Madeleine McCann: Mafia, A Bag Of Clothes And Missing Children
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Maddie DNA clue in airport bag”
A bag of clothes containing “DNA linked to Madeleine McCann” has been found dumped by a road in Portugal.” It is a white carrier bag. It was in a layby two weeks ago near Faro airport.
“The bag contained a blue fleece jacket and a pair of adult jeans with traces of DNA that contained ‘moderate’ links to Madeleine”. And: “There was also a SHOWER CURTAIN inside.” And a white flannel, a green elastic band, a light green child’s T-shirt with a green flower on the front and a pink and blue pencil case with a pink heart motif
“Godfather in Madeleine hunt… Crime godfathers in Morocco—where there have been several alleged sightings of Maddie - have been told cops will scale back drug busts if they do”
SUNDAY MIRROR front page: “MY LITTLE MADDY” - a picture of Madeleine McCann on a pony with Kate McCann by her side
• “McCanns heartache as Cops say: “Case closes in 7 weeks
• Police to leave cloud of suspicion over Kate and Gerry”
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE MYSTERY – McCANN FRIENDS TO BE NAMED AS SUSPECTS”
“Dr Russell O’Brien and his partner Jane Tanner, Matthew Oldfield and Dr David Payne were last night forced to bring in their own lawyers after increasing fears that Portuguese police were preparing to implicate them in the case of the vanished four-year-old girl”
So will they be named as suspects or not? The Express say yes and then prevaricates
DAILY STAR ON SUNDAY front page: “MADDIE SIX MONTHS ON – 15 NEW CLUES”
That picture of Madeleine McCann on a horse. A clue?
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “ANSWER OUR PRAYERS - ON THE SIX-MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF LOSING MADDIE Kate weeps at church service for Maddie as parents suffer crushing blow”
“The devout couple first took two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie for ‘a few moments of solitude’ at their village church to remember missing Maddie”
A solitude watched by person who told the press? No need with Clarence Mitchell to fill in the gaps, Says he: “Kate and Gerry wanted a few moments of solitude praying for Madeleine with the twins”
Inside the church: “A collage of pictures of a happy Maddie - including the one…of her sitting on a black Shetland pony - took pride of place near the altar. Six snaps of the youngster next to smiling faces of other missing children were pinned onto a green notice board. Supporters were encouraged to look at the pictures before praying”
And they pray for…
The People looks at “respected” Portuguese daily Publico, which tells: “Six months on from Madeleine’s disappearance, the police theory remains the same. That the child died by accident in her room - and her parents committed the crime of hiding her body”
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine’s parents hold prayer vigil six months to the minute after she disappeared”
There are about 200 people at the “700-year-old church” near Rothley, Leicestershire
The McCanns are suspects
“Other missing children - including British toddler Ben Needham, who disappeared while on holiday in Greece in 1991, were also remembered at the service”
Did Ben Needham’s family ask for this? Want it?
Says the Rev Rob Gladstone: “Comfort and liberate all those, especially young children who have been taken from their families against their will, give courage to their grieving families”
A board says “Pray for all missing children.” How were the faces on the board selected? Many children are missing
THE INDEPENDENT: “Six months after Madeleine, another 600 are still missing”
Missing persons charities yesterday released figures “showing that more than 600 children have been missing in the UK for as long as Madeleine McCann, and are still unaccounted for”
Many are foreign. Many are teenagers. Not all are blonde
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Prayers for Madeleine McCann, six months on”
“The 3,500-strong population of Rothley - its trees decked in yellow ribbons and messages of support - came to a near standstill as Kate and Gerry arrived from their nearby home”
Locals can’t move for the press?
Rothley is an “affluent Midlands enclave”. This is McCann Land – the enclave - a small territory culturally and ethnically different form the surrounding lands
Says Gerry in his blog: “We have no idea whether she is suffering, but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”
THE GUARDIAN: “Madeleine book notes the ‘contradictions’”
More on Maddie 129, a book by Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia
“The message is that the case just doesn’t add up,” says a representative of the book’s publishers
THE SCOTSMAN: “Six months on, McCanns in new Maddie plea”
The picture of Madeleine on a Shetland pony was taken on a day out at the Hatton Country World park in Warwickshire on April 13 – “less than three weeks before she went missing”
THE TIMES: “Gerry McCann: ‘our princess prayer for Madeleine’”
Gerry McCann’s blog: “It is so painful for us simply being separated, but all the more distressing when we have to speculate about the situation Madeleine finds herself [in]. We have no idea whether she is suffering but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”

Well that’s what leads me to believe she’s a perfect match. I can’t understand why it hasn’t been in the press more widely and directly. Hair grows after death doesn’t it so that would account for her longer hair. Maybe this is why Gerry McC stated so emphatically ‘find the body’ because maybe he thought that it would never appear again.

I never said he said it WAS. I merely pointed out that the ‘notorious’ photo gained that title due to your misguided passtime. Nothing more

I thought it was Q & Tal (sp?) magazine that the McCanns were going to sue but the magazine pre-empted it by closing down?

