Say the McCanns dining party: “The police told us not to discuss our statement. We’ve always tried to honour this. We wish to state there is categorically no so-called pact of silence – or indeed anything secretive between us. Just the desire to assist the search. It is frustrating that the facts we have done as we were asked is till being looked upon as suspicious”
“COPS IN WINDOW PROBE” – Paolo Rebelo is looking at the window of the McCanns’ holiday apartment. “is this how evil Maddie snatcher struck?”
Four pictures:

A policeman climbs through a window. He passes out a “large bundle”
“MADDY ‘SPOTTED 10 TIMES IN MOROCCO’” – Says private detective Francisco Marco: “Several unconnected people have told us of the same girl with the same woman. She has shorter hair than Madeleine. But everything else matches”. Like her name?

DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – McCANNS USE FUNDS TO PAY MORTGAGE” – Two mortgage payments on their “£600,000” home

Says Francisco Marco: “Blonde children are a valuable commodity in North Africa. They can be sold for huge sums and give prestige to families who buy them”
DAILY MAIL front page: “MADDIE FUND PAYS McCANNS’ MORTGAGE” – Mortgage repayments on their “£500,000” home. (How long before the Express and Mail start a heated debate on the value of the McCanns home and how that value has been affected by the story?)
Page 4: “Is she in the mountains? Investigators scour Morocco in the search for Madeleine”
Says the Mail: “In an extraordinary coincidence the detectives are reported to have already found an English-speaking blonde girl of about Madeleine’s age living with a local family”
How many more blonde children are in Morocco? And can we find them all?
DAILY STAR front page: “Maddie ‘alive in drug den’”
Page 7: “MADDIE’S IN MOROCCAN MOUNTAINS – Ten sightings with rich Arab”
Says Francisco Marco PI of the woman with the blonde child found in the Rif mountains: “My feeling is this woman is some sort of carer who is working on behalf of other people”
Says an “insider”: “It’s a very secretive country and the Rif mountains enjoy official protection because of the importance of the hashish production”
“McCanns in the clear – Portuguese police now believe Madeline was kidnapped”
THE TIMES page 13: “Police return to holiday apartment in attempt to solve Madeleine mystery”

I agree, the resolution of the photo taken by the tourist makes it very difficult to be certain. I applaud the work you do, it seems that it could be quite dangerous, if what is detailed on this page is correct: http://thomasdeflo.wordpress.com/in-english/

Yes, I think that was mentioned. I think others from the Tapas 7 were mentioned as well. I remember someone said the JW have some kind of internal code where they investigate child abuse within their ranks.

4 — Ian — I agree with you about the re-enactment. I don’t for a second believe the PJ now thinks there was an abduction. They’re going to charge the McCanns eventually and they’re right now neutralizing future defense claims that they never took the abduction theory seriously.

Interesting.
“It was quite strange, actually,” Clarence goes on. “The psychic said that Milly would be found in woodland and she was.” He pauses. “Even the Met occasionally uses psychics as an active line of inquiry.”
Obviously Clarence is convinced by the spookiness of the psychic abilities of some people. As its getting near to Halloween a nationwide seance should be performed.
As most bodies are found in woodland or marshy areas as opposed to telephone kiosks or ice-cream vans I suppose there is always a chance that any psychic on any given day will be right. Has anyone come up with ‘in a Rif village with an old lady and a goat’?

Thanks – I’m REALLY struggling with Babelfish’s translation. I can see that it attributes the comment to Russell, but I have to say that the comment attributed to him doesn’t appear unreasonable, irrespective of whether the friends or family are involved. i.e. It makes perfect sense in either case to have only one source of information going to the media.
The quote does not read as a “Pact of Silence”, which would sound altogether more sinister and implies they have something to hide?

“If the McCanns knew the girl was dead, and solicited contributions to find her based on a concocted abduction story, that would be out and out FRAUD on a grand scale.”
Hmm, never seen it this way…

Stevo I was only partially joking. Was going to ask what they key word is to make a few others disappear.
But seriously, what’s the matter with the McCanns being checked out - iss that what you are implying? It’s already been reported that their backgrounds are going to be checked more diligently than previously. Why is this idea so upsetting to Stig?

lol Ruth I missed the hubby with wandering hands travelling up skirt! Please tell me Anorak is not a more excitining past time than playtime with your beloved?
How many more marriages will Anorak destroy before he’ss satisfied? Someone needs to notify a UK social organisation before Anorak desecrates the sanctity of matrimony with a deeper vengance than we’ve already witnessed! Is there a Ministry of Shagging or something like that?

