Madeleine McCann: Michaela Walczuch At The Door, JonBenet Ramsey And Metodo 3 ‘A Pup’
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY MIRROR: “Did they want my girl?”
Karen Sixsmith is in conversation with the Mirror. It is an “EXCLUSIVE”. She is in an apartment at the Ocean Club, Praia da Luz. It is a month before Madeleine McCann went missing
A woman knocks at her door. She claims to be a Jehovah’s Witness. “German-born” Michaela Walczuch is a Jehovah’s Witness, or has been. The “mysterious woman” at the door is with a man.
Says Sixsmith: “It was a blonde woman, 35 to 40 years old, English-speaking. She had a pamphlet and I knew straight away that she was a Jehovah’s Witness. She asked if she could come into the apartment to talk about her faith. I took the pamphlet from her and closed the door. I now think it may have been Murat and his girlfriend”
Michaela Walczuch is 34
Karen has a daughter called Kate – “Kate is strikingly similar to Madeleine…Kate would have stood out a mile with her blonde hair and blue eyes - just like Madeleine”
Says the Mirror: “Her testimony - given to the Sunday Mirror so we could pass it on to the McCanns’ private investigators Metodo 3 in Barcelona”
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Snatch bid last year at Maddie flat”
“A man tried to kidnap a child at the same apartment Madeleine McCann vanished from SIX MONTHS before she went missing,” says a British nanny who “caught the pervert trying to climb in through the ground floor window while a baby slept inside”
DAILY EXPRESS: “BABYSITTER SAW WINDOW MAN”
A source says “A babysitter has given detectives a statement in which she claims she caught a man trying to climb in through a window of apartment 5A – the apartment later occupied by the McCanns”
THE PEOPLE: “SICKENING SMEAR CAMPAIGN - FAMILY’S EMOTIONAL PLEA FOR MISSING DAUGHTER’S RETURN”
“Cops spent days investigating a theory the couple did it because they were desperate for cash”
It is a “sickening smear” making headlines in Portuguese paper 24 Horas
“NO QUIZ FOR MURAT LOVE” - Tuck Price, “a pal of German born Walczuch”, reveala: “I know for sure she’s been going to her Jehovah’s meetings and I know for sure the police haven’t contacted her. If this was true I’m sure the police would have been on to her”
“Find Maddie and give us a miracle for Christmas..” - “Maddie’s grandfather Brian Healy revealed how the family are convinced that she is alive and how they are now hoping for the ultimate Christmas miracle.” Says he: “We will all buy her a Christmas present and they will be under the tree waiting for her when she comes home”
GLASGOW SUNDAY MAIL: “Fury Over ‘Maddie Sold’ Slur”
An “outrageous slur”
A source says: “For several days the judicial police team investigated the possibility that the child had been sold by her own parents because of financial difficulties”
DAILY STAR: “MADDIE: 10 NEW SUSPECTS”
“Spanish investigators hunting for Madeleine McCann have narrowed their search to a hit list of ten paedophiles, we can reveal. Detectives working for the Metodo 3 agency are blitzing locations in Europe and Africa to find the known sex offenders”
Why this ten? Why ten?
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We have every confidence in Metodo 3. They can get to places faster and work quicker than anyone else and have the capacity to work worldwide”
BURNLEY EXPRESS: “Girls’ symbolic silence for Madeleine McCann”
Chelsea Gallagher and Gemma Lee, both 13, raised £450 for the Madeleine McCann Fund with a sponsored cuff-and-silence.
“For an entire school day, Chelsea and Gemma, 13, were handcuffed together and remained silent.” Says Chelsea: “The handcuffs symbolised the people who will be caught, and the silence because we haven’t heard anything about Madeleine”
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann: is there no hope left?”
“Bristling with bravado before the television cameras last week, Francisco Marco, the portly boss of the Spanish-based detective agency Metodo 3, sneeringly dismissed the Portuguese police investigation into the disappearance of the couple’s daughter, Madeleine, as ”bumbling”, and boasted: ‘’We know who the kidnappers are and we are very, very close to catching them.’ Off camera, he admitted: ‘No, I can’t disclose any more yet. But I will be proved right.’”
Marco will get his man. A PI always does. Sign the contract. Pay the fee…
A source “close to” the McCanns says: ”The harsh fact is that they were pinning their remaining hopes on Marco’s outfit when they hired them on a six-month contract in September. But, in the past few weeks, they have conceded that they might have been sold a pup. There’s no doubt they’ve worked round the clock, but they don’t have a lot of experience with this type of investigation”
But there are for months left on the contract…
THE GUARDIAN: “Panorama walk-out over McCann film”
“Why did TV journalist David Mills, the producer of a Panorama film on the McCann affair, quit the project before it was transmitted last week? The Observer’s David Rose reveals the inside story of the latest row to hit the BBC’s flagship show”
Sensationalism? Tabloid journalism? Crime as entertainment?
Mills wrote a script. It was not used. “His original film would have compared Madeleine to the JonBenet Ramsey case in Colorado, about which Mills has made three previous documentaries. After the body of JonBenet, a child beauty pageant winner aged six, was found in her parents’ Boulder home, they were vilified by the police and media, despite their continued insistence that they had nothing to do with her death. They claimed she had been killed by an intruder…Years later DNA evidence proved beyond doubt that JonBenet had been killed by an intruder. John Ramsey told Panorama: ‘It’s a life-time damage. No question about it.’”

