Madeleine McCann: Tea With Sympathy, Bosnia And ‘A Sinister Higher Force’
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS page 7: “Little Bosnian girl they thought was Madeleine”
They? It was one man from Ireland, on a visit to a Catholic shrine in Bosnia, who saw Madeleine in a car crying for her daddy
A police spokesman says: “The car and occupants were just as described by the Irish pilgrim, except the little girl was not Madeleine McCann.”
But she was crying for her daddy. Not her mummy. Sure it’s not Madeleine?
Police go on: “The owner confirmed the car we lent to his son, who was with his daughter, who is very much like Madeleine”
Says Alan Dedic of his daughter Tea (blonde): “My daughter Tea was a bit out of control and I had to push her into the car… I wouldn’t dream I would create such a fuss”
“McCanns: New police snub” – The Portuguese public prosecutor will not let the McCanns see the files on them. Senior judges pay heed to the “special complexity” of this case. Robert Murat is not allowed to see his police files either
Says Clarence Mitchell: “All they have seen is so-called evidence that has been leaked to the Portuguese press and they don’t know what, if any, of that is true”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE – TRAGIC NEW THEORY”
Come, come. Don’t worry about how it is received. Tragic or magic, let’s have it…
A solicitor, London-based and reportedly working for one of the McCanns’ “holiday pals”, tells El Mundo newspaper, Spain: “I’m afraid these interventions have been prejudicial not only to my client, but also for determining the truth”
The Star says Gerry McCann is a “key Government medical advisor”. The Star’s theory is that “a sinister higher force” has stopped the truth from coming out
“Alert was sparked by ‘hyper’ lookaliake” – “It’s “hyerpactive lookalike” Tea Dedic
THE SUN page 7: “Balkans girl is not Maddie”
Says Mr Dedic of Tea: “She is hyperactive and I had to push her into the car” – Do social services know?
DAILY MIRROR page 9: “Despair at Maddy file secret”
Kate McCann is in “despair”. She cannot see the police files on her. “It has dashed their hopes,” says Clarence Mitchell. And the little girl on Bosnia? Not Madeleine…
DAILY MAIL page 49: “Yet another little girl who turned out not to be Maddie”
How many more? Can there be any more?
Slavko Dedic, Tea’s father – not be confused with the Express’ Alan Dedic – says his daughter was throwing a tantrum. And that his daughter cannot speak English
And for finding Tea we have the Daily Mail to thank. Says a police source: “After being given the car registration plate by the Daily Mail, Bosnian police went within the hour to an address in Ljubuski – and found the VW Golf”
But not Madeleine…
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 17: “Girl in Bosnia is no Madeleine”
“Strikingly similar,” says the caption beneath a shot of Tea Dedic, who is blonde and aged four
THE INDEPEDNT, THE GUARDIAN and THE TIMES: “No Madeleine news today

Peter O. My previous career was Social Services +children…..
When they went round to the McCanns when they came back from Portugal that would have been a normal procedural visit to ensure that arrangements were in place in the event of both the McCanns being arrested and sent back to Portugal.
Same as they would with someone on bail here….
I would guess that there is a potential guardianship order ready to go that will place the twins with family members. probably grandparents but could be siblings IF the McCanns are arrested.
However, everything is confidential so no-one would ever know anything. No open records ever.
I never said that it was okay to leave the children… just that it’s an issue for Portugal. Jeez, can you imagine the furore in Portugal if we ‘took the case over’? The backlash would be huge….. their law says (as you said technically) that there is no problem as the parents were on the property and we tell them they’re wrong?? eeek.

I still find this story has marvelous comparrisons to the mc cann case
“Soon afterwards the old goat came home again from the
forest. Ah. What a sight she saw there. The house-door stood wide
open. The table, chairs, and benches were thrown down, the
washing-bowl lay broken to pieces, and the quilts and pillows were
pulled off the bed. She sought her children, but they were nowhere
to be found. She called them one after another by name, but no one
answered. At last, when she came to the youngest, a soft voice
cried, dear mother, I am in the clock-case. She took the kid out,
and it told her that the wolf had come and had eaten all the others.
Then you may imagine how she wept over her poor children.”
The last line makes me laugh

No, you wouldn’t. And we Anorakers discussed this in the very early days. We’ve moved on.
But according to Gerry and kate McCann, you–the evil abductor (for whom there is no evidence of whatsoever)–would have been carefully watching the McCanns for days, plotting the best moment to do your dastardly deed.
All I can conclude is that if G&M are right, then logically, you’d know they were drugging their kids, and you would be fearless and unworried about waking them when you entered through the door they intentionally left unlocked for you.

Good to hear Will!
Yeah I agree. When I compared nutritional info comparing Guinness to a few of the most popular sports drinks Guinness had far fewer carbs and calories than the “official” sports beverages. So I did what I normally do and ignored popular vote and grabbed a nice cold G.

