Madeleine McCann: Mafia, A Bag Of Clothes And Missing Children
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Maddie DNA clue in airport bag”
A bag of clothes containing “DNA linked to Madeleine McCann” has been found dumped by a road in Portugal.” It is a white carrier bag. It was in a layby two weeks ago near Faro airport.
“The bag contained a blue fleece jacket and a pair of adult jeans with traces of DNA that contained ‘moderate’ links to Madeleine”. And: “There was also a SHOWER CURTAIN inside.” And a white flannel, a green elastic band, a light green child’s T-shirt with a green flower on the front and a pink and blue pencil case with a pink heart motif
“Godfather in Madeleine hunt… Crime godfathers in Morocco—where there have been several alleged sightings of Maddie - have been told cops will scale back drug busts if they do”
SUNDAY MIRROR front page: “MY LITTLE MADDY” - a picture of Madeleine McCann on a pony with Kate McCann by her side
• “McCanns heartache as Cops say: “Case closes in 7 weeks
• Police to leave cloud of suspicion over Kate and Gerry”
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE MYSTERY – McCANN FRIENDS TO BE NAMED AS SUSPECTS”
“Dr Russell O’Brien and his partner Jane Tanner, Matthew Oldfield and Dr David Payne were last night forced to bring in their own lawyers after increasing fears that Portuguese police were preparing to implicate them in the case of the vanished four-year-old girl”
So will they be named as suspects or not? The Express say yes and then prevaricates
DAILY STAR ON SUNDAY front page: “MADDIE SIX MONTHS ON – 15 NEW CLUES”
That picture of Madeleine McCann on a horse. A clue?
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “ANSWER OUR PRAYERS - ON THE SIX-MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF LOSING MADDIE Kate weeps at church service for Maddie as parents suffer crushing blow”
“The devout couple first took two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie for ‘a few moments of solitude’ at their village church to remember missing Maddie”
A solitude watched by person who told the press? No need with Clarence Mitchell to fill in the gaps, Says he: “Kate and Gerry wanted a few moments of solitude praying for Madeleine with the twins”
Inside the church: “A collage of pictures of a happy Maddie - including the one…of her sitting on a black Shetland pony - took pride of place near the altar. Six snaps of the youngster next to smiling faces of other missing children were pinned onto a green notice board. Supporters were encouraged to look at the pictures before praying”
And they pray for…
The People looks at “respected” Portuguese daily Publico, which tells: “Six months on from Madeleine’s disappearance, the police theory remains the same. That the child died by accident in her room - and her parents committed the crime of hiding her body”
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine’s parents hold prayer vigil six months to the minute after she disappeared”
There are about 200 people at the “700-year-old church” near Rothley, Leicestershire
The McCanns are suspects
“Other missing children - including British toddler Ben Needham, who disappeared while on holiday in Greece in 1991, were also remembered at the service”
Did Ben Needham’s family ask for this? Want it?
Says the Rev Rob Gladstone: “Comfort and liberate all those, especially young children who have been taken from their families against their will, give courage to their grieving families”
A board says “Pray for all missing children.” How were the faces on the board selected? Many children are missing
THE INDEPENDENT: “Six months after Madeleine, another 600 are still missing”
Missing persons charities yesterday released figures “showing that more than 600 children have been missing in the UK for as long as Madeleine McCann, and are still unaccounted for”
Many are foreign. Many are teenagers. Not all are blonde
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Prayers for Madeleine McCann, six months on”
“The 3,500-strong population of Rothley - its trees decked in yellow ribbons and messages of support - came to a near standstill as Kate and Gerry arrived from their nearby home”
Locals can’t move for the press?
Rothley is an “affluent Midlands enclave”. This is McCann Land – the enclave - a small territory culturally and ethnically different form the surrounding lands
Says Gerry in his blog: “We have no idea whether she is suffering, but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”
THE GUARDIAN: “Madeleine book notes the ‘contradictions’”
More on Maddie 129, a book by Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia
“The message is that the case just doesn’t add up,” says a representative of the book’s publishers
THE SCOTSMAN: “Six months on, McCanns in new Maddie plea”
The picture of Madeleine on a Shetland pony was taken on a day out at the Hatton Country World park in Warwickshire on April 13 – “less than three weeks before she went missing”
THE TIMES: “Gerry McCann: ‘our princess prayer for Madeleine’”
Gerry McCann’s blog: “It is so painful for us simply being separated, but all the more distressing when we have to speculate about the situation Madeleine finds herself [in]. We have no idea whether she is suffering but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”