Brace yourselves for the long haul team! This from 24Horas this morning
Questions go at snail speed
The rogatory letter that contains over one hundred questions for the McCanns, their friends and relatives, will have to go through diplomatic channels
Twisting and turning, the rogatory letter that contains over one hundred questions that the Policia Judiciaria wants to be asked to the McCann couple, their relatives and their friends who were in Praia da Luz, Lagos, Algarve, in May, is going to go through a series of bureaucratic acts that could stretch over more than six months.
According to judicial sources, this type of diligence is started with a request from the authorities that are in charge of the investigation, in this case the PJ, to the procurator who is in charge of the process, at the Public Ministery in Portimao. These two steps were made, but now procurator Magalhaes e Menezes is waiting for the arrival of the final results from the tests that were sent to an English lab.
When he makes a decision, the prosecutor has to deliver the letter to the judge, who then sends it to the Republic’s General Attorney. The latter sends the document to the Ministery of Justice, which then sends it to the Ministery of Foreign Affairs.
But this is not all. The letter is sent to the English Foreign Office, which then sends it to the British Ministery of Justice, which makes the letter arrive to the Lord Chancellor - the local General Attorney. From there, the document flies into the hands of the Birmingham Court, who will have to nominate a Judge and a Procurator. That procurator will decide which police force will comply with the rogatory letter, interrogating the persons.
“The average time for a rogatory letter to be answered is six months”, says Joao Pedroso, a lawyer and a former member of the Superior Council of Magistrates.

Tony Bennett now famous in Portugal. This from Correio da Manha on 22nd Nov
English poll
A poll that was performed by the British newspaper ‘Daily Star’ shows that 86% of the people that were polled over the phone want to see Madeleine’s parents accused of neglect. The persons that were inquired fail to understand why the McCann couple left their children alone on the night of May 3.
Judge dismissed case
English lawyer Anthony Bennet, aged 60, tried to advance a process against the McCann couple, with the purpose of accusing them of neglect. But a judge at the court in Loughborough didn’t accept the case, arguing that the lawyer has no powers to advance with the accusation.

Clare
Most definitely Clare. Why would Stevo’s observation and analysis of BG’s situation get backs up? They are supposed to be searching for their missing child, yet they want to get on their high horses over something that could be very real! Let’s say for argument’s sake that BG is M, there are numerous people who could have disposed of her in such a way! Not necessarily the Mc’s but ANYBODY, and something could have gone desperately wrong ……. and now the situation has popped up, they have made not comment about it … apart from accusations against Stevo , for a very unbiased observation what could have happened. The bells are starting to ring … andnot in the way certain peopl would like. Strangebut true!

