Madeleine McCann: Mafia, A Bag Of Clothes And Missing Children
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Maddie DNA clue in airport bag”
A bag of clothes containing “DNA linked to Madeleine McCann” has been found dumped by a road in Portugal.” It is a white carrier bag. It was in a layby two weeks ago near Faro airport.
“The bag contained a blue fleece jacket and a pair of adult jeans with traces of DNA that contained ‘moderate’ links to Madeleine”. And: “There was also a SHOWER CURTAIN inside.” And a white flannel, a green elastic band, a light green child’s T-shirt with a green flower on the front and a pink and blue pencil case with a pink heart motif
“Godfather in Madeleine hunt… Crime godfathers in Morocco—where there have been several alleged sightings of Maddie - have been told cops will scale back drug busts if they do”
SUNDAY MIRROR front page: “MY LITTLE MADDY” - a picture of Madeleine McCann on a pony with Kate McCann by her side
• “McCanns heartache as Cops say: “Case closes in 7 weeks
• Police to leave cloud of suspicion over Kate and Gerry”
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE MYSTERY – McCANN FRIENDS TO BE NAMED AS SUSPECTS”
“Dr Russell O’Brien and his partner Jane Tanner, Matthew Oldfield and Dr David Payne were last night forced to bring in their own lawyers after increasing fears that Portuguese police were preparing to implicate them in the case of the vanished four-year-old girl”
So will they be named as suspects or not? The Express say yes and then prevaricates
DAILY STAR ON SUNDAY front page: “MADDIE SIX MONTHS ON – 15 NEW CLUES”
That picture of Madeleine McCann on a horse. A clue?
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “ANSWER OUR PRAYERS - ON THE SIX-MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF LOSING MADDIE Kate weeps at church service for Maddie as parents suffer crushing blow”
“The devout couple first took two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie for ‘a few moments of solitude’ at their village church to remember missing Maddie”
A solitude watched by person who told the press? No need with Clarence Mitchell to fill in the gaps, Says he: “Kate and Gerry wanted a few moments of solitude praying for Madeleine with the twins”
Inside the church: “A collage of pictures of a happy Maddie - including the one…of her sitting on a black Shetland pony - took pride of place near the altar. Six snaps of the youngster next to smiling faces of other missing children were pinned onto a green notice board. Supporters were encouraged to look at the pictures before praying”
And they pray for…
The People looks at “respected” Portuguese daily Publico, which tells: “Six months on from Madeleine’s disappearance, the police theory remains the same. That the child died by accident in her room - and her parents committed the crime of hiding her body”
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine’s parents hold prayer vigil six months to the minute after she disappeared”
There are about 200 people at the “700-year-old church” near Rothley, Leicestershire
The McCanns are suspects
“Other missing children - including British toddler Ben Needham, who disappeared while on holiday in Greece in 1991, were also remembered at the service”
Did Ben Needham’s family ask for this? Want it?
Says the Rev Rob Gladstone: “Comfort and liberate all those, especially young children who have been taken from their families against their will, give courage to their grieving families”
A board says “Pray for all missing children.” How were the faces on the board selected? Many children are missing
THE INDEPENDENT: “Six months after Madeleine, another 600 are still missing”
Missing persons charities yesterday released figures “showing that more than 600 children have been missing in the UK for as long as Madeleine McCann, and are still unaccounted for”
Many are foreign. Many are teenagers. Not all are blonde
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Prayers for Madeleine McCann, six months on”
“The 3,500-strong population of Rothley - its trees decked in yellow ribbons and messages of support - came to a near standstill as Kate and Gerry arrived from their nearby home”
Locals can’t move for the press?
Rothley is an “affluent Midlands enclave”. This is McCann Land – the enclave - a small territory culturally and ethnically different form the surrounding lands
Says Gerry in his blog: “We have no idea whether she is suffering, but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”
THE GUARDIAN: “Madeleine book notes the ‘contradictions’”
More on Maddie 129, a book by Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia
“The message is that the case just doesn’t add up,” says a representative of the book’s publishers
THE SCOTSMAN: “Six months on, McCanns in new Maddie plea”
The picture of Madeleine on a Shetland pony was taken on a day out at the Hatton Country World park in Warwickshire on April 13 – “less than three weeks before she went missing”
THE TIMES: “Gerry McCann: ‘our princess prayer for Madeleine’”
Gerry McCann’s blog: “It is so painful for us simply being separated, but all the more distressing when we have to speculate about the situation Madeleine finds herself [in]. We have no idea whether she is suffering but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”

i dont think for one moment the pj thinks body was dug up after 25 days, more spin for people to see as impossible, what they have is in their opinion,a case against the mcanns and murat,

