Madeleine McCann: A Bedroom, A bed And A Blanket
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “FIRST PIC OF SNATCH SCENE – INSIDE MADDY’S BEDROOM”
A picture of the holiday bedroom from where Madeleine McCann vanished. Useful. Perhaps seeing it will jog your memory…
The Mirror highlights three areas of the room:
DOOR: “LAST LOOK. Dad Gerry last saw his daughter form this door”
BED: “HER BED - “Rumpled covers and pillow on mattress”
WALLS: “UNTOUCHED – Room is as it was after police forensic team finished work”
We commend to your attention the shards of sardine roll, cigarette ash dropping and big footprints
The picture is an “EXCLUSIVE”
MADDY COPS WANTS McCANNS SILENCED” – A plan to do harm to Kate and Gerry McCann?
Almost as bad: “Portuguese police may gag Madeleine McCann’s parents by keeping them suspects for the next 15 years.” So too Robert Murat. This one has along way to run
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – THE HUNT SWITCHES TO BOSNIA AFTER NEW SIGHTING”
Page 9: “Tourist spotted Madeleine – I heard her yell: ‘I want my daddy’”
The Express hears news from Medugorje, Bosnia, the site of a Catholic shrine. As reported on Anorak, the man sees a girl who looks like Madeleine. He reports it to local police. Police shrug. He tells the McCanns’ private detective firm. They check the expense account. They respond
The “father of six”, from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, who asked not to be named, says: “From the minute I saw them, there seemed to be something odd going on. They both had a very swarthy complexion and the toddler with them was a blonde, fair child.” Dark, you say?
“She was wearing a little pink coat and was very agitated and sobbing. The instant I saw her my heart skipped a beat because it struck me that she looked like Madeleine McCann. I felt sure there was something wrong and started to move towards them. As they saw me coming, they started walking faster away from me. I was sure the child they had was not theirs. I got right up beside them, and was about to speak to the child when the man put his hand over her mouth and shoved her into the car. He was pushing her into the back seat and was yelling in a language I didn’t understand.”
“First look at bedroom” – Unless you have already seen the Mirror that is
“New nightmare as McCanns could be suspects for 15 years” – Says Francisco Pagarete, Robert Murat’s lawyer: “The problem is that in Portugal a suspect can remain an arguido for 15 years without any need for police to reapply or extend the status”
No problem for the press
THE SUN page 11: “MADDIE;S BEDROOM.” This is the “FIRST PICTURE” of “Inside the McCann holiday flat”
For those readers unfamiliar with the contents of a “bedroom”, the Sun uses an arrow pointing towards a box-shaped presence and tells us: “Bed she was in before she went missing.” A second arrow points to a “Blanket”
Clarence Mitchell hears of the sighting in Bosnia. Says he:”We are not dismissing it. The witness was 99.9 per cent certain the child was not with her natural parents”
DAILY MAIL page 19: “First photo of Maddie flat as hunt switches to Bosnia”
“Its narrow beds have been stripped of their sheets so they can be analysed for evidence”
And in Bosnia, the “very swarthy” people are with Madeleine. Like the man in Belgian, perhaps…
DAILY STAR page 9: “BOMBSHELL BOOK POINTS FINGER AT MADDIE PARENTS”
Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia have written Maddie 129. the Star says the book claims some of the Tapas Seven “had already given up searching for Madeleine and were in their own flats 90 minutes after the alarm was raised because ‘they already knew where she was’”
An American artist has been employed by the Star to make Madeleine’s hair from blonde to dark. (Non-experts can use a felt tip or boot polish)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “MADELEINE DETECTIVES CHECK NEW SIGHTING AT BOSNIAN SHRINE”
Page 7: Says Clarence Mitchell: “But as with all these reports, the McCanns refuse to raise their hopes until it has been investigated fully”
NEW YORK TIMES: “European Tabloids Still Agog Months After Child Vanishes”
“Six months after Madeleine McCann, then 3 years old, disappeared from her family’s vacation apartment in Portugal, no development in the case seems too small to merit a banner headline — even the news that her father had returned to his job as a doctor. Similarly, no story is too speculative”
THE GUARDIAN, THE INDEPENDENT and THE TIMES: No Madeleine news

Thanks. I’m looking at allsorts but it’s all down to time and the inevitable technical problems. I’ll add stuff as I go and hopefully it will be the ultimate one-stop shop for info on the case.

425. Pilimary,
Of course you are correct imo. I just find their countries of choice interesting. They don’t dare mess with the French! Totally skipped over that country as far as I know and absolutely no sightings in Italy? So we leap from Portugal to Malta to Spain to Belgium to Morocco and now Bosnia.

430 - Stevo - Excellent work!

Cheers. I’ve had all kinds of problems getting it to publish but cracked it this morning by altering some settings in the depths of Windows.
Pages will follow soon but I wanted to get the main framework up and running with the last photo explanation in detail along with the baby Grace info.

