Madeleine McCann: A Bedroom, A bed And A Blanket
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “FIRST PIC OF SNATCH SCENE – INSIDE MADDY’S BEDROOM”
A picture of the holiday bedroom from where Madeleine McCann vanished. Useful. Perhaps seeing it will jog your memory…
The Mirror highlights three areas of the room:
DOOR: “LAST LOOK. Dad Gerry last saw his daughter form this door”
BED: “HER BED - “Rumpled covers and pillow on mattress”
WALLS: “UNTOUCHED – Room is as it was after police forensic team finished work”
We commend to your attention the shards of sardine roll, cigarette ash dropping and big footprints
The picture is an “EXCLUSIVE”
MADDY COPS WANTS McCANNS SILENCED” – A plan to do harm to Kate and Gerry McCann?
Almost as bad: “Portuguese police may gag Madeleine McCann’s parents by keeping them suspects for the next 15 years.” So too Robert Murat. This one has along way to run
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – THE HUNT SWITCHES TO BOSNIA AFTER NEW SIGHTING”
Page 9: “Tourist spotted Madeleine – I heard her yell: ‘I want my daddy’”
The Express hears news from Medugorje, Bosnia, the site of a Catholic shrine. As reported on Anorak, the man sees a girl who looks like Madeleine. He reports it to local police. Police shrug. He tells the McCanns’ private detective firm. They check the expense account. They respond
The “father of six”, from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, who asked not to be named, says: “From the minute I saw them, there seemed to be something odd going on. They both had a very swarthy complexion and the toddler with them was a blonde, fair child.” Dark, you say?
“She was wearing a little pink coat and was very agitated and sobbing. The instant I saw her my heart skipped a beat because it struck me that she looked like Madeleine McCann. I felt sure there was something wrong and started to move towards them. As they saw me coming, they started walking faster away from me. I was sure the child they had was not theirs. I got right up beside them, and was about to speak to the child when the man put his hand over her mouth and shoved her into the car. He was pushing her into the back seat and was yelling in a language I didn’t understand.”
“First look at bedroom” – Unless you have already seen the Mirror that is
“New nightmare as McCanns could be suspects for 15 years” – Says Francisco Pagarete, Robert Murat’s lawyer: “The problem is that in Portugal a suspect can remain an arguido for 15 years without any need for police to reapply or extend the status”
No problem for the press
THE SUN page 11: “MADDIE;S BEDROOM.” This is the “FIRST PICTURE” of “Inside the McCann holiday flat”
For those readers unfamiliar with the contents of a “bedroom”, the Sun uses an arrow pointing towards a box-shaped presence and tells us: “Bed she was in before she went missing.” A second arrow points to a “Blanket”
Clarence Mitchell hears of the sighting in Bosnia. Says he:”We are not dismissing it. The witness was 99.9 per cent certain the child was not with her natural parents”
DAILY MAIL page 19: “First photo of Maddie flat as hunt switches to Bosnia”
“Its narrow beds have been stripped of their sheets so they can be analysed for evidence”
And in Bosnia, the “very swarthy” people are with Madeleine. Like the man in Belgian, perhaps…
DAILY STAR page 9: “BOMBSHELL BOOK POINTS FINGER AT MADDIE PARENTS”
Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia have written Maddie 129. the Star says the book claims some of the Tapas Seven “had already given up searching for Madeleine and were in their own flats 90 minutes after the alarm was raised because ‘they already knew where she was’”
An American artist has been employed by the Star to make Madeleine’s hair from blonde to dark. (Non-experts can use a felt tip or boot polish)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “MADELEINE DETECTIVES CHECK NEW SIGHTING AT BOSNIAN SHRINE”
Page 7: Says Clarence Mitchell: “But as with all these reports, the McCanns refuse to raise their hopes until it has been investigated fully”
NEW YORK TIMES: “European Tabloids Still Agog Months After Child Vanishes”
“Six months after Madeleine McCann, then 3 years old, disappeared from her family’s vacation apartment in Portugal, no development in the case seems too small to merit a banner headline — even the news that her father had returned to his job as a doctor. Similarly, no story is too speculative”
THE GUARDIAN, THE INDEPENDENT and THE TIMES: No Madeleine news

Stroke of Brilliance.
The producers of the Portuguese documentary have brilliantly taken the line of questioning out of the private realm of the police headquarters into the public forum.
Synopsis of Documentary - Part I.
1. Cadaver dogs brought in. Both dogs pinpoint the same finding underneath a piece of furniture.
2. Forensic scientists remove DNA finding from underneath the floor tile of the family’s holiday apartment and send it to the Birmingham laboratory for analysis.
3. One month later the results are returned. “Within 24 hours” the McCann’s are summonsed for questioning. As soon as they are released, they flee Portugal.
Even more brilliantly, the line of questioning is now in the private world of the McCann’s, whose relatives, friends, neighbors, fellow church members, teachers, co-workers and acquaintances will all be wondering and asking,
“Hey K&M, how did Maddie’s DNA get underneath a floor tile in your family’s holiday apartment?”