The theory that the McCanns utterly destroyed the body is very pursuasive, and would account for their boldness. they might write such a book–the Ramseys did. ONe reason I started reading Anorak was that whole amazing exchange about experimenting with the piggies. I am not sure how long it would have taken to dissolve a child’s body in sulfuric acid. I gather that the incineration (initially suspected) would have been pretty quick, and then one could just dump that into the sea.
One just hopes they made a mistake. Everyone does.
There is a great film with Alain DeLon (sp?) that HOllywood re-made a few years ago–The Talented Mr. Rigby. The character assumes the personality of a man he murders, and hardly anyone is the wiser, but he’d believed he’d disposed of the body at sea. In the French version, he didn’t realize that it had become tangled in a boat line, and when they hauled the boat out of the water, the body was found, and of course, he’s arrested by the same detective he thought he’d so outsmarted.
A great example of cinematic justice. But it seems to really elude us in real life!

Well Alexis - I am sure that if I were in that position - with a £500,000 house and not able to meet the payments for it - I would have sold it and bought a more modest family home - surely in the Leic. area there are ( in fact I know that there are) homes available at a modest £200,000 - they really have got some neck to expect the public to maintain their lifestyle by donation when the reason that they are in that position is that they neglected to look after their children

I think you may be right about your theory about the car and how it got the death scent (and possible corpse remains) in the tire well.
About the CCTV footage. I remember someone who was doing many regular search on news stories and found that Google had hit on a Reuters result that mentioned that there was CCTV evidence from the MW complex that was being used as evidence of the whereabouts of the McCann/Tapas party that night. However, if you clicked on the link, there was no further mention of the CCTV. It was just on the search page. Strange, isn\’t it. It was about the same time there was a rumor that the Tapas were watching the children all together in 5A.

jaques - just letting you know the speculation I read in the media - IF a decomposing body was to be kept for 25 days - it would have HAD to have been frozen - which would acount for the excess fluids supposedly released in the transportation of the body - I am as naive as the next with regard to this but I read that the possibility of freezing had not been ruled out

Remigius,
Imagine they got charged. Mitchell will claim that he believed them, and that he was only their “voice”, so anything he said was representing their opinions. He will get away with it.
His professional reputation will not suffer either, because, I believe, his real job description is not to truly defend Mc. or look reasonable, but to maximize revenues for the media, keep Mc. in the headlines and entertain the readers.
He does come across as a shameless liar IMO, but his conduct is well matching his job goals.
What do you think?
Also, I wanted to ask you: one of the posters suggested your name according to some website (they provided the link). Is it true or they were wrong? (I have no prejudice about that, if true, then it’s nice to know your name, if false, I would rather alert you)

my wife just gone to bed,1,30 am here and said shes worried about me…..being on here but i am sure all of us are just searching for the truth, and even the ultras, pro or con,and in my case learning something from one side or the other which would set something in motion to find out the truth

1028. Peter O and others,
I had thought that Gerry’s miraculous vision which made him a “man possessed” was at the church in PdL? And that this is an Anglican, NOT RC, church?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Thea – Sorry, I may not be explaining myself properly. I’ll try again. I’m a VERY lapsed Roman Catholic and don’t hold with all of this biblical claptrap. However, even going back like 30 years we were taking part in joint services with other Christian denominations. As Maria has pointed out in another of her ‘flowery’ posts, it’s also not unusual that the ‘local church’ in many English towns and villages will be an Anglican church. I’m just trying to point out that there may be nothing to read into the use of an Anglican church rather than an RC one.

