She asked if she could come into the apartment to talk about her faith. I took the pamphlet from her and closed the door. I now think it may have been Murat and his girlfriend”

The real wind-up is the abduction. There wasn’t one. The real message is that the abduction part of the story is falling apart, though disproving the abduction is not the same as proving homicide by someone close to Maddy. But it sure helps.

Interesting you say, after watching the McCann documentary last night, that KM came across as sick and tired of the whole thing. I don’t have a TV so didn’t see it, but it makes one think that perhaps the exhausting part of having to keep up a pretence - with no end in sight - will be the one thing that will wear her down and, in the end, make her tell the truth.

It’s interesting you remark that “the McCanns shy away from mention of water”. The chilling dismissive statement from a ‘friend’ about the possibility of finding Madeleine’s body - in fact it was probably the first time one of their ‘team’ mentioned ‘a body’ - was made when the PJ were allegedly looking in and around the Barragem de Bravura. I have long had the feeling that she is in still water, perhaps near Huelva, perhaps in a dam.

The McCann documentary was aired last night - some points: Kate had lots of trouble with her words and on one occasion with her speach! She came across as weary - sick and tired of the whole thing. It struck me that Kate knows what happened. Gerry does too. More players are in this case for sure. Why? Big question.
