There is no comparison to a child running off in the shop or on the park, most active bright children wil do this, but to hide for half an hour is not normal and is usually a sign of attention, they expect the parents to at least go and look for them. It took them half an hour- go figure! Also if your child is known to be this way a close eye is usually given- it’s very macabre that now -her eye is the focus of the world. Why?

I know pervs are highly opportunistic, I was really commenting on the time frame and the pattern of checking that the McCanns have given. They say Madeleine was alone for only 15 mins - and there’s no way he could have predicted when those 15 mins were going to be, and no one has seen a man hanging about for hours every night. He could be a waiter or something?
The man who took the girl from the bath was caught, because the risk he took was stupid - the mother knew the girl was missing and phoned the police within minutes. I would expect some more concrete sightings of a man hanging around if it was that difficult for him.

I would like to see evidence that KM did actually search on the night of 3 May. I recall reading that she stayed in the apartment and did not join the search, which I thought strange at the time.
If Inspector Gadget and Pitty are correct I believe this is a significant tell-tale sign.

John, I agree with your points about the abduction by stranger theory. If it is true than the kidnapper is the luckiest criminal of the 21st century and the McCanns are the unluckiest.

Never say “never,” never say “always.” But my understanding of pedophiles is that they will do a lot to avoid detection. Some go in one direction, which is to find jobs with lots of child-contact, first of all because it’s highly stimulating for them, and some pedophiles prefer to be stimulated just by being around children, then going home to some pornography and enjoying themselves that way.
Others look for opportunity, which presents itself in child-oriented places (but so does added scrutiny). So many typical pedphiles become work-at-homes, where they don’t have to have office banter and contact with non-stimulating, bothersome adults. They enter professions where they can work alone, at home. And then, they seize whatever opportunities come their way, like the child selling candy door-to-door for their school, the child seeking a lost puppy….
Then, there is the relative pedophile….who thinks he will never be suspected, and doesn’t need to worry about getting in and out of the child’s bedroom because, well, he’s been invited over for the weekend! Or he’s baby sitting! He knows the child well enough to know what makes the child tick, and manipulates the child into not tattling.
The evil stranger who snatches a child from their bed in the dead of night surely exists, but they are an exceedingly rare breed of pedophile. And most likely, it is someone who knows the family, or lives nearby and knows the routine.
With so much back and forth checking that allegedly went on in Portugal at MW, the chances of a pedophile wanting to snatch a child under the very real chance of being caught seem rather slim.

I am still pondering over the experts saying that an abduction would take minutes, inside job etc.
Well a couple of points which may well have been touched on before so I apologise in advance:-
If it was so well organised why did the abductor remain in the apartment half an hour after the McCanns had left it to go to the tapas bar- surely the abductor would have been aware of when they left.
What kind of random abductor goes in to a dark apartment on the off chance that no adult is there and that the children are there. If the random abductor had seen the parents leave surely the best time for the abduction was within a few minutes of them having left.

i am quite sure that gerry has been living off of donated money for the last 6 months and since he will not have his mind on his proper job he will continue doing so.
the only difference being, that prior to his return to work the choice to give money was the donators, now there is a man at work without his heart or mind on the job being given nhs money. there is no chioce for people to pay him now

I was the one who posted the original anonymous response on Mike Hitchen’s blog today. I’ve been a regular contributor to his blog for a few months but I didn’t want to offend him with my post. I thought it was a very mild criticism, but he responded by calling me a chook and all sorts of things.
I also agree with your sentiments that he’s getting too big for his boots and is misleading people and his ‘disciples’ with his ‘knowledge’ of the McCanns. He’s a fake, I realise that now. It doesn’t matter how politely you criticise him you get a right old earful back again. He’s not nice.

You make a reference in the post to the possible abductor being ‘one brave perv’. Paedophiles are prepared to take chances. They are desperate and they are clever. Comparable to a drug user and his next hit. Nothing will get in the way of their next fix.
It wasn’t long ago that that necky sexual predator took a chance through the back door of a family home in Newcastle, helping himself to the little girl in the bath while her mother was sat in the lounge. What was the likelihood of getting caught in that instance?
The dirty little sex offender crept quietly in to the rear of the house, probably tip-toeing up the stairs to grab the child and escape the same way.
Don’t fool yourself that Paedophiles won’t grab an opportunity like that, especially if they have been sizing up your kid in the days before, watching the family routine.

The local searching by all and sundry (including the McCanns and their group) went on for days.
It was filmed for all the news channels…….
Uh first of all that would still be hearsay. YOU did not witness the event. So your inane misinformation is just that: inane misinformation like much of your tripe.
Hearsay: Evidence based on what the witness has heard someone else say, rather than what the witness has personally experienced or observed.
Second of all the police did not pereceive the assistance of locals and visitors (Aren’t “locals” and “residents” the same? Why the need to be redundant?) as “irritating”. Now you are either lying outright or have once again erred on believing hearsay.
Last, from information I was given firsthand - not only were the police grateful of locals and visitors assisting in the search for Madeleine but from my firsthand account only Gerry and one other male from the McCann group went out on searches - no one else did and this includes Kate. Kate did not search nor did the rest of the group except for another male which my contact believes was O’Brien. None of the others took part in the searches.
I used to give you the benefit of the doubt but now I know exactly what kind of “honest” person you are.

I think they took unpaid leave to look virtuous - but it was a pointless gesture, and it backfired in the end - all gestures do, that’s why they should ditch the P.R., and do and say what they feel and believe, even if they look bad sometimes, at least they’d look natural.

I must say that I don’t know any young professional who’d dip their hand into the till of money set aside to “find” their lost child or pay the ransom! They might try the mommy and daddy bank, they might talk to their lender, they might, uhm…take a second job? Or work, oh, three days a week instead of two? I mean, if you only work two days a week somewhere, how do you even know where your parking space is?
The McCanns’ methods of solving their financial problems seem strange to me, and to others.
In the light most favorable to the McCanns, they appear to be very immature people. That they are both in the “caring” professions with such immaturity is, well, frightening.
In the light most unfavorable to the McCanns, such immaturity and insolvency provide a motive for murder.
Going to get more coffee now, so my family knows I am still alive.
