Madeleine McCann: A Bedroom, A bed And A Blanket
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “FIRST PIC OF SNATCH SCENE – INSIDE MADDY’S BEDROOM”
A picture of the holiday bedroom from where Madeleine McCann vanished. Useful. Perhaps seeing it will jog your memory…
The Mirror highlights three areas of the room:
DOOR: “LAST LOOK. Dad Gerry last saw his daughter form this door”
BED: “HER BED - “Rumpled covers and pillow on mattress”
WALLS: “UNTOUCHED – Room is as it was after police forensic team finished work”
We commend to your attention the shards of sardine roll, cigarette ash dropping and big footprints
The picture is an “EXCLUSIVE”
MADDY COPS WANTS McCANNS SILENCED” – A plan to do harm to Kate and Gerry McCann?
Almost as bad: “Portuguese police may gag Madeleine McCann’s parents by keeping them suspects for the next 15 years.” So too Robert Murat. This one has along way to run
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – THE HUNT SWITCHES TO BOSNIA AFTER NEW SIGHTING”
Page 9: “Tourist spotted Madeleine – I heard her yell: ‘I want my daddy’”
The Express hears news from Medugorje, Bosnia, the site of a Catholic shrine. As reported on Anorak, the man sees a girl who looks like Madeleine. He reports it to local police. Police shrug. He tells the McCanns’ private detective firm. They check the expense account. They respond
The “father of six”, from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, who asked not to be named, says: “From the minute I saw them, there seemed to be something odd going on. They both had a very swarthy complexion and the toddler with them was a blonde, fair child.” Dark, you say?
“She was wearing a little pink coat and was very agitated and sobbing. The instant I saw her my heart skipped a beat because it struck me that she looked like Madeleine McCann. I felt sure there was something wrong and started to move towards them. As they saw me coming, they started walking faster away from me. I was sure the child they had was not theirs. I got right up beside them, and was about to speak to the child when the man put his hand over her mouth and shoved her into the car. He was pushing her into the back seat and was yelling in a language I didn’t understand.”
“First look at bedroom” – Unless you have already seen the Mirror that is
“New nightmare as McCanns could be suspects for 15 years” – Says Francisco Pagarete, Robert Murat’s lawyer: “The problem is that in Portugal a suspect can remain an arguido for 15 years without any need for police to reapply or extend the status”
No problem for the press
THE SUN page 11: “MADDIE;S BEDROOM.” This is the “FIRST PICTURE” of “Inside the McCann holiday flat”
For those readers unfamiliar with the contents of a “bedroom”, the Sun uses an arrow pointing towards a box-shaped presence and tells us: “Bed she was in before she went missing.” A second arrow points to a “Blanket”
Clarence Mitchell hears of the sighting in Bosnia. Says he:”We are not dismissing it. The witness was 99.9 per cent certain the child was not with her natural parents”
DAILY MAIL page 19: “First photo of Maddie flat as hunt switches to Bosnia”
“Its narrow beds have been stripped of their sheets so they can be analysed for evidence”
And in Bosnia, the “very swarthy” people are with Madeleine. Like the man in Belgian, perhaps…
DAILY STAR page 9: “BOMBSHELL BOOK POINTS FINGER AT MADDIE PARENTS”
Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia have written Maddie 129. the Star says the book claims some of the Tapas Seven “had already given up searching for Madeleine and were in their own flats 90 minutes after the alarm was raised because ‘they already knew where she was’”
An American artist has been employed by the Star to make Madeleine’s hair from blonde to dark. (Non-experts can use a felt tip or boot polish)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “MADELEINE DETECTIVES CHECK NEW SIGHTING AT BOSNIAN SHRINE”
Page 7: Says Clarence Mitchell: “But as with all these reports, the McCanns refuse to raise their hopes until it has been investigated fully”
NEW YORK TIMES: “European Tabloids Still Agog Months After Child Vanishes”
“Six months after Madeleine McCann, then 3 years old, disappeared from her family’s vacation apartment in Portugal, no development in the case seems too small to merit a banner headline — even the news that her father had returned to his job as a doctor. Similarly, no story is too speculative”
THE GUARDIAN, THE INDEPENDENT and THE TIMES: No Madeleine news

There are some pretty powerful golf clubs but none with the number of members or such stricy vows of secrecy.
I will not go into my own experiences on this forum. However, ‘it has been said’ that promotion in the Police and civil service and planning applications (in some areas) can be greatly enhanced by lodge membership

127. Why would the UK government be so intensely involved in the missing child of two middle class doctors?
And why would the abductor open the shutters from the inside?
You asked: What exactly is this individual meant to have been threatend with? Disappearance into the Gulag?
I don’t know? What was David Kelly threatened with?

How did you end up crossing swords with Freemasons? I know a couple of Freemasons, they say it’s not much different from networking at the golf club.

“Have you seen this video about the Ann Enright article? “McCann Baiting” Vanessa Feltz’s comments are really odd, given how supportive the British media have been to the McCanns most of the time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkK5Zij6eOU”
I think TEAM MCCANN has come up with the myth that the McCanns were treated badly in the press from the start, even though the opposite is true. Their thinking is that people will then see the few negative comments as unfair. Maybe they got the idea from Heather Mills…
November 12th, 2007 at 10:38 am
this is not what I believe, I just picked it up and thought you would all like to discuss it, the same source also said that the freemasons of Portugal hold there annual big shin dig in May where every freemason in Portugal gathers (not sure where though), I am as intrigied as the next person, and to be honest 6 months down the line will stop and listen to any theory, it cant be any worse than the 140,999,890 that are already being thrown around IMO

would you not say that is possible that although a large scale conspiracy is very unlikely, a conspiracy between three or four individuals is more likely?