Fellow anoraks
I still think that more people than we think know what happened, but only a few have the key to this mistery (there is a difference between having the knowledge and having the power to unveil the mistery).
The Tapas 9 are the only ones with the power to unveil what happened to MAdeleine McCann on the 3rd of May. If we presume that the parents are those with more to lose from the unveiling of the truth, the Tapas 7 seem to be our best option.
From the Tapas 7, 5 have more or less kept quiet and removed from the circus. Two however are in a delicate position - they are Jane Tanner and Russel O’BRien - or as I call them “the Weakest Links”. Both of them have denounced Murat (questionnable statement), and both of them have lied. Let’s look into these two characters in more detail:
O’Brien allegedly lied in going to the room to look after his daughter and asking for clean sheets. If this is confirmed it’s a very basic mistake - and it’s hard to explain why someone would make this statement to police if he had not indeed asked for the sheets and was covering up a crime. Would have been easier to just say “my daughter was ill so I went to the bedroom”. Equally impossible not to have asked for sheets if his daughter was indeed sick.
My guess is - O’Brien asked for the sheets. Not because his daughter was sick, but because in order to dispose of Madeleine’s body and clean up some of the blood remains in the apartment, the McCanns used their sheets. Therefore they needed a new set - and that’s what O’Brien provided.
Tanner’s story however is much more interesting. She has seen a possible abductor carrying a child in a place and at a time where Gerry and Wilkins were chatting (none of which confirmed that they saw Tanner or the abductor). Again one could ask - if this was a cover-up this would have been a very basic mistake to make. Not quite. You have to consider that they have agreed their stories and what to do in the course of the afternoon, and everything was going according to plan. Except that 1 unpredicted fact got on the way. The accidental meeting between gerry (coming back from the apartment) and Wilkins meant that they stayed there chatting (instead of as planned Gerry coming back to the apartment). Tanner may not have been aware of this and carried on as had been planned reporting the sighting of an abductor - that had to be denied by Gerry and Wilkins.
Tanner - will give the “click” on this investigation that the head of the PJ mentioned some weeks ago. As soon as they are allowed to re-interview them they will be turned into official suspects… and then the game begins, and the cracks will surface.
You read it here first.

Hey Will,
Hope mother cat and kitties are happy!
OT: I caught your beer comment late the other day. About beer being better at replenishing the body than water. I totally believe it. I am not a beer or ale drinker but in the summer when I run I often craved a Guinness. I would sometimes have one as I prefer the medicinal qualities of Guinness much more than the sugary sports drinks which are very popular in the States.

I don’t believe that to be correct? Social Services have a duty of care/legal responsibility to the children. I believe it was suggested that SS had been in touch with the McCann’s shortly after their return to the UK? The issue that many seem to have problems accepting/understanding is that the SS meetings/reports/actions are not a matter of public record. The fact that we can’t see evidence of what SS may or may not have discussed doesn’t mean they haven’t taken an ‘interest’?

Any follow up lawsuit against the McCs would have to be based on evidence. And since the PJ will probably not release what they have for years, the most likely suit would be for child neglect, IMO.
The McCs would be wise to accept responsibility for child neglect at some point. Fastest way to turn things in their favor. But they stubbornly refuse to take any blame, except for that one MINUTE!
Think of that! A one minute lapse of responsibility out of 5 nights running, is all they will admit to.
They are in such deep denial, you have to question what really happened that was cause them to clean up the scene and put up those walls of denial.

If I may comment on US media:
US tv news and news programmes are pretty much like UK tabloids and the reporting is blatantly biased and there is nothing investigative or balanced about it at all. Most American know this and can be seen frequently yelling at their tellies. Print media is a completely different animal.
Print and enews tends to be very different and is usually balanced and we still have some investigative journos here with big cajones. Willing to go to jail to protect their sources identity.
I think your average red neck hick from Arkansas might even surprise you in that they are going to think something is fishy even if CBS is not offering a complete picture of the McCann weirdness and doesn’t emphasise gov’t involvement and all their media and officical connections. I live in an affluent neighbourhood of mixed race and most here think their story smells. My friends in other areas (several are RC) also think the whole thing is suspicious.
CBS has been fighting for high ratings for years. Out of what is known as ‘The Big 3′ CBS hasn’t been successful in a very long time. Their demographics is older than the other big 3 networks (ABC and NBC) and so they tend to be conservative in lifestyle political leanings. Their main demographic may have a lot of trouble with their McBalls Babysitting Service. I don’t know any affluent educated, let alone non-university blue collar, person who would leave their 10 year old unsupervised - but a 3 year old? Most Americans cannot understand the McCann logic.
Americans are notoriously suspicious of government and media so don’t underestimate them.
Oh and so far, all programmes about MM, have been very proMC so this show is no different. John Walsh of AMW has been anti-PJ and anti-Portuguese as has pitbull with nice jewellry, Nancy Grace. And most amazing of all is that Mark Klauss (daughter Polly was abducted, raped and murdered) has towed the anti-PJ/Portugal line and is supportive of the Mcs but he’s been very outspoken against the Ramseys - which doesn’t make much sense to me.
I don’t know for sure. But I think these people have been reading the awful UK reporting online and have confused ethical US journo guidelines with the crap being offered as truth from the UK. None of which would fly here.
Someone needs to tell Nancy Grace’s “experts” that the Portuguese police do in fact have sniffer dogs and they were used in PdL before British dogs arrived. Just another slur against the Portuguese I have heard repeated from tv news programme to tv new programme.
But reports in US papers and their emedia outlets have not had the sloppy reporting of the UK. And Americans are naturally suspicious. (Unless of course America is attacked by Muslim extremists - then they will believe anything.)

I’ve been reading this forum for a week now, and the question that comes to my mind, but have never seen handled here is:
If I’m an abductor and I want to take 1 kid, why would I go into a room with 3 kids and have the change of waking them up and start screaming/crying.
