Madeleine McCann: Jane Tanner’s eFit, A Spanish Angel And Wearing Pink Pyjamas
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – 70% DON’T BELIEVE McCANNS”
The McCanns are on the TV in Spain. The show is followed by a phone vote. The people vote, at least some of them do; how many, we are not told. One, two, three..? Gerry is a “cardiologist”
Pages 4 and 5: “Police: Parents are hampering probe.” Angel Galan, head of the Spanish National Police’s kidnap, extortion and murder squad says: “There is no real information to indicate that Madeleine could be in Spain although Mr and Mrs McCann might think so. I think the question is why couldn’t she be in France or in the UK? Why does it have to be Spain, Portugal or Morocco?”
“Drawing that could catch her abductor” – an artist’s impression of a man carrying a child in the vicinity of the McCanns holiday complex on May 3. The man is of average height, of average build, with dark hair and with his facial features not filled in. Do you know him?
The artist was commissioned by the McCanns in light of a person their friend Jane Tanner said she saw on the night Madeleine disappeared
THE SUN front page: “PICTURE SENSATION. He took Maddie – MAN SEEN BY McCANNS’ PAL ON FATEFUL NIGHT”
A drawing of a man. The caption: “Hunted…a drawing of man with child in his arms as seen by Jane Tanner”
Page 13: “MADDIE IN ARMS OF SNATCHER. Pyjamas ‘prove it is her’” – The man is 5ft 6. He is 5ft 10 in the Express. He is “slim”. The girl is wearing pink and white pyjamas. The man is in a maroon shirt, camel coloured trousers and black or brown shoes
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We hope this will go a long was to proving the independent eyewitness account that she was taken by someone and the police’s focus on Kate and Gerry as potential suspects is wrong”. See drawing of a man seen by McCanns’ friend
And: “We believe it does show Madeleine in his arms. The description of the pyjamas is accurate enough to believe that is the case.” The McCanns’ friend sees the girl wearing pyjamas like those worn by Madeleine, whom she knows
“GERRY BACK AT WORK” – Gerry McCann is a “cardiologist” – lest we ever forget
DAILY MIRROR front page: “This is the man who took our Madeleine. PARENTS RELEASE SKETCH”
Page 11: “’He was slim with untidy black hair, plastered back. He was hurrying with a child in pink pyjajmaas’” (No songs please)
“’KIDNAPPER’ SEEN BY KATE’S PAL”
Paul Routledge: “All I want to do is put my arms around her and say: ‘there, there’ while she sobs out her grief on my shoulder”
DAILY MAIL front page: “Friends’ fears for ‘increasingly fragile’ Kate”
Pages 8 and 9: “Is Kate at breaking point?” – If she cracks up will the papers like her better? “Friends fear for Maddie’s mother after TV ordeal”
“SPANISH EYES” – The McCanns have launched a private “proxy investigation” in Spain. Under Portuguese law it is illegal to use private detectives while an investigation is ongoing
The mystery man who may have taken her” – Mrs Tanner sees the man. She is later “racked with guilt”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE PARENTS ‘HIDING TRUTH’ – 70 per cent of TV viewers thinks McCanns are lying”
Pages 4 and 5: “BODY LANGUAGE SPECIALIST GIVES HIS VERDICT ON KATE – ‘MUM WOULD BE VERY GOOD POKER PLAYER’.” Robert Phipps watches the interview with Kate McCann on Spanish TV. She is frowning, and expert Phipps says this is indicative of “pain” and stress. Who knew? We do not know if he then voted in the subsequent poll
THE TIMES front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – The white man is of “medium build”
Page 9: “’This is the man who took Madeleine away’” – The Times says the new picture bears “no resemblance to Robert Murat”. The picture has been handed to the McCanns’ detectives who are operating across Europe and North Africa
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – This is the man Jane Tanner says she saw at 9:15pm on May 3

514…Stevo
Like a rising mist….nothing ever remains the same in McCannspeak.
P S….That last pic of yours…with the case-cracking sketch….and egghead….egghead does bear an uncanny resemblance to Clarence’s noddle.

