Hillary Clinton Is Where John Edwards And Barack Obama Want Her
WITH exactly one year to go to the presidential election and just two months to the presidential primaries, John Edwards has got Hillary Clinton right where he wants her.
Team Edwards has released an impressive campaign video that highlights Clinton’s slippery performance during the Democratic debate on Tuesday when she appeared to change policy every time she opened her mouth.
Edwards will continue the onslaught later today during a speech in Iowa where, according to the New York Times, he will say: “Senator Clinton is voting like a hawk in Washington, while talking like a dove in Iowa and New Hampshire. We only need one mode from our president: tell-the-truth mode all the time.”
Meanwhile, Barack Obama has accused Clinton of prizing political calculation over honesty.
Reporters are having no end of fun comparing Hillary’s slipperiness with that of her husband who once debated the finer points of the meaning of the word “is.”
And while some in the Clinton camp are accusing her rivals of sexism by ‘piling on’ to the lone female candidate, Clinton’s opponents are accusing her of playing the victim card now that the pressure has finally started to intensify.
Edwards and Obama still appear to be Democratic long shots. But the past week has definitely been a long one for Mrs Cllinton’s politics.

As much as I’d like to see a woman president, I don’t trust Hillary as far as I can throw her.

In my opinion, we should all be concerned that main stream media is so involved in the selling of Ms. Clinton as the inevitable Democratic nominee. Even the Republicans from George Bush on down are telling us she will be the nominee. Why is that? 1) Main stream media sees the “big story” of any women running for president. And, it doesn’t hurt that Clinton is part of the Washington elite that will make no change in the way things are done.
2) Clinton will be the easiest of the Democratic candidates to beat in the general election. We haven’t heard much from Karl Rove lately, I wonder what he is working on?
Are we that gullible? No! But we are going to have to prove it.

I was honored to be in the Reno, Nevada audience today with John Edwards and his local supporters. It is about trust, too. Both in the President’s relationship with the citizens, as well as the President’s relationship with the world. These relationships need to be reformed, as much as the government as a whole needs reform. America’s lobbyists and their powerful employers will have no problem doing business as usual with a corporate so-called Democrat. Sen. Clinton’s reported success so far is stark evidence of that truth. Blinton, Cush — what’s the difference? Leftist Democrats are capable of winning a close, fair election. With 55% of the popular vote, Sen. Edwards could overcome the chicanery characterizing the past two presidential races and lead a populist mandate.

The only way a republican can have the White House again is if HRC wins the nomination. Everyone I know will vote against her even if it means a republican. John Edwards is the only candidate that is truly for the people in all of his policies.

Hillary has the highest UNfavorability ratings of any candidate in U.S. history - and can’t depend on Dems to vote for her in Nov. 08.
No more plants! No more Bushes! John Edwards will be a great President!

America needs leadership not revenge victories.
Edwards is the ONLY candidate considering the issues, concerns and needs ‘of, for and by the people”. Even Vilsak (the Clinton campaign Co-Chair) said yesterday in a report that Clinton didn’t ‘get’ the relationship building in a campaign with the people. She just recently understood what that meant. I would have to say that she is only using it at this point. There will be no change in Washington under another clinton presidency that raised a war chest for the Bush agendas.
Edwards has been for and about the people even before he got into the political arena, and he is the only one with concise plans for turning this stagecoach-to-the- cliff around. Obama, in my opinion, is just air(e).

John Edwards comes out ahead of Republicans in Oklahoma, among the reddest of the Red States. Edwards is the one the Republicans fear most–because his firm support for the working class will steal the Republicans’ voter base. He focuses on the bread and butter issues of affordable universal health care, affordable higher education, supporting the unions that prop up the middle class, and saving the planet. He is direct, straightforward, and honest. A self-made man, he made his name and fortune by being one of the best of the best trial lawyers, and he did it by doing his homework–finding cases where an individual was sorely wronged by the company or hospital–where negligence and error were prominent and irrefutable.