345 Chenier. I hope you are right, but the cost to GM / KM / Tanner / O’Brien ‘breaking’ is so high (struck off / kids taken into care) that this means an external breakthrough is probably necessary.
Mind you, I would not like to be any of the 4 of them - imagine the fear, every time the phone rings, or the door-bell sounds… Is this the one with Plod coming to take you away for a very long time…

Kate: ‘Shut up Gerry - I’m busy, its beditime and I lost the hypo’.

Stevo,
Yes, I know - Riley is from Spring, this is the only girl who has as strong likeness to BG as M. has.
I find that e-mail you describe is in fact evidence that they are terrified of BG. That could be their support for abduction theory, but they are still terrified. I think it shows that they are not looking for a missing girl. Sending the body to USA is much safer than burying it in Portugal, that is why they were so confident? And they must be terrified of you, so they threaten you, but all in vain.
Ha-Ha, they can’t even touch your site, evrything is perfectly legitimate! Their fund is, in my opinion, a fraud, since they use the money in the abcense of evidence of any abduction.

The best we can hope for is some news on BG this week. I think the DNA will lead to more undercover police work. For all we know they may already know who it is and are doing follow up work on the clothes/sand/vegetation/method of death etc.

Yes, Stevo the whole part about the BG story and little Riley Ann Sawyer that really got my aerials perked was the one statement by Major Ray Tutoi….. that they “knew” that BG was not Riley, but that they had to investigate because of the “odd” circumstances under which she disappeared (and wasn’t even reported missing) …. (I know I’ve misquoted what was said here, but his words were to this effect).
It’s almost as if they already know who BG is, but are investigating further.

I think we are at a stalemate here.
————————————————————-
I don’t think so.
It’s worth bearing in mind that all the stalemate stuff is being heavily spun by the McCanns, for obvious reasons. They desparately want to believe it; I see no reason for the rest of the world to fall in with their wishes.
They are not stable or normal people and they are not career criminals surrounded by the Mob’s lawyers; I just don’t think that they have the ability to hold their nerve.
And bodies being dug up decades later may well explain why they are at last going into ‘accepting she is dead mode’; they are trying to tap into the well spring of pity for Vicky Hamilton’s family.
It’s just more spin…

Yes, Julie until DNA evidence proves otherwise there is every possibility BG could be M and can never understand other posters being angry at that suggestion which is more plausible than than Team McCann following every sighting of every blonde 3-4 year old! I’m also behind Stevo in his efforts to get justice for M. Keep it up Stevo and continue fighting for M ,there are many more people supporting you than against your campaign.I suspect the few who voice their objection are working with Team McConn!!!

337 - In fact it is a REQUIREMENT of all JW members to do a certain number of hours of ‘door-knocking’ each year to avoid being booted out. Loony behaviour perhaps, but not suspicious as such. I also love the quotes about “she looked at me and my little girl in a funny way”;
All of which, when taken along with Murat’s dodgy eye are all so much more damning than DNA evidence, and sniffer dogs finding dead bodies in your flat, car and clothes. Small wonder that the press are on it ! The morons.

Me too. Finals at Trent Poly (now rebadged as a Uni for some reason) in 1984 right in the middle of the Miners’ Strike, so 14 hour shifts 6 days a week plus evening classes or notes from other students on carbon paper.
Mature students are much better at law. Law is a degree not for training the mind, but for a trained mind. Denning was a Chemist originally. The application of clear and cold logic and the ability to see through fallacious arguments are the key. Go for it.

Dont forget Robert Murats girlfriend is a JW and so, it has been claimed, Brian Kennedy. He is the paymaster for Metodo apparently (which is odd, as they are supposed to be looking for Maddie, which is funded from the official fund isnt it?).
He is not likely to allow them to attack the JW’s. One of the claims is that she was calling at the apartments wanting to discuss her faith and giving out leaflets. I may be being stupid here, but isnt that a common characteristic of the JW’s?!!).

