Madeleine McCann: A Bedroom, A bed And A Blanket
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “FIRST PIC OF SNATCH SCENE – INSIDE MADDY’S BEDROOM”
A picture of the holiday bedroom from where Madeleine McCann vanished. Useful. Perhaps seeing it will jog your memory…
The Mirror highlights three areas of the room:
DOOR: “LAST LOOK. Dad Gerry last saw his daughter form this door”
BED: “HER BED - “Rumpled covers and pillow on mattress”
WALLS: “UNTOUCHED – Room is as it was after police forensic team finished work”
We commend to your attention the shards of sardine roll, cigarette ash dropping and big footprints
The picture is an “EXCLUSIVE”
MADDY COPS WANTS McCANNS SILENCED” – A plan to do harm to Kate and Gerry McCann?
Almost as bad: “Portuguese police may gag Madeleine McCann’s parents by keeping them suspects for the next 15 years.” So too Robert Murat. This one has along way to run
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – THE HUNT SWITCHES TO BOSNIA AFTER NEW SIGHTING”
Page 9: “Tourist spotted Madeleine – I heard her yell: ‘I want my daddy’”
The Express hears news from Medugorje, Bosnia, the site of a Catholic shrine. As reported on Anorak, the man sees a girl who looks like Madeleine. He reports it to local police. Police shrug. He tells the McCanns’ private detective firm. They check the expense account. They respond
The “father of six”, from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, who asked not to be named, says: “From the minute I saw them, there seemed to be something odd going on. They both had a very swarthy complexion and the toddler with them was a blonde, fair child.” Dark, you say?
“She was wearing a little pink coat and was very agitated and sobbing. The instant I saw her my heart skipped a beat because it struck me that she looked like Madeleine McCann. I felt sure there was something wrong and started to move towards them. As they saw me coming, they started walking faster away from me. I was sure the child they had was not theirs. I got right up beside them, and was about to speak to the child when the man put his hand over her mouth and shoved her into the car. He was pushing her into the back seat and was yelling in a language I didn’t understand.”
“First look at bedroom” – Unless you have already seen the Mirror that is
“New nightmare as McCanns could be suspects for 15 years” – Says Francisco Pagarete, Robert Murat’s lawyer: “The problem is that in Portugal a suspect can remain an arguido for 15 years without any need for police to reapply or extend the status”
No problem for the press
THE SUN page 11: “MADDIE;S BEDROOM.” This is the “FIRST PICTURE” of “Inside the McCann holiday flat”
For those readers unfamiliar with the contents of a “bedroom”, the Sun uses an arrow pointing towards a box-shaped presence and tells us: “Bed she was in before she went missing.” A second arrow points to a “Blanket”
Clarence Mitchell hears of the sighting in Bosnia. Says he:”We are not dismissing it. The witness was 99.9 per cent certain the child was not with her natural parents”
DAILY MAIL page 19: “First photo of Maddie flat as hunt switches to Bosnia”
“Its narrow beds have been stripped of their sheets so they can be analysed for evidence”
And in Bosnia, the “very swarthy” people are with Madeleine. Like the man in Belgian, perhaps…
DAILY STAR page 9: “BOMBSHELL BOOK POINTS FINGER AT MADDIE PARENTS”
Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia have written Maddie 129. the Star says the book claims some of the Tapas Seven “had already given up searching for Madeleine and were in their own flats 90 minutes after the alarm was raised because ‘they already knew where she was’”
An American artist has been employed by the Star to make Madeleine’s hair from blonde to dark. (Non-experts can use a felt tip or boot polish)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “MADELEINE DETECTIVES CHECK NEW SIGHTING AT BOSNIAN SHRINE”
Page 7: Says Clarence Mitchell: “But as with all these reports, the McCanns refuse to raise their hopes until it has been investigated fully”
NEW YORK TIMES: “European Tabloids Still Agog Months After Child Vanishes”
“Six months after Madeleine McCann, then 3 years old, disappeared from her family’s vacation apartment in Portugal, no development in the case seems too small to merit a banner headline — even the news that her father had returned to his job as a doctor. Similarly, no story is too speculative”
THE GUARDIAN, THE INDEPENDENT and THE TIMES: No Madeleine news

