Madeleine McCann: Mafia, A Bag Of Clothes And Missing Children
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Maddie DNA clue in airport bag”
A bag of clothes containing “DNA linked to Madeleine McCann” has been found dumped by a road in Portugal.” It is a white carrier bag. It was in a layby two weeks ago near Faro airport.
“The bag contained a blue fleece jacket and a pair of adult jeans with traces of DNA that contained ‘moderate’ links to Madeleine”. And: “There was also a SHOWER CURTAIN inside.” And a white flannel, a green elastic band, a light green child’s T-shirt with a green flower on the front and a pink and blue pencil case with a pink heart motif
“Godfather in Madeleine hunt… Crime godfathers in Morocco—where there have been several alleged sightings of Maddie - have been told cops will scale back drug busts if they do”
SUNDAY MIRROR front page: “MY LITTLE MADDY” - a picture of Madeleine McCann on a pony with Kate McCann by her side
• “McCanns heartache as Cops say: “Case closes in 7 weeks
• Police to leave cloud of suspicion over Kate and Gerry”
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE MYSTERY – McCANN FRIENDS TO BE NAMED AS SUSPECTS”
“Dr Russell O’Brien and his partner Jane Tanner, Matthew Oldfield and Dr David Payne were last night forced to bring in their own lawyers after increasing fears that Portuguese police were preparing to implicate them in the case of the vanished four-year-old girl”
So will they be named as suspects or not? The Express say yes and then prevaricates
DAILY STAR ON SUNDAY front page: “MADDIE SIX MONTHS ON – 15 NEW CLUES”
That picture of Madeleine McCann on a horse. A clue?
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “ANSWER OUR PRAYERS - ON THE SIX-MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF LOSING MADDIE Kate weeps at church service for Maddie as parents suffer crushing blow”
“The devout couple first took two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie for ‘a few moments of solitude’ at their village church to remember missing Maddie”
A solitude watched by person who told the press? No need with Clarence Mitchell to fill in the gaps, Says he: “Kate and Gerry wanted a few moments of solitude praying for Madeleine with the twins”
Inside the church: “A collage of pictures of a happy Maddie - including the one…of her sitting on a black Shetland pony - took pride of place near the altar. Six snaps of the youngster next to smiling faces of other missing children were pinned onto a green notice board. Supporters were encouraged to look at the pictures before praying”
And they pray for…
The People looks at “respected” Portuguese daily Publico, which tells: “Six months on from Madeleine’s disappearance, the police theory remains the same. That the child died by accident in her room - and her parents committed the crime of hiding her body”
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine’s parents hold prayer vigil six months to the minute after she disappeared”
There are about 200 people at the “700-year-old church” near Rothley, Leicestershire
The McCanns are suspects
“Other missing children - including British toddler Ben Needham, who disappeared while on holiday in Greece in 1991, were also remembered at the service”
Did Ben Needham’s family ask for this? Want it?
Says the Rev Rob Gladstone: “Comfort and liberate all those, especially young children who have been taken from their families against their will, give courage to their grieving families”
A board says “Pray for all missing children.” How were the faces on the board selected? Many children are missing
THE INDEPENDENT: “Six months after Madeleine, another 600 are still missing”
Missing persons charities yesterday released figures “showing that more than 600 children have been missing in the UK for as long as Madeleine McCann, and are still unaccounted for”
Many are foreign. Many are teenagers. Not all are blonde
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Prayers for Madeleine McCann, six months on”
“The 3,500-strong population of Rothley - its trees decked in yellow ribbons and messages of support - came to a near standstill as Kate and Gerry arrived from their nearby home”
Locals can’t move for the press?
Rothley is an “affluent Midlands enclave”. This is McCann Land – the enclave - a small territory culturally and ethnically different form the surrounding lands
Says Gerry in his blog: “We have no idea whether she is suffering, but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”
THE GUARDIAN: “Madeleine book notes the ‘contradictions’”
More on Maddie 129, a book by Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia
“The message is that the case just doesn’t add up,” says a representative of the book’s publishers
THE SCOTSMAN: “Six months on, McCanns in new Maddie plea”
The picture of Madeleine on a Shetland pony was taken on a day out at the Hatton Country World park in Warwickshire on April 13 – “less than three weeks before she went missing”
THE TIMES: “Gerry McCann: ‘our princess prayer for Madeleine’”
Gerry McCann’s blog: “It is so painful for us simply being separated, but all the more distressing when we have to speculate about the situation Madeleine finds herself [in]. We have no idea whether she is suffering but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”

