Madeleine McCann: A Bedroom, A bed And A Blanket
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “FIRST PIC OF SNATCH SCENE – INSIDE MADDY’S BEDROOM”
A picture of the holiday bedroom from where Madeleine McCann vanished. Useful. Perhaps seeing it will jog your memory…
The Mirror highlights three areas of the room:
DOOR: “LAST LOOK. Dad Gerry last saw his daughter form this door”
BED: “HER BED - “Rumpled covers and pillow on mattress”
WALLS: “UNTOUCHED – Room is as it was after police forensic team finished work”
We commend to your attention the shards of sardine roll, cigarette ash dropping and big footprints
The picture is an “EXCLUSIVE”
MADDY COPS WANTS McCANNS SILENCED” – A plan to do harm to Kate and Gerry McCann?
Almost as bad: “Portuguese police may gag Madeleine McCann’s parents by keeping them suspects for the next 15 years.” So too Robert Murat. This one has along way to run
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – THE HUNT SWITCHES TO BOSNIA AFTER NEW SIGHTING”
Page 9: “Tourist spotted Madeleine – I heard her yell: ‘I want my daddy’”
The Express hears news from Medugorje, Bosnia, the site of a Catholic shrine. As reported on Anorak, the man sees a girl who looks like Madeleine. He reports it to local police. Police shrug. He tells the McCanns’ private detective firm. They check the expense account. They respond
The “father of six”, from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, who asked not to be named, says: “From the minute I saw them, there seemed to be something odd going on. They both had a very swarthy complexion and the toddler with them was a blonde, fair child.” Dark, you say?
“She was wearing a little pink coat and was very agitated and sobbing. The instant I saw her my heart skipped a beat because it struck me that she looked like Madeleine McCann. I felt sure there was something wrong and started to move towards them. As they saw me coming, they started walking faster away from me. I was sure the child they had was not theirs. I got right up beside them, and was about to speak to the child when the man put his hand over her mouth and shoved her into the car. He was pushing her into the back seat and was yelling in a language I didn’t understand.”
“First look at bedroom” – Unless you have already seen the Mirror that is
“New nightmare as McCanns could be suspects for 15 years” – Says Francisco Pagarete, Robert Murat’s lawyer: “The problem is that in Portugal a suspect can remain an arguido for 15 years without any need for police to reapply or extend the status”
No problem for the press
THE SUN page 11: “MADDIE;S BEDROOM.” This is the “FIRST PICTURE” of “Inside the McCann holiday flat”
For those readers unfamiliar with the contents of a “bedroom”, the Sun uses an arrow pointing towards a box-shaped presence and tells us: “Bed she was in before she went missing.” A second arrow points to a “Blanket”
Clarence Mitchell hears of the sighting in Bosnia. Says he:”We are not dismissing it. The witness was 99.9 per cent certain the child was not with her natural parents”
DAILY MAIL page 19: “First photo of Maddie flat as hunt switches to Bosnia”
“Its narrow beds have been stripped of their sheets so they can be analysed for evidence”
And in Bosnia, the “very swarthy” people are with Madeleine. Like the man in Belgian, perhaps…
DAILY STAR page 9: “BOMBSHELL BOOK POINTS FINGER AT MADDIE PARENTS”
Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia have written Maddie 129. the Star says the book claims some of the Tapas Seven “had already given up searching for Madeleine and were in their own flats 90 minutes after the alarm was raised because ‘they already knew where she was’”
An American artist has been employed by the Star to make Madeleine’s hair from blonde to dark. (Non-experts can use a felt tip or boot polish)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “MADELEINE DETECTIVES CHECK NEW SIGHTING AT BOSNIAN SHRINE”
Page 7: Says Clarence Mitchell: “But as with all these reports, the McCanns refuse to raise their hopes until it has been investigated fully”
NEW YORK TIMES: “European Tabloids Still Agog Months After Child Vanishes”
“Six months after Madeleine McCann, then 3 years old, disappeared from her family’s vacation apartment in Portugal, no development in the case seems too small to merit a banner headline — even the news that her father had returned to his job as a doctor. Similarly, no story is too speculative”
THE GUARDIAN, THE INDEPENDENT and THE TIMES: No Madeleine news

I apologise re Pitty’s concerns about
ExcretoryFunctions and/or Ststems.
But sometimes these things are
relevant.
After all…we’ve had Dr G P
talking such stuff for over 6 months.

I think that Rebelo is covering every eventuality by looking over the statements again - no-one I would imagine in the PJ is stating that the statements were deliberately mistranslated. It is not as though anyone was translating a proposition by Wittgenstein (as per Monty Python).

I wonder how Gerrys day went?