499 Garth, you cannot invent stuff like this!!! We differ in that yes I’d like Maddy found, but this is just confusing everyone - the vast majority of people are laughing now at this ludicrous attempt to divert from a proper investigation - and the Mccanns are suspects, not only of the police in portugal but in many eyes across the globe.
No independant person saw this man - it has been dreamed up. Yes, create wild theories and then pull them apart to see if they stand up. But to actually make false evidence? No not acceptable - not to me or in the eyes of the law (in the UK).
Artists impressions might be ok in some cases, but to try to put an imagine into the mind of the public is criminally misleading. We all know they want this to be the only theory, sadly it has no evidencial backing, so they invent evidence? Its absolutely ludicrous!
Regarding this line…
‘If someone has spotted a man they couldnt recognise then fair point. But they havent. So silly point really’
Its the same point. Tanner is not an independent witness and she has changed her statement, now enhancing it to fit a desired scenario. No independant witness (in fact confliting evidence from Gerry himself). So I think someone ought to have a drawing made to prompt - just like you said the pj’s is only to prompt - a response. Someone out there might not realise they witnessed the Mccanns (or those working for them - eg Murat?) getting rid of her body.
The Mccanns WANT maddie to be considered to have been abducted. Its what they must have to keep them out of the focus of the investigation, for some reason (we dont know why).
Yes I will of course be interested in evidence, but not invented evidence.

501 Matt
Tanner’s latest vision yesterday had him wearing a purple top. I see in your Guardian report it is brown.
And the assailant seems to have shrunk by 4 inches since the first sighting. It was 5′10″ and now he’s supposed to be 5′6″.
Next thing Gerry will be giving us his metric/imperial lecture again.
October 26th, 2007 at 3:14 pm
My Editor’s just off the ‘phone after 20 minutes with Clarence: CM referring to Gerry as the “Frigid Midget” and the “Pissed-Up Paddy”.
On Tuesday, CM was bouncing off the walls and opining, “You can take a man out of the bog but you can’t take the bog out of the McCann”.
All not well in McCann-Land?

???
I’m not attacking you - it’s just blatant you’ve never worked with a police force in your life.
I’d rather you backed up your opinions by saying you read such and such in a book or on the internet or saw it on Cracker, rather than saying you have clinical experience.
And criminal psychology and forensic psychology are not 2 totally different fields - if you worked with the police or victims or offenders in the way you say you have then you are a forensic psychologist.
October 26th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
Soothsayer, your comments are generally pretty well reasoned. However, I have to disagree with a comment you made previously. If the McCanns are involved in the disappearance of their daughter, I agree, it would be possible for them not to be brought to justice, but it would not have anything to do with political involvement and high-ranking conspiracies.
Conspiracies from both sides of this argument are intersting, but they are not really plausible. There is no PJ conspiracy and no UK political conspiracy. And I really don’t think there is any conspiracy within the Tapas 9 group, like Freemasons.

I always like to read your posts and that’s a very good one from you…as usual.
Guess what though?
For me it’s not that they are hung drawn and quartered. It’s that justice is done and not impeded by the incredible McCanns. I don’t mind that it’s trial by Internet. I think this just gives things a new dimension.
Let me give you an example. Yesterday on the news here in the USA, a woman - 5 months pregnant - was stopped in her car, forced out of it and made to lie face down on the side of the busy Interstate. This was by cops who had received a tip-off that the person in this car was dangerous. This lady (a school headmistress) had her two toddlers in the back of the car with her.
When the cops realised that the woman was not dangerous and was indeed very pregnant, they walked back to their cop car and you can hear them on the tape say “I’ll write this up to save our ass”.
This morning on TV, the police chief was on defending the cops. When the presenter said to him about the saving their asses comment, the chief sounded like Gerry McCann with similar adjectives trying to deflect from what we can all see and hear.
I like this new modern way of commenting on stories. I think we do already comment on our governments in the way you say. Put it this way - if we didn’t have the Internet and these forums, the main stories we are being fed are that Kate cries uncontrollably, she sobs and breaks down. The reality is we see and hear something completely different.
I don’t think it makes us inhuman. I think our humanity is why we feel so strongly about this.
But…I always respect your excellent postings