Might be! Yes, I remember Moderation who I think misnamed herself for this subject–she definitely was not middle of the road or moderate in her opinions. Moderation was the author who was having a tiny row with Tony Bennett, was she not?

Yes Jolie, you’re quite right that Moderation was the one having a little tiff with Tony Bennett. She was also the author, but she left some time ago, as she’d finished writing her book (it was something she said quite often - that she’d leave as soon as her book was finished or published - can’t quite remember which one though)

One of the tactics McCann supporters use on this forum is to express their boredom with a post when they don’t agree with/like it.

My afternoon nap has produced a novel thought: if G&M are guilty of no more than child neglect, then prosecuting them, after the dreadful punishment they have received, would simply be vindictive and serve no good purpose. However, this argument does not apply to the Tapas 7…

Tilly, can you give me a direct link here please? I’ve had some form of virus on my computer and I cannot type in my google address box to link to anything (it just bombs out).
(And apologies if I’m taking a bit long to reply to anything, we have a huge thunderstorm here at the moment, and it’s taking ages to refresh!)

Re suspects4…transfattyacid has commented about the
Sunday Express article.
***Perhaps the most interesting article is in the Sunday Express.
The reason I find this so interesting: and allowing for the fact
that the Express changes it opinion on a day-to-day basis: is t
hat the McCann’s are believed to have made a complaint to
the press complaints commission about a photograph of Gerry
playing golf. This appeared in the Daily Express on the day
that it was revealed that the fund had been paying the
McCanns’s mortgage.
For the past week the Express has been running heavily
on the Morocco story and have been entirely sympathetic
to the McCanns. Then suddenly there is this dispute over
the picture and the Express lead on the story that members
of the Tapas 7 are to be charged.
As you say….marvellous stuff !!

It’s seems to me there was another poster (strong McCann supporter) who repeatedly insisted they had second-hand knowledge from knowing people in Prai de Luz that the priest had never disappeared. I can’t yet remember the name of the poster, but I remember debating that issue with this poster and providing links to news articles to him/her. I don’t think this person was coolandcalm, although both may have been playing that tune.
Can anyone remember the forum name of the pro-McCann poster who said they had direct connections to people in Prai de Luz?

back from some music practice and lovely fresh air…
can’t be too arsed to read the backlog but had a think or two.
we’ve spent a lot of time focussing on the wretches but we now seem to have the prospect of turning our attention to the suspect4 gang
assuming they adopt the ludicrous Comical Clarrie PR approach we should be able to find out a bit more about how weird these lot are as well. could be quite amusing…
is there any news from the suspect4 yet or are they desperately trying to cobble some storylines together with their (expensive?) briefs?
what amuses me about this next stage is that the suspect 4 are spread out a bit more that el fragrentes and they will probably assume their mobiles and e-mail are being watched carefully, so will the disastrous Comic’s PR approach work fro them?
entertainment awaits I hope…
November 4th, 2007 at 4:47 pm
To all of those trying to help me find the photograph I’m referring to, a huge thank you!
I just cannot believe that I was so absolutely dim at the time not to place greater significance on it, but then, I had no idea that it was probably not meant to be there in the first place!
This photograph is going to give me sleepless nights if I cannot find it, but I can promise you that when I do (because I plan on hunting into very deep and dark realms as soon as I’ve finished cleaning my kitchen and had a shower), I will lay my head on a block that the “last” photograph of Madeleine is a fake, and the video taken showing her falling on the steps of the airplane was taken at an earlier stage!