Please don’t refer to anything vaguely involving shit or those areas or Pitty will get her radar up and grab the whip………she’s been on a shit rampage lately……

Sorry, i disagree. There’s deep pathology going on with the McCanns, no doubt.
But I doubt the PJ are so utterly incompetent as you describe. They seem rather more like the detectives in the JonBenet Ramsey case in Colorado, who were simply overwhelmed by the torrential publicity the powerful national emotions of the little blonde girl’s savage murder incited. Although JonBenet was murdered in her home, that home had recently been part of a community-wide “Christmas Open House.” Thousands of gawkers had paraded through the Ramseys’ residence just days before JonBenet was murdered, leaving their DNA all over the place. Likewise, Madeleine disappeared from a resort–a place with heavy foot-traffic from numerous transient persons, and her parents were vacationing with seven other friends and their children–a broad scattering of DNA.
Like the JonBenet murder, Madeleine’s disappearance was initially believed to be a kidnapping, and so the police naturally assumed there was no phsyical body in the house because the JonBenet ‘kidnappers” left a ransom note. So the police did not secure other areas of thehouse, and did not initially suspect the parents because of their wealth and prominence in the community.
And like in the Madeleine case, the Rmaseys “lawyered up” with high-priced legal talent almost immediately. The Ramseys delayed taking a polygraph, and when they finally did, it was administered by their own operator and came back inconclusive. The McCanns have never submitted to this step. Whether polygraph results are admissible at trial is irrelevant. The police use them to remove suspicion from the taker.
Madeleine’s case has so many similarities to the Ramsey and other well-known child homicides. The guilty sometimes go free, especially if they have the money to pay for good legal counsel. In this case, the McCanns lawyers are being paid for by well-wishing billionaires who also, we NOW hear from Clarence, are also footing the bill for legal advice to ALL the Tapas 9, who ALL have the same lawyer!

Original article http://sosmaddie.dhblogs.be/archive/…n-effraye.html
The lobby which encircles McCann scares ” (updated 22 h 30) the lawyer of one of the witnesses who want to change his statements in the inquiry, criticizes the pressure of the circle of the parents of Maddie and confides, today, in an article published by El Mundo. ” My customer is made keep silence regarding what he can make to help the inquiry and it is not because of the secret in which he is kept by Portuguese law. This proves to be extremely revealing on the strange circumstances which encircle all this affair “, assures the lawyer of one of the friends of the McCann which was in Tapas Bar at night when Madeleine disappeared, and one decides on whom to collaborate with the police, as El MUNDO advanced last Wednesday. ” It is not because he is afraid of McCann, but all economic and political lobby which encircles the couple scare whoever “.
” The police was called only after the group analyses the problems to which they could be confronted to have left their only children and, until now, my customer did not have opportunity to speak by himself about all that “, goes on the lawyer since his office in London. Since last September, this lawyer represents one of both friends of the McCann McCann which got in touch with the police to solicit opportunity to testify again and be able to so correct some details and divergences which had occurred in the course of statements made before by the group of the nine persons who crossed their vacation in Ocean Club.
” What my customer wishes to show all truth, but well while making understand it pretends neither to accuse, nor to exculpate nobody, because this is the task of the police. The only thing which he wants it is to help the police to know the truth, especially that it it is before crossed, during and after this dinner of May 3rd “.
Clarence Mitchell, the spokesman of the McCann, disclaimed this information, by being based on the fact that he had contacted the seven friends of the McCann and that all had assured that they had not given instructions to their lawyers to speak with the police and be again questioned. In front of the attitude of Mitchell, the British lawyer explains: ” When one take into consideration the pressure which was both exercised over my customer, and over other persons, it proves to be perfectly natural and comprehensible that my customer does not say to Clarence Mitchell that he had decided to hire his own lawyer to collaborate closely with the police “.
Besides proving to be extremely critical with all hysteria which was creates by mass media around the disappearing of Madeleine, this lawyer considers that affair is “much more serious” of what people believe:
” It is not because I want to accuse somebody, but there are very close persons of McCann who absolutely do not help them. Nevertheless, the intention of my customer is to show the truth of this sad history, without getting worried of whom can be wronged “.
The support which accepted McCann on behalf of the British Government is another aspect than criticized. ” I understand perfectly that our Government has legal obligation to help McCann. What I cannot understand it is that they accept support which go well beyond what could be considered normal in an affair as this one. Nevertheless, and for the first hours, it is already clearly that affair Madeleine was not a normal case of police.. My customer did not accept the smallest personal support by British authorities, if it is the one only him in receipt via COUPLE MCCANN “.
Questioned about the degree of involvement of the British Government and political connections which can be in touch with this affair, the lawyer answered: ” It is not part of my job to have to explain why and how certain politicians in this affair intervened, but I fear that these interventions were harmful not only for my customer, but, also, in search of the truth. “.

Logic, that’s why no matter what the DNA results are several people here and elsewhere will refuse to believe it.
I don’t know if the Americans would assist without knowing why? And with England withdrawing troop support from Iraq I don’t think US f eels it owes England any favours with all due respect.

