Maria, I think a Spanish TV channel offered them a lie detector test but they refused. This was shortly after they said they would do the test to clear themselves, although it would not be admissible in a Portuguese court. Some might say that they were bluffing.

Don’t see why producing a list of suitable people for the PJ to interview, which is drawn up by the main suspects is in any way an indication of innocence. Just as producing your own paid-for forensic evidence is luditosh. He who pays the piper etc.

Looks like Maddy’s details are coming up on ancestry.co.uk now so please disregard my earlier posts saying it wasn’t possible.
Maybe the only reason why we haven’t been shown any baby photos of Maddy is that they would be of no worth in identifying her now.
Anyway it seems that the PJ a long time ago checked out any possibility that Maddy’s disappearance was anything to do with sperm donors, surrogate mums and the like. These possibilities I think have been dismissed, so we’re back to the same old question - what happened between 2 pm and 10 pm on 3rd May???

They’ve offered to take a lie detector test but the police don’t seem interested. If they arranged it themselves, they’d be accused of rigging the results.
Yes, I admit I was making an assumption that parents who had lost their little girl through very careless child minding arrangements might just be regretting it now.
Maybe you’re right and they have never had a moment’s regret. After all, they haven’t done anything to try and have her found, have they? They obviously don’t care about her. They don’t seem to love the twins either, do they? Yeah…I guess you’re right.

I’ve looked for the picture you want for hours; no luck, but I noticed that there is another photo which isn’t showing any more, it’s one in which hair is crimped and Madeleine is reclining and looking up at the camera. I wasn’t looking for that particular photo just happened to notice it’s also gone.

Oh, come off your high horse. How “dare” I suggest that someone on this forum might actually change user names on this forum? It happens frequently here. Why would you suspect that you should be above suspicion on this account? You write very well–why couldn’t you be an author who changes identity on the forum?
I have no way of knowing who the posters here are in real life or if they’ve been posting here before in previous incarnations, unless they personally acknowledge it.
My question was a GUESS, Maria. Geez! I think you’re wrapped a little too tightly or have something uncomfortable stuck somewhere within your personage.
I’ve always posted as Jolie on this forum, even though in the early weeks, I did not post very much–I was still reading quite a bit. Even now, I still don’t post as much as you or as Moderation did. I have no reason to hide behind a second identity here–no interest in doing so. People can take me or leave me, as I am. I don’t have time to play games–I am already wasting enough time here on Anorak just following a straight and direct line.

I admire you for sticking to your guns, and I don’t mean to berate you, but how could you say the other day that “You are SURE the McCanns regret” leaving the children alone. There’s nothing solid to base that on–that’s going on faith.
Gerry said–and I heard him say–nothing could take away the guilt of not being there IN THAT MOMENT. He STRESSED in that moment, a clear statement that he holds no guilt for leaving 3 kids in harms way.
I feel you are giving him credit which he doesn’t deserve.
They only thing they really seem to regret is being at risk of ending up in a Portuguese prison cell.
Why don’t they just take lie detector tests and be done with it? The reason they don’t is because they can’t be sure they will pass. They don’t have faith in themselves when under analysis.

You are definitely wrong. Moderation is a well-known writer. (Well, I hadn’t heard of her, but others had!) She was posting regularly when I first began to read and then post on anorak. I am NOT Moderation, as Mods and Admin could confirm.
By the way, I strongly object to your assumption that I would “morph”, as you put it, into anyone. Why should I? What benefit? I’m perfectly happy to be myself and always will be.
Moderation has just had the common sense to stop wasting her time posting here and has done what I ought to do. (Yes, I know you’d be glad if I did.)
I read on her website that she may well use her experience on this website in her next novel.