Last night on my site I received an email from a guy in Scotland and connected to a Margaret McCann. He said I was “perpetuating a fraud” by saying BG could be M.
Now that’s pretty strong coming from an intelligent member of the public isn’t it?
***************************
Stevo :
Firstly, you are NOT “perpetuating a fraud”, you are showing a possiblity. If this guy really has connections to the McCanns (via whoever Margaret McCann is) then why are they so perturbed that you are revealing something that really could be?
Even if BG does not turn out to be M, are they now very worried that you are revealing something that could turn out to be true? If for e.g. M had been “dumped” (OMG I hate that word) into the sea in a vessel of sorts, that a similar thing could happen?
Very, very odd accusation coming from a “concerned” member of public!

I think we are at a stalemate here.
- PJ They probably have enough evidence, so no further major work is required, but
- PJ cannot go to court until a body is found
meanwhile, this leaves the coast clear for Team McCann and their hired dirt-diggers to
- Smear Murat and his g/f
- Continue to report false sightings
until either
- the press get bored of it… (unlikely as it sells so many papers), or
- the body is found (unlikely as it appears to be hidden based on tips taken from GM’s summer reading book)
I’m struggling to see how there can be a move away from that stalemate any other way?

Ah is this the Pamela Fenn who changed her story about the kids crying out for their Daddy?
I know I know, she never said it - it was the pj telling porkies.
Or was it the pj telling her she shouldnt have told anyone? Damned secrecy laws make it difficult! At least in the UK ‘they’ just beat the shit out of you if you say anything ‘they’ dont like.
Or stick a few bullets in your head - if you are unlucky enough to look a bit foreign. Funny old country we live in. If you dont like someone and they happen to be of a dark complexion, you get sued (unless they are in the Portuguese Police - I think you get away with it then). But you are allowed to blow their brains out.

“What a lot of people don’t realise when comparing the McCann case to the Chamberlain case is that forensic science has progressed beyond belief since then. DNA testing would have helped more than anything in the Chamberlain case because the blood was a key piece of evidence.”
Stevo, I don’t agree. What happened in that case was unimaginably bad forensic lab work. Had it been done properly, Lindy would probably never have been convicted. mistaking rust for foetal blood went beyond a mere mistake, I suspect, and may have involved deliberate malice. There were also establishment figures who seemed to desperately want a conviction.
That case did not need more modern forensics, it just needed long used and well established techniques to have been done properly in the first place.

And the amount of press coverage was also unwelcome IMO. That’s why Gerry had to come up with a viral illness on August 2 - to shake them off prior to the Huelva trip. It had a double effect as the press laid off the McCanns the following day.

The girl from Spring is “Riley” - I think they are one and the same. If it turns out to be her then so be it. What amazes me is that you’d think that after 26 days, the police would have enough circumstantial or physical evidence to rule it out as being Madeleine. But they haven’t have they? Therefore, it’s not unreasonable to assume the physical evidence is very closely matched and they have to do the DNA to make sure.

Plus, we all should know the outcome of the BG situation. I only hope it proves to be Madeleine for one good reason - it closes both cases. If it isn’t her then it probably means two dead toddlers instead of one.
********************
Yes Stevo agree with you 110 % on this one. I would rather have the one case “almost” solved with the identification of BG being M, than for BG to be some other little girl … as you say it would then mean two dead toddlers instead of one. I also have no hope that Madeleine is still alive, every single odd of an abducted child is stacked against her, and the odds of her still being alive are 0,0000000001%.
I know that you and I, (amongst a lot of other posters) have been ridiculed for even possibly believing that BG could be M, but it’s a real possibility, and one that you have shown could be true with your intensive research … for this I take my hat off to you … I don’t think there are many people around who would have had the “balls” to actually put onto a website what you’ve found … but you’ve done it … you’ve shown it could actually be possible!
November 25th, 2007 at 6:21 pm
319 Ian. Indeed I did. Good point. For me the fatal flaw in GM’s plan was the unscheduled bumping into Wilkins. It reduced the window to mere minutes, and removed the ability of the ‘abductor’ to get in or out using the concealed and open side entrance and forced him to go out the front door (or window), pass by several appartments on his way to the front entrance, walk past cars, houses, general public as he wandered casually down the main road…
Oh how Gerry must wish he had not met Wilkins… if he had not, he would have been at the table, and the ‘abductor’ could have nipped out the patio / side steps and away in his car.
But it’s on these tiny but hugely signficant details that many a case has hinged.
