Madeleine McCann: Michaela Walczuch At The Door, JonBenet Ramsey And Metodo 3 ‘A Pup’
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY MIRROR: “Did they want my girl?”
Karen Sixsmith is in conversation with the Mirror. It is an “EXCLUSIVE”. She is in an apartment at the Ocean Club, Praia da Luz. It is a month before Madeleine McCann went missing
A woman knocks at her door. She claims to be a Jehovah’s Witness. “German-born” Michaela Walczuch is a Jehovah’s Witness, or has been. The “mysterious woman” at the door is with a man.
Says Sixsmith: “It was a blonde woman, 35 to 40 years old, English-speaking. She had a pamphlet and I knew straight away that she was a Jehovah’s Witness. She asked if she could come into the apartment to talk about her faith. I took the pamphlet from her and closed the door. I now think it may have been Murat and his girlfriend”
Michaela Walczuch is 34
Karen has a daughter called Kate – “Kate is strikingly similar to Madeleine…Kate would have stood out a mile with her blonde hair and blue eyes - just like Madeleine”
Says the Mirror: “Her testimony - given to the Sunday Mirror so we could pass it on to the McCanns’ private investigators Metodo 3 in Barcelona”
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Snatch bid last year at Maddie flat”
“A man tried to kidnap a child at the same apartment Madeleine McCann vanished from SIX MONTHS before she went missing,” says a British nanny who “caught the pervert trying to climb in through the ground floor window while a baby slept inside”
DAILY EXPRESS: “BABYSITTER SAW WINDOW MAN”
A source says “A babysitter has given detectives a statement in which she claims she caught a man trying to climb in through a window of apartment 5A – the apartment later occupied by the McCanns”
THE PEOPLE: “SICKENING SMEAR CAMPAIGN - FAMILY’S EMOTIONAL PLEA FOR MISSING DAUGHTER’S RETURN”
“Cops spent days investigating a theory the couple did it because they were desperate for cash”
It is a “sickening smear” making headlines in Portuguese paper 24 Horas
“NO QUIZ FOR MURAT LOVE” - Tuck Price, “a pal of German born Walczuch”, reveala: “I know for sure she’s been going to her Jehovah’s meetings and I know for sure the police haven’t contacted her. If this was true I’m sure the police would have been on to her”
“Find Maddie and give us a miracle for Christmas..” - “Maddie’s grandfather Brian Healy revealed how the family are convinced that she is alive and how they are now hoping for the ultimate Christmas miracle.” Says he: “We will all buy her a Christmas present and they will be under the tree waiting for her when she comes home”
GLASGOW SUNDAY MAIL: “Fury Over ‘Maddie Sold’ Slur”
An “outrageous slur”
A source says: “For several days the judicial police team investigated the possibility that the child had been sold by her own parents because of financial difficulties”
DAILY STAR: “MADDIE: 10 NEW SUSPECTS”
“Spanish investigators hunting for Madeleine McCann have narrowed their search to a hit list of ten paedophiles, we can reveal. Detectives working for the Metodo 3 agency are blitzing locations in Europe and Africa to find the known sex offenders”
Why this ten? Why ten?
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We have every confidence in Metodo 3. They can get to places faster and work quicker than anyone else and have the capacity to work worldwide”
BURNLEY EXPRESS: “Girls’ symbolic silence for Madeleine McCann”
Chelsea Gallagher and Gemma Lee, both 13, raised £450 for the Madeleine McCann Fund with a sponsored cuff-and-silence.
“For an entire school day, Chelsea and Gemma, 13, were handcuffed together and remained silent.” Says Chelsea: “The handcuffs symbolised the people who will be caught, and the silence because we haven’t heard anything about Madeleine”
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann: is there no hope left?”
“Bristling with bravado before the television cameras last week, Francisco Marco, the portly boss of the Spanish-based detective agency Metodo 3, sneeringly dismissed the Portuguese police investigation into the disappearance of the couple’s daughter, Madeleine, as ”bumbling”, and boasted: ‘’We know who the kidnappers are and we are very, very close to catching them.’ Off camera, he admitted: ‘No, I can’t disclose any more yet. But I will be proved right.’”
Marco will get his man. A PI always does. Sign the contract. Pay the fee…
A source “close to” the McCanns says: ”The harsh fact is that they were pinning their remaining hopes on Marco’s outfit when they hired them on a six-month contract in September. But, in the past few weeks, they have conceded that they might have been sold a pup. There’s no doubt they’ve worked round the clock, but they don’t have a lot of experience with this type of investigation”
But there are for months left on the contract…
THE GUARDIAN: “Panorama walk-out over McCann film”
“Why did TV journalist David Mills, the producer of a Panorama film on the McCann affair, quit the project before it was transmitted last week? The Observer’s David Rose reveals the inside story of the latest row to hit the BBC’s flagship show”
Sensationalism? Tabloid journalism? Crime as entertainment?
Mills wrote a script. It was not used. “His original film would have compared Madeleine to the JonBenet Ramsey case in Colorado, about which Mills has made three previous documentaries. After the body of JonBenet, a child beauty pageant winner aged six, was found in her parents’ Boulder home, they were vilified by the police and media, despite their continued insistence that they had nothing to do with her death. They claimed she had been killed by an intruder…Years later DNA evidence proved beyond doubt that JonBenet had been killed by an intruder. John Ramsey told Panorama: ‘It’s a life-time damage. No question about it.’”

