Say the McCanns dining party: “The police told us not to discuss our statement. We’ve always tried to honour this. We wish to state there is categorically no so-called pact of silence – or indeed anything secretive between us. Just the desire to assist the search. It is frustrating that the facts we have done as we were asked is till being looked upon as suspicious”
“COPS IN WINDOW PROBE” – Paolo Rebelo is looking at the window of the McCanns’ holiday apartment. “is this how evil Maddie snatcher struck?”
Four pictures:
1. “Rebelo pushes window

DAILY MIRROR front page: “NOW THEY BELIVE US – Police finally accept Madeleine was snatched”

A policeman climbs through a window. He passes out a “large bundle”
“MADDY ‘SPOTTED 10 TIMES IN MOROCCO’” – Says private detective Francisco Marco: “Several unconnected people have told us of the same girl with the same woman. She has shorter hair than Madeleine. But everything else matches”. Like her name?
“MORTGAGE FUND FURY” – Says Clarence Mitchell: “The fund exists to help them when living costs became difficult”
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – McCANNS USE FUNDS TO PAY MORTGAGE” – Two mortgage payments on their “£600,000” home
The Express leads with picture of Gerry McCann playing golf. Inset is a picture of Gerry McCann on a bicycle
“We’ve found a kidnapped blonde girl, but it’s not her” – A blonde girl in Morocco. She can speak English. She must have been kidnapped. Right?
Says Francisco Marco: “Blonde children are a valuable commodity in North Africa. They can be sold for huge sums and give prestige to families who buy them”
DAILY MAIL front page: “MADDIE FUND PAYS McCANNS’ MORTGAGE” – Mortgage repayments on their “£500,000” home. (How long before the Express and Mail start a heated debate on the value of the McCanns home and how that value has been affected by the story?)
Page 4: “Is she in the mountains? Investigators scour Morocco in the search for Madeleine”
Says the Mail: “In an extraordinary coincidence the detectives are reported to have already found an English-speaking blonde girl of about Madeleine’s age living with a local family”
How many more blonde children are in Morocco? And can we find them all?
DAILY STAR front page: “Maddie ‘alive in drug den’”
Page 7: “MADDIE’S IN MOROCCAN MOUNTAINS – Ten sightings with rich Arab”
Says Francisco Marco PI of the woman with the blonde child found in the Rif mountains: “My feeling is this woman is some sort of carer who is working on behalf of other people”
Says an “insider”: “It’s a very secretive country and the Rif mountains enjoy official protection because of the importance of the hashish production”
“McCanns in the clear – Portuguese police now believe Madeline was kidnapped”
THE TIMES page 13: “Police return to holiday apartment in attempt to solve Madeleine mystery”

On a generally gloomy day for McCann-sceptics, I offer this contribution from another Madeleine McCann Forum today. If it’s already been posted on Anorak, I apologise, I’m out most of the day at the moment:
Edit…….

Tony… That’s just another unverifiable ‘story’. Besides, the January time window for holiday bookings is bizarre at best. Even if someone is charged with offences anytime soon, it’ll surely take months for any case to come to court, and that’s before the inevitable appeals, questions in the ‘House’ and demands for a public enquiry.

Thats enough. Goodnight all.
I am going to attempt to keep off this site all of tomorrow. Just my luck, the case will be solved!

Judith, Kitty and Ian sound sort of alpha.
Did you mean them?

Edit.
Is there a bullying alpha person in the group who is so dominant and persuasive that the others all put their concerns in the back of their minds so as not to cause a fuss? Is there a bullish person who says “Look, it will be fine. Don’t be stupid, just do it.”
A dominant narcissistic person is not only very persuasive but it can be so ****ing draining to constantly stand up to ……. Edit…
Just a thought.

A good and very perceptive thought.. I have experience of a close family member. You describe their behaviour, and it’s impact on others around them, precisely.

THE ‘SOCIAL TENNIS EVENT’
From the same Forum, I add this comment about the ’social tennis event’:
QUOTE
We’re taking it as a given that the girl was in the apartment at 9pm. How do we know this? We don’t. But what we do know is other than a vague reference to “tennis” at 7:30pm, Gerry is nowhere to be found.
He’s saving his timeline until trial. I think he knows if he told the truth about where he (and the girl) were between 6-9pm, nobody would ever have given him any “find Madeleine” money.