293 Peter O Says:
[About tapas 1 lawyer story]
“So…. Somebody else or a made up story?”
Now if this isn’t a good satire then I don’t know what satire would be.
An unnamed lawyer talks about his unnamed client, the unnamed client wants to make undisclosed clarifications, but fears unspecified pressure not from the McCanns, but from an unspecified economic and political lobby.
And then the punchline: The lawyer (!) claims:
“What my client wants is to get the truth out – meaning, he is not there to accuse or to clear anyone,”
So apparently it’s not at all about the unnamed client avoiding to be implicated. Why then does he need a lawyer?

Thanks for your reply. It seems that nobody else seems to want to answer! I am sad that although people are happy to post anonymously, nothing seems to be getting done officially. I, for one, am sending the letter to my MP. It’s only a little thing but it will help if everyone does the same. The British seem to grumble and moan but never actually do much. I believe that we do need the help of a renegade!

I think she’s dead. And that she died in Portugal, probably on the night she was taken. Even if she was meant to be kept alive, they couldn’t risk it with all the publicity.

Patch,
I am not British but Greek born (w/ Italian ancestry) living in the US.
While I think the petition is noble, to my knowledge, in the US they never amount to anything and end up being a total waste of time. Maybe it is different in merrry old England?
British like things on paper.
Greeks and Italians love protesting and will protest over the most minute detail of every day life (especially the Italians who I think use it as an excuse to have the day off).
The Spanish are alsos excellent at shutting down entire cities to protest - as they did after 11-M, the Madrid train bombings. They made several demands and shut down cities and town across the country. They came together as a country and voted in new leadership who acted almost immediately on these demands. What a beautiful example of democracy in action.
I personally believe you should be taking to the streets. For not only is something fishy going on where one little girl, of course deserving of being searched for, being given special privileges at the expense of other missing and exploited children. But British media appears to be in collusion with Caravan McCann.
For a country such as England to have the media so blatantly biased about murder suspects and to be printing such vile slurs against the Portuguese, in my heart and soul deserves street protests and refusal of paying taxes to a democracy hijacked.
imho of course.
Refusing to go to work and to holding back on paying government taxes might be the only way get truthful answers out of these theiving liars.
oh and refuse to purchase any products or services which advertise in news media which only offers pro-Mc stories. Protest outside of these news agencies as well.
Do you guys need a renegade Greek-Italian to help you out?

Q
One of your sentences?
November 12th, 2007 at 3:57 pm
So… If there are sightings in Morocco, half Anorak spent all week long talking about Morocco history, culture, habits…
Is it is in Bosnia, let’s talk a bout the differences between cathlics and muslims in Bosnia, economical figures, data…
Now, its the turn of Saudi Arabia. Riths, rules, laws for women and men, the Coran, the sharía, what can be the colour of Madeleine’s hair now, what percentage os muslims there are in Spain…
Pls, folks, wake up! Wherever the sightings are reported, Madeleine’s dead. She died in Portugal. Her parents, with someone else help, maybe, hid the body and invented a fucking cheap novel. A mere Pulp Fiction. Period.
Those who dont believe me and have other teories should not bother to answer or reply this post. She died in Portugal. Why? How? What for? Was it an accident? Was it for purpose? Nobody knows, as yet.
Her parents (only or accompanied by others) perpetred not only a farse but a serious international fraud. Hope the justice will show, sooner or later, the truth.

On the potential conflict of interest in one lawyer acting for the Tapas 9 I note from Legal Week:
‘Marks & Spencer (M&S) only discovered that Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer had accepted its ill-fated role to act for Philip Green in 2004 after reading about it in Legal Week, according to official findings from the Solicitors’ Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) published this week.
The report details how M&S was unaware that Freshfields was involved until Legal Week revealed its role for the consortium after the bid was announced in May 2004. M&S subsequently obtained an injunction to prevent Freshfields from acting.
The report reads: “On 27 May [2004], the consortium’s bid for M&S was publicly announced indicating that a recommended bid would be sought. At this time M&S did not know that Freshfields was acting for the consortium. On 28 May Legal Week published a report on the bid noting that Freshfields was advising the consortium which was brought to the attention of M&S by a partner in Slaughter and May, M&S’ lawyers.”
The findings are the result of a disciplinary hearing held during the summer in which Freshfields’ former corporate head, Barry O’Brien, was fined £9,000 and ordered to pay Law Society costs of £50,000 for his role in agreeing to act on the £9bn bid for the retail giant, which ultimately failed.
O’Brien admitted to claims by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) that he acted against the best interests of former client M&S and that he brought the profession into disrepute.’

ooops, just realized one of my sentences wasn’t perfect grammar, and I’ll blame it on my copy/paste abilities….please forgive me. I know this kind of mistakes don’t go unpunished on Anorak.

I don’t think anybody knows anything - all the so called witnesses are getting paid to witness.
why do we assume that someone who calls himself a “lawyer” is any less likely to have received money for a testimony than a waiter. ?
it could be anybody claiming to be the tapas 2 lawyer