No, probably both would have taken sick leave for a while and paid their own mortgage. Eventually both would have gone back to work enveloped in the sympathy of family, friends, neighbours and employers. If you remember the PJ initially didn’t have the expertise to carry out expert searches in the same way as the British police.I am not criticising here, just stating facts. The likelihood is, the case would have been stamped unsolved child abduction and that would have been that. Whatever is mooted now for the first few days, until the hullabaloo, the PJwere satisfied that that was what it was. In the unlikely event of them changing their minds at a later date, who is to say the McCanns wouldn’t have been supported? As regards paying the mortgage with the funds, contributors knew that such expenses would have to be covered if the McCanns were engaged in the task of finding their daughter and not working. It was never a secret.

Thanks for replying Annie - OK in the freezer - what’s the next step (given that you now create a media circus) - on to a secret place in the church?

Please..come on some of you regular posters without accusing anyone just speculate how was the following possible?
where did they keep the keep the body? How did they hide it so quickly in such a way they could recover it later? How did they transport and dispose of it under the glare of the media? Where did they dispose of it when there car movements have been analysed by cctv?
——————————-
jacquescousteau,
correct me if i’m wrong, but didn’t you post these very same questions yesterday? i seem to recall another poster responding to your post as well. you might want to check yesterday’s thread for that response.
night all. out of here for some time. i’m detecting quite some difference in the news reported by the UK press and non-UK press. some marked differences too. i wonder how much of this is really about reporting the truth - that can’t be that difficult, can it? so i think it’s best to just wait this whole thing out, read and not react (if at all possible!). it will all come to an end one day and i look forward to the conclusion of this case.
it’s been great hanging out with you guys. keep up the good work.
ciao!

Do you think the police didn’t take the abduction report seriously?
That’s not the impression I got.
A young person from PDL Portugal wrote into a forum and said that the Navy was in the waters by early morning all along the shores of PDL, the border patrols had been notified within hours to watch for suspicious vehicles, and the streets were full of police officers searching. The first report the police gave the prosecutor said they had followed some 700 leads.
The McCann’s phones were tapped within hours of the reported abduction. Though the McCanns complained about this later as if they had something to hid–it’s standard procedure in abduction cases in case the criminal calls about a ransom or there is any other calls of concern. In fact, the phone taps are how they learned Madeleine’s toy had been washed twice.
I’ve read all the translations I could find from the Portuguese papers on this case, and the police have a very high approval rating their on how they are proceeding.
So I have to ask you, where did you get the idea that they didn’t take the abduction scenario seriously? From the McCann’s complaints after they were made official suspects?

jacquescousteau - Cling film and the huge freezer - under the frozen food. Did you see the size of the freezer in that apartment. It would not be checked when it was an assumed abduction, would it? Just an opinion, no proof, obviously!!

1038 Dr. Watson
I am not sure…I was out most of the day ( have a big project going on), so I missed most of the postings. I did see the ones where someone tried to impersonate you!
Have not too much time right now, but the photo review is very interesting. I am most interested in the truth, of course, as are you. I think that only the DNA will be conclusive as to Baby Grace, and I am not wedded to any particular outcome. But I think we are right to suspect the McCanns. There’s nothing wrong with that.
Can you just catch me up, or direct me to your post?
Thanks ever so much!

Well, it’s reassuring to note that you find some things strange about them, even if they can’t compete with Anorak posters. Care to share the things you do find strange about their behaviours and actions since May 3rd?
Also, while writing, I’m curious about something. Does your name per chance appear on the list of ‘witnesses’ that the McCann’s would like the PJ to interview?

1023 Maria.
I think more people should ridicule the ridiculous - we all pussy foot around respecting these people who beleive in all powerful deities who turn out not to be all powerful at all (the excuse used being ‘acting in mysterious ways their wonders to perform’). People kneeling by beds muttering to themselves - people blowing themselves to bits shouting ‘God is Great’. Insanity.
Nature is in fact cruel - the food chain is hardly fair is it! People write religious texts, not deities.
Anyway, I digress!
Kate ‘gave up’ on the police very very quickly now didnt she! Almost immediately after calling the police (some say BEFORE) she calls Sky TV!
Anyway, heres your requested link.http://newsdeskspecial.co.uk/madeleinemccann/