760 i am 22 years old and have buried two kids 8 months apart, dont even question it cos believe me id give anything (other than my equally as precious living children) for that not to be the case, but it is. And it is so hard and i struggle everyday to ‘front’ it for the sake of my other two, which is where i get pissed with the mcs cos they sint ‘fronting it’ they appear to be hiding something. and the similarities with bg are so that it raises questions, shitloads of them.
Even if they didnt kill her, and either some one else has ‘got her’ or done her in, all i can say i it is their fault they should never left her alone and they should thank their lucky stars that the other two are still here.
on the flip side compare the mcs in the early days to sara payne or that poor rhys lads mum. particularly sara p in the days when sarah was missing.

Hello again to all
i know i am a buggar and i know i have posted the same thing 3 times now…but i seem doomed ! the site seems to go bonkers on me everytime and i never get to see if i have a reply (although Thea tried to point me in right direction - thanks) Then yesterday , Steveo challenged my question (which is all good to me) but he left site soon after sooooo still no reply. I promise this will be my third and final go….. keep up the good work all of you, i have been a spectator for many months on a daily basis……
Ok…..Very early on in the case it was reported that an elastic band was found by the airport??? , i was beggening to thin i was going mad because the story came and went…..But then on Sat i noticed a posting from someone who was talking about this elastic band……..Kate has said that she took madeleines braid out of her hair that evening !!
The reason this interests me is because i also remember early on that one of the tapas 7 had to leave for uk the next day for personal reasons (he came back a few days later), cant remember the name but it was a “male” Dr ????????……why would a doctor have to leave his holiday just like that ????? (just a thought)…maybe he was the transporter of a body and the elstic band might just hold the clue…….maybe a long shot but if you lot tell me i have lost the plot……i will trust your judgement and get my coat… Thanks in advance

You will notice that accused persons ae often locked up until court trials. Do you think this reflects the principle of innocent until proven guilty?
************************
That’s only happening after a judge looked at the case gives his/her approval (at least as far as I know).

“……….. the PJ are simply convenient targets for people like Piers Merchant”.
Oh come on. This case was spearheaded by Amaral. He’s gone. And why I wonder? There are many ‘reported rumours’ as to why the PJ have failed. How on earth could they possibly do a ‘U’ turn now? Amaral started this witch hunt. He was an ‘arguido’ himself on another case of a missing child . He was found out by the media. So what did the head of the PJ do? They got rid of him…… conveniently.

