I just realised after I hit send why the McCanns haven’t published a test.
It’s because the police will always do their own anyway. Any independently obtained “civilian” test would be inadmissable.

Ian, the waiter said it was normally the men who were checking that night. So assuming that Jane got up to go check on her own child (that was the reason, wasn’t it?) along with her partner and that Kate finally checked that night. Is there a higher possibility that Madeleine may have been ill as well?
(open in general, not regarding post 657)
Putting aside the the possibility that her parents may have done something to her.
If Madeleine’s body is found in the next 6 months, does that give more hope to people that she may be alive? Or less?
Just curious as we are hearing more of these stories about children being held for long periods of time.

If the hair wasn’t long enough to prove that it was hair they had in May, the test isn’t conclusive. I’m assuming that if a test was done properly it would address all issues like that or there’d be no point doing it. I’d expect the twins to have hair plucked from their heads and at least 6, or 7cm long…even longer if possible.
Did you realise the twins had their hair cut over there? It’s listed in Gerry’s banal blog. Perhaps he knew hair could be tested.
If a bona fide test was done and shown to be negative that would be bombshell evidence in favour of the McCanns. I believe no such test has been done or if a test was done then it was not done properly…i.e. was the equivalent of a home pregnancy test kit and thus would not be valid in a criminal case.

Yea ok, but actually very sad today. What about you? I know you chose to stand back last week and I think I will be doing the same from now on. Must be very difficult for the PJ at the moment. And I would like to think there are some British cops who also are frustrated to see that people are being protected in an unprecedented fashion.
I agree with you about the bigger questions to ask. Maybe in time they will be, but for the moment I think most people are blinded by the details of the case to see the ‘wider agenda’.
Like you, I will continue to hope that justice will prevail.

The McCanns have been frustrated by the Portuguese police’s seeming unwillingness to publicise the sighting.
It also emerged yesterday that Portuguese police failed to record any of their interviews with the McCanns, their friends or any of the witnesses to Madeleine’s disappearance.
Instead, detectives relied on handwritten notes, which they translated from English to Portuguese contemporaneously.
The revelation means that the McCanns’ police statements may be inaccurate records of what they actually said. It has also fuelled fears that the couple’s statements might easily be manipulated to put them in the frame for their daughter’s disappearance.

It would infer that she was involved, her man O’Brien and her seemed to be away from the tapas bar for a lot of the time.
Maybe it is to distract in case anyone saw the guy they paid to shift Maddie’s body? Maybe to distract them from her partner? Maybe she spoke too soon (didnt know what they were up to). Later told it was Murat helping them, so she has shaved a few inches off his height, slimmed him down, lengthened his hair, made him more ‘jonny foreigner’?

She will be find alive and well I am sure of that. Someone somewhere is playing a hughe mind game with the nation. What about the morocco photo, who here can really say it looks like the Bushra girl. It was madeleines face. My partner does face mapping and it was a perfefct fit - yet it went quiet was the picture fake or was it her.

Can profilers help determine where a body might be hidden, if they work from the point of view of a particular suspect(s).
For instance, if suspect is a ‘control freak’ or ‘neat freak’, where might they hide, or NOT hide a body?

640 Stevo, I suspect they have side issues which would be revealed, like maybe it was Gerry’s ‘genetic material’ (what a horrible thought!) but not Kates egg?
Maybe the hair was free of any sedative traces, but was not 5cm long - i.e. only proved back to some date AFTER the relevant date, hence not actually evidence of anything about the case.
I think Gerry is only confident because he knows the body will not be found and he knows that the pople who shifted it cannot speak about it because they have serious involvement worse than his - OR he doesnt know the full story himself.

The PJ have solved the case but it seems they are not allowed to close it.
Maybe people should concentrate why that should be. Who is behind the pressure? Is it New Labour, The Catholic Church, embarrassed public figures……or something else?

Well another working day come and gone,it looks like Soothsayer was right no PJ or Prosecutor,no questions basically a nothing day even the world famous profiler stayed away.I guess we will just have to wait and see if Soothsayers valuation of the situation comes to pass,does anyone know anything about him where he’s from how he gets his information,what he does could he possibly be a policeman of some sort.

I’m not sure about this. I’ve heard some claim that the actual part where he says something about the microphones was edited out of some of the videos. I haven’t heard Mitchell state anything about it yet, although I have heard claims that Mitchell was opposed to the interview as he knew some questions would come up (the sedation question). I’d also like to hear the questions translated.
Oh, and about the furniture. That is Kennedy’s house they did it in, so it isn’t the McCanns furniture (as some people were saying it was bad furniture).

There’s no point responding to allegations by way of the media if you’re not going to back them up. It’s like a school kid bully who goes around saying “my dad’s bigger than your dad”.
I think my point on this doesn’t get across like I want it to.
I’m saying that if you really are innocent and you had test results to prove your innocence, you’d actually show that evidence and not keep rattling on about having it…wouldn’t you? There’s not a single molecule sized issue of not showing this information. If the test results have confidential information on there like the twins’ National Insurance details, blur them out. The public would be fantastically happy to see a copy of the page that shows the twins were not sedated. The public would be over the moon to see Gerry’s DNA test results to show paternity. I’m sure the papers would pay for those tests.
What is it with these idiots? I just don’t get it.
