Madeleine McCann: A Bedroom, A bed And A Blanket
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “FIRST PIC OF SNATCH SCENE – INSIDE MADDY’S BEDROOM”
A picture of the holiday bedroom from where Madeleine McCann vanished. Useful. Perhaps seeing it will jog your memory…
The Mirror highlights three areas of the room:
DOOR: “LAST LOOK. Dad Gerry last saw his daughter form this door”
BED: “HER BED - “Rumpled covers and pillow on mattress”
WALLS: “UNTOUCHED – Room is as it was after police forensic team finished work”
We commend to your attention the shards of sardine roll, cigarette ash dropping and big footprints
The picture is an “EXCLUSIVE”
MADDY COPS WANTS McCANNS SILENCED” – A plan to do harm to Kate and Gerry McCann?
Almost as bad: “Portuguese police may gag Madeleine McCann’s parents by keeping them suspects for the next 15 years.” So too Robert Murat. This one has along way to run
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – THE HUNT SWITCHES TO BOSNIA AFTER NEW SIGHTING”
Page 9: “Tourist spotted Madeleine – I heard her yell: ‘I want my daddy’”
The Express hears news from Medugorje, Bosnia, the site of a Catholic shrine. As reported on Anorak, the man sees a girl who looks like Madeleine. He reports it to local police. Police shrug. He tells the McCanns’ private detective firm. They check the expense account. They respond
The “father of six”, from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, who asked not to be named, says: “From the minute I saw them, there seemed to be something odd going on. They both had a very swarthy complexion and the toddler with them was a blonde, fair child.” Dark, you say?
“She was wearing a little pink coat and was very agitated and sobbing. The instant I saw her my heart skipped a beat because it struck me that she looked like Madeleine McCann. I felt sure there was something wrong and started to move towards them. As they saw me coming, they started walking faster away from me. I was sure the child they had was not theirs. I got right up beside them, and was about to speak to the child when the man put his hand over her mouth and shoved her into the car. He was pushing her into the back seat and was yelling in a language I didn’t understand.”
“First look at bedroom” – Unless you have already seen the Mirror that is
“New nightmare as McCanns could be suspects for 15 years” – Says Francisco Pagarete, Robert Murat’s lawyer: “The problem is that in Portugal a suspect can remain an arguido for 15 years without any need for police to reapply or extend the status”
No problem for the press
THE SUN page 11: “MADDIE;S BEDROOM.” This is the “FIRST PICTURE” of “Inside the McCann holiday flat”
For those readers unfamiliar with the contents of a “bedroom”, the Sun uses an arrow pointing towards a box-shaped presence and tells us: “Bed she was in before she went missing.” A second arrow points to a “Blanket”
Clarence Mitchell hears of the sighting in Bosnia. Says he:”We are not dismissing it. The witness was 99.9 per cent certain the child was not with her natural parents”
DAILY MAIL page 19: “First photo of Maddie flat as hunt switches to Bosnia”
“Its narrow beds have been stripped of their sheets so they can be analysed for evidence”
And in Bosnia, the “very swarthy” people are with Madeleine. Like the man in Belgian, perhaps…
DAILY STAR page 9: “BOMBSHELL BOOK POINTS FINGER AT MADDIE PARENTS”
Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia have written Maddie 129. the Star says the book claims some of the Tapas Seven “had already given up searching for Madeleine and were in their own flats 90 minutes after the alarm was raised because ‘they already knew where she was’”
An American artist has been employed by the Star to make Madeleine’s hair from blonde to dark. (Non-experts can use a felt tip or boot polish)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “MADELEINE DETECTIVES CHECK NEW SIGHTING AT BOSNIAN SHRINE”
Page 7: Says Clarence Mitchell: “But as with all these reports, the McCanns refuse to raise their hopes until it has been investigated fully”
NEW YORK TIMES: “European Tabloids Still Agog Months After Child Vanishes”
“Six months after Madeleine McCann, then 3 years old, disappeared from her family’s vacation apartment in Portugal, no development in the case seems too small to merit a banner headline — even the news that her father had returned to his job as a doctor. Similarly, no story is too speculative”
THE GUARDIAN, THE INDEPENDENT and THE TIMES: No Madeleine news

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/25014/Big-hunt-in-Bosnia-delayed
VITAL hours were lost in the hunt for Madeleine last night when bureaucratic Bosnian police refused to follow up a possible sighting in the country, claiming it had not been reported properly.

Is this case a case of situation gone wrong. Are these people family pedophiles, and have friends in high places. Maybe all was going well for them, then Maddy died. They had to have an explanation of course as she wouldn’t be turning up to kindergarten. Why not make a bit while at the charade. Just because they are medical people means nothing at all. They could have protection from “friends”. Nothing would surprise anyone re this situation. All very mysterious indeed. Just a thought.

That hoax sighting in Bosnia really ticks me off. I know false sightings are always a by-product of a case like this but it’s the lack of comment from the McCann team towards the Baby Grace case that makes me so annoyed.
On the one hand there’s an Irishman in Bosnia making hoax phone calls and on the other hand there’s a POLICE DEPT. in the USA who have grown men crying on film over the finding of a girl the exact same description as Madeleine. The McCanns can’t even come out and support the obvious grieving parents of Baby Grace.
Why?

