Madeleine McCann: Mafia, A Bag Of Clothes And Missing Children
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Maddie DNA clue in airport bag”
A bag of clothes containing “DNA linked to Madeleine McCann” has been found dumped by a road in Portugal.” It is a white carrier bag. It was in a layby two weeks ago near Faro airport.
“The bag contained a blue fleece jacket and a pair of adult jeans with traces of DNA that contained ‘moderate’ links to Madeleine”. And: “There was also a SHOWER CURTAIN inside.” And a white flannel, a green elastic band, a light green child’s T-shirt with a green flower on the front and a pink and blue pencil case with a pink heart motif
“Godfather in Madeleine hunt… Crime godfathers in Morocco—where there have been several alleged sightings of Maddie - have been told cops will scale back drug busts if they do”
SUNDAY MIRROR front page: “MY LITTLE MADDY” - a picture of Madeleine McCann on a pony with Kate McCann by her side
• “McCanns heartache as Cops say: “Case closes in 7 weeks
• Police to leave cloud of suspicion over Kate and Gerry”
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE MYSTERY – McCANN FRIENDS TO BE NAMED AS SUSPECTS”
“Dr Russell O’Brien and his partner Jane Tanner, Matthew Oldfield and Dr David Payne were last night forced to bring in their own lawyers after increasing fears that Portuguese police were preparing to implicate them in the case of the vanished four-year-old girl”
So will they be named as suspects or not? The Express say yes and then prevaricates
DAILY STAR ON SUNDAY front page: “MADDIE SIX MONTHS ON – 15 NEW CLUES”
That picture of Madeleine McCann on a horse. A clue?
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “ANSWER OUR PRAYERS - ON THE SIX-MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF LOSING MADDIE Kate weeps at church service for Maddie as parents suffer crushing blow”
“The devout couple first took two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie for ‘a few moments of solitude’ at their village church to remember missing Maddie”
A solitude watched by person who told the press? No need with Clarence Mitchell to fill in the gaps, Says he: “Kate and Gerry wanted a few moments of solitude praying for Madeleine with the twins”
Inside the church: “A collage of pictures of a happy Maddie - including the one…of her sitting on a black Shetland pony - took pride of place near the altar. Six snaps of the youngster next to smiling faces of other missing children were pinned onto a green notice board. Supporters were encouraged to look at the pictures before praying”
And they pray for…
The People looks at “respected” Portuguese daily Publico, which tells: “Six months on from Madeleine’s disappearance, the police theory remains the same. That the child died by accident in her room - and her parents committed the crime of hiding her body”
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine’s parents hold prayer vigil six months to the minute after she disappeared”
There are about 200 people at the “700-year-old church” near Rothley, Leicestershire
The McCanns are suspects
“Other missing children - including British toddler Ben Needham, who disappeared while on holiday in Greece in 1991, were also remembered at the service”
Did Ben Needham’s family ask for this? Want it?
Says the Rev Rob Gladstone: “Comfort and liberate all those, especially young children who have been taken from their families against their will, give courage to their grieving families”
A board says “Pray for all missing children.” How were the faces on the board selected? Many children are missing
THE INDEPENDENT: “Six months after Madeleine, another 600 are still missing”
Missing persons charities yesterday released figures “showing that more than 600 children have been missing in the UK for as long as Madeleine McCann, and are still unaccounted for”
Many are foreign. Many are teenagers. Not all are blonde
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Prayers for Madeleine McCann, six months on”
“The 3,500-strong population of Rothley - its trees decked in yellow ribbons and messages of support - came to a near standstill as Kate and Gerry arrived from their nearby home”
Locals can’t move for the press?
Rothley is an “affluent Midlands enclave”. This is McCann Land – the enclave - a small territory culturally and ethnically different form the surrounding lands
Says Gerry in his blog: “We have no idea whether she is suffering, but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”
THE GUARDIAN: “Madeleine book notes the ‘contradictions’”
More on Maddie 129, a book by Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia
“The message is that the case just doesn’t add up,” says a representative of the book’s publishers
THE SCOTSMAN: “Six months on, McCanns in new Maddie plea”
The picture of Madeleine on a Shetland pony was taken on a day out at the Hatton Country World park in Warwickshire on April 13 – “less than three weeks before she went missing”
THE TIMES: “Gerry McCann: ‘our princess prayer for Madeleine’”
Gerry McCann’s blog: “It is so painful for us simply being separated, but all the more distressing when we have to speculate about the situation Madeleine finds herself [in]. We have no idea whether she is suffering but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”

