Madeleine McCann: Michaela Walczuch At The Door, JonBenet Ramsey And Metodo 3 ‘A Pup’
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY MIRROR: “Did they want my girl?”
Karen Sixsmith is in conversation with the Mirror. It is an “EXCLUSIVE”. She is in an apartment at the Ocean Club, Praia da Luz. It is a month before Madeleine McCann went missing
A woman knocks at her door. She claims to be a Jehovah’s Witness. “German-born” Michaela Walczuch is a Jehovah’s Witness, or has been. The “mysterious woman” at the door is with a man.
Says Sixsmith: “It was a blonde woman, 35 to 40 years old, English-speaking. She had a pamphlet and I knew straight away that she was a Jehovah’s Witness. She asked if she could come into the apartment to talk about her faith. I took the pamphlet from her and closed the door. I now think it may have been Murat and his girlfriend”
Michaela Walczuch is 34
Karen has a daughter called Kate – “Kate is strikingly similar to Madeleine…Kate would have stood out a mile with her blonde hair and blue eyes - just like Madeleine”
Says the Mirror: “Her testimony - given to the Sunday Mirror so we could pass it on to the McCanns’ private investigators Metodo 3 in Barcelona”
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Snatch bid last year at Maddie flat”
“A man tried to kidnap a child at the same apartment Madeleine McCann vanished from SIX MONTHS before she went missing,” says a British nanny who “caught the pervert trying to climb in through the ground floor window while a baby slept inside”
DAILY EXPRESS: “BABYSITTER SAW WINDOW MAN”
A source says “A babysitter has given detectives a statement in which she claims she caught a man trying to climb in through a window of apartment 5A – the apartment later occupied by the McCanns”
THE PEOPLE: “SICKENING SMEAR CAMPAIGN - FAMILY’S EMOTIONAL PLEA FOR MISSING DAUGHTER’S RETURN”
“Cops spent days investigating a theory the couple did it because they were desperate for cash”
It is a “sickening smear” making headlines in Portuguese paper 24 Horas
“NO QUIZ FOR MURAT LOVE” - Tuck Price, “a pal of German born Walczuch”, reveala: “I know for sure she’s been going to her Jehovah’s meetings and I know for sure the police haven’t contacted her. If this was true I’m sure the police would have been on to her”
“Find Maddie and give us a miracle for Christmas..” - “Maddie’s grandfather Brian Healy revealed how the family are convinced that she is alive and how they are now hoping for the ultimate Christmas miracle.” Says he: “We will all buy her a Christmas present and they will be under the tree waiting for her when she comes home”
GLASGOW SUNDAY MAIL: “Fury Over ‘Maddie Sold’ Slur”
An “outrageous slur”
A source says: “For several days the judicial police team investigated the possibility that the child had been sold by her own parents because of financial difficulties”
DAILY STAR: “MADDIE: 10 NEW SUSPECTS”
“Spanish investigators hunting for Madeleine McCann have narrowed their search to a hit list of ten paedophiles, we can reveal. Detectives working for the Metodo 3 agency are blitzing locations in Europe and Africa to find the known sex offenders”
Why this ten? Why ten?
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We have every confidence in Metodo 3. They can get to places faster and work quicker than anyone else and have the capacity to work worldwide”
BURNLEY EXPRESS: “Girls’ symbolic silence for Madeleine McCann”
Chelsea Gallagher and Gemma Lee, both 13, raised £450 for the Madeleine McCann Fund with a sponsored cuff-and-silence.
“For an entire school day, Chelsea and Gemma, 13, were handcuffed together and remained silent.” Says Chelsea: “The handcuffs symbolised the people who will be caught, and the silence because we haven’t heard anything about Madeleine”
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann: is there no hope left?”
“Bristling with bravado before the television cameras last week, Francisco Marco, the portly boss of the Spanish-based detective agency Metodo 3, sneeringly dismissed the Portuguese police investigation into the disappearance of the couple’s daughter, Madeleine, as ”bumbling”, and boasted: ‘’We know who the kidnappers are and we are very, very close to catching them.’ Off camera, he admitted: ‘No, I can’t disclose any more yet. But I will be proved right.’”
Marco will get his man. A PI always does. Sign the contract. Pay the fee…
A source “close to” the McCanns says: ”The harsh fact is that they were pinning their remaining hopes on Marco’s outfit when they hired them on a six-month contract in September. But, in the past few weeks, they have conceded that they might have been sold a pup. There’s no doubt they’ve worked round the clock, but they don’t have a lot of experience with this type of investigation”
But there are for months left on the contract…
THE GUARDIAN: “Panorama walk-out over McCann film”
“Why did TV journalist David Mills, the producer of a Panorama film on the McCann affair, quit the project before it was transmitted last week? The Observer’s David Rose reveals the inside story of the latest row to hit the BBC’s flagship show”
Sensationalism? Tabloid journalism? Crime as entertainment?
Mills wrote a script. It was not used. “His original film would have compared Madeleine to the JonBenet Ramsey case in Colorado, about which Mills has made three previous documentaries. After the body of JonBenet, a child beauty pageant winner aged six, was found in her parents’ Boulder home, they were vilified by the police and media, despite their continued insistence that they had nothing to do with her death. They claimed she had been killed by an intruder…Years later DNA evidence proved beyond doubt that JonBenet had been killed by an intruder. John Ramsey told Panorama: ‘It’s a life-time damage. No question about it.’”