“The witnesses are keen to be requestioned. (Jane Tanner made that perfectly plain, but the PJ don’t, or won’t, contact them.)
Where do they go from here?”
Portugal would be a good choice ??? I’m sure they’d be allowed to answer as many questions as the PJ have to ask!
Jane Tanner has made NOTHING perfectly plain yet - despite several different attempts !!

Kate also said she would take a lie detector test but hey, when given the oppertunity to do so by an expert, CM states she doesn’t need to take one, she’s telling the truth. I would imagine if the pj’s really did want JT to return to portugal to be re-interviewed, the McC’s lawyers will find a legal excuse for her not to go.

I can provide them with the PJ telephone number…at no cost whatsoever…
as they seem to have mislaid it…and then they can ring and ask the PJ for
an interview……seeing as they are so keen .
Problem solved.

Yeah…But, would you take Murat out of the frame? I wouldn’t…It seems he only has his mother to corroborate his alibi…

Why be so nasty?
Is everyone not entitled to their opinion?
Is everyone not allowed to air their thoughts? A bias could even help to find the truth?
I have always valued your insight & thoughts but now you sound just like ”bully Thea”.
Shame.

“The woman has been interviewed by police in the UK where she is also thought to have given a statement under oath.”
Since when have the British police started taking “statements under oath” ??? Did they use Kate’s Bible?
November 25th, 2007 at 4:17 pm
Maria,
Conspiracy theorists think everyone is up to no good - governments, the Freemasons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Royal Family - they’ve all been accused in this case, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I know, but what would you do in their position?
The witnesses are keen to be requestioned. (Jane Tanner made that perfectly plain, but the PJ don’t, or won’t, contact them.)
Where do they go from here?
If they are guilty they could just have shut up and not hired anyone else. They could have slunk home long before they did, instead of pushing the police to call in additional help (British).
I said last night that I don’t blame the PJ for not agreeing to the Mccanns’ request for FBI help but I just mean that, in their shoes, I might also have been thinking desperately of who could possibly help. And the USA does, I think, have a better record on finding missing children, although I’m open to correction. If they didn’t, why did the UK, desperate to improve things after Soham, model its current practice on the USA Amber Alert?
Anyway, all this is seems pointless. The investigation is going nowhere if current reports that the PJ are giving up are true. Not that we can expect them to continue at this level indefinitely.
There seems little to be gained in going over all the old arguments again and again. The “pros” and “antis” (to use terms I despise and which I think should be inaccurate) will interpret every single little development to suit themselves. Until there is real new evidence, little progress seems likely.
Chenier
Well, if you don’t believe the PJ had grounds for making Amaral an arguido and for charging his deputy (forgotten his name) then I fail to see why you should take their suspicions about the McCanns or Murat any more seriously.
And if you believe the McCanns would actually, at this stage, make themselves look dafter or more suspicious by deliberately choosing a naff PI firm, then it’s not me who needs that bridge!! Or do you seriously think they thought it would never come out…….with the press digging the dirt on absolutely everything and everyone even remotely connected to this case?!

