You are absolutely correct and I’ve never doubted that the McCann’s are hiding something(s). However, just consider what it is they may be trying to ‘hide’.

As I’ve noted to Kris, they could be guilty, along with their friends, of the worlds worst attempted alibi cover up to avoid child neglect charges? Imagine they hadn’t been checking the children, all/most of the Tapas group, and that all/some of them had been sedating. Imagine they had indeed been involved in some of the more lurid ‘activities’ that some people have alleged.

If, and I know it’s seems as likely as abduction at the moment, someone(s) within the Tapas 9 actually was responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance they then have a huge ‘secret’ they need to keep. What if this person(s) then made a huge song and dance to the group about just how stuffed their lives and careers are once details of the crap child care and social activities comes out? What if this person, or someone close to them, also conveniently “claims” to have seen the alleged abductor carrying a child away earlier in the evening?

And so begins the most convoluted alibi fabrication in criminal history. What the McCann’s think they are trying to hide is their, and their friends, ‘unconventional’ social life and its consequential impact on their appalling child care arrangements. What they don’t realise is that one of their ‘friends’ has a much bigger secret they need to hide.

Everybody, or most of the group, would be bound by the need to keep their social life/activities and crap parenting a secret.

I’m not particularly wedded to this scenario, and don’t have any evidence to back it up, it’s just an alternative that may loosely fit the information we currently know about.

This feeding frenzy serves a need in a society that thrives on sensationalism.

It is unfortunate that a young innocent victim is the sacrafice.

And despite there not being any evidence for abduction, the McCanns ardently and steadfastly insist that they KNOW it was an abduction. Yet the only indication of this is the changing story of Jane Tanner, who at first did not even know if it was a child that the faceless man was carrying. Now she is 100% sure it was Madeleine. What other “evidence” is there for abduction? The “forced shutters” turned out to be another McCann lie. The displaced Cuddle Cat is something suspect Kate alleges, but it does not even prove abduction. Gerry could have displaced Cuddle Cat while cleaning up the body fluids.

It’s clear that the McCanns themselves have no basis to form an abduction theory, but they went ahead and did so anyway, claiming that a pedophilia network targeted Madeleine. Why? Did one of their members have a coloboma fetish? No, this is the McCanns feverish effort to convince the public that there was an abduction. It is a complete fabrication on their part, based on absolutely nothing but their own desire to escape the legal and professional consequences. You could see that when Gerry said publicly that he hoped the paedophile abductors are “treating her like a princess”. Either he himself does not believe Team McCann’s ludicrous abduction theory, or he believes that it is possible that paedophiles can be very nice people whom he would be glad to have caring for his daughter.

Yes, that is another way to put it. Gerry was publicly caught in a lie — he lied about visibility of the apartment from the tapas bar. He also lied about the distance, calling it 50 yards. These lies were deliberate attempts to escape the consequences of being found guilty of neglect.

What has Gerry said that is NOT a lie? That is the question.

“There is every sign that they moved their child’s body like a piece of garbage in the boot of the car and dumped it.”

For them, Madeleine’s body was no different than a piece of rotting meat that must be thrown away for it is no longer edible. They regarded her like a dirty nappy to be disposed of while holding one’s nose. These people have the dignity of grave robbers plundering the dead.

” There is clear proof that they refused to comply with the investigation and fled. ”

They are cowards for not facing up to the consequences of their own despicable behavior. However, they will find that they cannot run away from the wrath of God.

“They have clearly set up with undue haste a fund that benefits the McCann family and not used it for the purpose that donors expected. ”

An astoundingly depraved greedy resourcefulness in seeking profit from the death of their own child, which they themselves caused.

“They have trade marked their child.”

Another example of their debased morality.

“They have had friends make home movies of them and preened in front of the cameras with no thought for their daughter.”

Their daughter for them is now nothing but trademarked product. They weigh the advantages and disadvantages of selling it in this or that market.

“And I have no stomach at all to argue with the likes of Kris, Alexis, Garth, Stig, LOL, Dave S or whatever the current name is. All mindless zombies, the lot of you. ”

These people are members of the McCann family, and/or Team McCann, IMO. Probably Gerry is amongst them.

Kate and Gerry do not have the guts to just tell the truth and confess their guilt publicly, and seek the mercy of God. I feel most sorry for that priest who had to endure being used by them, and also for their twins, who will probably be delinquent drug addicts before they enter primary school.

Edit…. A) Not really true; or B) A matter of perception. I agree with you that the McCanns have behaved oddly (home movie, etc), but nothing that is– to me– too terribly outside the bounds of normalcy in what is already a really weird world.

And, it appears to me there is ZERO forensic evidence against them — ie, Madeleine’s blood has NOT been proven to be in the apartment, there WAS no boot soup proven to be Madeleine-related. So, in other words, all we have against the McCanns that we can see is: They act weird, and the cadaver dogs.

Someone else today pointed out that if the McCanns and their friends were all half drunk when police arrived, it seems so completely implausible that one or the other had managed to recently (VERY recently) kill a 3-year-old and hide her body. Since we have confirmed sightings of Madeleine as late as 6:30 p.m., that leaves the McCanns all of 2 hours to perform the deed and hide the body. It’s not realistic. Edit…

Kris, I really wish our different time zones didn’t preclude a more interactive conversation..

Jane Tanners sighting of the Egg Man, the alleged timing and the fact that she saw Gerry and Wilkins, but they didn’t see her, is all most odd.

Carlos Anjos on the recent Panorama program gave a very lucid explanation about the DNA. Without discussing the McCann’s case explicitly, he implied via a general discussion about DNA that you can have ‘indications’ of something but not absolute truth. (Can’t recollect now, but I think he was talking about 80% matches giving ‘indications’) The clear implication here, for me anyway, is that at the time he was speaking they didn’t have 100% matches (and they may never do) and so other evidence will be required to make a strong case.

The McCann’s don’t just act ‘weird’, they manipulate the media and ‘plant’ evidence explanations. Gerry’s almost throwaway remark on the Jon Corner “home video” that was shown on Panorama about him wondering if the twins hadn’t been sedated by the implied ‘evil predator’, to name but one example.

The ‘confirmed sightings’ of Madeleine that you mention are not in confirmed, I believe. There is much talk of the PJ being interested in a “missing six hours”. If taken in a quite literal sense as being the six hours prior to 8.30PM, that means that the PJ have queries about the period from 2.30PM on the 3rd May. Right after the time that the ‘last photo’ was allegedly taken.

I haven’t a clue what the McCann’s may be guilty of, could be anything from the worst attempt in the world to manufacture an alibi for them and their friends to avoid child neglect charges through to something much more heinous. That they know much more about the events leading up to Madeleine’s disappearance I have little doubt, in my opinion.
