Agree with Mark Williams, though, that Rebelo seems to be doing, at last, what should have been done months ago, ie a thorough investigation into ALL possible scenarios. However much the tabloids try to rake up a bit of sensationalism, he’s only carrying out a thorough review of all the evidence to date. Following up Murat again is only part of that review. Similarly interviewing the McCanns and the tapas friends again. (WHEN is that going to happen?!)
At least, unlike Amaral, he is not working solely on one theory and trying to force the known “facts” fit that theory. Very poor police work to do that.
Whatever the result, it’s reassuring to know Rebelo is “working”!!!

Well, I agree with you totally! I mean, without Mark Williams we’d never have guessed the investigation might be reaching “a crucial stage” where decisions will have to be made. Remarkable insight. Worth his weight in gold, that man!

«A little dickie-bird I know who is in the know told me that there is new evidence against Murat but because the order of ‘no more leaks’ is being rigidly enforced by the PJ under threat of sacking no-one is saying what it is.»
Yes. But I PARTICULARLY appreciate the new style of leaks now being initiated by Rebelo:
«During a reenactment of the abduction on Monday, Mr Rebelo paced from the flat towards Murat’s house. A reporter asked him why he was doing that, and he replied: “I’m working.”»
The Sun (this morning)
Nice one, Rebelo. Makes it that that much more difficult for Anorakers to find ever new crazy and crackpot (imho) theories to spawn. I sincerely hope Rebelo is not sacked like Amaral was for making such injudicious leaks…

well I never. How very exciting to hear a word being spelled. And correctly. But it doesn’t show me the spam word so I guess my PC must try harder!

Yes I know, it could easily be just another rumour; same as 95% of the stuff swirling around about the McCanns is just rumour. But without rumour this forum would not exist!

It is clear that Team McCann are joyously “jumping through the hoop”
regarding reports of the PJ doing a Reconstruction around the Apartments
related to the disappearance of Madeleine.
They shrill…”It proves that the PJ believe our story” !!
Reports that the PJ are going to re-interview Mr Murat evoke the very same
shrill response from within the McCann Camp.
“It proves that the PJ believe our stor” !!
Er….calm down Clarence and Team McCann….it’s your turn next.

You make very interesting, thought provoking comments but I cant agree with you that the men were involved in a sudden meeting to hatch the abduction hoax.
If the parents and all/ some of the friends were involved then it was already planned way before may3 and any conversations would just be to finalise the stories. You dont get away with what these people may have for so long with a plan concocted in a few hours.

Just 1 question ,the Mccanns are both 39 yrs ,they are no kids. When we become parents ,we have responsabilities . Why in the , can we ignore they negleted their litlle children ??They even had babbysitting and they refused it .

It is amazing how much the little girl on the back of the elderly lady looks like Maddy. The hair seems thinner on her than on the girl they produced later. Still, the authorities have done their forensic bit and come up nought.

1346 — Kris — I think the McCanns are guilty, but I don’t think they’re freaks. I think most of what seems odd about them can be explained by the fact that they are lying in most of what they say and do in public, and even trained actors would not be able to act 24/7. For example, I think the reason Kate McCann doesn’t cry at all in public, why she seemed to force herself during the latest intervew, is not that she doesn’t miss Madeleine desperately. I think the reason Kate McCann doesn’t cry in public is that what she is supposed to cry about — that Madeleine’s missing — is untrue, so she can’t cry over that. And if she tried to access her emotions over what really happened, she could end up spilling the beans. So, she’s trapped within herself.
I don’t think the McCanns “murdered” Madeleine; I don’t think they had the requisite intent for murder. I think what happened was a banal accident when Kate was watching her. What happened after the accident deomonstrates why “it’s always the cover-up that gets you”. Casting their purported actions in the best possible light, I’d say Gerry McCann may have thought he was defending his wife and (remaining) family by covering up the accident. The problem, though, is that when you take one step down that road, turning back is almost impossible.
I have come to have some sympathy for Kate and Gerry McCann. I think that accidents happen. The tragedy, in the literary sense of the word, was that the McCanns didn’t own up to what happened right away. Because one of their children is dead, they never would have been “happy” again in any case. However, now they are in a Hell that seems to have no real end. I think if I knew them personally, I would urge them to tell their lawyers they want to come clean.

YAY!!!New Zealand gets a mention. Here it is The parents of the little British girl abducted in Portugal lived in New Zealand for a year.
Madeleine McCann, who turned four on Saturday, is feared kidnapped after she vanished from her bed in the Praia da Luz holiday resort on the Algarve on May 3. Her parents were eating at a nearby restaurant and had made half hourly checks on their sleeping children.
In 1996 her mother Kate McCann practised as a GP in Wellington, while her father Gerry McCann was working in Napier and played for Napier City Rovers Football Club.
“He buried many goals for Napier” said a source. ” He was always ahead of the play, we had a young team and if he saw a kid napping he would scream blue murder at him”
Hero in the changing rooms afterwards. Often winning the 14 bottles of his choice for player of the day.
Ignore above paragraph apparently the source was very unreliable which seems strange as it was the same person who issued the report in the first place and who now denies ever being in New Zealand.
This is true though:
A colleague of Gerry McCann’s, Ian Geary, says he captained the side during the entire season, was a very handy player and a very nice person. He says he can’t imagine what the couple must be feeling or going through and their hearts and prayers go out to them.
Mind you that was May 14th.

Hi, Kris:
I disagree. I think the McCanns will hold on to their “they’ve taken her” story come hell or high water.
They’re not going to break–make mistakes, certainly. But never put aside their pride and sense of self preservation.
They didn’t hire that DreamTeam for nothing.
