Madeleine McCann: A Titanic Struggle With The Germans And Slavery In Morocco
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “IS MADELEINE A CHILD SLAVE IN MOROCCO?”
“Madeleine McCann may have been condemned to a life of slavery working as a ‘little maid’ for a rich Arab family…” Or not
Page 5: “’Madeleine will be used as a little maid’” – so suggests Inspector Hicham Alaoui of the Moroccan Police in El Hajeb near Fez
Little maids, notes the paper, are “collected by rich families as ‘curiosities’ as well as servants. A woman from a group called Ecpatuk says such children are “vulnerable to abuse”. The Express sys the girls are abused “physically, emotionally and sexually”. Can Madeleine McCann be among them? Maybe…
“Sacked detective called in to help with the probe” – Chief Inspector Goncalo Amaral is talking with new chief Paulo Rebelo
“Fury over magazine ‘sick’ ads” – German magazine titanic has lampooned the case, using Madeleine’s image in spoof supermarket adverts. Gerry and Kate McCann call it “sick” and “very hurtful”. The magazine says Madeleine McCann is “getting a bit much for many people”
DAILY MIRROR front page: “Clear us… you have no case”
Says a friend of Kate and Gerry McCann: “They are adamant they should now be cleared”, as are many suspects in ongoing investigations
Page 7: “McCann ‘clear us’ demand’” – Says Clarence Mitchell: “If the reports are true clearly it would indicate the police absolutely, and quite rightly, have no case against Kate and Gerry”
DAILY MAIL front page: “Oh. Come off it, Heather, how dare you compare your ordeal to Kate McCann’s?” Heather Mills is on the telly
Page 7: “Police pursuit of McCanns ‘is running out of steam’” – The public prosecutor in Portugal says Kate and Gerry McCann will not face further police interviews “unless detectives can produce stronger evidence against them”
Mark Williams-Thomas, a former detective with Surrey Police, says the McCann’s private detectives could be on the wrong trail in Morocco. Or not
THE SUN page 24: “GERMAN MAG’S SICK JOKES ABOUT MADDIE – McCanns’ horror as spoof ad pokes fun at lost girl”
Ad advert in satirical Titantic magazine promises the kitchen cleaner will “remove all traces at the home” even DNA traces. The adverts warn that just because Madeleine’s face is on the product it does not mean they can be taken for free. The Sun is disgusted. It reproduces the images and the words to allow its readers to share in its disgust
A march on the German embassy is not yet in the planning
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE SICK NEW TWIST – Horror at German abuse of missing tot”
The Germans have her. A German paedo!
Page 7: “TOTALLY SICK – A full reproduction of the spoof adverts. “McCann’s agony as rag mocks hunt for Maddie.” Thanks to the Star and Sun, the McCanns now know that an obscure German magazines has made jokes about their case
Says Clarence Mitchell: “It shows Madeleine herself no respect… The magazine did not seek permission to use Madeleine’s image to be used on this so-called joke. It they had it would almost certainly not have been given”
So much for doing anything to keep Madeleine in the news
THE INDEPENDENT page 5: “Mills: I am treated as badly as Kate McCann and Diana.” More on Lady Mucca
THE TELEGRAPH page 9: “Madeleine police ‘consult sacked head of inquiry’” – chief inspector Goncalo Amaral is on the case. Sort of
The paper says detectives are “no closer to solving the case”. And the campaign to find Madeleine goes on…

They didn’t need to be on unpaid leave.
They would be entitled to a sick line because of the stress they were under.

If it were me, I’d be searching till I dropped. The time would have no relevance to anything.

No. The waiter said that every night the men would get up to check on the children but on that night only one person got up - Kate.

702. Ade, I never said Kate was involved in the searches. At least not the first 3 days. Please reread my message. It was told to me firsthand that only Gerry and one male from the McCann party assisted May 3rd-6th. If Kate and the others got involved the following week I am not sure but that would not impress me. By the 4th day it would be a pretty mute point to go out looking for her when the effort had not been made heretofore.
My other point was that coolandcalms’ subtle xenophobic remark is a lie. The police were grateful so many residents and guests helped to look for Madeleine. And they are still grateful to the public for any and all assistance in this investigation.

fencesitter … as of last count it was only Will and myself, although will admit I’ve just come on here and haven’t read any of the other posts, but as of bedtime last night it’s only Will and myself attending! Seems as if the others wish to remain anonymous and will not back up their statements face to face with anyone?

I remember that, too. In fact, I think I recall Kate saying that she wasn’t up to looking for quite some time, but it didn’t mean she wasn’t working on solving Madeleine’s disappearance in other ways. I do recall that was a real quote from a live interview.
We need Stevo to make us a video.

“684 well excuse me matey! What im saying is it is suspicious for them to have taken unpaid leave and if i remember rightly gerry said on his blog at some point that they were not using the fund for their own benefit so that was an outright lie wasn’t it.”
Everybody knew that they were on unpaid leave to stay in Portugal to organize the search for their daughter. I think that was widely accepted by the donators. It is clear that their living expences had to be brought up somehow, and those include of course mortgage rates. I can well imagine that most of their savings were used 2006 to buy the house. I don’t think they have financial problems in general, on the long run, but that they lack liquidity right now.
However, for PR reassons, it was unwise to use the fund for their mortgage rates.