- why is it that metodo 3 a private company is better equipped to investigate any sightings than the police in spain or morocco or Portugal? they themselves admit that they pass on information to the police because they cannot investigate.

not sure if anyone else spotted this story from the guardian:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,,2198928,00.html?gusrc=rss&feed=networkfront
I telephone Clarence Mitchell, the spokesman for Kate and Gerry McCann. “The Portuguese and Leicestershire police have had over 1,000 psychic tip-offs,” he tells me, “and they’ve followed up between 10% and 15% of them.”
“What do you mean when you say ‘followed up’?” I ask.
“If there’s anything demonstrably checkable,” he says, “an address, a car registration, a flight number, they check.” He gives me an example: “One psychic telephoned Leicestershire police to say she’d had a vision of Madeleine playing with other children in a named farm in Seville. The Leicestershire police called the Spanish police who went and kicked a few doors in.”
Clarence says that none of this should come as a great surprise. “Some forces in England use psychics,” he points out. “They were used on the Milly Dowler case.” Thirteen-year-old Milly Dowler vanished on her way home from school in Walton-on-Thames in March 2002. Her body was discovered six months later.
“It was quite strange, actually,” Clarence goes on. “The psychic said that Milly would be found in woodland and she was.” He pauses. “Even the Met occasionally uses psychics as an active line of inquiry.”

“As far as legal action goes (as some have suggested)… I don’t think it would have a leg to stand on, because the fund has not been used against its stated purpose. *Maybe* there would be something there about misleading advertising, but I would think that would be difficult to make stick.”
If the McCanns knew the girl was dead, and solicited contributions to find her based on a concocted abduction story, that would be out and out FRAUD on a grand scale. It would not matter that the Fund is not a charity, but rather a company.
So the key to winning lawsuits against the McCanns, may be to prove that they have known Madeleine is dead.

A lot of the time I’ll give Stig credit for writing good posts even if more often than not I don’t agree with him.
But yesterday when I suggested the McCanns being checked out by Experian, he hit the roof.

All one need do is mention a credit agency and this will make Stig disappear? Is that why he’s not active today? Or will be suddenly pop up?

I know I will probably get an ear blasting from some for saying this but had the parents been unemployed would the british government carried on paying thier benefits while they were out of the country to enable them to keep up with thier bills etc , I highly doubt it ,maybe it is not all of thier own doing but many of the things that have been done and said since madeliene went missing have not helped at all.

My mother told me a friend of hers (female) was sexually abused all her childhood by her parents who were Jehovah’s Witnesses. I remember last week there was a thread of discussion in here about that. What prompted it? I can only find Murat’s German girlfriend as a Jehovah’s Witness but I can’t find any info on this relating to any others of the T9.

Salomon ES Says:
“I wouldn’t be surprised if in the next days the PJ comes out to say that all lines of investigation are still open but that the abduction theory is very high in the agenda (this will mean start preparing public opinion to close the case and say - Madeleine was snatched and don’t know where she is).”
This is as well my impression, although they will also say that they have seriously analysed the hypothesis of an involvement of the parents, but without a conclusive result. Their main concern must be to sell the fact that the case remains unsolved (which us nothing unusual) without appearing incompetent.
“The only question I would still have is IF and WHEN will the portuguese courts give access to the file of evidence that suggested the mcCanns involvement. I reckon there would be some damning information there (maybe not enough to secure a conviction) but at least for some in the british press and government to question who they were siding with.”
I think it would be unusual to publish such information. If there is not enough evidence for charges to be made, it would be bad style to publish details of your private life that do not prove anything, but are likely to harm your reputation.
October 30th, 2007 at 1:16 pm
I could tell how much the McCanns make and what’s in their portfolio just by the size of Gerry’s nose and Kate’s breasts. Male with large puddy-like sloping nose which points crookedly to the side with female having emaciated non-nurturing breasts always means good finances and the magical ability to abscond with money from wherever and whomever they encounter.

Stig got a little hot under the collar yesterday because I mentioned a credit agency. Personally I think he’s closer to the McCanns than we think. Edit….
Thanks for the support. As always I like to emphasise to everyone in here that it’s not about pro or anti McCann…it’s about pro-Madeleine and finding out what happened to her.
Wonder why?

Who knows in truth about what allegiances posters in here may or may not have. I’ve noted that certain parties no longer respond to my ‘thoughtful’ posts..
I am a little concerned however that wheels are about to fall off the bus in La La Land!
And yes, I totally agree, the core issue here is what happened to Madeleine.