Dear me - you arent very thorough.
So in response I cant be bothered to be thorough either!
1. Child neglect. Never mind if it makes them killers or not, it exposed their children (lets not forget it exposed not only the child who is no longer with them, but all three) to potential accidents or criminal acts. It is not acceptable behaviour from Doctors - remember Doctors are empowered to make judgements which can lead to children being taken from their parents, so the Doctors must be beyond reproach. Clearly these two are not. I do not accept ‘we must set it aside’ - why? Such behavioue indicates something of the character of these people and it also important to decide, would they have left the kids like this or is it a lesser evil being cliamed to divert from something else? You cannot ignore it.
2. The McCanns went jogigng the next day, yes, the NEXT DAY!!! When did they actually go searching? Did we see them hunting at all? Were they on the search parties formed by other Brits on holiday, or with the locals? No, they went jogging. They went to Rome WITHOUT the twins! Speaks volumes. Kate called her Mum and asked for the number of a priest…no someone to search - a priest. Does a priest have an acute sense of smell? Or are they people who have an interest in the passage from life? How many bodies did kate get in contact with, as a two daya week locum? SIX???!!!
Body language is an accepted scientific fact. Ever since Desmond Morris first brought it to the public domain it has been widely understood and acknowledged. Gerry is a bad liar, he reveals much whenever he lis and avoids answering some questions as he clearly is aware that his body language is very revealing. In the business world, it forms part of management training. People can hid their body language, though it sometimes reveals more when they try to.
3. Blood under the tiles under the sofa - true we dont know 100% if this is Madeleines, but if it is its hard evidence - unless you are suggesting ‘an abductor’ cleaned the place up well enough in the apparently brief periods available to him/her to remove all but blood which had found its way down gaps in tiles and under the sofa? If its not Maddies, why did the McCanns respond to a question ‘What might be the explanation’ by saying ‘We dont know if blood was found’ - my own natural response would be to answer the question and say ‘I have no explanation, I dont understand it and can only assume its not Maddies’.
4. We arent in a court of law. Innocent until proven guilty is a concept which is only intended to place the burden of proof on the prosecution.
You will notice that accused persons ae often locked up until court trials. Do you think this reflects the principle of innocent until proven guilty?

‘If we want to find the truth about what happened to MM, we must set the above aside.’
———————————–
No. You cannot ever set evidence aside if you are trying to establish the truth. The totality of evidence is what one uses to construct and test hypotheses. That’s why specialists in almost every subject argue with each other, and seek to resolve those arguments by seeking more evidence.

The absence of the word ‘LUDICROUS’ leaves me thinking you are just a numbnut who’s been brainwashed by the aforementioned

I’ve read why you are grieving and I feel sorry for you, but without wanting to offend you, why are you calling yourself so? There more people around here who have also good reasons to grieve, without continously telling the world. I think that’s overdone, sorry, and it doesn’t give you the right to attack people who don’t agree with you by calling them names.
Arguments please. Not calling eachother names. Completely unneccessary and very impolite.

Catholic church (the pope c.s. that is) don’t approve of IVF. On the other hand my husband always says “if God would have wanted us to walk he wouldn’t have allowed us to invent a car” (I admit he’s a bit lazy…) and in a variation to his words… well you can fill it in yourself.

greiving mum. I asked a straight question that warrants a straight reply.
but for you to think some more; how many bodies of dead children are found all over the world. ? Do you know ? No nor do I. So thats being the case find out how many dead bodies that are found. It will be more than 1, i suspect more than 2, 3 , 4 and the list goes on. So is it your suggestion that the parents visit each and evryone of these findings or is it better to juts let the DNA results provide the appropriate anaswer.
No doubt the USA Police have carried out DNA tests. They will have a chance to match that to the DNA creditted to Madeleine Mccann. Striks me its a 50/50. Either she is or she isn’t.
But like matt you failed to read my post. I did not ask stevo to prove BG is MM. I asked an entirely different question.

Hope this is not offending anyone, like mods & admin, but I don’t think most viewers have the video plug-ins and so here is my transcription of the Portuguese Documentary, “Madeleine McCann, Anatomy of a Mystery.” From Part I:
…“On August the first, the police returned to the apartment from which Madeleine disappeared. The two British dogs reacted simultaneously to a floor tile - under the living room sofa - where the McCann’s spent their holidays. Then for the first time, the police removed the tiles and forensic experts have collected a small sample of what seemed to be blood - something that had drained down through the edge of the tile. The findings were sent to the Birmingham laboratory. A month later the Birmingham laboratory sent the first results of the forensics tests. In 24 hours, Kate and Gerry were summonsed by the police. ” (Then follows Philomena who states that the police offered Kate a deal to confess to an accident.. That is followed by the first spokesperson who says “…ludicrous suggestion that blood was found in the hire car”…). The narrator continues, “33 hours later, Kate and Gerry boarded an Easy Jet plane without going through the checking procedures.”
So for McCann supporters, why do you choose to ignore the DNA find that was taken from underneath the floor tile, which was found underneath(!) the sofa in the family’s holiday apartment? Why don’t you go and ask your friends the McCann’s how that DNA got there and let us know. I’m sure their relatives, friends, fellow church members, co-workers, teachers and neighbors would also like to know, along with the PJ, of course, who are not going to close the case until it’s resolved.