What are the British government doing to help Murat?
*********************************
The child thing is the key - despite the fact that the British government have managed to transpose the alleged ‘care’ about children to ‘care’ for the suspects who might have harmed the child. But, that’s typical British hypocrisy which we’re all used to. But, if Murat had his child out there then she could have been used (as Madeleine has been used) to stir up and create whatever emotions and reactions were considered desirable by Murat and/or official agencies.

Or should I call you Ave Maria as you’re so holy? You are so very very proficient at jumping on what you think might be a popular bandwagon - hoping that other intellectually challenged posters will support you, and you have done it again in lambasting Tony Bennett’s lucid and, as far as I am aware (and you too probably), accurate comments on the ‘practices’ of the Catholic Church in his post 128. I am not speaking for Tony as I know he’s well capable of speaking for himself. Since you returned to this forum I have successfully managed to skirt your wafflings— but this recent one of yours (149) is quite compellingly disgraceful. Why don’t you go away again? You really have nothing worthwhile to say.

In fairness I thought the same, but, I guess as professionals they are, they decided it would be best to show her a photograph of him and then get her to sign a statement stating it was a true likness of the man she’d seen……………….

We’ve all read it, Garth.
We’ve also all read the Mail’s story on Marco’s mummy in handcuffs, and the Telegraph’s sad tale of the even sadder couple who were sold a pup…
Do keep up!
November 25th, 2007 at 3:47 pm
Metodo 3
The McCanns seem to have bad luck in detectives, don’t they?
First they get Amaral, a man under investigation for covering up the torture by his colleagues of another woman whose child had disappeared, and his deputy, charged with beating up a suspect, later cleared completely, in another case.
Then, when they engage a PI firm, it turns out to be a “pup”, although the whole story on that may not yet have been told.
They did ask the PJ for FBI help but were refused. I wish they hadn’t been. The FBI have no jurisdiction in Portugal, obviously, but their advice and expertise could have been sought, as was British expertise in some areas. I think the McCanns’ judgement was correct that the FBI may have the experience and expertise to give the best advice and support in tracking down exactly what happened to Madeleine that night and subsequently. If the McCanns themselves are guilty, FBI people might have sussed it out. If they are not guilty, similarly.
The only hope now is Rebelo, unless the McCanns find a different PI firm. I don’t think the search should be abandoned completely although we couldn’t expect the Portuguese to continue spending their taxpayers’ money at the current rate for ever, especially as the likelihood, sadly, is that the child is no longer alive.
I wonder what the process would be for the fund being used to help the police force to continue the investigation? Probably impossible? Bureaucracy and red tape no doubt.

Stevo,
do you think that soothsayer is a sourse of misinformation ?
Yesterday he exploded with abuse and changed to Ruth immediately,is not his aim here to show off? I do not trust him any more. What do you think?
November 25th, 2007 at 3:45 pm
Can I go back a bit here….. who was in 5A with Kate while everyone was out looking for Madeleine? I still think her body was in the apartment that evening and the abduction was claimed so that everyone went off searching.
I hope you are right Stevo, that they are nearer to convictions than we all realise. I’d love this to be all over by Christmas, I dont want to come on here on Christmas day lol, but my addiction to the story wont let me stay away.

It occurred to me that maybe Metodo 3 is working like a double-agent. Perhaps they are in cahoots with the police as a way of redeeming themselves for previous controversies. I think this case is closer to convictions than we know.
————————————————–
And I think the chances of Metodo3 working with the Portuguese police in order to redeem their position with the Spanish police are non-existent.
Just like the chances of Metodo 3 being the overt idiots to distract attention from the real investigators are non-existent.
That died the death when Clarence helpfully told the newspapers the license plate number of a car in which a little girl 99.9% sure to be Madeleine was travelling in. Princess Diana car crash anyone?
