Madeleine McCann: A Titanic Struggle With The Germans And Slavery In Morocco
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “IS MADELEINE A CHILD SLAVE IN MOROCCO?”
“Madeleine McCann may have been condemned to a life of slavery working as a ‘little maid’ for a rich Arab family…” Or not
Page 5: “’Madeleine will be used as a little maid’” – so suggests Inspector Hicham Alaoui of the Moroccan Police in El Hajeb near Fez
Little maids, notes the paper, are “collected by rich families as ‘curiosities’ as well as servants. A woman from a group called Ecpatuk says such children are “vulnerable to abuse”. The Express sys the girls are abused “physically, emotionally and sexually”. Can Madeleine McCann be among them? Maybe…
“Sacked detective called in to help with the probe” – Chief Inspector Goncalo Amaral is talking with new chief Paulo Rebelo
“Fury over magazine ‘sick’ ads” – German magazine titanic has lampooned the case, using Madeleine’s image in spoof supermarket adverts. Gerry and Kate McCann call it “sick” and “very hurtful”. The magazine says Madeleine McCann is “getting a bit much for many people”
DAILY MIRROR front page: “Clear us… you have no case”
Says a friend of Kate and Gerry McCann: “They are adamant they should now be cleared”, as are many suspects in ongoing investigations
Page 7: “McCann ‘clear us’ demand’” – Says Clarence Mitchell: “If the reports are true clearly it would indicate the police absolutely, and quite rightly, have no case against Kate and Gerry”
DAILY MAIL front page: “Oh. Come off it, Heather, how dare you compare your ordeal to Kate McCann’s?” Heather Mills is on the telly
Page 7: “Police pursuit of McCanns ‘is running out of steam’” – The public prosecutor in Portugal says Kate and Gerry McCann will not face further police interviews “unless detectives can produce stronger evidence against them”
Mark Williams-Thomas, a former detective with Surrey Police, says the McCann’s private detectives could be on the wrong trail in Morocco. Or not
THE SUN page 24: “GERMAN MAG’S SICK JOKES ABOUT MADDIE – McCanns’ horror as spoof ad pokes fun at lost girl”
Ad advert in satirical Titantic magazine promises the kitchen cleaner will “remove all traces at the home” even DNA traces. The adverts warn that just because Madeleine’s face is on the product it does not mean they can be taken for free. The Sun is disgusted. It reproduces the images and the words to allow its readers to share in its disgust
A march on the German embassy is not yet in the planning
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE SICK NEW TWIST – Horror at German abuse of missing tot”
The Germans have her. A German paedo!
Page 7: “TOTALLY SICK – A full reproduction of the spoof adverts. “McCann’s agony as rag mocks hunt for Maddie.” Thanks to the Star and Sun, the McCanns now know that an obscure German magazines has made jokes about their case
Says Clarence Mitchell: “It shows Madeleine herself no respect… The magazine did not seek permission to use Madeleine’s image to be used on this so-called joke. It they had it would almost certainly not have been given”
So much for doing anything to keep Madeleine in the news
THE INDEPENDENT page 5: “Mills: I am treated as badly as Kate McCann and Diana.” More on Lady Mucca
THE TELEGRAPH page 9: “Madeleine police ‘consult sacked head of inquiry’” – chief inspector Goncalo Amaral is on the case. Sort of
The paper says detectives are “no closer to solving the case”. And the campaign to find Madeleine goes on…

1205 Maria.
Read your mail. Of course there is a chance that the Mccanns may be guilty of no more than leaving their kids, or as Peter rightly says they may no be guilty of that - though that makes them guilty of something else. I suspect that they may be guilty of leaving their kids and not checking so often as they say - and its made them look very suspicious.
I have a theory - my personal most likely - thats Kate felt very uncomfortable about leaving the kids and may even have been persuaded it was ok by others - maybe O’Brien was concerned that Gerry wasnt treating her right and insisted she have a break from the kids. I believe shid did say ‘theyve taken her’ because she had an idea who might be watching them. To admit this later would make her responsible - as she would know from recent briefings to GP’s (of which I have personal insight). This is why she doesnt ssay she regrets leaving the kids, only regretting not being there at the time, as she puts it.
I dont and never have, beleived they deliberately did anything to her, though I do have moments whn I suspect them of worse than neglect.
The problem I have with them is they say things which raise suspicions all the time. Kate says odd things about things the twins say which her friends hear, not things they say to her. Would friends want to upset her, so would they tell her? Im not unreasonable and not overly suspicious but they seem quite expert at making me suspicious even when Im starting to wonder if we arent being too suspicious!
In summary, yes we have no real evidence of much, but I still maintain there is no evidence at all of abduction and their constant calls for everyone to search and failing to consider anything else, is suspicious and illogical.

Something that’s bothered me from the start is the location of the apartment. It is THE ideal apartment for someone to target for a robbery/kidnapping and i don’t think its location is a coincidence. Also the location of the resort.
I wonder if the Mccanns were allocated that apartment or did they request it.

