Madeleine McCann: Michaela Walczuch At The Door, JonBenet Ramsey And Metodo 3 ‘A Pup’
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY MIRROR: “Did they want my girl?”
Karen Sixsmith is in conversation with the Mirror. It is an “EXCLUSIVE”. She is in an apartment at the Ocean Club, Praia da Luz. It is a month before Madeleine McCann went missing
A woman knocks at her door. She claims to be a Jehovah’s Witness. “German-born” Michaela Walczuch is a Jehovah’s Witness, or has been. The “mysterious woman” at the door is with a man.
Says Sixsmith: “It was a blonde woman, 35 to 40 years old, English-speaking. She had a pamphlet and I knew straight away that she was a Jehovah’s Witness. She asked if she could come into the apartment to talk about her faith. I took the pamphlet from her and closed the door. I now think it may have been Murat and his girlfriend”
Michaela Walczuch is 34
Karen has a daughter called Kate – “Kate is strikingly similar to Madeleine…Kate would have stood out a mile with her blonde hair and blue eyes - just like Madeleine”
Says the Mirror: “Her testimony - given to the Sunday Mirror so we could pass it on to the McCanns’ private investigators Metodo 3 in Barcelona”
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Snatch bid last year at Maddie flat”
“A man tried to kidnap a child at the same apartment Madeleine McCann vanished from SIX MONTHS before she went missing,” says a British nanny who “caught the pervert trying to climb in through the ground floor window while a baby slept inside”
DAILY EXPRESS: “BABYSITTER SAW WINDOW MAN”
A source says “A babysitter has given detectives a statement in which she claims she caught a man trying to climb in through a window of apartment 5A – the apartment later occupied by the McCanns”
THE PEOPLE: “SICKENING SMEAR CAMPAIGN - FAMILY’S EMOTIONAL PLEA FOR MISSING DAUGHTER’S RETURN”
“Cops spent days investigating a theory the couple did it because they were desperate for cash”
It is a “sickening smear” making headlines in Portuguese paper 24 Horas
“NO QUIZ FOR MURAT LOVE” - Tuck Price, “a pal of German born Walczuch”, reveala: “I know for sure she’s been going to her Jehovah’s meetings and I know for sure the police haven’t contacted her. If this was true I’m sure the police would have been on to her”
“Find Maddie and give us a miracle for Christmas..” - “Maddie’s grandfather Brian Healy revealed how the family are convinced that she is alive and how they are now hoping for the ultimate Christmas miracle.” Says he: “We will all buy her a Christmas present and they will be under the tree waiting for her when she comes home”
GLASGOW SUNDAY MAIL: “Fury Over ‘Maddie Sold’ Slur”
An “outrageous slur”
A source says: “For several days the judicial police team investigated the possibility that the child had been sold by her own parents because of financial difficulties”
DAILY STAR: “MADDIE: 10 NEW SUSPECTS”
“Spanish investigators hunting for Madeleine McCann have narrowed their search to a hit list of ten paedophiles, we can reveal. Detectives working for the Metodo 3 agency are blitzing locations in Europe and Africa to find the known sex offenders”
Why this ten? Why ten?
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We have every confidence in Metodo 3. They can get to places faster and work quicker than anyone else and have the capacity to work worldwide”
BURNLEY EXPRESS: “Girls’ symbolic silence for Madeleine McCann”
Chelsea Gallagher and Gemma Lee, both 13, raised £450 for the Madeleine McCann Fund with a sponsored cuff-and-silence.
“For an entire school day, Chelsea and Gemma, 13, were handcuffed together and remained silent.” Says Chelsea: “The handcuffs symbolised the people who will be caught, and the silence because we haven’t heard anything about Madeleine”
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann: is there no hope left?”
“Bristling with bravado before the television cameras last week, Francisco Marco, the portly boss of the Spanish-based detective agency Metodo 3, sneeringly dismissed the Portuguese police investigation into the disappearance of the couple’s daughter, Madeleine, as ”bumbling”, and boasted: ‘’We know who the kidnappers are and we are very, very close to catching them.’ Off camera, he admitted: ‘No, I can’t disclose any more yet. But I will be proved right.’”
Marco will get his man. A PI always does. Sign the contract. Pay the fee…
A source “close to” the McCanns says: ”The harsh fact is that they were pinning their remaining hopes on Marco’s outfit when they hired them on a six-month contract in September. But, in the past few weeks, they have conceded that they might have been sold a pup. There’s no doubt they’ve worked round the clock, but they don’t have a lot of experience with this type of investigation”
But there are for months left on the contract…
THE GUARDIAN: “Panorama walk-out over McCann film”
“Why did TV journalist David Mills, the producer of a Panorama film on the McCann affair, quit the project before it was transmitted last week? The Observer’s David Rose reveals the inside story of the latest row to hit the BBC’s flagship show”
Sensationalism? Tabloid journalism? Crime as entertainment?
Mills wrote a script. It was not used. “His original film would have compared Madeleine to the JonBenet Ramsey case in Colorado, about which Mills has made three previous documentaries. After the body of JonBenet, a child beauty pageant winner aged six, was found in her parents’ Boulder home, they were vilified by the police and media, despite their continued insistence that they had nothing to do with her death. They claimed she had been killed by an intruder…Years later DNA evidence proved beyond doubt that JonBenet had been killed by an intruder. John Ramsey told Panorama: ‘It’s a life-time damage. No question about it.’”