470 - Portia. Is it known under what bit of furniture the DNA was found?
November 12th, 2007 at 5:07 pm
For those in the US, CBS’ 48 Hours, this Sunday, ‘Where’s Maddie’. Programme is entirely about MM’s disappearance. I am curious to see if the journalist asks tough questions or just backs the Mcs and British authorities as Mr. Klass (Polly’s father), Walsh (Amer’s Most Wanted) and Nancy Grace have all done.
November 12th, 2007 at 5:07 pm
Haven’t caught up with all the posts yet, but in case this hasn’t been answered yet, I think it was the Nanny who was on the scene early that said Kate did’t move from the couch.
She said they were trained to comfort parents, and that she sat with her to comfort her.

More mis-information within that Telegraph Article :
***He,(((Rebelo))), was brought in to take over from Chief
Inspector Goncalo Amaral, 47, who was sacked at the beginning
of October, following a swathe of criticism that the police
investigation had been flawed from the start.*****
Wasn’t Chief Inspector Amaral “removed from the case” following
his complaints that the British Government was interfering and
hampering the Criminal Investigation ??

If Baby Grace was found to be Madeleine, is it likely that this would be made public? If the British government have something to hide, it is likely that the Americans would help them, in the interests of the “close relationship between the UK and the US”. Who agrees with this?

Sounds good to me. First they will probably ask for immunity….and we know that Kate at least appears quite “mad”……
The pressure is mounting….one sword swipe after the other…..and the winner will be, well - not Madeleine and I hope the P. Police!

Blood on the apartment floor tiles
DNA in the boot of the car
Numerous trips to the tip
Self-serving, inconsistent statements from the parents
Laughable “descriptions” of a faceless kidnapper from Tanner
Cadaver dogs targeting Kate McCann & Cuddle Cat
Body language of McCanns (nodding head “yes” while verbally answering “no,” and much more)
I mean, it goes on and on and on.
Sorry to say it, but it all indicates a violent death for the little girl.
There’s no evidence of kidnapping whatsoever.

462. I’ll see if I can get a few months off from work and if my husband won’t mind watching our little boy. I’m sure he’d find a way to let me go if he could hire a French or Poruguese au paire while I am away.
Good British citizens. Drink spring water and get plenty of sleep. Restrict yourselves to 9 hours (one hr for every known tapparatti) of Anorak per day - total! (I’m a cruel mistress!) Eat lamb, venison, salmon, liver, tofu, edamame, fresh eggs and chicken or game birds. If vegan take protein, potassium and magnesium supplements.
Protein and plenty of brainfood.
Stop reading the tabloids!
Make papier mache effigies of the Mccanns and tapas 7.
That’s the real fun of protesting.
Oh and affiliate yourself with mod, rocker, bohemian or slacker and where appropriate “hip” clothing. Shoes are important and should be stylish yet comfortable. If not something you can run away in they should be excellent weapons when kicking a copper or pro-Mc in the groin.
When in doubt always kick The Man in the balls.

It’s strange, I vaguely remember reading about the floor tile being taken up but I had completely forgotten about it. Come to think of it, the press has been completely silent about the floor tile.
The DNA find underneath(!) the floor tile is, IMO, the most damning piece of evidence. Before viewing the documentary, I had assumed that the worst find to date was in the hire car.

what about this angle–now that the Tapas 9 (and the Drs. McCanns) are facing 15 years of purgatory, suddenly a lawyer appears (as if by magic) who announces that the “truth” is a “sad story” (which indicates the Tapas 9 are now going to go with the tragic accident scenario, since the possibility of being thought of as murderers for over a decade will be too costly to their careers).
They had hoped to create a perfect fake abduction scenario, but almost nobody believes them anymore, and the costs have become increasingly high for them all, every day.
If they finally admit to an “accident” and then “disappearing” the body in “a moment of panic,” there will be some revulsion, some scary chattering about consequences, etc., but kate will plead madness, and the world will go, “boo hoo hoo,” and in a year it will all be forgotten, and the Tapas 9 will then quietly resume their lives as wealthy doctors. The money collected will go towards helping “missing children everywhere.”
How about it?
November 12th, 2007 at 4:53 pm
The McCanns and all the believers tied yellow ribbons for Madeleine. How about all of us who want truth for madeleine wear a white one. Im sure we would see a lot more of those around since the yellow ones are gradually dwindling.

457. Pilimary,
It was reported on a national crime/court programme in the US that Baby Grace’s skirt and top were labeled 2T. Do you know if toddler clothing is sized like this in the Europe/UK? On the programme they said it was different but maybe they are incorrect? Both me and my husband have clothes purchased in Europe or manufactured in Europe and the size and ittem care tags are both different than those for clothing made for US market.
Also age I heard has always been 2-3 not 2-5. Not sure where Stevo got that info.
November 12th, 2007 at 4:48 pm
I’ll tell you what’s not amusing - keeping the McCann’s suspects for 15 years means that the crime is no where close to being solved - so finding a body becomes even more imperative - finding Madeleine dead or alive…
In the meantime, every upset little blond girl of the same general appearance and age will be harassed…….and their parents hounded and followed and splashes of photos in the paper and still no Madeleine….who can we thank for this?
