Inside the church: “A collage of pictures of a happy Maddie - including the one…of her sitting on a black Shetland pony - took pride of place near the altar. This is very interesting. A list of 25 names from the Mccann lawyers.
This is the nearest i have seen to an act that indicates innocence on the part of the Mccanns.
If they have asked the lawyers to request the PJ interview these people, then it indicates an unseen before honesty on their part which does a great deal for their credibility. If they had done this before then many would not now be suspicious of them.
Of course. it might be the lawyers going further than the Mccanns want and it could be their undoing (they couldnt refuse if the lawyers made logical suggestions as to who ought to be interviewed).
I think this is a quite dramatic turn of events.

I would think folks are showing support for this poor little girl (Baby Grace) by gathering funds for the funeral/burial site, but know the authorities will not bury the body until they’ve given people a chance to claim the body and until all forensic evidence is collected. I have no idea how much time will elapse between now and then, however.

I agree with that but then, he hasn’t lost his child. They’ve made bad mistakes but, if they are innocent, they have had, and still have, one overriding aim, to find Madeleine. They say that is much more important to them than anything else.
I don’t know the truth of what happened but Murat, who was treated appallingly early on, has no other agenda beyond having his arguido status removed as well as living down the awful things the media (and Anorak posters) said about him at the time. The McCanns almost don’t seem to care what is said or thought about them as long as the search for their daughter continues. They might have been sitting pretty if they’d kept quiet and slunk home from Portugal months ago. I suspect those forensics, dogs etc. might not even have been used. Everything might have died down. Ironically, it was their very insistence on the investigation constantly being pushed up a notch that led to them being named as suspects.
Maybe, for their own skins, they should have been content with the early, bungled police investigation. (Not just content, but grateful, if guilty!!) But they would not then have felt they had done everything possible to have their child found.
Of course I don’t know if I’m right but it is, at least, an alternative way of looking at things,.

since i was a little lad reading the Beano and Dandy i never understood why sleeping was shown as a speech bubble with ZZZZZZZZ. I always thought it was a fly buzzing around - mind you back in the 50s we always had lots of rotting meat and corpses hanging about to attract the flies…
I suppose it’s just one of those cartoon artist traditions…

Dr Watson… I never commented on the mortgage payments at all. I’m not numerate at all and I don’t have a mortgage so I don’t know how it works nowadays.
Anyway… Baby Grace. I read that there is a fund set up to pay for her funeral. Would they bury her this soon? are laws etc different in the US? I was shocked that they’re not keeping her pending enquiries and identification? Anyone here from US?

stevet, i have said that from the beginning. he looks pretty spineless to me, but at the same time looks very confident.
spineless people if confronted with the slightest hint that they would be banged up in a portugese jail would keep themselves behind closed doors.
i suspected not so long ago that murat was involved with the pj all along. they would have known of his integrity since he had done work with them in translating before.
he also translated fo rthe police in england for portugese workers working for bernard mathews

Dr Watson, the pic that I’m trying to find shows Madeleine’s hair to almost below her shoulder blades (some of her hair was falling over her shoulder, and that’s how I judged this).
I’m honestly starting to believe that this photograph was provided by someone who should never have released the photograph to the media, and threats were made for them to remove it! I know for a fact that I did not dream seeing it, as I was at work that day, and was catching a sneak peak at the news on Madeleine!
She MOST definitely had a DARK coloured t-shirt on, and the pic was taken in the garden.

Murat is seperated from his wife who looks after his daughter in the UK. There were reports that the press had tracked them down and were hounding them. (But they dont bother the rest of the Tapas gang!). There were also press stories from people who had worked with him back in the UK. This is why I believe he has not visited the UK.
If the McCanns had followed Murats example of keeping quiet and working with the PJ they would not be in a much better situation than they are now. In other words, Murat is acting more like someone who has nothing to hide.

With regard to poor little Baby Grace Rip…absolutely heartbreaking isn’t it?
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office has received some tips, but none have proved viable.
Among these have been several calls from people, suggesting she might be Madeleine. Whilst these calls have been taken seriously, the police are working to eliminate this possibility. They do not believe the child is Madeleine. Possibly because Madeleine may still be alive and needing our help more than condemnation , innuendo and abuse aimed at her sorrowing parents
