The Express hears news from Medugorje, Bosnia, the site of a Catholic shrine. As reported on Anorak, the man sees a girl who looks like Madeleine. He reports it to local police. Police shrug. He tells the McCanns’ private detective firm. They check the expense account. They respond
The “father of six”, from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, who asked not to be named, says: “From the minute I saw them, there seemed to be something odd going on. They both had a very swarthy complexion and the toddler with them was a blonde, fair child.” Dark, you say?
“She was wearing a little pink coat and was very agitated and sobbing. The instant I saw her my heart skipped a beat because it struck me that she looked like Madeleine McCann. I felt sure there was something wrong and started to move towards them. As they saw me coming, they started walking faster away from me. I was sure the child they had was not theirs. I got right up beside them, and was about to speak to the child when the man put his hand over her mouth and shoved her into the car. He was pushing her into the back seat and was yelling in a language I didn’t understand.”

“New nightmare as McCanns could be suspects for 15 years” – Says Francisco Pagarete, Robert Murat’s lawyer: “The problem is that in Portugal a suspect can remain an arguido for 15 years without any need for police to reapply or extend the status”

For those readers unfamiliar with the contents of a “bedroom”, the Sun uses an arrow pointing towards a box-shaped presence and tells us: “Bed she was in before she went missing.” A second arrow points to a “Blanket”
Clarence Mitchell hears of the sighting in Bosnia. Says he:”We are not dismissing it. The witness was 99.9 per cent certain the child was not with her natural parents”
DAILY MAIL page 19: “First photo of Maddie flat as hunt switches to Bosnia”
“Its narrow beds have been stripped of their sheets so they can be analysed for evidence”
And in Bosnia, the “very swarthy” people are with Madeleine. Like the man in Belgian, perhaps…

Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia have written Maddie 129. the Star says the book claims some of the Tapas Seven “had already given up searching for Madeleine and were in their own flats 90 minutes after the alarm was raised because ‘they already knew where she was’”
An American artist has been employed by the Star to make Madeleine’s hair from blonde to dark. (Non-experts can use a felt tip or boot polish)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “MADELEINE DETECTIVES CHECK NEW SIGHTING AT BOSNIAN SHRINE”
Page 7: Says Clarence Mitchell: “But as with all these reports, the McCanns refuse to raise their hopes until it has been investigated fully”

Interesting US murder case where suspect was successfully prosecuted without body and with very little evidence. Small amount of blood found under bathroom tiles. Nearly, if not all evidence, wass circumstantial. Wealthy businessman too.

But back on 14th May the Mail ran an article about the Tapas 7 giving evidence on video
‘This week the group are set to appear in court behind closed doors to record their evidence for any future trial before they go back to the UK.
The procedure, known as “memory for the future”, is similar to a mock trial in which the friends would give evidence as witnesses now against a future defendant.
Local lawyer Artur Rego said the procedure was used only in exceptional cases such as this where a large group of witnesses are foreign.
“It is recorded by video and kept sealed then released during the hearing,” he said.
“If somebody is ever charged then this statement can then be unsealed and disclosed for the judge who is going to hear the case.
“It has the same value as witness statements delivered live in the trial.”
Bit difficult to argue with a sealed video record of exactly what was said, yes?

Stevo. I’m impressed with your Baby Grace/Madeleine page on the site. You know what my feelings are on this case, and I fear that with your detailed explanations and answers for mostly everything concerning BG/M, there may be attempts to sabotage your site.
I remember the other evening asking you to look at the shoes that Madeleine was wearing in the playground pic, and I’m glad to see that you’ve included it on the page! (I went to bed shortly after I asked you to “enlarge/enlarge
so I’m not sure if you answered me that evening)
I know there are a lot of people here who are going to scoff at you, as they totally disbelieve that BG could be Madeleine, but Stevo, you have my full support on this, as I believe there is a huge possibility that it could be her.
I have seen newspaper articles where they supposedly discount entirely that it is Madeleine, but then shortly afterwards other reports pop up that they have not ruled out the possibility!

For those who don’t have the video connection to see the Portuguese documentary, “Madeleine McCann, Anatomy of a Mystery,” here is a partial transcription from Part I:
“On August the first, the police returned to the apartment from which Madeleine disappeared. The two British dogs reacted simultaneously to a floor tile - under the living room sofa - where the McCann’s spent their holidays. Then for the first time, the police removed the tiles and forensic experts have collected a small sample of what seemed to be blood - something that had drained down through the edge of the tile. The findings were sent to the Birmingham laboratory. A month later the Birmingham laboratory sent the first results of the forensics tests. In 24 hours, Kate and Gerry were summonsed by the police. ” (Then follows Philomena who states that the police offered Kate a deal to confess to an accident.. That is followed by the first spokesperson who says “…ludicrous suggestion that blood was found in the hire car”…). The narrator continues, “33 hours later, Kate and Gerry boarded an Easy Jet plane without going through the checking procedures.”
Much more, but that’s the best part of Part I.
NOTE: Team McCann consistently ignores the DNA finding under the floor tile yet I suspect that is the finding that sent them fleeing out of Portugal.

But as the UK Media/Press have totally
deserted any form of seeking Justice for
Madeleine by completely failing to
even attempt to do a proper Investigative
study of the case…..I feel that it is only
right that those who genuinely care for
Madeleine and who genuinely care about
what happened to the poor child, should
continue to ask as many questions as
possible, and to embarrass those members
of the Media by showing that we just don’t
swallow the unprofessional rubbish they
print about the case.

Well Gerry’s next magic act will be to have the boy disappear. This will happen right around Christmas so he can pay holiday credit card bills in January.
To lose one child may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.

Pitty thinks that not even Finding the body will do much good now……the McCanns have wiggled their way out of this thorny mess……and are happily ensconced in their fairy tale world of all is well - and we’ve overcome…..
Wonder what their answer will be for the DNA under the tile?……means nothing, dismissed as inconsequential……justice does not always prevail…..not in the real world of politics, influence, and money…….
First J.Rawlings will need to withdraw her support….Pitty thinks there’s much Power behind Harry Potter and his magical friends…..when H.P. gives up….well that indeed will be news!

An RC theology doctorate told me a few days ago that one cannot publicly dedicate a RC mass to any one person. One can pray for a person during a mass, of course. But there are no “memorial” masses said, no personal masses said. I am not sure if this is true. He also said that while civil laws don’t normally protect the sanctity of the confessional anymore, the Church does not permit its priests to reveal anything confessed, even murder.
If a priest were to be questioned by law authorities and urged to break his vow of silence, the Church would most likely simply move that priest away from the controversy for a while, send him to a different place, etc. There’s no extradition of priests from the Vatican! But there are lots of ways to get a priest involved in a criminal controversy “out of Dodge.”
It’s probably not exactly on point to what you were discussing, but i know you talked about it earlier, so I just thought I would pass it on.

This is the wheat and chaff thing again. Who knows what the truth surrounding CI Amaral’s departure is? Interpretation depends on which side of the fence you fall.
Everything is conjecture and speculation unfortunately and to me, at the moment, it appears as though enough PR fog is being created to make serious debate pointless.
I may be falling into a well planned trap designed to make me lose interest but I simply don’t care. If the McCanns and their entourage don’t care enough about Madeleine to speak up and tell the truth about what happened on May 3rd and stop all the PR, publicity stunts and “pact of silence” crap then why should I?
It may sound selfish but terrible things happen every minute of every day all around the world and the amount of time given to this one event is not justifiable any longer.