Which begs the question, why not wait for conclusive evidence before you continue with the total character assassination on the kid’s parents? When we know they are guilty, say what you like. Proof of their involvement means they deserve everything and anything that is thrown at them (aside from public hanging…..that was facetiousness….).I just don’t know how people can post some of the sickeningly obscene suggestions of what they think happened the night of the 3rd May and still think, in their own minds, they are in any way superior to the McCanns. Nope, you’re not.
Until i personally know for sure the McCanns have anything to do with Madeleine’s death, they are innocent. I have more definite opinions about some of the posters in here, though. Some really sink lower than a snake’s belly in a wagon rut.
So true Louise .Well said.! Bravo!

Tony didn’t say it WAS. He said it was possible. As per usual you don’t read properly - a trait shared by many a McCann supporter.

I could well be wrong but I thought 24 Horas said openly that the police believed the McCanns to be guilty. At the time, the official police position, as reiterated by Oligario Sousa (who later resigned from his position as official spokesperson for the police) was that they were NOT suspects. Of course 24 Horas, when questioned, said that their sources were impeccable but I THINK in the article itself they may have stated quite simply that it was a fact that the police believed that.
(In the event, it transpired that what 24 Horas was saying was true. The police DID think they were guilty. There’ll be no point in the McCanns suing, for that very reason.)
I never actually read the 24Horas article though, so I can’t be sure. I’d be interested if you did, though? I’m only giving what my impression at the time was.

Maria,
Arguido status has nothing to do with the capability to take legal actions. They are suing newspaoers for saying Gerry is not Maddie’s father based on “sources”. Put yourself in their shoes, you are completly innocent, you can only be horrified with those claims, why not sue those papers who publish such horrendous thing, regardless quotation marks?

Proof please?
Notorious? What because stevo concocted up a bullshit story, which, in the end only proved that stevo likes playing around with photoshop.

To all who’ve joined in the “animal” discussion:
Yes, yes….rabbiting on, dog-tired, like a dog-with-a-bone, hawkish, eagle-eyed, doe-eyed, dogging (to quote Prince Harry)’ birdlike’ fishy ….yes, yes..loads of them. But, nonetheless, when people are compared to ANIMALS,(as a genus),in the common phraseology used, as they frequently are..in the press, on TV..in the street, in the pub, everywhere…it is ALWAYS negative. This is the point I am trying to make.

609 Garth. You are far too selective on your judgement of what is evidence and what isnt. You only pursue a singl view - which leads most of us to conclude that you are not serious about debating.
We end up wasting our time writing to you and you bring out the worst in people
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
……….been away………ahem..(just clearing the throat)
WHAT? are you now having a laugh? Me selective? Feck, you’ve got some neck!

The height and age are correct if you realise that Madeleine was below the 5th percentile in height. The PJ website lists her height as 90cm. That’s just over 35 inches - the same range given for “baby Grace”.
It seems like wishful thinking though. The most obvious piece of evidence is the bin itself. It would be really easy to tell if it was a Portuguese dustbin and not an American one.

If you’re still there. I honestly think Moderation partly used the site for material for her next novel (she said so) although she clearly expressed her views when posting. I accessed her site once after she’d left, just out of interest, and I thought she simply wanted to finish with Anorak for the same reasons as you’ve stated, and which also apply to me! It was taking up too much time.
Of course I could be wrong. Interesting!

When referring to human behaviour as being despicable and wicked, sadly we revert to using an animal as the analogy. It stems from predators like lions ripping apart a wildebeest or even my pet cat killing a mouse for fun (actually, my tom-cat caught a snake in the garden on Friday so he’s enjoying premium cat food this weekend!).
It’s only an analogy that’s been used for centuries Judith…

I do think baby Grace is Madeleine. Same eyes (shape), same nose, same eyebrows and exactly same teeth. I haven’t got a clue how she got over there though. Any ideas?

The McCanns had a digital camera.
They have only ever produced one photo of Madeleine on holiday in Praia da Luz.
That was the notorious ‘last photo’ where it is possible that either the photo itself, or the time, was doctored.
It took the McCanns three full weeks to release that one image to the world’s press.
Something not quite right?

Dr. Watson Says:
Alexis,I come back to you, there you are (I did not notice you addressing me before): if your real name is Alexis, all right. But do you only use one name here? Are you connected to Mccamms’ PR or to them? I am not. And coolandcalm talked about “instincts”, so I just asked him regarding his instincts about Mccann’s behaviour.
I am Alexis and I post as Alexis only Alexis, How about you are you a doctor? Why do you hide behind this name and accuse others of hiding?
No I am not connected to the McCanns. I have never met either of them or any member of their families and I do not know Clarence Mitchell nor is he paying me . What I do, I do because I believe in my heart that that little girl is out there and needs our help. Even if I doubted that for a moment, I would not do differently as long as the slightest chance remained that she would be found alive.
