Madeleine McCann: A Bedroom, A bed And A Blanket
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “FIRST PIC OF SNATCH SCENE – INSIDE MADDY’S BEDROOM”
A picture of the holiday bedroom from where Madeleine McCann vanished. Useful. Perhaps seeing it will jog your memory…
The Mirror highlights three areas of the room:
DOOR: “LAST LOOK. Dad Gerry last saw his daughter form this door”
BED: “HER BED - “Rumpled covers and pillow on mattress”
WALLS: “UNTOUCHED – Room is as it was after police forensic team finished work”
We commend to your attention the shards of sardine roll, cigarette ash dropping and big footprints
The picture is an “EXCLUSIVE”
MADDY COPS WANTS McCANNS SILENCED” – A plan to do harm to Kate and Gerry McCann?
Almost as bad: “Portuguese police may gag Madeleine McCann’s parents by keeping them suspects for the next 15 years.” So too Robert Murat. This one has along way to run
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – THE HUNT SWITCHES TO BOSNIA AFTER NEW SIGHTING”
Page 9: “Tourist spotted Madeleine – I heard her yell: ‘I want my daddy’”
The Express hears news from Medugorje, Bosnia, the site of a Catholic shrine. As reported on Anorak, the man sees a girl who looks like Madeleine. He reports it to local police. Police shrug. He tells the McCanns’ private detective firm. They check the expense account. They respond
The “father of six”, from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, who asked not to be named, says: “From the minute I saw them, there seemed to be something odd going on. They both had a very swarthy complexion and the toddler with them was a blonde, fair child.” Dark, you say?
“She was wearing a little pink coat and was very agitated and sobbing. The instant I saw her my heart skipped a beat because it struck me that she looked like Madeleine McCann. I felt sure there was something wrong and started to move towards them. As they saw me coming, they started walking faster away from me. I was sure the child they had was not theirs. I got right up beside them, and was about to speak to the child when the man put his hand over her mouth and shoved her into the car. He was pushing her into the back seat and was yelling in a language I didn’t understand.”
“First look at bedroom” – Unless you have already seen the Mirror that is
“New nightmare as McCanns could be suspects for 15 years” – Says Francisco Pagarete, Robert Murat’s lawyer: “The problem is that in Portugal a suspect can remain an arguido for 15 years without any need for police to reapply or extend the status”
No problem for the press
THE SUN page 11: “MADDIE;S BEDROOM.” This is the “FIRST PICTURE” of “Inside the McCann holiday flat”
For those readers unfamiliar with the contents of a “bedroom”, the Sun uses an arrow pointing towards a box-shaped presence and tells us: “Bed she was in before she went missing.” A second arrow points to a “Blanket”
Clarence Mitchell hears of the sighting in Bosnia. Says he:”We are not dismissing it. The witness was 99.9 per cent certain the child was not with her natural parents”
DAILY MAIL page 19: “First photo of Maddie flat as hunt switches to Bosnia”
“Its narrow beds have been stripped of their sheets so they can be analysed for evidence”
And in Bosnia, the “very swarthy” people are with Madeleine. Like the man in Belgian, perhaps…
DAILY STAR page 9: “BOMBSHELL BOOK POINTS FINGER AT MADDIE PARENTS”
Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia have written Maddie 129. the Star says the book claims some of the Tapas Seven “had already given up searching for Madeleine and were in their own flats 90 minutes after the alarm was raised because ‘they already knew where she was’”
An American artist has been employed by the Star to make Madeleine’s hair from blonde to dark. (Non-experts can use a felt tip or boot polish)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “MADELEINE DETECTIVES CHECK NEW SIGHTING AT BOSNIAN SHRINE”
Page 7: Says Clarence Mitchell: “But as with all these reports, the McCanns refuse to raise their hopes until it has been investigated fully”
NEW YORK TIMES: “European Tabloids Still Agog Months After Child Vanishes”
“Six months after Madeleine McCann, then 3 years old, disappeared from her family’s vacation apartment in Portugal, no development in the case seems too small to merit a banner headline — even the news that her father had returned to his job as a doctor. Similarly, no story is too speculative”
THE GUARDIAN, THE INDEPENDENT and THE TIMES: No Madeleine news

Unbelievable letter.