1206 Maria - You are too intelligent to waste your time here and especially with them.

Has anyone seen a picture of Madeleine with Cuddle Cat or is it really Mummy’s?
November 1st, 2007 at 11:20 pm
I was reading the latest old news about Metodo 3 looking for the girl with the “mark of Madeleine” as it calls her eye defect. Appears that the woman went to a village, Housima, with her in a taxi (spotted by another Spanish tourist) - and there the trail has gone cold. Maybe it should be it’s the town of Al Houceima in the same province(pop 100,000) which would be more difficult to search. That of course was in August when CRG was in Morocco.

what intrigues me is that a couple of the Tapas 9 kept going to check on her because she had been sick and kept going back to the Tapas Bar. Now, in my books, that’s odd: if the child had vomited when nobody was with her and chocked on her own vomit -and I have been told it takes only 3 minutes, the parents surely should have been prosecuted for negligence. Think of having a sick child in your mind when dining with friends… My view is that the McCanns were cavalier with their child minding arrangements; the other couple were staggering irresponsible. The most likely mishap in the McCanns home would have been that one of the kids woke up and cried and in the process woke the others -no British parent that I know off would take that risk. It is one thing to put kids in bed earlier to have a bit of the evening to yourself and quite another to go out without a babysitter.

good evening hows it going? As far as garth is concerned YES he is definately a tosspot (thats a fact)
November 1st, 2007 at 11:12 pm
1222 Peter. Agree on your point about ‘leaving the kids alone’. Could be that they are saying that to cover something worse!
However I suspect they did, as there was talk of the kids crying on previous nights and complaints to the Mark Warner management. Could have led them to use some way of keping the kids silent and avoid the complaints (makes ones blood run cold, but might be jsut being over imaginative!). Not read the other ideas yet..
Just going to look now.

1219 - I dont think they had a big enough fridge either.
Time to move with rest of world and admit that Madeleine has been abducted and all the horseshit that has been pandered around this site and others such sites and papers will go down in history as the cruelest most evil barrage to a grieving family of our time.

Rebelo is looking like my new super hero. Where in the name of God was he on May 3rd when he was needed? instead we got that waste of lard Gonzalo Amaral.
Now bring back Olegário Sousa clear the Mcanns and Murat and bust the child trafickers and paedo rings that plague the world.

Ian and Stevo
Do you think it is POSSIBLE that the McCanns did not do any of the following :
Edit…
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I know you didn’t my opinion, but as it’s a public forum hope you don’t me commenting.
Don’t what Ian and Steve think, but all of the scenarios you mention are possibilities. Nobody who posts in this forum has any knowledge of the police investigation or any of the parties that are alleged in any way to be related to Madeleine’s disappearance. So, how could any of us exclude any of the scenarios you mentioned? Some of us may have very strong opinions about the most likely scenarios, but none of us have access to the evidence to prove/disprove our theories – allegedly.
One thing I would like to pick you up on, you say:
“from the guilt of leaving the children alone…….we know for certain they did that”
Just because the McCann’s told us they did that, it doesn’t mean we have to accept that they did, or, if they did, that they left all the children they say they did in the apartment.
November 1st, 2007 at 10:59 pm
tinsel 1026,
I agree with every word you say. The Mccanns are fakes and frauds and making money out of the disappearance of their daughter.
November 1st, 2007 at 10:57 pm
1204 - the real stig
It wasnt child neglect. It was careless child minding but not neglect.

Remigius
I dont believe the McCanns involved at all. But, what about O’Brian, he would of been the only person entering that room without creating any suspicion. He was a long time away from the table tending his sick child, apparently. Could he and Tanner be involved do you think?

Tinsel- 1206
It is very interesting to see the case gradually coming to light through the actions of the police who obviously have more than DNA evidence–but also impartial witness testimony, and cell phone records as well.
How do you work that one out?
November 1st, 2007 at 10:49 pm
1205 Maria
It is possible, but it’s so very unlikely.
Even a clever stranger would leave some kind of trace.
and those sniffer dogs….
And the McCanns’ own increasingly bizarre, self-serving statements….

1176 Ade Says:
“Ferdinand: “As Metodo 3 seem to be so sure to find Maddie, I think they are already in contact with whoever’s got her, negotiating about ransom and a discreet handover.”
I’m not so sure - they stated that they would find her within the next 5 months. That’s about how long they have left on their contract…”
5 months, that’s the upper bound.
Why are they so sure that they do not endanger the child while claiming that they have a lead? Maybe because they know the abductor won’t kill her, because then he would get nothing.
Supposed the abductor demands an astronomial amount. He thinks that time is on his side. How could you beat him down? Put pressure on him by signalling that you breathe down his neck.

yes, it is usually a risky, time-consuming process.
Kind of makes you wonder whether they used a surrogate womb, or another woman’s egg, or both.
If the problem was that Gerry shoots blanks, then they could simply inseminate Kate with someone else’s sperm, and likely achieve a viable pregnancy for a lot less money. If the issue is Kate’s eggs, then that becomes more complicated. You can get a surrogate mother to be inseminated, or buy a “genius” egg, then inseminate it into a young, healthy woman.
Otherwise, lining up sperm and egg in the petri dish is a lot more difficult than people might imagine. And if the conditions are not exactly right in the woman’ uterus, she may miscarry.
Funny, there’s a wedding pic, there’s a black and white family pic, but there are no pregnancy pics of either Madeleine or the twins that I’ve seen.
