Maybe its a bigger scam than we imagine, maybe they know Maddies is alive in Spain because they arranged it all?
Ian for pity’s sake what???? Look at them ! How could any mind conceive of such an idea? The suggestion that these normal people, and tht is what they are, normal people like you or me, would hand thair four year old over to some class of criminals in the wilds of Morroco a couple of days before her fourth birthday is nothing short of bizzare! These people made one big blunder, They took part in a system of baby patrol which didn’t work. That is all.
Anyway, Iam back and you still haven’t answered my question about Women’s Hour !

830- No Coincidence- That nanny has told her story publicly, I believe- her name is in the public domain. It’s not Charlotte Pennington, but the other one.

“I have seen one report that one British nanny was sent packing because of media concerns, which is what you would expect to see if the nanny had something that was of a scandalous nature. Who wants a scandal? I’m not criticizing MW.
The idea that the British staff would require protection from the media is ridiculous, in the extreme.”
I dont think it was to protect the staff but more to prevent them for saying anything that might damage MW´s reputation - such as they were aware that children were being left alone in a room unsupervised.

592, Also, if Madeleine’s body is found along the shore by an unknown fisherman or local person, quite by accident, of course, with some seemingly logical explanation of how the body was discovered, this person would be my number one suspect……..
*************************
Yes and it is this fear of being accused and the xenophobic ambience created by the McCann PR machine and UK press is undoubtedly why Portuguese, Spaniards and North Africans and Arabs are not coming forward and when polled majority do not believe the McCanns are innocent in the disappearance of their daughter.

Sorry I am commenting on something you posted way back, but I was just browsing through other forums and Paulo Ries articles etc. I had just finished writing a comment on my belief that McCanns are trying to establish “reasonable doubt” which would force a jury or judge to acquit them regardless of guilt.

827 Stevo.
It’s getting too complicated. Is Kate mad? Is she an alcoholic? Why was the nanny transferred? Are the McCann’s part of a child paedeophilia ring?
My little grey cells are shot. Bye all.

“I really am getting fed up with everyone calling the McCanns”
Caling them what? You should finish your statements - or make them up like they do!!
———————————————————————————————————————————–
Look at the majority of the posts here, you will see what I mean when I say ‘calling them’. Some posters are using the most vile language to describe the McCanns. As I am a pro-McCann I feel that I should also have my ‘pennies worth’ and support them as much as I can. You can’t tell me that every one of you that post on here haven’t done something that they regret. If you have children, you cannot say that you have not left them unattended at some stage and regretted it when you thought what the consequences may have been. If you do, I’m afraid I don’t believe you.

THERE ABSOLUTLY IS NO WAY THAT……
Two Dads on holiday with their kids would do this ….
1—-go to check the welfare of tiny kiddie all alone at night in room-find child being violently sick, enough to request a bedding change. Then just go back to bar to finnish dinner.
NO WAY —This is what would happen…Call partner and ask if they could bring your dinner back and stay in and watch tv or something….
2 go check your kiddie.. only 40 months old and in your opinion absolutly impossible for her to walk out of unlocked appartment. And find shes not in her bed where you suposedly left her but hey! she prob just got up and left the room crossed the living room and got into mummy and daddys bed–You dont even bother to check this child has bed clothes on her and just like Dad number 1 you toodle on back to dinner without even checking her welbeing
Absolutley no way.- These two men are prime suspects for a reason

804- Ian- Truth be told, that VERY scenario is my own personal primary belief about what happened. I don’t mention it much because it’s a bit loony and there’s no real evidence as such, it’s just that given all the weirdnesses of the case, that is my take on it. Maybe not Spain. Maybe Morocoo. Maybe somewhere else in Portugal. Who knows. But that is just my personal feeling on the matter– probably wrong, but it’s what I think happened.

A nanny who worked at the McCanns’ Algarve holiday resort has told private investigators she caught a stranger hiding outside their apartment shortly before Madeleine disappeared.
The ex-Ocean Club worker phoned a special hotline set up by the couple’s private detectives to tell how the man sprinted off after she spotted him lurking in the shadows.
Last night it was claimed she has also told UK police about the mystery man. Respected Spanish daily El Mundo said she contacted British police in June this year.
She is said to have spotted the man in the summer of 2006 as she babysat in the same apartment the McCanns stayed in for a six-year-old boy whose parents were playing tennis.

Madeleine police target Murat again as they reconstruct ‘abduction’
‘They believe us’: Portuguese police finally re-enact Madeleine abduction
She discovered him lurking in bushes near the flats after leaving the flat momentarily.
She told resort managers he was aged between 25 and 35 and looked like a local. He was wearing light-coloured trousers and a blue check shirt.
Madeleine disappeared on May 3 this year.
Barcelona-based private detective agency Metodo 3, which is now working for Gerry and Kate, is believed to have taken a call from the woman last week. She is thought to have worked at the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz for six months. She has not been named.
The McCanns have been made official suspects or “arguidos” by Portuguese police but insist they have nothing to do with their daughter’s disappearance.
They say she was kidnapped and believe she may be in Morocco.
Metodo 3 is investigating several sightings of a young blonde girl with a 60-year-old woman in the lawless Rif mountains in northern Morocco.
The agency is trawling lists of Portuguese paedophiles - and working on the theory she was snatched by someone who stole her to order for a wealthy Moroccan.
Sources close to the McCanns have claimed Portuguese police are now actively investigating the kidnap theory after virtually discounting their involvement in their daughter’s disappearance.
Today new police chief Paulo Rebelo tested the kidnap scenario during his first visit to the McCanns’ holiday apartment since he took over the case.

Actually they have ripped Branson many times so don’t rule it out.

Don’t know if this is accurate but I have read that in a Portuguese court of law, only those statements made in the courtroom can be considered as evidence.

Usually with a 20-something British female nanny/travel rep it’s because they got drunk on the job. At that age and with cheap booze they don’t know how to behave properly.

I don’t know the current going rate for blonde children but i suspect it is not as much as the current reward figure

“Earlier people were talking about Viz. My husband thinks it’s owned by mate of Branson (used to be Virgin books) so no chance of McCann stories. Sigh!”
In that case they will probably do negative stories about the PJ and Moroccans.

571. Sorry Ferdinand but you arer wrong imho. They are blackmailing one another and the threats are because they arer still in the negotiating process or because it is all part of their (both UK and Poruguese government’s pre-arrangement) to have this bickering as yeet another diversion from the reality of situation.

I remember when you woke up as a toddler you’d see faces or other shapes in the pattern in the curtains. I remember my mum ruffling the curtains because I could see a man’s face looking back at me. Stupid things like that are horrors to a small child. What beats me is how you can think it’s ok to leave kids alone like that.
If they had some electronic baby monitor then fine…as long as they could hear the kids if they woke then that sort of distance away would probably be ok. I think the neglect is the whole package of errors:
1. Repeatedly thinking it was ok to leave the toddlers.
2. Leaving the doors unlocked.
3. None of the children being confined to one room.
4. Extreme darkness (assuming the normal lights were left off).
5. No way of listening to your children if they woke/choked/fell on floor banged head etc.
