Madeleine McCann: Tea With Sympathy, Bosnia And ‘A Sinister Higher Force’
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS page 7: “Little Bosnian girl they thought was Madeleine”
They? It was one man from Ireland, on a visit to a Catholic shrine in Bosnia, who saw Madeleine in a car crying for her daddy
A police spokesman says: “The car and occupants were just as described by the Irish pilgrim, except the little girl was not Madeleine McCann.”
But she was crying for her daddy. Not her mummy. Sure it’s not Madeleine?
Police go on: “The owner confirmed the car we lent to his son, who was with his daughter, who is very much like Madeleine”
Says Alan Dedic of his daughter Tea (blonde): “My daughter Tea was a bit out of control and I had to push her into the car… I wouldn’t dream I would create such a fuss”
“McCanns: New police snub” – The Portuguese public prosecutor will not let the McCanns see the files on them. Senior judges pay heed to the “special complexity” of this case. Robert Murat is not allowed to see his police files either
Says Clarence Mitchell: “All they have seen is so-called evidence that has been leaked to the Portuguese press and they don’t know what, if any, of that is true”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE – TRAGIC NEW THEORY”
Come, come. Don’t worry about how it is received. Tragic or magic, let’s have it…
A solicitor, London-based and reportedly working for one of the McCanns’ “holiday pals”, tells El Mundo newspaper, Spain: “I’m afraid these interventions have been prejudicial not only to my client, but also for determining the truth”
The Star says Gerry McCann is a “key Government medical advisor”. The Star’s theory is that “a sinister higher force” has stopped the truth from coming out
“Alert was sparked by ‘hyper’ lookaliake” – “It’s “hyerpactive lookalike” Tea Dedic
THE SUN page 7: “Balkans girl is not Maddie”
Says Mr Dedic of Tea: “She is hyperactive and I had to push her into the car” – Do social services know?
DAILY MIRROR page 9: “Despair at Maddy file secret”
Kate McCann is in “despair”. She cannot see the police files on her. “It has dashed their hopes,” says Clarence Mitchell. And the little girl on Bosnia? Not Madeleine…
DAILY MAIL page 49: “Yet another little girl who turned out not to be Maddie”
How many more? Can there be any more?
Slavko Dedic, Tea’s father – not be confused with the Express’ Alan Dedic – says his daughter was throwing a tantrum. And that his daughter cannot speak English
And for finding Tea we have the Daily Mail to thank. Says a police source: “After being given the car registration plate by the Daily Mail, Bosnian police went within the hour to an address in Ljubuski – and found the VW Golf”
But not Madeleine…
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 17: “Girl in Bosnia is no Madeleine”
“Strikingly similar,” says the caption beneath a shot of Tea Dedic, who is blonde and aged four
THE INDEPEDNT, THE GUARDIAN and THE TIMES: “No Madeleine news today

Doesn’t the wording of the fund say that the money can benefit the McCann family? How far can they make ‘family’ stretch? Brothers? Uncles? How far can it stretch?

“My friend is from Switzerland but she has told me it’s too expensive?”
We haven’t found it too bad when we have been their on holiday, but then where we are is expensive also.
“My husband doesn’t want to live in the UK.”
I can understand that.
“Australia and New Zealand I’ve voted for but he put the kabosh on those. Although he wants to visit. Maybe he will change his mind after a holiday down under.”
We are off to Oz in two weeks
“I still use my parents Minolta 35mm camera from 1980! Yeah film! Remember that?! :)”
I also still use my Olympus 35mm film camera. Mostly with slide film.
If it’s not too personal may I ask: Do you live in Ireland?
Yes.