Well done…have to be very aware when the anti-catholic thing clouds the issue.
November 25th, 2007 at 3:42 pm
A MAN who looks like Robert Murat tried to climb into the apartment where Madeleine McCann went missing at a time when another child was alone inside, it was claimed last night.
A new witness, who worked as a nanny at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz, has given a sworn statement about the incident to detectives in the UK and Spain.
The British girl claims she disturbed a prowler, described as looking identical to official suspect Murat, trying to climb in through the ground-floor window of apartment 5A six months before Madeleine disappeared.
The babysitter immediately reported the incident to management at the Mark Warner resort, who passed the information to Portuguese police.
The woman, who has asked not to be named, said she left a baby sleeping in the apartment while she went to get something to eat. On her return she startled the man, who saw her coming and fled shouting, “No, no”.
Details of the sighting have been given to detectives at Metodo 3, the Barcelona-based agency hired by the McCanns three months ago. Investigators are now working on the description of a man in his 30s with dark hair.
:
They are understood to have shown the nanny photos of 34-year-old British expat Murat and are now certain it is the same man.
The woman has been interviewed by police in the UK where she is also thought to have given a statement under oath.

I come back to this…
I think the McCanns are trying to come up with anything - any shred of information that will support their abduction story. They have no plan B so they can only keep beating the same drum, which is abduction. There’s too much against abduction so they have to keep finding any story however tiny to support abduction. The myriad sightings, the changing story by Tanner, people peeping in windows etc. - they’re all stories designed to bolster the McCann angle.
In fact, their whole story hinges on an acceptance that two highly intelligent, educated people would actually leave their toddlers alone in the first place.
November 25th, 2007 at 3:36 pm
It occurred to me that maybe Metodo 3 is working like a double-agent. Perhaps they are in cahoots with the police as a way of redeeming themselves for previous controversies. I think this case is closer to convictions than we know.
Remember in the Panorama show where they said the PJ have evidence that the McCanns and press don’t know about?
I was listening again to the Panorama recording and made these conclusions:
1. Gerry engineered the trip to Huelva with Mr Corner as a way to say to people “look - we had nothing to do with it as the boot was full of posters…see!”
2. The illness on August 2 was to keep the media away as they had a big job the next day.
3. The reporting of 1700km’s is probably a mistranslation. I have read somewhere that the car did over 2700km in a short space of time. At 5/8ths x this you get 1700. I suspect the car did 1700 miles (2750km).
4. Panorama by way of John Corner’s voice-over said the allegation was that the McCanns transported Madeleine in the boot to Huelva. No Mr Corner…the allegation is that the McCanns used the car to transport a dead Madeleine from A to B. Nobody has said where they think A and B are…although Huelva is the best bet for “B”.
5. Panorama didn’t address the missing two hours in Huelva or the fact that it was fiesta time and everywhere was closed.
6. It has been reported that John McCann also went to Huelva. Why did Panorama not indicate that he went as well and why was John not interviewed in this context?

151. Swannie.
I’ve often wondered if Mr Mitchell could ever be charged with anything if the McCanns are charged and found guilty of involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance.
It would be interesting to find out what it is that makes him so sure of the McCanns innocence, apart from just their word, because if there is actual evidence that can prove they aren’t guilty of anything to do with Madeleine’s disappearance then why hasn’t it been presented?
————————————————————————
I think it’s well recognised that people can delude themselves into believing just about anything given sufficiently strong motivation.
Over on the Mirror forum one thread is running arguing that one or more of the Portuguese police murdered Madeleine.
I rest my case…

121 Logic Says:
I also wonder this.
1. There is a query as to whether 7 children instead of 3 were in the flat that night.
The PJ seem to have some reason to think that (possibly). . . . .. [more]
————
Anyone know more about this? In which flat were the children purported to be?
If M was seriously ill or worse, perhaps she was moved away from the others, including her sibs. Or they were moved away from her.
Astonishing that one child was a mere 10 months old.
November 25th, 2007 at 3:32 pm
My opinion for what it’s worth.
I think the word ’suggestive’ has been the catylist for this whole ‘circus’.
I am sure GM said on the panorama show that the PJ’s made a ’suggestion’ as to what could have happened and GM agreed, that’s how it must have been.
Now someone has been ’suggesting’ Murat’s girlfriend may be involved and wayhey several people saw her with a child resembling Maddie or in an area where Maddie was spotted etc.
It was suggested Maddie would be in the Rif mountains or Morocco wayhey several sightings in those areas.
It also make’s me very suspicious that Murat has his own pr - that Max Clifford or whatever who likes to play the media in his own way - the word ’suggestive’ springs to mind once more.
Who is pulling the media strings? Team McCann, Max Clifford, Brian Kennedy or is it higher up? Or is it all of them in their own way?
Media coverage - fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
Right that’s my pen’orth for today, going to decorate the christmas tree now. Love christmas.