112 Patch said: “I feel sick to my stomach and really am having bad dreams because I think that there is a glimmer of a chance that they will get away with it”.
REPLY: My own feelings are not quite so graphic, but it’s that feeling of ‘they must not be allowed to get away with this’ that has also fired me up.
If the very worst comes to the worst - i.e. they are never prosecuted over their daughter’s disappearance - they are going to live an artificial and strange life from now on. If they are responsible for some evil action concerning Madeleine, their consciences will catch up with them eventually. They may emigrate. One or both may have a nervous breakdown. Their careers appear to be in jeopardy. They have to live with the knowledge that a great many people do not believe or trust them. The PJ offered (or hinted to) Kate McCann back in early September the chance to admit to Madeleine’s accidental death. The McCanns might have been better advised to accept that offer

Although Diplomatic Bags aren’t searched they are all checked by sniffer dogs in UK/US. not sure about where else.
Guess the dogs might have noticed a chopped up, decomposing body tucked inside the rollaway…….

SteveT, As a designer I try to always respect the family jewels and a ladies’ charms. I believe recent scientific studies have shown that temperature can adversely affect the health of the jewels.
November 4th, 2007 at 12:08 pm
Toni Bennett - I agree with you that it is likely that one of the parents lost their temper and caused Maddie to die, it is the most logical (and common) explaination IMO.
I can also see that they may decide to stage a cover up of ‘abduction’ in order to protect themselves/careers/lifestyle etc. IMO it is probable that when they contacted their family etc things got out of hand and they found themselves on a rollercoaster ride that they could not stop.
But if this is the case - why has the press coverage been so blinkered? and why are they getting such high level support?

I am a great believer in helping the planet by recycling rubbish. I feel supporters of the McCanns being positive and thinking individuals will agree it is a good policy.
I should offer thanks here to Aged and Pony Bonnet for their help and all those Anti McCanners who inspired me and made this blog possible
Recycled list of ANTI-McCann Spin Tactics Codes:
MT HEAD1: Pretend to be parent of the year and yet spend their entire lives on Anorak
MTHEAD2: Be abusive to individuals (e.g. call them a tosser, insane, clown or use very foul language indeed, towards them)
MTHEAD3: Claim it’s about a missing child…who was “neglected”Anti McCanners would never do this…on their holidays. But ALL McCann supporters are bad parents.
MTHEAD4: Raise the neglect debate YET AGAIN hmmm Wonder who this is?????
MTHEAD5: Ask for links to points and then claim stuff in the paper is not reliable.
MTHEAD6: Claim forensic evidence is back and decisive and the McCanns are going to be arrested because the papers say so. (See above)
MTHEAD7 Create daft and lurid scenarios to titillate themselves… (Disgusting and sick this is.)
MTHEAD8: Diagnose one of a number of rare syndromes for Madeleine, use internet evidence and photographs as proof and suggest that illness as motive for murder….(truly sickening)
MTHEAD9: “Say I’m going to ignore you now….for 5 seconds and you’re going to be truly devastated I’m warning you…” (very funny this one )
MTHEAD10: I am so clever, I can cobble together pictures of Kate’s breasts or add and subtract people from photographs oh and that makes me a photographic expert
MTHEAD11: Insists Madeleine is dead, should no longer be looked for. (DANGEROUS)
MTHEAD12: Threatens legal action/law suit even though they are using a moniker and therefore don’t really exist.
MTHEAD13: Not answering questions but instead disappearing when caught out
MTHEAD14: Rubbishing the fact that under British law you have the right to be treated as innocent until proven guilty in a court of law”
MTHEAD15: Saying that “by posting here, and rubbishing her parents and family, they’re helping “Maddie”After all even though they’ve never met her they love her more than her parents and that’s the logic of it.
MTHEAD16: Claim McCann supporters are highly educated and intelligent but illogical because they don’t agree with “anti McCanners who pretend to be highly educated and intelligent and think they are logical.
MTHEAD17: Abuse other posters and then run to mods and admin when aggrieved McCann supporters fight back.
MT HEAD18: Accuse ALL McCann supporters of being one person, paid by” Mitchell” and call that person “insane.”
MTHEAD19: So addicted to Anorak has spent 5 months on the same chair and doesn’t appear to have own life, so invents one and a Sims family and gets angry when not believed.
MTHEAD20.Prone to aggression and threats of violence like throwing knives or candlesticks, even though this is a computer forum
User Guide: Simply type MTHEAD3 or appropriate MTHEAD code as a response to an inane comment, thus saving valuable time and bandwidth. Multiple codes are acceptable if separated by forward slash (/).