jacquescousteau,
Allegedly one of the Tapas men (not Gerry) had a hire car during the week of May 3rd. I don’t see why they could not have disposed of M’s body that evening before the alarm was sounded? The DNA evidence found later in a different hire car, the one leased by the McCanns, could be attributed to their having stored perhaps bedding or clothing M was wrapped in and wearing when she died or was murdered (I tend to think the death accidental but the cover up not). This explains the DNA in the McCann hire car.
Are you sure there is cctv footage around the resort? I’ve not heard of any other than the tape from the restaurant which was dated incorrectly. If there is cctv footage in different areas of the MW resort then I wonder if PJ have video of the McCanns and Tapas Junta movements during the dinner and quiz show? Also the hire car and who was using it on May 3rd and finally video of the children at the creche?

Must congratulate you on that just before I go to bed. Of COURSE nobody in their right mind would agree to risk everything just to help out a friend by disposing of their child’s body etc. etc. And that’s assuming they were sufficiently immoral to even CONSIDER such a thing in the first place. We have no evidence that they were.
Ludicrous!!
(Well, maybe I’m wrong but I certainly wouldn’t do that for even my oldest and dearest friends and I’m certain they wouldn’t do it for me. )

Still up. Do you not think there’s a chance that they’re saving the photos for an exclusive deal or book? ‘Madeleine; The Last Holday’. Cynical but a possibility. Gerry is so convinced that the body won’t be found, surely? If that is the case, if the body is never going to be found, the clothing on the body does not matter.

1022. Testing it Out, LOL grab yourself a glass of wine and try to relax. It is mind boggling though isn’t it? Wait to you get to hear their broken record excuses courtesy of ALEXIS, The Big (or Real) Stig, coolandcalm and Ferdinand. Anyway, welcome to our world. The McPologists are operating in a parallel universe where blue birds are always singing and children are never exploited or abused and adults are always resposible, healthy and happy and no crimes or even misdemeanors are comitted - ever. And of course most of them believe in Gods and his army of angels.
November 5th, 2007 at 12:08 am
1031 Jaques.
Perhaps she didnt die that night and they had more time than we know.
They must have had assistance. She could have been stored just about anywhere - obviously the PJ thought in Murats (so that covers accomplice and location for storage). I’m not saying thats what happened, just that there is a scenario. It is possible to come up with many more.
Regarding media glare, sometimes doing things in full view is the best way of getting away with something - called hiding in full view (cuddle cat is an example of this, I believe) .
Or perhaps someone used the car the Mccanns hired - whilst they went off to Rome, Rome was a pseudo funeral - disposal of Maddie took place roughly the same time.
November 5th, 2007 at 12:08 am

I responded last night… (sob.. nobody listens to me!)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Been thinking…I’ve been against the Mccanns it’s true - for their neglect, but put that away… if they did it how? I just can’t see how - if the DNA evidence is correct and they transported her body in a hire car 25 days later - where did they keep the keep the body? How did they hide it so quickly in such a way they could recover it later? How did they transport and dispose of it under the glare of the media? Where did they dispose of it when their car movements have been analysed by cctv? If they did it they must be criminal masterminds
Has anyone got any plausible explanations as to how the Mccanns did it? Otherwise I think we all have to accept they didn’t do it
++++++++++++++++++++++
I have no idea of what actually happened. If the McCann’s, or any of their friends, are directly involved in Madeleine’s disappearance then whatever fate befell Madeleine almost certainly did not occur between 9.00 PM and 10.00 PM on May 3rd. That most likely just be the time window that the ‘illusionist’ wants their audience to focus on.
Perhaps we should check if any of them are members of the Magic Circle?

No point in expecting me to defend any church! Not into that! Definitely not my thing! But neither am I into ridiculing other people’s beliefs, whether they be catholic/anglican or more towards Tony Bennett’s very different but equally strong views.
I respect all genuinely-held religious views, non-religious views, atheism, agnosticism etc. etc.
Human beings do not always behave rationally, especially in grief. But then, neither does cold logic or “reason” alone explain all human experience.
Thanks for the chat.
Oh, PLEASE give me that link to that great news site you quoted from yesterday and earlier today. Something with “desk” in it? Keep forgetting to save it and it seems to give great summaries of the news.
Thanks. Good night!