EVERYTHING strikes me as being strange about the way the McCanns have handled this lot. They have courted the publicity and every photo call - they have put themselves firmly in the limelight, they have pleaded, they have argued, they have cried the tears of the crocodile and they have held hands and cuddled the cat - they have also come across as being slightly uneasy - they went home - they have not gone to Morocco or Spain, they went to the Pope - they shuffled around Europe ( loads of sitings in Malta) did they go there - NO! Gerry was SURE that his daughter was in Spain - Oh yes they managed to go there for half a day and put up a few posters (half day closing and not a good a day as thought - their words not mine) YES we gotta give it to them - they have really tried, havnt they - Oh and the “definate” sighting in Belguim - Anyone who didnt know differently would have been there in a heatbeat - but not the McCanns - They have never gone anywhere where there have been reported sightings of their daughter - and this Moroccan lot - sitings reported to their highly paid private investigators - If it were me I would have been on the first flight checking out the bloody mountains - but none of it - they say a prayer and are photographed arriving home from a shopping trip with a Next bag on their arm

They also look like some my daughter had. China syndrome at work again. There goes another mystery.

REPLY TO DR WATSON RE ‘SOOTHSAYER’

Dr Watson, I have investigated the posts attributed to ’soothsayer’ that you mentioned on yesterday’s thread, which you said were numbered 704, 708 and 711.
The numbers have been changed slightly since then.
My analysis of posts around that time - all attributed to ’soothsayer’ - is as follows:-
Posts 669, 685, 694, 702, 706 and 713 are all the genuine ’soothsayer’.
But 710 is not ’soothsayer’.
‘Soothsayer’ was very adamant that the box containing Baby Grace was found on an uninhabited island.
This contradicts most of the press reports, like this one:
QUOTE
Sketches were released Friday of the child whose body was stuffed into a storage bin and found floating in Galveston Bay.
“We’re sorting through a lot of leads,” said Major Ray Tuttoilmondo with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office. “Nothing has hit a home run yet.”
Tuttoilmondo added that several callers said they believe the child’s body, which was discovered by a fisherman late Monday, may be that of Madeleine McCann, a 4-year-old British girl whose disappearance from a resort hotel in Portugal in May has made international headlines. In September, Portuguese police formally identified Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann as suspects in the case.
“Based on the totality of the circumstances, we do not believe it’s her (Madeleine).”
UNQUOTE
Another report says the box was ‘washed ashore’.
I’m not sure, though, that it makes that much difference whether it was found at sea or was ‘washed ashore’.
I think Baby Grace was probably murdered in a fit of rage and her clothed body placed in a box and thrown out to sea. I hope the perpetrator is found and jailed

Clothes can’t belong to the McCanns as they took everything to the local tip.

i have yet to have an answer from any of the pro mccanns about the only facts we have
November 4th, 2007 at 11:16 pm
962 Garth
So why do they keep using pictures of her which were clearly taken when she was a good deal younger. She looks very different, so what is the point of that?
But why not flood us with pictures of her in the holiday week?
Surely they are the best ones to use? Is it because they didnt actually have many as they werent actually with her that much?
Sadly your opinion is always carefully shaped to explain any inconsistancies and protect the Mccanns - so your credibilty as an ‘independant analyst’ decreases proportionately.
You are, in fact, ‘incredible’ and your defence is ‘ludicrous’.

after some deliberation i have come to the concusion that gerrykins and ComicalArse are both as thick as two short planks. Brilliant ain’t it - but once you realise this small thing, everything else is explained.
Good sport and tremendous fun, I say.