92 Tony Bennett Says:
Edit…
The father of Madeleine told CBS that he and his wife “will always live with the fact that Kate and I were not in the apartment when it happened.”
***A source from Polícia Judiciária told that they have no information about the existence of a video shot after Madeleine disappeared***.
Edit….
+++++++++++++++++++
Maybe just my naturally suspicious mind, but is that an extraordinary telling quote from Gerry?
• “….. Kate and I were not in the apartment when **it** happened.”
I wonder what the **it** is that he refers to? Covers a multitude of ‘possibilities’ does that statement?
I can’t help but wonder if the **it** is/are the event(s) that they are allegedly so desperate to cover up?
And why would it surprise pretty much no one, aside from the usual arguidos, that the PJ have no information about this video being shot?

Thank you re that.
In the Uk….Glasgow area it seems that £80,000 + is possible
if in a very Senior Position within a Company.
Would depend on his actual rank….if just a Sales Rep…possibly more like
£30,000 -£40,000 pa.

GERRY MCCAN IS GOING PLACES
70
Tony Bennett Says:
Here is a list of some things known about Gerry McCann’s career to date:
“1. Thought to be a key government advisor to the nuclear industry, specifially to an organisation called COMARE in which Gordon Brown’s brother Andrew Brown has a key role, I think in media relations”
Does this position have a specific title and responsibilities? Is it a do-nothing political plum type of position?
“2. A consultant cardiologist, who has published many articles in cardiology journals (I have the references somewhere on file)”
Same question: Does this position have a specific title and responsibilities? Below is (from Google) an example of a job description for a particular consultant cardiologist position.
JOB DESCRIPTION. CONSULTANT CARDIOLOGIST WITH SPECIAL INTEREST IN PERCUTANEOUS CORONARY INTERVENTION. SOUTH TEES HOSPITALS N.H.S. TRUST. THE JAMES COOK UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL. MIDDLESBROUGH. This Consultant Cardiologist appointment, …
http://www.southtees.nhs.uk/UserFiles/File/ChiefExecutive’sOffice/TrustBoardPapers/2006-07/May%202006/051301.doc
“3. Said to be ‘an international sub-clinical specialist in cardiac imaging’”
Does this have a bearing on his apparent interest in touching up photographs (eg. Stig mentioned that photos of Madeleine without the coloboma were probably touched up; Stevo has shown that the “last photo” could possibly have been touched up)
“4. Has been a club doctor for Celtic Football Club (club with strong Roman Catholic/Irish influence)”
Just curious, is this club related to Beckham in some way (the guy they got to seemingly support the McCanns early on in the “abduction”)
“5. Thought to have been active in the Labour Party and was rumoured to have been lined up as a prospective Labour MP ”
I had read somewhere that his father was a figure in the Labour Party but I never confirmed it.
“6. Appears to have ‘friends’ in high places, especially in media and public relations, and in *all* political parties. ”
What evidence is there that he has friends in ALL political parties? (not just Labour Party). I’m thinking maybe he is unassailable, and I had better start backing off with my suspicions. After all, it could very well be that he is not a pedophile who was using experimental sedatives on his children to keep them in a stupour. And quite conceivably he is not guilty of child neglect after all, for he may have been lying about that as well.

The ‘faulty’ Madeleine theory is what I believe. Although, I prefer to think that it’s an accident cover up, my gut feeling is that 2’s company to the McCanns, with regard to their mini me’s.

Majority of Brits thinks the McCanns have done nothing wrong. SAD BUT TRUE.
——————————————————————-
I’m not sure that is correct. If you glance at reader comments in the papers which have been staunch in their support for K&G you will see that the pattern of comments has changed very substantially.
It used to be all dewy eyed sympathy; nowadays there are quite a number of people expressing total disbelief in anything which emerges from the McCanns’ mouths…
November 15th, 2007 at 2:04 pm
thinking outloud again……on the one hand the mccanns want us to see them as normal run of the mill ,middle to upper class familt,gp,doctor, but on the other hand they seem to have so many connections that can be reached extremly quickly, the 11pm phone call from the english ambasador on the night of the 3rd ,to head of the police saying this must be treated as an abduction, really rings lots of alarm bells for me……that was on a paublo site i think

140 Thea,
Sorry you are so full of spleen today. However, let me point out one teeny bit of misinformation you seem to have: there is no national death penalty in the U.S.

