by the way thing about chidren not being allowed to dine is crap,if stevo was here would take you to site ,where it says ,first nights they dined in restuarant,then because children became restless,made special arrangements with mark warner resorets to have their PRE -PAID DINNER.including FREE WINE at the tapas bar so they could leave kids 150 yards away on other side of pool so they could get ……….. and enjoy in peace

Please provide proof of your statement that the McCanns have hired the best PI’s and it should be from a non-tabloid source meaning a reputable news organisation and I will in turn provide you with several articles where McCann PR or McCann relatives or friends were trashing PJ or Portuguese culture or laws.
I’m really not surprised that you and Stig never read the xenophobic and derogatgory comments in the press. Perhaps it’s because perception and feeling are uniquely individual and what is racist and derogatory to me is common language and every day thoughts to you?

jcb - All of the excuses under the sun doesnt excuse anyone for leaving young children alone at night. If that was what they wanted from a holiday, why take the children with them - The McCanns have family members than the extended royal family and they have all come out of the woodwork since this lot kicked off - surely if they are such a close knit clan they would have looked after the kids while mom and dad went off to enjoy themselves? Regardless of the “flimsy babysitting service” provided by the resort, the McCanns apparently did not even consider ANY babysitting service - rather leave their children to the mercy of what or who ever than cough up a few euros. Maybe they were living beyond their means and on the bread line - and may that is why they needed to dip into the “fund” to finance their luxury home. There is a phrase which my mother used to use about folk like this “kippers and curtains” - it related to having a posh house and nothing on the table ……..

I think awareness in the United States has been pretty much confined to the original story; in some ways the dipping into the fund seems to shock people more than the McCann’s being declared as suspects. After all, there is no doubt that they have used the funds, whereas there may be a lot of doubt that the police have got it right.

LOL Maria, ususally your posts are very long and flowery and almost worshipful of the McCanns that is what I meant by 17th century.
People have debated public events and high profile cases since the beginning of time. I don’t see many people here who are screaming “burn them” and if you notice I don’t support that view at all.
Anyway, I’m not surprised you managed to spin my few sentences into 3 paragraphs and decontruct and reconstruct something unrecognisable to my original meaning.

I think it is a disgrace that the McCanns have used the fund money to pay the mortgage on their 500,000 pound house. There are many sad situations concerning children whose parents are too distressed to work for various reasons - ie children who are terminally ill in hospital and the parents need to be with them 24/7 - (something the McCanns obviously do not consider to be a priority having left them with someone else or alone for the most part of a holiday) The McCanns should sell their mini mansion and downgrade to something that they can afford without using money given in good faith by people, some of whom probably really could not afford to give. I am sure that the McCanns could find a house for less than 200,ooo in Leices - Oh sorry - I forgot - “they are doctors” - tosh!!

My daughter’s friend worked at the Mark Warner resort and she said that all of the children went for their evening meal together (which is what Madeleine and the twins did on the night of 3 May). They were not allowed to dine with the adults in the restaurant. The baby sitting service consisted of employees walking around the various apartments where there were children, listening at the doors, and if there was a sound they reported back to the reception who contacted the parents concerned.
This was also verified by a poster on another Anorak site a few weeks ago, who took her daughter to a Mark Warner resort, and was told that children were not allowed in the restaurant. She was very uneasy about leaving her, but as everyone seemed to be happy with the arrangement she also left her child on the first night. But the next night and subsequent nights she took her daughter into the restaurant. She said that she felt extremely uncomfortable because all of the other guests were making comment, but for the rest of the holiday her daughter accompanied them in the evening.
Another poster copied a piece from the Mark Warner information which stated this fact, but apparently she said it mysteriously disappeared a few weeks after Madeleine had been abducted!!!

That’s interesting! But this is why I think the Downing St website is a waste of time because they’d either throw the petition out, offensively worded or not, or throw it in the direction of the wastepaper bin. We would have to have one on an independent website, perhaps linked from this forum if Anorak would do it. Anyone out there who could help set one up. I can’t do it, I’m computer illiterate technically speaking.

Exactly right! In the 17th century we might just have gone on hunches, likes and dislikes, whether or not people cry or say the right things or wear the right clothes or have the right accent etc. etc. We might even just have thrown them in a river to say whether or not they sank or swam.
In the 21st century we look to science, evidence, facts before we charge and convict, although there are always people who prefer the jolly old 17th century approach! Much easier, I suppose, and definitely more sensationalist.

Do me a favour and explore the past month on Anorak - especially late night/early morning and you will find diatribes and insults from Kris who was then Krissie (to my knowledge this is true unless a poster was pretending to be Kris/Krissie) There is a contributor named Stickler who I came across. Stickler had catalogued all of Kris/Krissie’s insults and when confronted with the evidence admitted it was her writing but then attacked Stickler with the suggestion that he was another poster in ‘disguise’ (not true).
Do me a second favour and provide me with evidence that the McCanns have hired the very best detectives and I will provide you with derogatory racist comments about PJ. As I said before and I will say it again because you apparently were never taught by your parents that it is rude to make people repeat themselves: they not have used the word “moron” specifically I used that word because I felt it summed up their trashing of PJ. Also a final reminder often the comments are coming from Mitchell, unnamed close friend or Aunt Philomena. Since Gerry has the role of controlling what people say and when I have to assume that he has approved the derogatory comments about PJ or he would have made a public statement by now trying to rectify the nasty propaganda coming out of their camp against not only PJ but Portuguese culture.
I don’t expect that to take place though because the xenophobic language coming from the McCann spin is with intent. It’s purpose is divide and separate people on cultural issues ratther than concentrating on the real story and focusing on Madeleine and what has happened to her. The British government and the McCanns made sure that would not happen.
Oh and one final note on why I fiind them suspicious. They will not cooperate with PJ since being made suspects. If you are innocent then there is notthing to fear and nothing to hide.
And now I need to go out and buy some sort of otc pain reliever. So if I am not answering your comments and they are not rehashes of the same old same old and are in need of my repeating something I have already said but you have furnished me with documentation that they hired the best PI’s - I will eventually reply but not until around 23:00 EST.

Or, Madeleine can’t swim.
Or, like many autistic and other “syndrome” children, she is deathly afraid of water.
Splashing sometimes makes autistic children scream. maybe there’s something similar with Charge kids, or another one of those spectrum genetic disorders. But that would explain why, no bathing suit. Probably just the notion of it would be frightening if autism is the case.
So, perhaps ALL of the above.

Actually, there aren’t such instances.
The only time Kate appeared distraught was very early on, when Gerry dragged her out into the street for one of his personal announcements–this time, that the PJ were finally focusing on Murat.
Kate did seem very upset. But not a tear fell. Rather, she appeared to be silently screaming.
She’s a scary person.
When she does tear up and her botoxed face unparalyzes enough to actually create some kind of dull expression, it is usually in response to some deluded person handing her a bible or a crucifix or saying, “Oh, how you must be suffering!”
Only then, do we see a glimmer of…well, of something. I am not sure what to call it, really.
Look how fast she snapped out of it in the last interview, when she said that “of course, can’t you see how together we are?” or something equally vomitous, when questioned about how Madeleine going missing had affected her marriage. No tears. The emotion she displayed then was DARING. As in, ‘I DARE you to find the body. Go ahead and try.’