You are right.
Diplomatic bags are never searched.
They’re often used for smuggling guns or other arms into a country e.g. the Libyan Embassy in the 1970s/80s

Oh and I had some suggestions for SteveT’s groom attire because although I think leotard’s always reveal the man underneath and that’s important in a marital relations, I thought a few accents needed: tunic, sash, sword and cape. I posted a link to a photo to give you both an idea.

“…it occurred to both of us that there is NO way that the McC’s regularly left their children alone while dining with friends. I cannot see that they would go to such a resort and use the childcare facilities so regularly but not in the evening”.
REPLY: They might have done up to and including the evening of Wednesday 2 May. Where, for example, were the children on the evening they reportedly dined away from the Ocean Club? - was that the Tuesday?
“I also can not go for the child sedation theory when you can just leave them in the creche until 11.30pm (free of charge)”.
REPLY: I have an open mind on that. Doctors who are prepared to go out drinking and having fun in the evening when they have very young children, and who have the skills and means to anaesthetise, might have the motive and the means to sedate. If all or most of the ‘Tapas 9′ kids were being sedated, it would ceretainly provide a relatively simple explanation for the contradictions in the ‘Tapas 9′ evidence, their actions (e.g. Jane Tanner’s ’sightings’), and their ‘Pact of Silence’.
“So I think maybe they left them on this particular day to enable them to stage the abduction, which does mean that Maddie had probably died earlier that day”.
REPLY: I agree that all the events of the evening of 3 May were part of an elaborate enactment of a bogus abduction -whilst at the same time moving or disposing of Madeleine’s body.
“There are many conflicting stories about that afternoon, Maddie was in nursery, Maddie and Gerry danced on a beach, Maddie and family dined with Tapas 9 families, Kate was never alone with Maddie, Maddie by swimming pool, at beach”.
REPLY: Enough doubt and contradictions, certainly, to suggest that Maddie might have died some time earlier that day. And you haven’t even mentioned the controversy over that 1.29pm/2.29pm photograph.
“I do think that they understood the backlash they would get about leaving the children when they came up with this scenario, but they also know that scenarios that are TOO perfect would be very suspicious”.
REPLY: Agreed. They chose to take the route of taking some blame i.e. a bit of flak for leaving Madeleine and the twins alone, so that they could develop the abduction scenario and escape from charges of being responsible for an accidental death - or worse. Though I don’t think that poor girl found in a plastic box in the U.S. is Madeleine, the description of blows to that girl’s head reminded me that my preferred explanation for Madeleine’s death is a sudden and violent loss of temper by either parent. as in the case of JonBenet Ramsey.
“Is there any confirmed (by Team McC or PJ) information about the famiy’s movements that afternoon?”
REPLY: Well, there is of course that ’social tennis event’, for starters…

With regard to John Buck, the Ambassador. Would his luggage have had diplomatic immunity? If so, anything he put his stamp on, would not be searched?

Bit old, people, but this is from an interview with Jeff Edwards, chief crime
correspondent with the Mirror:
”Edwards describes the coverage of Madeleine McCann as a “festival of misreporting” on account of the conclusions many journalists have drawn about the case.
“It is a prime example. Nothing is known; it is a one-fact story – a little girl is missing. Right across the media there has been a festival of misreporting based largely on naïve guesswork, vacuum filling and dangerous assumption. We don’t generally emerge with much credit.
“I get pissed off with columnists who say the parents can’t have had anything to do with it. All the murder squad people I know say ‘don’t talk to me about certain things being impossible’. There’s been a certain amount of unconscious racism here about the Portuguese police. Actually, it’s not a third world country.
“They may not have our level of competence but they are not stupid and they are limited by their own constitution. Whatever is said about that inquiry, everything they’ve done has been driven by something such as significant inconsistencies between the McCanns and their friends.”

151 Clare I believe that the press may have been gagged . Apparently this only occurs if a member of the royals have been involved or if there is some connection with politicians or intelligence. It is probably the latter. Does anyone know whether Michael Shrimpton Gerard Group International has any connection with the McCann case??? Perhaps there has been an embarrasing situation linking the former chanccellor ,it is speculated that GB had contact with the McCanns early on. Just speculation of course. What do you think about the fact the case may not be archived for 15 years.