Goodnight everyone.
My last comments today:-
1). The case is in Portugal and not the UK, and I believe the PJ will solve the case. The British police do not even come into the equation.
2). Even if there has been an attempted cover up by the UK goverment, we must not forget that the McCanns are IMO at the centre of things. The goverment IMO have not abducted Madeleine but are engaged in damage limitation for reasons that are not yet known..
3). Clarence just loves us all fighting amongst ourselves on here, we are playing into his hands. Divide and rule! We all want justice and an end to this sorry episode.
4). Pitty is a Gypsy whore.

I think Gerry was speculating with hindsight. I know exactly how he feels too.
“Yesterday a friend of the family claimed that having thought back over the events of May 3, Mr McCann recalls noticing that Madeleine’s bedroom door was open when he went to check on her.
He thinks that the door was left open because the intruder did not have time to shut it when he heard Mr McCann approaching.
Gerry McCann believes Madeleine’s abductor hid inside while he checked on the children
According to the friend, the intruder would have hidden himself somewhere else in the flat - possibly the bathroom or the master bedroom -whilst Mr McCann checked on his children.
As soon as he left, the kidnapper struck.”

Will people please lighten up! When someone is wrong about something, where they speculate that something is the case but it turns out not to be, they are not liars. Being wrong about something does not make you a LIAR.

750,
Why have the mcs not been over to the us to make sure bg is not their daughter. If somebodies child was missing then any speculated ‘find’ or ’sighting’ would mean getting your backside into a plane, train or automobile and making sure for yrselves whether it is or is not your precious child. they r doctors they can hndle bodies and they were quite happy to jaunt around europe why not hop ona plane and go see? If they didnt kill her her ‘kidnapper’ may have and bg could b her and therefore wouldnt you call cops and ask to see her. The us cops seem desperate to place her and probably wouldnt object to this epecially them being docs. Also why the media silence over bg. US papers have had maddies mug grace many a front page, why not for bg?????? Is trying to find the identity of a deceased child found in a box not as newsworthy a trying to find mads?
and in replie to what 750 wrote, the box may not have been thrown, could have as easily been carried off n dumped.

Oh, it has indeed. Sadly the McCanns seem incapable of grasping that it is Madeleine’s plight that matters…
+++++++++++++++++
Oh really? Try telling that to the PJ! And anyway, have you or I forgotten about Madeleine? Of course not. Well unless of course, your obsessed with trying to prove the McCanns guilty of manslaughter or murder.
——————————————————
I don’t think the PJ need reminding what it’s all about; the criticism directed at them seems to be based on an unquestioning belief that Madeleine was abducted by some dark-skinned lurker whose sole interest in life was selling little blonde girls to equally dark-skinned filthy rich Arab paedophiles.
Anyone who questioned the likelihood of that scenario was abused up hill and down dale; the PJ are simply convenient targets for people like Piers Merchant. You might care to bear in mind that Piers Merchant was 46 years old when he had to leave Parliament because of his affair with a 17 year old girl. He is not in a very good position to talk about sexual abuse…
And I really have no idea what happened that night beyond what we have been told; the only certainty I have is that I have absolutely no insight into the mindset of people who have behaved as the McCanns have.
Back in the days when judges were almost obliged to use Latin tags, distinctions were drawn between conditio sine qua non, and causa causans. The kindest thing that one can say about the McCanns was that their behaviour was the conditio sine qua non of Madeleine’s disappearance. It is up to the Courts to decide whether their behaviour was also the causa causans of her disappearance.