194 Tony Bennett Says:
Tony - I could look it up, but it was more of a hypothetical question about private prosecutions.
I guess the prosecution you’re considering doesn’t require formal consent from ‘the authorities’ - but if GM’s claim to have been assured by ‘the authorities’ that he would not be prosecuted in the UK is correct (and it would be a strange claim to make without foundation), then do you stand much chance of persuading a magistrate to allow the prosecution?
November 15th, 2007 at 1:55 pm
Matt 199,
It is my understanding at this time none of the fund directors receive a salary. However, the fund guidelines stipulate that they can be at a future date.
Also, perhaps it is different in the UK but here in the states, pharm reps make well over $100,000/year after just a couple of years in that position. They make a lot more over time.
November 15th, 2007 at 1:55 pm
Tinsel 202 - I looked back at the transcript of that Larry King programme on CNN and that was very, very, very, one-sided.
They had Philomena McCann on the telephone attacking portuguese police, they had friends of the McCanns, they had the whole lot propaganda warriors suggesting that Gerry & Kate were being framed by the Portuguese.
Let me tell you that if that programme, the CBS programmes are anything to go by, the McCanns will have the same treatment in US that they have in Britain.
And if that’s the case, the Americans will buy it. As the brits do. Majority of Brits thinks the McCanns have done nothing wrong. SAD BUT TRUE.

From another forum:
‘My local newspaper is the Loughborough Echo, based 6 miles from Rothley, and the front page today carries a story saying that former solicitor Anthony Bennett will today send a letter to Loughborough Magistrates court regarding a private prosecution against the McCanns for leaving the 3 children alone in the apartment in Portugal.
Anthony Bennett was the person behind the Private Prosecution of Michael Barrymore, but that was thrown out. ‘
November 15th, 2007 at 1:53 pm
77 Tony Bennett Says:
Edit…
Other experts take a more flexible view. “It’s the context that is important,” said Professor Carolyn Hamilton, who runs the Children’s Legal Centre, a charity concerned with law and policy. “This couple had…clearly made a responsible assessment of the risks and decided that they were minimal. They could not have predicted the possibility of abduction.”
++++++++++++++++++++++
I know you’re only quoting the Times article Tony, so not having a go at you at all..
That last paragraph is absolute bollox!
Let’s assume for the moment that the McCann’s are completely innocent of any involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance. Let’s assume they really are nice caring parents and wonderful human beings. STOP giggling at the back!
Can anyone tell me that ANY reasonable parent would seriously discuss the possibility of ‘abduction’ as one of the possible outcomes if they left their children unattended?
No matter how many times people repeat rubbish like this it will not make leaving young children on their own acceptable. Every time someone repeats this sort of nonsense it just hacks off parents, and others who care for/about children, that the McCanns’, their supporters and apologist can conceive of any circumstances in which it might be acceptable to leave young children alone.

November 15th, 2007 at 1:50 pm
Well … if the pattern means anything … in the past few months the papers claim the same in pretty much the same order: grinding to halt, police hitting a wall, questions not allowed to ask, evidence not to be revealed … and then they drop another bombshell clue.
At least that’s what happened the last 2-3 times. So we shall see.
About the McCs coming to the US. They’ve seem to be on the run since May 3, not really looking for M so much as trying to stay away from prying eyes. If they think the US is going to treat them differently, they are wrong. Opinion here is pretty much the same as UK and Portugal. 70-80% think they had something to do with disappearance.

Not a problem Stig I had been offline due to internet difficulties so I missed it.
My friend is from Switzerland but she has told me it’s too expensive?
My husband doesn’t want to live in the UK.
Italy has been discussed and Spain too.
Australia and New Zealand I’ve voted for but he put the kabosh on those. Although he wants to visit. Maybe he will change his mind after a holiday down under.
I’ve thought about Scandanavia but my husband believe it will be too cold. He’s fond of Med countries.
Oh I love my mp3 player - it’s just not an IPod and is several years old. I agree it’s great in t he car (we always take with when hiring a car).
I still use my parents Minolta 35mm camera from 1980! Yeah film! Remember that?!