And I forgot to answer your first question. NO - I won’t be taking the link to that page down if Madeleine is not BG. In that instance, it will be a good instance of how people can be duped or believe the evidence in a wrong way…so it’s still an interesting story. Your suggestion is to suppress news because it was wrong. Should we destroy all the books about Germany in the 30s?

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/20934/MADDIE-SIGHTING-WAS-CRUEL-HOAX-/
Regional police spokesman Mario Bosnjak said: “Every single policeman has denied receiving any kind of a report regarding the missing girl.
“And no-one from the British or Portuguese authorities has contacted us regarding the case.”
A police source said: “It is a mystery within a mystery.
“The first place for anyone who sees Madeleine to go is to the police, yet we have not heard from this man who says he saw her.
November 12th, 2007 at 11:10 pm
The Daily Star is apparently running a story claiming that the Bosnia sighting was a ‘cruel hoax’.
‘ police source said: “It is a mystery within a mystery.
“The first place for anyone who sees Madeleine to go is to the police, yet we have not heard from this man who says he saw her.
“He is a religious man. Maybe it was a vision.”
Vision or otherwise, I’ll say goodnight to you all:-)

I think yesterday you asked me about piloting and programming? I wasn’t online but read it this morning. I’ve had my fingers in all kinds of pies to be honest. Experience is one of the best assets anyone can have…

You don’t ever need to carry me aloft or cheer or do anything like that. I made the site because I want answers to why Madeleine McCann is no longer around. Hopefully she’s still alive and well and will appear and all our sleuthing was evidence of how we all feel as caring parents when a child goes missing. It isn’t about personal glory…not for me anyway.
If BG isn’t Madeleine, so what? I’ve never said it was so anyone who thinks they can rub my nose in it is wasting their time. If BG and M aren’t the same person then that means there’s two cases instead of one and two sets of police have their work cut out.
At least I’m actually doing SOMETHING instead of nothing and I don’t have a million pound budget either. The McCanns could at least show some humanity towards Baby Grace and respect that whoever she is, she had parents and is now dead after a few short years.
If the news shows they aren’t the same person, sure…that will be news I’ll publish. But I’ll do that for the benefit of readers who are reading about both cases - it certainly won’t be news specifically to satisfy your beliefs.

Yes , I agree. I’ve been on this forum for several weeks now and have a 17 year old son with a brain tumour, not something I’ve mentioned before because like you say not relevant to the discussion. I’m sure many of us here have suffered tradgedies or are trying to deal/cope with personal stuff , but it should be kept personal not something we keep reminding everyone of.

‘Thats the trouble with interpretation - dont you think?’
————————————
There’s always a problem; in the end we have to remind ourselves that seeking evidence is the only safeguard we have against the temptation to interpret in one direction or another.
And most people without any investigative experience fail to realise that interpretation is easy; it’s getting the facts which is hard…

Sorry about my emotional reply. I too think if the abduction theory is right that they should never have left those kids alone. They’re so precious. Some people don’t deserve to have kids. Having said that, I also want to say that if they’ve got anything to do with the disappearance of MM they really should be punished. And in fact the whole group for their unresponsible behaviour and for covering up.

Bail can be denied to a suspect in on indictable offence where the sentence is likely to be 5 years or more, and/or their is a likelyhood that the accused will interfere with witnesses/evidence, or not answer bail regardless of the likely sentence.
The innocence until proven guilty merely means the accused can retain his/her own clothing in a remand prison, and have privalages such as beer or wine (it was the last time i was remanded int he 80’s anyway!) and you may purchase from your own monies luxuries such as sugar, soap, batteries for a radio etc
Let’s not get it twisted Justice fans!

totje,
im going now, i hope that u understand totje that i use the name grievingmum as i am so consumed by grief that it best describes me, however i would like to add i hope you never suffer the deverstation of losing even one of your kid let alone a double tragedy seperated by a few months, as someone who has lost a parent and an ex boyfriend and i can only say that those losses were drops in the ocean compared to what ive been through and the only way u’ll ever understand that is to go through it your self. if maddie is proved dead then k and g will understand. i get the impression they already know she is and cant grieve which wld explain some of their behaviour
*********************************
This is exactly what I mean. I can understand you’re grieving, but you have to tell it constantly. Do you want me to tell you how many miscarriages I’ve got, how many baby’s I’ve lost, how many baby’s HAD to be aborted because they grew in my tubes? That’s got nothing to do with the discussion!!! Sorry if I sound offensive, but you’ve asked for it.

Tinsel -Thanks for clearing that “silly” notion of mine. The E word in officially dropped and i bid you good people farewell and i will enjoy continuing reading your posts…better than any TV programme. And one thing i do know…although there are many many different views on here , the one thing that shines out is that when all is said and done is that everyone is hoping and praying for some kind of justice for Maddie ! Night all x

I was just reading today that they’ve done an analysis on two hairs found in the bag and they are unreleated to Madeleine. Still waiting for more info.
