Madeleine McCann: Irish Teenger Saw Gerry McCann
PAULO Reis writes on Madeleine McCann:
A teenager, who was with her family at Ocean Club, saw Gerry McCann and Jeremy Wilkins talking, the night Madeleine disappeared – but she didn’t saw Jane Tanner or a man carrying a child. The girl wasn’t in the list of guests, as their presence at Ocean Club wasn’t registered with the management. Father and daughter have been in Portugal, recently, to help Policia Judiciaria in the reconstruction of what happened the night of May 3 and to give a formal statement to Police, according to a source close to the case.
Speaking to SOS Madeleine, the Irish teenager confirmed she saw Gerry McCann and Jeremy Wilkins talking, for a few minutes, near the McCann apartment: “There was only the father of the little girl talking to another man.”
The teenager went out for a cigarette, around the same time Jane Tanner said she saw a man carrying a child. She only mentioned what she saw to her family latter, because she had also to confess the reason why she was there. Since the beginning, Police had some doubts about Jane Tanner [sic] statement, as Jeremy Wilkins, a tennis partner of Madeleine’s father, told them he only saw Gerry McCann near the apartment.
Jane Tanner [sic] description of the man she allegedly saw was used to draw a sketch that the McCann [sic] released, yesterday, October 25. But Jane Tanner was initially quoted, in the British Media, as saying that the man was walking to the church. Later, British newspapers referred [sic] she said the man was walking in the opposite direction, to Robert Murat’s house.
Jeremy Wilkins told the Press he was walking his eight-month son when he met Gerry McCann, who was checking his children. The TV producer said he didn’t saw [sic] a man carrying a child and he also didn’t saw Jane Tanner: “It was a very narrow path and I think it would have been almost impossible for anyone to walk by without me noticing.”
After a few weeks claiming they couldn’t talk to the Media because of Portuguese secrecy laws, the McCann accepted to be interviewd by Antena 3, a Spanish TV channel. Gerry McCann praised the Portuguese Police but, at the same time, the usual “family friends” were quoted by the British Media in another attack to the credibility of Portuguese police, who hasn’t recorded the statements given by Madeleine parents. This is denied by a PJ source, who told that “all formal questionings of the McCann [sic] were recorded, but no recording was made from the informal meetings with them.”
Statements given to Police, in the Portuguese legal system, are only used in the investigation and even confessions are not valued by courts, as only statements made during trial are considered evidence.

I have recently found out through moroccan friends that the trip to Morocco was staged. A group of school children were gathered , each given a poster. The show began. The Mccanns laughing and shaking hands with the children. Cameras stopped rolling , posters were collected. mccanns left.
There has never been any campaigns in Morroco or Spain.
- A staged non-campaign… How so?

I have a question.
Was there anyone, besides Madeleine McCann’s parents, that claimed that they saw her in Portugal?
Is there any evidence she was on the airplane or ship traveling to Portugal?
When was the last time that “ANYONE” saw Madeleine?
What I’m trying to clarify is this.
1. Her parents are both doctors with a lot of connections in medical circles.
2. It has been said, I don’t know how much proof there is, that Madeleine was anywhere from mildly retarded to having severe autism.
3. It’s not as common now, but it seems to me that if you had the connections you could still quietly “DROP” your less than perfect child in an institution somewhere. Either in your home country or a country you’re visiting.
4. If you had your child institutionalized, and then went on vacation a few weeks later and claimed your child was kidnapped. Would anyone in the institution suspect that the cute little girl in their care was really Madeleine McCann? Especially if she showed up a few weeks before Madeleine was reported as missing.
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this.
More than anything else I sincerely hope that she is found safe and sound. If one of my little boys disappeared I would be beside myself with worry for weeks or months. So I’m not really sorry if my comments offend anyone that thinks that there is “NOTHING WRONG” with the McCann’s behavior.

perhaps the mccanns ‘friends’ need to get all their ’storylines’ right before they’did see this person carrying the child!!!

Rob,
I believe the last known sighting of Madeleine by anyone other than the parents or their friends, prior to her disappearance, was the photo taken at 14.29.
I assume the teenager confessed to her family that she was smoking, as she had to say why she was outside and saw Jeremy Wilkins. Maybe her family didn’t know she smokes and she’d nipped out for a sly drag! I suppose her parents would know that any other excuse was untrue. You know what parents are like. Always watching what their kids are doing and where they are. Well, some of them.

For interest when was the last time besides the parents did anyone see or saw Madeleine before she disappeared. Was it hours, during the day or ?
if Madeleine was seen shortly before she was put to sleep and the parents going to dinner then there is not much opportunity of the parents been involved
Why did the teenager have to confess to smoking she could have made up a 100 reasons why she was out there.

Anorak how about a spell check!! See/saw “but she didn’t saw Jane Tanner”. How credible are your reports when you can’t even produce an edited column?

Have either Gerry McCann or Jeremy Wilkins said they saw this Irish girl? I’d have thought, given the ‘narrow passage’ as described by Wilkins that someone stood there smoking would be quite visible. Mind you, it seems this ‘narrow passage’ was quite crowded.

The sketch of the “man” abductor, looks like a woman..could it be that that was Maddy on the back of the lady in the photo. The child they brought out for reporters didn’t seem like the one in the photo…the hair was different and the child looked bigger. Here’s hoping.
A lot more to come out later…….!

I expect the Real Stig and Garth will be on to confirm that it doesn’t matter if the girl saw a man with a child or not, we know there was an abductor so the absence of a man can’t prove it wasn’t him.