coolandcalm,
according to their own sposwesman they have no restrictions on travel as long as PJ are informed. You must believe Mitchell.
Sorry, but I plainly do not believe that you are impartial. You defend Mccanns systematically, cleverly ping-ponging any reasonable evidence. And your posts’ language is too intelligent for a person who can dismiss so many clues sincerely. Regarding your instincts, what do you say about a mother who goes jogging the next day, father goes to tennis lesson next day, parents refuse urine test on their twins, parents never cry, faces not swollen, not red, eyes not puffy, parents have 4 lawyers before being charged, parents use Fund for mortgage, parents ignore BG news, ……
Come on, coolandcalm, stop assisting them, you must be a nice person and definitely bright, and you are innocent, why do not you listen to your real instincts?
November 4th, 2007 at 4:45 pm
Murat may not have the funds to travel now, either. No one started up a fund to support him; no wealthy backers came forward to pay for his legal defense or his living expenses.

Pilgrim (re the Rothley service)
Nonsense!
The anglican church was chosen because it was an ecumenical service and that church, as well as Sacred Heart, has given unfailing support to the McCanns. All the clergy were there. Read any of the reports of the service. All this was said weeks ago anyway. I wish I was sufficiently interested to keep all the relevant links to articles but I’m not and I don’t. Must start!
Absolute rubbish, Pilgrim. The message of a troll, I’d say!!

“coolandcalm” has form re priests. Remember when Father Jose Manuel Pacheco disappeared from PdL? The (correct) speculation was that he was spilling the beans to his bishop and getting a bollocking for allowing himself to get taken in by the McCanns. But up popped “coolandcalm” to reassure us that the priest hadn’t disappeared and was, in fact, happily preaching to his flock as she spoke.
Then a couple of days later, he really did reappear saying he’d been away looking after his sick mother/aunt.
Not the first time Team McCann has been caught out on Anorak and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

If the McCanns firmly believe that Madeleine was abducted that night, why would they automatically assume that Madeleine has been dead for six months. They are the ones who are still looking for a living Madeleine, following up on sightings. If an abductor took Madeleine and kept her or passed her on and then if she were killed only recently, why couldn’t the BG corpse be Madeleine’s?
As for the Sterilite container–I’m sure there are plenty of items in Portugal that might not have originally come from Portugal or the UK, but ended up there anyway by whatever means.

Edit…..
I don’t think Hideki’s posts were too graphic, imo, btw. If she went into detailed descriptions of graphic sexual acts–that would be wrong, but just mentioning the potential evidence of such acts is not out of line.
We’re talking about corpses, cadaverine, possible homicide and manslaughter on this forum. Is any of that suitable for young children? I think not. Adults should be able to handle the speculation, if they are
+++++++
In Hideki’s post we were discussing ‘details’ which so far as I’m aware havn’t appeared in any mainstream press? Matters such as corpses, cadaverine, possible homicide and manslaughter are all matters which have appeared in mainstream press. One is just pure speculation without a shred of evidence to support it, the latter does at least appear to be supported by press speculation.
I appreciate people’s views on what might be distasteful differs.

i know for sure that murat and his mother took an oath of silence, wether or not they are banned from travelling I am not sure.
i think it highly possible that he just does not want to travel to the uk since the media painted him as a one eyed child killing monster. they only just stopped short of saying that reporters had seen a 666 imprinted on the back of his head.
if i were him i would avoid the uk for my own safety until i was cleared

There are enough similarities in BG and MM to investigate, but wasn’t their a question over whether Sterlite containers could be purchased in Portugal?
Also, as the Texas investigator says, the rate of decomposition as a mystery. M presumed dead 6 months. BG, they haven’t said have they?