In scale, these different types of propaganda can also be defined by the potential of true and correct information to compete with the propaganda. For example, opposition to white propaganda is often readily found and may slightly discredit the propaganda source. Opposition to grey propaganda, when revealed (often by an inside source), may create some level of public outcry. Opposition to black propaganda is often unavailable and may be dangerous to reveal, because public cognizance of black propaganda tactics and sources would undermine or backfire the very campaign the black propagandist supported.
.Propaganda may be administered in insidious ways. For instance, disparaging disinformation about the history of certain groups or foreign countries may be encouraged or tolerated in the educational system. Since few people actually double-check what they learn at school, such disinformation will be repeated by journalists as well as parents, thus reinforcing the idea that the disinformation item is really a “well-known fact”, even though no one repeating the myth is able to point to an authoritative source. The disinformation is then recycled in the media and in the educational system, without the need for direct governmental intervention on the media. Such permeating propaganda may be used for political goals: by giving citizens a false impression of the quality or policies of their country, they may be incited to reject certain proposals or certain remarks or ignore the experience of others.
We decide from their own mouths, expressions and actions!
We all came on here because we knew what the media was saying is shit

That is more of a press release than an editorial.
‘The Sunday Times’ is part of the same stable (News International) as ‘Sky’, ‘The News of The World’ and ‘The Sun’ who have supported the McCanns since day (or should I say evening) one of Madeleine’s disappearance.
Don’t accept propaganda.

I love how the media is on this rollercoaster… one minute we’re going to see the McCanns arrested any day now. The next day, Murat did it.
Go figure.
I think Murat did do something. Personally.

That is a press release, not an editorial.
‘The Sunday Times’ is part of News International, who own a large chunk of the British (and Aus/US) media including ‘The News of The World’, ‘The Sun’ and ‘Sky’ who have supported the McCanns from day (or should I say evening) one.
Don’t accept propaganda.

THE ‘SOCIAL TENNIS EVENT’
Here’s a ‘take’ on the ’social tennis event’ and related matters of that evening’s events - from another Forum (no, not the ‘Mirror’ Forum).
I don’t agree with all of its conclusions, but post it for further interest:

QUOTE
The Tapas group (17 in all) rented two cars to share amongst them. One of the cars could hold a party of 5, the second (Nissan micra?) was for four. There were two parties of 5- McCanns and the Payne/Websters, so they shared the larger car. Payne’s name was on the contract, McCann was the additional driver. The groups took turns with the car, possibly every other day, handing the keys back and forth.
The social tennis event wasn’t a real tournament, but probably an excuse to play a few casual sets and drink at the same time (that’s the social part, and perhaps a reason for the large number of bottles of wine on the tab for that afternoon and evening). Even so, just like at Wimbledon, the lesser players washed out early and the better ones continued on into the evening. Early on, it was reported that the Tapas dinner hour was later than usual because of the tennis event, so presumably some of the men continued to play (and drink) while the mothers attended to the kids.
Let’s say that the McCanns attended the tennis, and Gerry played until he was washed out. Then he and Kate picked up the kids and went to the apartment at around six. At about seven, David Payne was through with tennis as well. He went to the McCann apartment to either pick up/drop off the car keys, during which he observed some sort of bedtime routine, not necessarily seeing each of the kids. If Kate was there, and not Gerry, then Gerry was out with the car. If Gerry was also there, then perhaps they had asked Payne to drop off the keys. At any rate, the car was likely available to them until 7PM at the earliest, and for the rest of the evening at the latest.
This would enable either of the McCanns to take a quick run through town to check out hiding places. A second run to do their little job. And a third run at about 5AM to complete the task. Remember, the cadaver smell was found at the beach; technicians even poked poles into the ground to release the smell, but nothing other than smell was found.
Since the rental car was in Payne’s name, Gerry could reasonably (and did) claim that they had no car at the time.

Good point.
The unlocked door is a key piece of evidence from the point of view of known statements and how the initial story was relayed to friends and relatives in the UK. Initially it was a break -in through the window - door locked. When it was pointed out that there was no sign of forced entry the story changed to an unlocked patio.
+++++++++++++++++++
Unless that what they ‘needed’ to say (unlocked patio) in order to make the abduction scenario ‘feasible’? or is that what you are saying? Sorry, so easy to misread.

Have you read about the level of baby sitting service at Mark Warner? That is why they ‘did it themselves’.

I ‘believe’ that site offers/offered:
* A ‘listening’ service
* A drop in crèche service until late evening
* An in room baby sitting service until about 1.00 AM
Their DIY service seems a poor choice given the other options available?

Bless me Father for I have sinned it has been ***** since my last confession………..
“We let our daughter down, we were selfish, we should have protected her, We made a BIG mistake. We wanted so much to be a lovelly perfect family, and now we behaved in this utterly selfish way and Madeleine has gone!”