Putting the boot straight into the PJ again!

I think I would characterise Garth’s footwear as more along the lines of flip flops.
After all, now that the McCanns have turned on Metodo 3 we can expect to hear the tragic cries of how they were deceived by these evil twisted people who have taken their hopes and turned them to ashes.

Hmmmm…..Seeing that the People’s interview was an Exclusive
with Ma and Pa Healey
Hope Clarence had checked with them first.
And that they (Healey’s) have poo-pooed the “Exclusive”
If not then it would seem that a split is becoming evident between
Grandparents and Clarence….and possibly between Dr’s McCann
and Grandparents too.

123 Tony Bennett
You are talking rubbish, Tony, and dangerous rubbish at that. We are not living in the middle ages. Your anti-catholicism, well known and well documented elsewhere, seems to be driving you here. If you want to present a cool case against the McCanns, you need to keep this prejudice out of it. You allowed your strong homophobia to show too much in the Barrymore case, whatever the rights and wrongs of that case.
You are perfectly entitled to be anti-catholic. You are entitled to be a fundamentalist, creationist Christian. But you are foolish to let these views lead you to print lies. They only discredit your case.
You might think I’d be glad about that, glad to see you discredited as a weird and ill-willed eccentric and glad to see the anti-McCann view pushed by a man like you. You have made it a joke. But I’m not glad. You are letting down those who, however misguidedly, follow your lead on this one. Serious and well-intentioned debate is good. I myself have questions about this case, SERIOUS questions, although I see, as yet, nothing to support the view that the McCanns had either motive or opportunity to carry out the crime you and some others accuse them of. I keep an open mind. However, I certainly want those who do believe they may be guilty to be able to present OBJECTIVE, fact-based views and to ask those SERIOUS questions. It never pleases me to see debate dragged down to the level to which your anti-catholicism is dragging it.
You are in danger of making the whole case against the McCanns seem tawdry, shabby, lying, desperate, just plain weird.
Where is the priest on record as saying those exact words. Tony? In some rag? Have you seen him on video?
BTW, have you watched the video of the anglican priest, who shares the church with the catholic priest? I think we can be in no doubt about HIS thoughts on the matter. He shows himself as a true Christian. He endorses what his catholic colleague did (giving keys to the McCanns to find peace when they wished to pray privately in church) and, although he is too polite to say it outright, his contempt for the innuendo behind the interviewer’s questions is plain to see.
This man, NOT a catholic, knew the McCanns well. Do you? He may be wrong in his assessment of them, even after spending so much time with them in the months following Madeleine’s disappearance. That’s quite possible. But can you, who have not even met the McCanns (I think?) be so sure that your assessment is so much more accurate than his?

I’m not sure why you think that.
If the abductor was striding across the top of the road toward Murats house at 9:15, why would he end up at the bar which is in the other direction? Was he striding around PDL that night hoping to be seen?
—————————————————
I don’t think there was an abductor.
And until someone produces some evidence as to the abductors existence I shall continue to think that there was no abductor.
We have no evidence as to how much drink the irish witnesses had partaken of, so making references to them stumbling out of the pubs in order to discredit their evidence is clearly biased and throws into doubt the entire analysis.
Just pointing that out…

Matt 66 and all those interested inthe priest angle.. I read that the priest is now a broken man, a shadow of his former self. Reports from the press describe him as being a totally diferent person -the one before meeting the McCs and the depressed man he became afterwards. I think that he went to live with his old mother ,away from the seminary. I may be wrong but I’m sure she lives near that Barragem da Bravura( near the man made lake divided by a dam with a single path..) PLEASE can anyone explain this , Ifound it while doing a search about the priest TODDLER SKI CLOTHES….. Fear Father Pacheco gave the McCanns spiritual and emotiona support in the days after their daughter ……. If only she had been with them in Prai du Luz I tried to access the site , but it said page could not be displayed….. ANY Thoughts anyone.

He said: “We haven’t finalised plans for Christmas. We will speak about Christmas when the time is right…”
Home life for Mr Mitchell must be pretty crap. Looks like he’s planning on spending it with the McCanns.
Apart from that though, there is still a month until Christmas Day, plenty of time for Madeleine to reappear. Just as there was when Mr McCann was planning “World Maddie Day”.