Agree with you. Just who would take a kidnapped child to a public place. Any why?
November 12th, 2007 at 10:36 am
99,
Shield of Truth,
What keeps the middle classes occupied?
You forgot to mention rising school fees - private education £12-20,000/annum for each child in a UK day school (not boarding, which is more expensive). Not many parents can afford the fees any more. Certainly not the average doctor, without family help, and there is a lot of that.
November 12th, 2007 at 10:36 am
Well, I suppose it was inevitable that the same levels of insanity would emerge here, as amongst the “9-11 Truth” movement.
Dark hints of state involvement, from anonymous sources “a political and ecnomic lobby”….
What exactly is this individual meant to have been threatend with? Disappearance into the Gulag?
Oh, as to “There are no signs that the shutters were forced.”…..why would they have needed to be forced, if they were opened from the inside? That would only have been an issue if that was the way the intruder got in.

For those whose copy of the People failed to be delivered yesterday:
‘Meanwhile, the specialist Metodo 3 agency hired by Gerry and Kate to track down Madeleine have extended their search to Saudi Arabia.
Investigators at the Barcelona company believe she may have been snatched by a millionaire paedophile in the oil-rich country.
They say the Middle East state could harbour thousands of people wealthy enough to pay for a “trophy” European child to be kidnapped to order’

106 that will be el mundo that came up with the tapas 4 to be named as suspects, there is no conspiracy and if there was it would have to be the biggest in the history of mankind and the tapas 7 no nothing so they have nothing to worry about, silence is their best avenue.
November 12th, 2007 at 10:34 am
Please, please, please…….. whatever dark forces are at work in this case it has nothing to do with freemasonary. I know there are some who want it to play a part, but it doesn’t. I am as anti-freemasonary as anyone, having crossed swords with freemasons at considerable persona loss to myself, but the freemasons are so unlikely to be involved that it is negligable.

I don’t why the Freemasons would have to be involved - any dedicated social climber can make powerful friends.
I don’t think anyone has anything to gain by covering up for the McCanns - but if you know someone and you’ve started helping them to get their missing child back, it would be difficult and embarrassing to withdraw that support without overwhelming evidence.

Neither pro nor anti McCann
“What name do you normally post under? You must be here a lot to know we have a tendency to split into 2 camps.”
Anyone who uses the name “Neither pro nor anti McCann” in a forum like this is PRO- MCCANN. Recently pro-McCann posters have become slightly more sly than previously, and like to pretend that they are in some ways critical of the McCanns. This is at the instructions of Clarence Mitchell, their boss.

Shield of Truth,
Yes, EPL is interesting. I think it might have something to do with DNA database? EU wide child alert system and tie-in products courtesy of Gerry’s incredible brain and Virgin? I also think the aid given recently to Portugal might be important to this case. And I feel strongly that there is blackmailing going on between UK and Portuguese politicians. I think both sides have their share of ugly secrets which could involve paedophilia. More than the Casa Pia investigation and something similar having transpired in the UK although a case has never been tried.

The Medugorje sighting sounds like a typical failed outing with a brand new stepchild; these usually end with tears and a wailed, guilt-inspiring demand for “Daddy” (or “Mommy”, depending on who the absent parent is.) So demoralizing - yet so banal.
After all, who would take a kidnapped kid to a shrine frequented by people from all over the world? Is Our Lady of Medugorje the patron saint of wanted fugitives now?

Karen, I read that one of the theories (by the McCanns creative team) is:
- Abductor gets into the room through the unlocked door
- GM comes to check kids
- Abductor hides behind door and holds breath
- GM leaves the apartment and meets a mate in the street outside (they chat outside)
- abductor is about to leave through the door w madeleine, but sees GM and his mate therefore decides to make a runner through the back window (must be hard to carry a small girl through the back window - but never mind).
Some questions that make this implausible are:
- The abductor got into the room and hid behind a door that seems to open out?
- Madeleine or the twins did not wake up with a stranger in the room
- abductor takes madeleine, but she doesn’t cry or scream?
- abductor takes madeleine, she cries and screams and GM + mate standing outside don’t hear anything?
The more information comes out about the possible abduction the less likely it makes it.
Once it is established that there has been no abduction, the McCanns will be in a difficult position.

don’t drop the theory yet! A bit of confusion is always useful during a cover up!

Sherlock
This story will have to be covered in the British press soon, if only to report what the European papers are saying.
Who really wants to see photos of the crime scene on the front pages of the newspapers, 6 months after the event? This is what the Daily Mail and the Mirror are offering readers today.
Have you seen this video about the Ann Enright article? “McCann Baiting” Vanessa Feltz’s comments are really odd, given how supportive the British media have been to the McCanns most of the time:

Spain has Muslim citizens but they’re mostly immigrants or first-generation. In fact, Spain is under threat from Islaamic terrorism because they would like to go back a few centuries and recover “Al-Andalus”, among other things (and, of course, Morocco would like to recover Ceuta and Melilla, which are basically Spanish enclaves on the Moroccan coast).
November 12th, 2007 at 10:24 am
104. Thanks Karen. I had thought that even though from Ottoman Empiree that their population became greater than RC or Orthodox. Will have to read up on their history as it has been some time.
Oh well, there goes my Muslim monster theory.

as per karen 104, not much of a muslim population. But then, your average tabloid aficianado probably doesn’t differentiate.
There is something in this - whilst all are speculating on patio doors and dna - there are much wider issues. I can’t get away from the choice ‘economic and political lobby’
Need to do some work now but will come back later.