701. Garth, will all due respect - I have said many times that I do not know exactly what happened to M but I do very much believe they, like the British authorities and police, know much more than they let on.
They have turned their daughter into a a porn queen for paedo everywhere. Obviously, their viral marketing campaigns have not worked to serve any logical function other than to turn global paedophiles on daily; deflect serious criticism of themselves and their own personal responsibililty in this mess; to divert attention to endless leaked rumours, innuendo and juvenile slurs against Portuguese culture and people but has not managed to entice anyone to step forward with credible info on M and collect the handsome reward.
If their campaign was executed with the serious intention of finding Madeleine quickly and before she is murdered - then the campaign is a complete and total failure. If it was to reach any of the above objectives I sited or the campaign and fund was created to make K& G famous then they suceeded.

That may well be true. I was not saying my hypothesis is fact, just that it was a hypothesis. I made that hypothesis without reference to Morgans statement. I just said I found it ‘interesting’ - excuse me for breathing.

suggest that it was an inconvertable
Fact.
It wasn’s quite so….it said ” I think you can

Thus what he was stating was not actually a fact
but his assumption.

Oh, it has indeed. Sadly the McCanns seem incapable of grasping that it is Madeleine’s plight that matters…

How does “In any event I think you can rest assured that the” render the possible involvement of the intelligence services impossible?

the root of this problem is not the Portugal or the Portuguese Police, it is irresponsible parenting by a pair of greedy, fun-loving Brits who, despite being nearly 40, were too selfish and emotionally retarded to understand the concept of ‘family holiday’.

ages i posted on here, i buried my son on 3rd may, and also lost my 2 month old daughter last year on 23rd july. I have two other kids and as someone who has suffered a lot through the losses ive incurred ive said from day one that not only is the Mcanns fault cos they left the kids alone, i thought there was something not right and totally suspect with these parents. I would also like to state that i am 22 years old and if we had ‘done a mccann’ and one went missing the other two would have been taken off us and the press given us a battering and been charged with willful neglect.
Does n e 1 find it strange the british press have said bugger all about baby grace and i didnt fine out until 4 days after story broke in u.s and only fro this site and its links that u guys posted????
surely had it not been for rich older parents and press weirdness baby grace would be front page news???
Hey guys, fort i’d copy my earlier post so you know my background, i had to leave and take care of my kids, a task too much for some people!!! did ne 1 posting now check out the earlier posts with the shoes bg was wearing and pics of maddies shoes? they are one and the same surely. i think bg is maddeline and if you look at that website and the uk media cloak of darkness over bg i’d say it has to be her or like i stated earlier she’d be front page news. if their was chance bg was my kid id get a plane over ther and see for myself, if it werent then they are doctors they can handle seeing the wrong body better than most.

Sadly, it can be true. There are a lot of missing chillndren everywhere, also in Spain. Maybe, there are much more missing chilndren than bodies found. Perhaps that’s why BG is so famous. In Spain, when a body appears (and if its a child, much more) its in the news the day after , the latest.
Well, gotta go friends. syt

Peter O: McBaLS ™ ® © is expected to be launched two weeks after March 18th 2008, though there are thought to be some fund issues which may delay the launch until two weeks prior to April 15th 2008.
As we went to press it has come to light that McBaLS ™ ® © have lodged a number lawsuits against other providers offering similar service. A source close to the Comical One is alleged to have said, “their (our competitors) services are clearly inferior products designed to mislead the public by claiming to be based on the now world famous McBaLS model. In case you’re suffering from a touch of amnesia, here’s a quote direct from Gerry McCann’s famous blog:
“What Kate and I did was at worst naïve and no one should forget that the real criminal is the predator who has taken a completely innocent child in such a premeditated fashion”.
Leaving three young children on their own when they could fall out of bed, bang their heads, perish in a fire…or get abducted.
Naive.

