Madeleine McCann: A Titanic Struggle With The Germans And Slavery In Morocco
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “IS MADELEINE A CHILD SLAVE IN MOROCCO?”
“Madeleine McCann may have been condemned to a life of slavery working as a ‘little maid’ for a rich Arab family…” Or not
Page 5: “’Madeleine will be used as a little maid’” – so suggests Inspector Hicham Alaoui of the Moroccan Police in El Hajeb near Fez
Little maids, notes the paper, are “collected by rich families as ‘curiosities’ as well as servants. A woman from a group called Ecpatuk says such children are “vulnerable to abuse”. The Express sys the girls are abused “physically, emotionally and sexually”. Can Madeleine McCann be among them? Maybe…
“Sacked detective called in to help with the probe” – Chief Inspector Goncalo Amaral is talking with new chief Paulo Rebelo
“Fury over magazine ‘sick’ ads” – German magazine titanic has lampooned the case, using Madeleine’s image in spoof supermarket adverts. Gerry and Kate McCann call it “sick” and “very hurtful”. The magazine says Madeleine McCann is “getting a bit much for many people”
DAILY MIRROR front page: “Clear us… you have no case”
Says a friend of Kate and Gerry McCann: “They are adamant they should now be cleared”, as are many suspects in ongoing investigations
Page 7: “McCann ‘clear us’ demand’” – Says Clarence Mitchell: “If the reports are true clearly it would indicate the police absolutely, and quite rightly, have no case against Kate and Gerry”
DAILY MAIL front page: “Oh. Come off it, Heather, how dare you compare your ordeal to Kate McCann’s?” Heather Mills is on the telly
Page 7: “Police pursuit of McCanns ‘is running out of steam’” – The public prosecutor in Portugal says Kate and Gerry McCann will not face further police interviews “unless detectives can produce stronger evidence against them”
Mark Williams-Thomas, a former detective with Surrey Police, says the McCann’s private detectives could be on the wrong trail in Morocco. Or not
THE SUN page 24: “GERMAN MAG’S SICK JOKES ABOUT MADDIE – McCanns’ horror as spoof ad pokes fun at lost girl”
Ad advert in satirical Titantic magazine promises the kitchen cleaner will “remove all traces at the home” even DNA traces. The adverts warn that just because Madeleine’s face is on the product it does not mean they can be taken for free. The Sun is disgusted. It reproduces the images and the words to allow its readers to share in its disgust
A march on the German embassy is not yet in the planning
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE SICK NEW TWIST – Horror at German abuse of missing tot”
The Germans have her. A German paedo!
Page 7: “TOTALLY SICK – A full reproduction of the spoof adverts. “McCann’s agony as rag mocks hunt for Maddie.” Thanks to the Star and Sun, the McCanns now know that an obscure German magazines has made jokes about their case
Says Clarence Mitchell: “It shows Madeleine herself no respect… The magazine did not seek permission to use Madeleine’s image to be used on this so-called joke. It they had it would almost certainly not have been given”
So much for doing anything to keep Madeleine in the news
THE INDEPENDENT page 5: “Mills: I am treated as badly as Kate McCann and Diana.” More on Lady Mucca
THE TELEGRAPH page 9: “Madeleine police ‘consult sacked head of inquiry’” – chief inspector Goncalo Amaral is on the case. Sort of
The paper says detectives are “no closer to solving the case”. And the campaign to find Madeleine goes on…

Ignore, ignore!
I love my name! It isn’t regal at ALL! And it really IS my real name!
Meanwhile, back to nailing the guilty, as Columbo says.

Sorry…not sure. I don’t get other than the BBC Channel here in the US and I can’t find info on that story. I’d expect Clarence to be there though - especially if there were reporters and cameramen on the scene. Wouldn’t you?

Pitty wants to know if K or G looked for Maddie, physically joined any of the searches after the night Maddie first went missing? Pitty said that Scott Peterson didn’t look for Lacey, and she thinks not looking is worrisome.

Who exactly is this new poster “A Psychiatrist”
Every so often we get a “new” poster who strangely knows everything about all the other posters in here. Just curious…

Again you people love making things up. Give me a break my child loves to run off when we go grocery shopping because she loves it when I have to chase her up and down the isles. It scares me when she does this but she is super fast and I really have to run fast to catch her. Some children love being chased, this is normal behaviour. I read early on in the case that Madeleine loved playing monsters and being chased. This is more than likely why she ran off, just a little 3 year old having some fun on her holiday.

And Huntley had the same demeanour as the McCanns. I suspect that if the McCanns are guilty, they will do the same as Huntley or Fred West. West took his secrets to the grave with him and Huntley keeps trying to top himself. Oh…and Shipman took the full extent of his crimes with him as well.