And as for arguing with Judith C– why bother arguing with a woman who truly believes she can record the voices of the dead on a tape recorder? It’s not like we’re talking to someone who thinks terribly clearly here. Everyone seems to be all impressed with her because she’s a Published Author, but let’s be honest: She’s a published author of a real loony book!

How come she didn’t recognise “him” from all the

………………………….
As with all other witnesses it is way too late to take this as any credible way. Surely if a witness is given a prime suspects photo to look at to verify if it was the same man that tried to get in appartment 6 months earlier it cannot be possibly used in court- it’s like leading the witness- proding them to the guy they want it to be etc.-it is too dodgy. Another unrelabe witness

Garth ad nauseam
MARIA: I’ve viewed your post 149 with great interest.
There was a lot of personal abuse in it. I don’t want to get involved in debates about people’s personal views, I’d rather stick to the point, though I’m happy to answer questions if people want.
So let’s just stick to the real issue here, shall we?
In your lengthy post criticisng me, did you once challenge my assertion that confessions made in the confessional are secrets to be retained within the Roman Catholic Church?
No you did not.
Did you challenge my assertion that Roman Catholic priests would even keep secret details of the most horrendous crimes, such as murder, if disclosed in a confessional box?
No you did not.
Did you challenge my assertion that any priest who disclosed secrets of the confessional outside the Roman Catholic Chucrh would be ‘defrocked’ and ‘excommunicated’?
No you did not.
So because I’d made my points, and made them correctly, and made the Roman Catholic Church look wrong on the issue, instead of beig able to rebut what I said, you responded with an ad hominem attack.
It’s be done before by those who have lost the argument.
Now, you doubted whether Father Pacheco had ever said he would take his sectrets about the McCann case to the grave. You asked me to provide evidence.
Well, here’s *just one* of many press reports:
====================
THE priest who police believe heard Kate McCann’s confession insists he will take her secrets to the grave with him.
Father José Pacheco, 46, said he could never breach the secrets of the Roman Catholic confessional box.
And he has told police that, even if Kate or her husband Gerry HAD admitted to him that they had been involved in the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine, he could not tell them.
Father Pacheco – who gave the couple spiritual support during their time in Portugal – had not been seen in public since it was revealed that police wanted to question him.
Worried members of his flock in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz had not seen him at his chapel for four days.
But yesterday, an assistant said the priest was “still alive and in good health” and had been interviewed by detectives.
The assistant said: “He went voluntarily to the police station. He is keeping himself available to make further statements. But the one thing he will never do is violate the secret of confession.”
Catholic priests are bound by oath never to reveal sins revealed in confession. Father Pacheco is said to have been ticked off by Bishop Manuel Quintas for giving the McCanns the keys to his chapel, so they could pray in private.
====================
Bottom line, Maria, is that it is very possible that this case may never be solved because Father Pacheco, of the church you belong to and love so much, won’t disclose criminal acts by the McCanns.
And it appears that you support him in this.
P.S. I am not ‘homophobic’ and you wil be unable to produce any evidence that I am. So don’t say it
November 25th, 2007 at 4:57 pm
Stig, don’t bother going after Can’t Say No– this person doesn’t speak English well enough to even read this forum and doesn’t undersatnd 90 percent of what goes on here. I think that is where some of it comes from.