Devout Catholics Kate and Gerry had earlier taken Sean and Amelie to the church “for a few moments of solitude” before the service.
Which church was that then? Catho or Anglican?

so how does the carrier bag with clothes and shower curtain planted to be found in the layby near Faro fit in to this?
November 4th, 2007 at 11:10 pm
What is it with the Clarence. Does he not realise that repetative use of a word like ‘ludicrous’ begins to irritate and devalues the force of the word?
Its like Gerry using ‘incredible’ so often…’incredible support’ … meaning that their getting support is in fact incredible.
Oh and ‘Absolutely no suggestion’ as padding to help him think up words that will not incriminate.

There is a second sketch of BG, I seen it this morning. It shows B.G. full body (sat down) with her pink dress, white stocks and the tenis… Does anybody has the link?

[re notorious/famous last photo of Madeleine] “Proof please? Notorious? What because stevo concocted up a b_______ story, which, in the end only proved that stevo likes playing around with photoshop”.
REPLY: Garth, let me, please, ask you two sincere questions:
1. Does it strike you as strange, or not, that the world’s press had to wait three weeks for that last (digital) photo of Madeleine to be produced by the McCanns? They could have run it down to the local photo-print shop the next day. Three *weeks*, Garth, not three *days*
Your question in my opinion is a bit misleading. Not to me, but again to other posters. Firstly, it wasnt the first photo of Madeleiene to be released. There were plenty of photographs of Madeleine in news papers etc from day one. Secondly, the three week time period for the ‘latest’ photo of her was asked for by whom? I think you’ll find it was released on their own choice. And I would also guess that up until that time period no positive sighting of her had been forthcoming, so they then decided to release the ‘latest’ photo of her to try and jog peoples memories. Nothing sinister in that. So the answer to your question is No, it doesnt strike me as strange.
2. Does it strike you as strange, or not, that the McCanns could only produce one photo of Madeleine on holiday in Praia da Luz (so far as I am aware, anyway)?
I think the latest photo of her is a pretty clear picture of what she looks like. Dont you. ?It was, after all, on the day she went missing. And like people on here have stated, there has been at least two, possibly three photographs of her. How many do you want?
So again, no, it doesnt strike me as strange.

“Leaks from inside the police investigation suggested the so-called Tapas Nine ordered daiquiris, martinis and beers before dinner, downed up to 14 bottles of wine with their meal, and usually enjoyed almond liqueur afterwards.”

stevo, and if we go to the site about her pjs, you will know where it is, lots of confusion about whose their are ,i.e madelines or sisters,i know i have said this before but the smell of death in car was from clothes ,not body,no -one searching for clothes ,and a lot easier to transport in front of worlds press

Mr Powers - Asda is part of the Walmart chain - and they have kids clothes in the UK exactly the same as in the US Walmart stores - no difference - I took an ill fitting item bought in the US back to an Asda store in the UK and they changed it for a bigger size - exactly the same item

Interesting read.
I’m finding the sweet and sickly parts…’An excited Sean ran up to a collage of photos of his missing sister, touched each one and said: “My Madeleine!”’ increasingly nauseating - never properly attributed are they.
Oh well, Im off to Loughborough.
November 4th, 2007 at 11:02 pm
“Baby Grace” is unlikely to be maddy - unless her parents bought her clothes from American chains stores such as Wal-Mart.
IMO the bag of clothes was probably discovered by someone months ago (probably near the crime scene).
Once the significance of the contents was realised, the person then decided to leave the bag
where it would definitely be discovered and examined.
I cannot imagine that the perpetrator(s) would leave such evidence in a public place unless
it was meant to be discovered to distract attention from themselves.