443 remigius (ridiculous name….who ever suggested you were regal)
Don’t be so pathetic. A lot of posters find Stevo to be a man (?) with too much time on his hands and an overactive imagination. Don’t ever suggest we all hold him up to be some Godly font of all knowledge because we don’t.
You can hold him up in high regard but i most certainly don’t. Speak only for yourself.OK??

I don’t need an open diary. I need the parents to answer all the questions truthfully. I need the parents to stop lying and performing. I neeed the parents to do exactly what parents are supposed to do. Love and protect their offspring. The McCanns are manipulating and feeding off their dead child. Full stop. Hope to die in a cellar full of rats.

We all just want the truth Dora. The McCanns don’t say anything or properly respond to questions so how else is anyone going to find out the truth?

were killed.

You mean, where the McCanns went when they may have finally disposed of Madeleine’s body, or whatever was left of it?

Yep. Isn’t that where she was singing while ironing? I said karaoke but what you say sounds more familiar. But anyway…Dora is right…it doesn’t happen. What you and I saw were mirages.

Add to your post that they don’t even look like a loving, caring couple. Their body language is all staged and doesn’t look one bit like they are a couple who are all over each other with public displays of affection. It’s all acted displays of affection.

Footage of Milly dowler ironing in her dining room was shown on the news after she disappeared. Her body was found many months later

Everynight was Halloween for those poor toddlers. I loved to take my kids out in the evenings when on holiday. My son started to walk during a holiday in Malta when he was 11 months old. We took him everywhere and I wouldn’t have wanted to not have him with us. Why would you? Even if the McCanns had those kids in a push chair beside their table at the Tapas Bar, what was so bad or wrong for them to do that? You have to question their parenting skills but also whether they REALLY loved the children at all or whether the whole thing was a ruse. I firmly believe some people have kids because they realise it’s the right thing to do but aren’t totally 100% behind having them.

Gerry’s voice choked in the first press conference when he was asked a question he didn’t have a prepared answer to. Kate was shaking and wasn’t breathing right.
The next time he choked was when he said he had nothing to do with it.
He also gets angry and Kate gets sarcastic when they’re asked awkward questions about leaving the kids/sedating them etc.
On Mother’s Day outside the Church, both tried to look and sound as if they were overcome by emotion, but failed (Gerry esp. did some dreadful acting - look it up on YouTube - that was the day I decided I felt sorry for Madeleine, but I didn’t much care for them).
Kate wiped away one tear in the last interview they gave - although according to Allison Pearson, she howled like a wounded animal.
They also pose for the most unbelievably naff and irrelevant family pictures with the twins and on their own - looking either happy (with the kids) or noble (without them). The whole carrying cuddle cat about in public situation looks fake as hell (she’ll put it in a bag but make sure the head is sticking out - that is meant to look sincere?)

Yeah, I’ve got a bee up my butt, and I’m single-minded in my posting today. Please bear with me.
Following up my 452 post
Today’s post (Nov. 1) (which is yesterday in Australia, which is where the blog is from) by Mike Hitchen is all about asking questions: The McCanns: Why?
http://ionglobaltrends.blogspot.com/2007/11/mccanns-why.html
In it he writes:
—-
I honestly feel we will know at least part of answer in the near future, though I doubt we will ever know the full sordid story of fear, protection and called in favours.
—
Doesn’t read like it’s written by someone who currently has the answers now does it?

Normally we do not get this amount of media coverage or public obsession with a missing child’s case. So people have started dissecting everything , every photo, every gesture, every word uttered, every glance of the eye, every family member even members of the public who think the McCanns are innocent are dissected on this site. Why do you need an open diary of Madeleine’s life? I’ll tell you why because you would love to feed off it, manipulate it and then come up with some BS gossip so that you feel like you achieved something for the day just like Heideki with her photo analysis.

Yes, it makes me weep. When I was small, I often cried out for drinks of water. Was I thirsty? No. I just wanted to know my parents were there. I imagined things hiding under the bed, toys opening their eyes, faces in the curtains. Kids have vivid imaginations and need to be reassured that their parents are right there. If it’s true that Madeleine ran and hid because she didn’t want to go to bed, then it’s unbelievable. No night time stories for those kids, I think. Was she afraid of worse things than toys and shadows?

Strange behaviour. What was she running away from? Usually you run because you know what is going to happen? And you dont like it? Not likely that that thing was sleep, is it? Now I’m very worried.
Is what you said fact?

Yes, frantic is the word to use. Not only that but if your child was prone to running off because it didn’t want to go to bed and be left (again), that tells you not to do it night after night.