And speaking about a (possible) conspiracy between the T 7 or 9 : why on earth would smart GMcC be so stupid to involve anyone and be vulnerable for blackmail afterwards?
Someone wrote he/she thinks the british cops/intelligence already cracked the case. I wouldn’t be surprised. On the other hand if there’s any DNA proof why isn’t someone arrested yet?

I don’t think I will be alone in sending the petition letter to my MP, duly signed with my correct address at the head. I am not at all fearful or ashamed to potest at the injustices evident with the disappearance of Madeleine. I hope many others will protest about those in authority who imagine the general public is so gulible it can be hoodwinked or bulldozed into submission.
November 12th, 2007 at 8:19 pm
Pilimary. My words sound exaggerated but it is true. I never heard about the other missing little girls until BG was discovered. Because the story is so tragic and has such a strong human element it will be reported more heavily than the stories of the other missing children (until the next murdered jane/john is found). Just go to the center of missing and exploited children’s website and you will see what I mean. US has thousands of unsolved child murder and missing child cases.
November 12th, 2007 at 8:18 pm
Garth,
I don’t think anyone thinks Portugal is crime-free. That would be stupid.
However, thousands of families holiday there every year without coming to any harm and I still maintain that it is a reasonably safe environment unless, of course, you deliberately place your children in harm’s way, in which case anything can (and did) happen.
Slating Portugal is all very well, and I can understand the McCann apologists jumping on the bandwagon (particularly after that slimeball, Merchant, has made it so very comfortable) but the root of this problem is not the Portugal or the Portuguese Police, it is irresponsible parenting by a pair of greedy, fun-loving Brits who, despite being nearly 40, were too selfish and emotionally retarded to understand the concept of ‘family holiday’.

I have some notes somewhere that I started but never finished about the launch of McBaLS ™ ® © - Stuff about the unique McStaggerWatch (McSteW ™ ® © for short) system that ensures children are listened to at least every 30 minutes. Though research from a some prof at a Spanish University demonstrates that in fact because of the unique properties of McStew ™ ® © that children are in fact checked every 8 minutes thereby making abduction almost impossible and reducing the ‘risk window’ to within acceptable limits to minimise the likelihood of child neglect charges.
Of course, Comical Clarry, McCaLS ™ ® © Publicity Director was forced to answer embarrassing questions about a minor that had been mislaid during a trial run for the service. Defending the service the Comical One stated:
“In fact there is no proof that the subject of your question has indeed come to any harm. The parents seem happy with the outcome and remain convinced that the minor is in a better place probably giving some poor unsuspecting soul a piece of their mind.”
Asked how many calls they have had to the McBaLS ™ ® © hot line (0906 487 2 266
– Calls cost a reasonable sum per minute and last no longer than it takes to contact the local authorities in the event of an emergency) the Comical One said:-
“We are currently receiving a high volume of interest from people who are interested in the flexible working, pool side free local vino reimbursement model.”
Pressed for details regarding potential clients, the Comical One said, “That’s highly confidential information that I’m not prepared to discuss on camera, however if you’d like to contact my luncheon secretary I’m sure I could put your mind at rest.”
McBaLS ™ ® © is expected to be launched two weeks after March 18th 2008, though there are thought to be some fund issues which may delay the launch until two weeks prior to April 15th 2008.

Re your SELECTING from Andy’s Post :
“British police and intelligence services have long
had a better grip on the facts of this case than the
Portuguese police.”
and your comment :
Now that is interesting. Many weeks ago I hypothesised
that one reason the UK ‘establishment’ might be ‘assisting’
the McCanns more than usual was if they had some
intelligence gained information that made such support
warranted.
Not quite so : Andy’s Post stated that :
“”"In any event I think you can rest assured that the British
police and intelligence services have long had a better grip
on the facts of this case than the Portuguese police.”"

The problem with relying on anything that Piers Morgan says is that he’s a proven liar.
‘In 1997 Piers Merchant learned the camera never lies when he was photographed kissing a blonde, 17-year-old nightclub hostess. He claimed the pictures were a set-up. Six months later he was ‘set up’ again with the same woman, and decided to resign. ‘
