Edit…
They do get me down. They are worse than the paedophile who took her> It’s like a sick cult in here. A real sink of iniquity.
None of them care about Madeleine.

That’s a bit of a gross generalisation?
If ‘we’ bother you that much, why do you trouble yourself so by forcing yourself to read our ramblings?

Sorry , they choose to be arguidos, because , that gives them the right to remain silent. They choose , not answer the police the questions they had , instead of cooporate to help the daughter

Any person, parent or not, can waive their right to remain silent. People often do this when they are clearly innocent, and want to help the police catch the real criminal.
Here, “protect” can only mean, to protect one’s self from disgorging information about one’s crime. You can invoke your right to remain silent, but it is then fair to assume that you are hiding something criminal, because the right doesn’t exist outside of that. It’s a right against self-incrimination….

Maybe its a bigger scam than we imagine, maybe they know Maddies is alive in Spain because they arranged it all?
Imagine if they got her back and were proved to have been right all along?
Would have worked a treat would it not?

again why on earth would they want to remain silent

Why are journalists so weak at doing their job, as investigative journalists, I mean. In all forums, people from all over the world ask a million guestions and all together come up with a lot of thinking material for reporters to use. Why the lack of information in the articles in the papers ? I´ve thought inmediately that something strange was happening, from their first interview when Kate said: she lovely etc…. If I were a reporter, I would have made it my lifetime masterpiece of reporting, and would stick with it till the end.

Can someone correct me if i am wrong.
“Arguido status is given to protect the suspect”
Why on earth would any parent want to be an official suspect in their childs disappearance
October 30th, 2007 at 7:08 pm
793. No need to fall either side. Stay on the fence!
The problem is there isnt one simple thing for them to be guilty of. If we were discussing carelessness with ones children which (in my view) goes beyond the boundary of criminality, then one would have to admit they are guilty.
But if we are talking about causing direct harm to their child, unproven.
Abduction? I dont think so, but I (we) dont have any evidence either way.
Being irritating and self righteous? Guilty.
Using the same words too often? Guilty.
Telling lies of one kind or another? Well, I for one think guilty!
etc (got bored).

673 – Rationalist
We don’t believe that the people taking care of kidnapped child in these mountains know anything about the crime they are hiding. We have seen several criminal networks use the innocence of people who knows nothing of this reality, who cannot imagine ½ a percent of it, so to have the blame on them if anything turns wrong. It just requires an old aunt or whatever, who will be happy to make a little money, thinking doing good for the child, for her health in the mountains or whatever. It also requires a few clever lies so that when the child learns the language, what he or she will not be understood the right way. I myself got trapped by the lies of a network and spent five months wondering what was wrong with what these people told me. When enough time is passed, it is not so dangerous to travel with the child, they come and get him or her, and then the bad time starts.
I would not believe a minute the money is made by these people who are obviously not very wealthy. You can be sure they know nothing of the reward. What went wrong in the McCann case, is that the story covered the entire world, as normally, I just keep local.

I have been teetering on the edge for several weeks now, how close soon before some concrete evidence gives me a strong push on either side

They aren’t in Portugal because they know she’s dead, and the PJ will watch them, and the priest won’t talk to them anymore and people will throw trash at them in the streets there and scream out, “Murderers! Go home!”
so, they left.
October 30th, 2007 at 7:00 pm
788 Of course.
The problem is there isnt any evidence of abduction except the words of people who arent perceived as as being honest. Consequently even the weakest evidence (of which there is lots)is perhaps given more credibility than it might otherwise recieve.

JCB, we all have the right to express our views on this site and it would not be the same if we all agreed completely with each other.
However, it will be interesting to see what the “best investigators in the world” will turn up. Also, put yourself in their position. Would you:-
1). Activly look for your daughter from day 1 to date.
or
2). Spend all your time trying to prove your innocence and constantly replying to rumours in newspapers.