Well, if you don’t believe the PJ had grounds for making Amaral an arguido and for charging his deputy (forgotten his name) then I fail to see why you should take their suspicions about the McCanns or Murat any more seriously.
————————————————————-
And I have said this where? Or is this simply another exercise in creativity?
————————————————————————–
And if you believe the McCanns would actually, at this stage, make themselves look dafter or more suspicious by deliberately choosing a naff PI firm, then it’s not me who needs that bridge!!
——————————————————————————–
Logic, Maria, logic. Try providing some evidence and then constructing a hypothesis on the basis of that evidence.
The reality is that no competent firm of investigators would ever have behaved in the way that Metodo 3 has, and a lot of people have pointed that out.
Only a dodgy firm could have been relied upon to take the public attention in the direction the McCanns wanted it to go.
The belief that a reputable agency would do that has no evidence to support it.
So spare us the retrofitting of the facts to support the latest sad story…
————————————————————-
Or do you seriously think they thought it would never come out…….with the press digging the dirt on absolutely everything and everyone even remotely connected to this case?!
———————————————————————–
The public admission that Metodo3 is dodgy is almost certainly as a result of Clarence briefing against Metodo3; just another in the line that the McCanns have turned on. The picture of Marco’s mummy in handcuffs has been around for a long time; I would have thought that a media keen to dig the dirt would have printed it long ago.
The reality is that the dirt digging has been directed against everyone but the McCanns; it has only become when the evidence against them became incontrovertible that the media here has started covering their backs.
The Interpol conference in Morocco was the final nail in the coffin of police forces around the world taking anything the McCanns say as trustworthy at all.
Gerry is supposed to have slaved away over a hot laptop in search of his daughter, and couldn’t even find a reputable agency.
I don’t think he was looking very hard…

Maria
Why would you assume that if people are lying they’d be good at it?
It’s obvious they are lying and that every time they try to make the story more plausible they make it sound even worse.
They’re probably lying to make themselves look better parents - since leaving your children in an unlocked apartment, at night, is incredibly stupid - but personally, after watching the Panorama programme, I think they’ve such vile people that it doesn’t matter how many lies they tell, they’ll never look good.
How can Kate think Gerry crying is a funny anecdote? How could she say ‘abducted, murdered, whatever…’

She said they’d be perfectly happy to go to Portugal any time if asked by the police.
I don’t know whether or not she’s telling the truth BUT she told the police what she claims to have seen. She told them TWICE on the 3/4th May, once in GM’s presence, and has now said publicly (her own words, not press reporting) that she’d go back and talk to them again “tomorrow” if they wanted her to. She also said it was nonsense to suggest there was any wish to change their testimony. That’s odd because it’s her testimony (together with GM’s) which leads to the 5-minute window of opportunity. I can’t think why, if guilty and lying, they didn’t make up a better, more convincing story. No doubt people would not believe GM had been there at all at that time were it not for the independent testimony of Jeremy Wilkins. (Wilkinson?) who remembers having a perfectly ordinary few minutes chat with him after he’d checked the children.
I’m beginning to wonder why they DON’T want to reinterview the McCanns and the tapas friends. I really find it difficult to believe the red tape makes it quite so difficult. It looks almost as though they are avoiding it. (Sorry. I’m beginning to sound like a conspiracy theorist and we have enough of them on Anorak already!)

I am not speaking for maria she is perfectly capable of speaking for herself(in your words about poster 149?). I do think she has every right to be here just as you do.
Bennet certainly was well versed in his opposition to canonical law. This lay person needs to brush up on Bennet’s “authoritatve” opinions on catholic dogma.
Now! what would that have to do with the price of coffee!!!
About the Pope removing the McCann’s from his radar. It is not a good idea for him to be embroiled in controversy.ditto for the American President who sent a minor aide to meet with McCann. I found it suicidal for the British PM to get involved. Even the wealthy moguls who put their money on the line. Not a wise move.