November 15th, 2007 at 1:46 pm
i think all this no new news is a good thing…….if i was the new head policeman and had read all the evidence infront of me and decided they was nothing to implicate the mccanns ,and i knew it was in everyones favor, portugals ,englands,i would clear them as soon as possible,if on the other hand ,i had read the evidence and realised they are the prime suspects ,but i need to make sure everything is water tight,i would quietly go about my work…………..

To follow up on the Guardian’s article regarding Team McCann
provided by Thea in her 151 Post. with special reference to
John McCann….
John McCann, 48
“”"”One of seven directors of the Find Madeleine Fund, Gerry McCann’s brother has taken indefinite leave of absence from his job as a medical rep for the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca in order to administrate the £1m fund from his Glasgow sitting room.”"”"
Presuming that JM is still carrying out his administrative duties in relation to
the No Stone Unturned Fund and is still on indefinate LOA from his duties as a
Pharmaceutical Rep. :
Is John being paid a renumeration for his present duties as Administrator of the Fund?
A Pharm Rep wouldn’t be earning a colossal wage I’d imagine. A good wage perhaps.
But could his previous income and possible savings support him for such a period of
time since he “took LOA” ?
If he is being paid renumeration from the Fund, how much would he be earning ?
And as there are 6 other Dorectors…in this Private Company…are they receiving
renumerations from the Company too ?
If so….how much would they be claiming or receiving.?
I know Justine McGuinness was reported to have claimed over £50,000
from the Fund for her wages, overtime and expenses.
Are these other Directors receiving Pro-Rata renumerations?
Can you please enlighten us Ester…..being as you have stated
that the running of the “Company” will be fully transparant. ?

I don’t think Mr. Santana means a “nuclear family”. In fact, he means the opposite: “extended family”. I believe that Portuguese is like Spanish and would talk about the “núcleo familiar”, which would literally translate as “family nucleus”. As he says, he means that they all live together.
November 15th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
Well, many of us in the UK are appalled at the idea of leaving three little kids alone, this isnt just about risk of abduction (as the Mccanns harp on about) this is about the very idea of three little kids left alone in a room together!
Nearby? Im so sick of hearing how nearby they were, it was too bloody far away! It might as well have been the other side of the town for all the difference it would make. They couldnt see the entrances! What about fire, smoke inhalation? Thyey should not have left these kids like that and they will not even admit that!
No wonder people are suspicious of them.
They look like they are only out to make careers and make big bucks - maybe they thought Maddie was ‘faulty’ and worth sacrificing for the gains they could make?
November 15th, 2007 at 1:35 pm

123/124…are you saying you would sooner leave 3 children under the age of 4 alone than leave them with a babysitter because you dont trust the babysitters childcare skills? lol the Mc’s left their kids in the creche all day long with the child carers at the resort…why did they trust them during the day but not at night? there is absolutely no excuse for leaving children that age alone..its a total disgrace…and incase anybody wants to defend leaving children alone..my reply is simple…you too are a disgrace..
anybody who leaves their children simply doesnt deserve to have them..

187 Murder says (November 15th, 2007 at 1:22 pm)
“Tony, I’m not a lawyer, but GM is on record as saying that he took legal advice over the question of neglect charges in the UK, and has been assured by ‘the UK authorities’ that there is no question of charges being brought. If the CPS has ruled out charging the McCanns…”
REPLY: We don’t know for sure whether Leicestershire Police did submit a file of evidence to the PJ, nor what the Leicestershire CPS decision was, if they did.
Did they for example decide that there was ‘not enough evidence’ of child neglect?
Or that the prosecution ‘would not be in the public interest’?
Is it ‘legal’ to leave kids on their own all evening while you go out eating and drinking?
Was Clarence Mitchell right to say that leaving young kids on their own while you go out is ‘a British thing’ (quote)?