I think it would also be useful if you could give information/links to other missing children. I dont think you want to be like some other sites.

I hope everyone has figured out that the previouly issued diagrams of the apartment layout were wrong.
The bedroom door opens completely differently to the diagrams when you look at the new bedroom photo.

Thanks Clouseau and Rockhopper.
Maybe I’ll find space for some ’spoof” merchandise items. That would be a good idea.
I need some corny music for the site as well.

Seconded. Rather ashamed of the British at the moment. Have uneasy feeling that some posters are using this as a form of amusement and one-upmanship.

Good work. Any plans for a shop selling ‘Justice forMaddie’ Tshirts and wristbands?
Might I suggest you canvass Vera for ideas as to which charities you could distribute the profits to!

Thanks for your reply (it makes a lot of sense… I often buy clothes whose sizes have notghing to do with European standards and and do not belong to any familiar pattern…)
Thanks also for your work regarding the web.

You know it’s time to call it quits when you find yourself following links to sites such as this;

Sorry, I must not have read that. My son has an item of Cherokee clothing from the UK and he said you couldn’t tell it was from the UK or USA from the label. It said made in India I think…or Pakistan…can’t remember but it wasn’t obviously able to be used to identify where it came from is the point.

lol…interesting thought eh? Actually, I might email them and ask if they’d like me to do that.
November 12th, 2007 at 4:27 pm
Stevo, a couple of days ago I was asking you if the sizes of B.G. belonged to American standards (i fear its to…) You seemed not to be available, but now you are…
Any explanation for the B.G. clothes to be seized within American standards sizes (not UK)?
(I also would give whatever for it to be truth (B.G. = mad.) but we have to be realistic
lol

Stevo,
Just a thought, but have you asked K & G if they want to put an appeal on your site to find their missing daughter.
November 12th, 2007 at 4:26 pm
15 years, that simply can’t be, the P. Police are going to keep Piity as a suspect just for snooping around the Gypsy Wagon until her hair turns white. Wait till she gets her whip back, she’ll teach that slime CM at thing or two about threats - threatening to sue and pissing off the P. Police……..and now this….
I tired to calm Pitty but nothing much is working. This oneupmanship is getting the better of her…..and threats are not becoming of dignified English doctors, oh pardon me…..not becoming of their hired help….there’s that’s more like it!

Pilimary Says:
Those who dont believe me and have other teories should not bother to answer or reply this post. She died in Portugal. Why? How? What for? Was it an accident? Was it for purpose? Nobody knows, as yet.
*************************************************
I don’t know if I (don’t/) believe you, but I wonder HOW do you know that? I mean, how do you know she died and how do you know she died in Portugal? I agree it’s most likely but on the other hand not even the police can prove it until now. Did her murderer confess to you? Are you a cop examining this case?
We’re all speculating, I think most of us hope (but don’t expect) to find MM alive and unharmed. And maybe, just maybee (because there are some really good discussions over here like the things brought up by Peter O and Tony Bennet e.g. -can’t remember all the names) this forum helps in finding the truth and justice for MM.
So let’s cut the emotions (as far as possible) and go on arguing, examining etc.

Thanks! I just get the feeling that, whilst people are happy to air their views anonymously, they won’t actually put their name to anything more official. I hope Stevo’s site is up and running soon. Please, everyone, get off your backsides and make some noise. Something very bad is happening and we know it!

Thank you. I’ll most likely be getting in touch…there’s quite a lot of stuff to go in all the pages.
November 12th, 2007 at 4:19 pm
Patch,
People have understandably become apathetic.
I hope sending petitions to your MPs will do something but I think if the action does not wrack the coffers and reputations of politicians - nothing will come of it.
imho
November 12th, 2007 at 4:18 pm
Interestingly the McCanns respond to any alleged sightings of Madeleine but refuse to acknowledge a dead baby 5400 miles away that is a perfect match in description to their missing daughter. Why is that?

There’s a lot of pooh on that wheat.
Difficult to know anything.
I think a lot people feel frustrated about this case and the unpleasant ramifications it has caused in England.

436 - Patch - Just to let you know, I too will be sending a signed copy to my local MP. I just hope that it makes a little bit of difference. I think that we need to encourage loads of people to do the same though.