October 26th, 2007 at 8:17 am
Sorry….previous post didn’t copy properly.
So, Clarence “hopes this sketch “drawn by an FBI-TRAINED (!!) FORENSIC ARTIST”
will be a VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER to anyone who was in the area on that night who
may have seen this man”
Hmmmmm….so you have finally gone completely doo-lally Clarence.
How much did this sketch cost to produce Clarence??
Even one penny (sterling) would have been a rip-off.
As for being A VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER….get real Clarence, please.
It is as usless as Tanner’s first description was and as unreliable.
Tanner’s “first” description was so laughable that the police thought
it unfit for use in the investigation.
To go back to the “original” description by Tanner……
Friday 25th May. Guardian. (from Tanner’s statement/description)
“After pressure from the McCanns, their legal team and the British
Government, police release a description of the man seen carrying a child
on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance. The man is described as white,
approximately 35 to 40 years old, of medium build and 5ft 10ins tall.
He was wearing a dark jacket, light beige trousers and dark shoes.”
(This description was was in tandem with the attempt by members of the Tapas Group
to implicate Mr Murat in the disappearance.)
However late last night (radio) news reports were stating initially that an artists
impression gleaned from Tanner was of such value that it was newsworthy.
(It was only in later reports…(I was listening to radio news reports at the time)
…..that it was stated that the sketch did not depict any facial features).
So, we now have Tanner’s latest vision !!…..
…..Friday 26th October. Guardian. (from Tanner’s statement/description)
“The images, which come almost six months after Madeleine went missing,
depict a slim man with lank hair dressed in a brown jacket and beige trousers.
The child, with her legs dangling, is wearing pink and white pyjamas similar
to those worn by Madeleine on the evening of May 3. The man’s face is blank.”
Friday 26th October. The Sun. (from Tanner’s statement/description)
“Swarthy, aged around 35 with black hair curling round his collar, the slim,
5ft 6in suspect was spotted hurrying away from the McCanns’ holiday apartment
by Kate and Gerry’s friend Jane Tanner.
Tanner, Jane, from Exeter, did not have a clear view of the man’s face, as he
turned it away from her.
But she did get a good look at his hair and clothing – a maroon shirt, camel
coloured trousers and black or brown shoes.”
Quite a change….Had Ms Tanner sobered up? Or become more intoxicated?
May I also say, Clarence, that your additional “quote”..”this is a description
made by an INDEPENDENT witness in the matter of Madeleine’s disappearance” is
utterly untrue and misleading.
Tanner is a member of the Tapas Group and most certaintly NOT an independent witness.
Additionally your quoting that Madeleine was 4 years old when she “disappeared” is
also incorrect. We all know, apart from you and her parents seemingly, that she was
3 years old then. For a man who proports to be a PR/SPIN expert…your incompetence
becomes more obvious day by day.
God bless you Madeleine….may the truth soon be revealed and the evil inherent in
all matters relevant to your “disappearance” be shown to be the tissue of lies it
is and you get the justice you so richly deserve.
As the old saying goes….you can choose your friends….but you can’t choose your
parents. Poor betrayed child.
October 26th, 2007 at 3:06 pm
495 Hutch - Tanner didnt see this, its a falsified image.
I suspect this is a criminal act - certainly couldnt be used in a court in the UK.
October 26th, 2007 at 3:06 pm

‘470 Garth, you cannot make up evidence to prompt responses, its farcical’
Do you want Madeleine to be found? Doesn’t sound like it to me. Are you going to continue to damn the McCanns or are you open to other theories?
Maybe someone should draw a picture of Mccann carrying suitcases to the Scenic? Unloading something from a car with a spanish background?
If someone has spotted a man they couldnt recognise then fair point. But they havent. So silly point really.

i belive it was the ma no matter wat anyone says if she was so upset why would she be goin out for meals
October 26th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
492 Garth - its misleading and is probably termed ‘falsifying evidence’.
Just because it suits you in your blind defence of these totally inept parents who are manipulating everything to protect themselves.
If a picture is produced of the MccAnns putting something under the carpet in the back of the car, will you accept that as reasonable?
October 26th, 2007 at 3:02 pm
480 Tony Bennett… you are in agreeance with my theory. This picture is just to reinforce the fantasy in becoming everyone’s accepted reality. Very naive aren’t they. A judge/jury would make mincemeat out of all this inconsistancy
October 26th, 2007 at 3:01 pm

yes I did, not busted for anything!! Would be easier to understand istead of my gibberish. I thought by the way they were copy and pasted that was quite obvious to you sleuths!!!
Still not quite sure of the reason of your attack on a newbie.

The faceless man was carrying something. None of us know whom or what. We know Madeleine disappeared around that time. The only fact we do have is what she was wearing. Were not interested in eliminating a faceless man because after 6 bleedin months I’m sure that person would have come forward and identified himself - if he’s got nothing to hide. But as yet noone has. So what do we do? Were only interested if someone was seen with a little girl who wore these pyjamas. So incorporate that into the sketch. It makes perfect sense.