Maybe I was giving Bush too much credit . . .let’s just say K. Rove and D. Cheney had a mixed up plan we are still trying to unravel, ephy.
and it appears that H.Clinton got ‘gang banged’ for being here and there and everywhere on her pedestal of shifting sand. But just wait for the real swiftboaters to launch their boats . . .she ain’t seen the perfect storm yet, but it’s coming if she’s still in the running!

Love how Edwards and Obama are both ‘long shots’ even though a single vote has yet to be cast. Yes, there’s the money vote - why bother with the election? The person raising the most money DOESN’T always win; the person who spends their dollars wisely, well…
I seem to remember a certain man named Howard Dean - it wasn’t that long ago. You can fall pretty fast once people start voting and the media stops telling us what they think.
Bush had a plan? I had no idea, ChezGary!
Go John Edwards!

Hiliary is all over the place. She has not shown the skills people require to bring people together, and she again represents special single issues, i.e. women, feminism, victim, \”piling on\”. She is not clear. She takes no risks, in spite of trying to sound left with her voice and Anti-Bush, it will be more of the same. She does not have Bill\’s skills and we won\’t have him as president. She is not as good as her husband. John Edwards is clear, he has a heart, he has no illegal or major scandal, he is intelligent, and he is strong on the right issues. When Americans wake up they will realize that he is a leader that can support the people who need support and he can assist and lead us into gaining international diplomatic strength and respect in the world. He will use our military and homeloand security resources with more skill. There is nothing new with Hiliary and her accomplishments are few. She is a known entity.

John Edwards is the right person at the right time to fight a broken system in Washington. H.Clinton is part of a failed system that is fighting for its status-quo life . . . we don’t need more of the same ol’ same ol’ system.
Edwards made a straight forward answer when asked if he was sending out a “code” about being the most electible democrat running for president. . . his answer, ” If you are not going to vote for Obama because he’s black, and won’t vote for Clinton because she’s a woman then don’t vote for me!”
It’s the issues, plane and simple and Edwards stands far ahead of all those seeking to be president.
Plans are of little value if they have no substance, Edwards plans are well outlined and he isn’t promising a free lunch! Bush had a plan too, but it wasn’t until he was appointed president that those costly plans came to light. LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP!

Catherine, you are not very well informed. Every major poll shows Edwards way out in the lead as far as the General Election is concerned. Obama comes in second and Hillary is way down on the totem pole. I suggest you pull up the latest Rasmussen poll and see for yourself.
Kerry lost by a very slim margin and the exit polls the day of the ‘04 election showed him winning. Had there not been hanky panky with the vote count and at the polls, Bush would not be occupying the Oval Office.

The American Left is the reason George Bush is president: John Kerry, Ralph Nader, and ill-considered timing of the gay marriage issue combined to lose election. No leftist can win a general election, period, full stop. Clinton is doing what she has to do in order to win. If you don’t like it, you’ll get another Republican. Neither Edwards nor Obama can win a general election. I agree with conservative George Will we should get rid of the primary system, so that candidates don’t have to pander to their extremist base whilst having to dissemble in order to win the general.

The 2008 election has thus far been about “Divide and Conquer”. The Clinton Loyalists are engaged in a coup and attempting to retake control from the Left Wing of the Democratic Party. The Left has been the backbone for America. Yes, I’ll admit that Democrats have been feeble in our attempts to check and balance this government. The powerful emotions of war and 9-11 are too powerful to overcome with our eyes closed. Edwards stands in opposition. Obama stands in opposition. Hillary is Bill Clinton’s version of President Bush. She is the only Democrat or Republican-Lite that is guaranteed to rubber stamp the Bush policy. She cannot clearly articulate her position because she would be disqualified if we knew exactly where she stands. She is running a “General Election” campaign because her positions make her more of a Republican than a Democrat or a respected member of the opposition. The Clinton agenda is all about revenge for Bill’s impeachment. She is trying to capture the anger of all women to empower Bill to disrespect them all again. We’ve “Been There and Done That”. With Edwards and Obama, everyone gets respect. Everyone gets included. With Hillary all we get is Bill, more Bush, and a stinky cigar. Go to Democracy for America and cast your first vote for Edwards and Obama if you really want change. The system is corrupt. Bill and Bush spied and lied.