No, no no…you must get Pitty to wear a wire, disguise herself with a wig and clothing, and go to the pub where the Leicester doctors hang out, and get her to get the info.

I think we’re still slightly at cross purposes - my point was the time frame, but anyway…
Maybe it was a waiter, or a tourist who has been to the resort quite a few times. They would know the area, they would be trusted, they might know the McCanns movements well enough for it not to be a risk.
It can’t be a non-resident. I think they would be spotted, it’s a very small place and they only had a week.
Maybe the McCanns lies are a coincidence. Maybe Gerry just has a peculiar personality - his speech before going into work was his usual empty jargon - and I think it was definitely arranged by Clarrie.

lol! I am searching out a scientific paper, “Incidences of female infanticide in cases of parental sterility.”
It sounds like a contradiciton in terms, but it really isn’t, is it?

Ooooo Thea you are such a dear one. Thanks, Pitty and I are up to the feast! And thanks much for the heads-up on the search. Little details are difficult to obtain - nothing in the press. Oh, we’ll bring our own bottle!

McNanny (darling of the pro-McCannics and definitely 100% reliable as a witness) said in the Daily Mail on 25th September:
QUOTE
“Kate and her friend, who was looking after her, were the only ones who weren’t out looking for Madeleine.”
UNQUOTE
I also remember reading this in another article, which went on to quote Kate as saying that although they were not out looking they were very busy.
Mmmmmmmm.

The McCann’s reactions to everything that happens, are not consistent with those of parents of missing children. This is the very first thing about them that started my alarm bells ringing. It is possible for at least one parent to be totally unfeeling and not show emotion at all, but both …. in my books … one in a million chance !?

Hi Jolie
I was the one who wrote “thank you” after one of your posts that defended my original post. That also got jumped on by Mike when he said “oh how sweet” etc. I used to post with my name but as soon as I started to question things I was pounced on which is why I use the anonymous feature. For the past few posts he’s been hinting that he knows something that the rest of us don’t. I now feel it’s just his way of keeping people on the blog because today’s article, to me, showed he didn’t know anything at all - it’s all a bluff. He’s the one who’s pushing his own agenda by trying to get revenge on the British establishment for the reason he’s in Oz. I don’t trust him an inch now - he’s very rude to anyone who dares have a different opinion and resorts to childish name calling which I did not do even to his rude responses. He always attacks peoples’ spelling and comprehension and ridicules them with playground names. That’s not adult or professional in my book. All he’s managed to achieve is a following of sheep who all baaaaa to the same tune. I’m outa there.

Pitty told me she was raped as a teenager by a teacher at her school in Prague. Pitty is a strong woman and no force to be toying with, even, I imagine, as a kid. Well, her teacher thought it all pretty funny and began laughing at her, and we all know Pitty doesn’t take being fooled with kindly, so she picked up a baseball ball and started swinging at his head. The teacher never returned and Pitty just thought “Good” maybe he’s dead.
Pitty is hot on the trail of the killer of our little M. and she’s up to the task! That’s why I love her!

Inspector Gadget,
That is the information I was given about the first 3 or 4 days after Madeleine disappeaered. I will ssee if I can get corroborating information on exactly who searched from the McCann and Tapas Junta from other sources and will post whatever information I find. Regardlesss if it backs up what I have posted today.
My source was in PdL until May 9th and helped search that weekend. So for Friday, Ssaturday and Sunday after Madeleine went missing he saw Gerry and O’Brien (believes the other man to be Russell O) but nevere Kate ( he is certain of this) and is pretty certain that none of the others from the McCann group were looking. At least those first 3 days -which would have been the most vital.
The evening Madeleine disappeared he was told that it was only Gerry and again one man from their group who was looking. This other witness also said Kate was not amongst the searches in those first few hours of Madeleine having disappeared. He was not aware of any others from the McCann party looking late May 3rd and into the early morning hours of the 4th. Again it was his observation that only Gerry and one male from the group.
On a completely separate note: I made linguine puttanesca and have a delicious Sangiovese. I thought you and Pitty might like some. (Sorry no vodka.)

Didn’t the waiter who served them dinner confirm that the children were being checked on every 20 mins or so. I am sure I read this in his interview with the press.

Of course, possible.
Just not very likely.
And what increases that unlikeliness are the odd and inconsistent statements made, very freely, by the McCanns themselves, their money troubles, the speed with which they moved for financial gain, the flurry of lecturing around the world.

I live close to where this happened and the man was a burglar as well as a paedophile. His intention was to rob the house but came across the little girl instead and took his chance. If madeleine was abducted I think this is more likely. When the girl went missing in Tyneside I did”nt believe this was not an inside job but was proven wrong.I have tried to remember this when watching the McCanns but there reactions are just so so wrong.

He wasn’t caught in the house. He managed to escape, with the little girl in his car. He was caught eventually though. The point was he was willing to take the chance at getting caught because the ‘prize’ was worth the punishment.
I do think the McCanns have lied and continued to lie about the regularity of the checks. So the ‘perv’ and his window of opportunity was far wider than the McCanns have stated. IMO

I have only mentioned it because some posters today queried it. It is hardly something I have any interest in entertaining.

Gerry returning to work today:
I can confirm that the management refused to allow him near any patients, gave him disinfectant and a mop, and told him to get rid of the MRSA. They were amazed at the quality job he did and asked him where he learnt to clean up like that.
