Gillian Gibbons: Teddy Bears, Zionists And Imperalism
GILLIAN Gibbons is in jail for calling a teddy bear Mohammed.
“ALL BECAUSE OF A TEDDY,” says the Sun’s front page. “MOB WANT BRIT TEACHER DEAD.”
“KILL HER,” says the Express.
“KILL HER! KILL HER!” echoes the Mail.
“Mob calls for teddy bear teacher to be shot,” says the Telegraph, a fact illustrated by a picture of an angry looking Muslim with a, er, sword.
Says Gillian Gibbons:
I still cannot believe this…Never in my life would I have ever thought I would be accused of deliberately insulting someone or something. I am simply not like that… It was my dream to come here so why should I have come and then insulted Islam? If I was that type of person I would have never come in the first place or I could have done that sort of thing in London or Liverpool.
In Liverpool, calling a teddy “Boris” is ill met by large women in replica football tops. A London-based teddy called “Anthea” was recently thrown on the top of a bus shelter.
But this goes further. No-one sane goes out of their way to cause offence, even Mel Gibson, and it is with an eye to human-to-human harmony we look at the teddy bear in Western society and suggest some alternatives:
Says a spokesman for the Sudanese Teddy Liberation Front: “Teddy Bears are Zionist agents. A thousand cuts on Beary Poppins, Queen Elizabear, Bearie Antoinette, Sarah Bearnheart, Abearham Lincoln, Albeart Einstein. Queen Elizabear, Cyrano de Beargerac, Lauren Bearcall, Tony Bear, Bear Mitzvahs…

I think Mrs Gibbons should be punished by DEATH as is the punishment in islam for this type of doing.
Think of it this was how about if a muslim teacher was teaching christian children would he/she name a teddybear JESUS…?
NO i dont think she would as it would be insulting.
I am a UK born muslim but if anyone insults my religion then they should be punished she is lucky just to have 15 days it could have been worse but remember we dont go around naming teddybears jesus so why does anyone have the right to name a teddybear after our holiest prophet, how could anyone have been so dumb…!

just another excuse for some of the bad islamic society to burn property, riot, kill ( or want to) & cause havoc. being such a ‘peaceful’ religion !!!!
*********************************************************************
Funny that !! ….all these so-called “peaceful nations” always seem to have the most violent tendencies, fly off the handle at the slightest perceived slight and go around blowing up themselves and everyone else and hacking bits off people, all in the name of “peace and love” …yeah right !!

How come as a (non-churchgoing) Christian, I can’t demand the death of Muslim nutters (sorry - extremists) who call for the killing of Christian teachers? If I was to do it, the police would arrest me, haul me before a Crown Court and then I would be imprisoned. But when a Muslim does it, they get away scot-free?
Now, I agree that if I was to call “death to all Muslims” I’d be done (rightly) for inciting racial hatred, but Proud to be Muslin can get away with it with impunity - why is that, apart fron the fact that they aren’t afraid to use violence.

Was being sarcastic, I frankly don’t give a hoot what people call their offspring, I meant that the PC crowd here wouldn’t tolerate Jesus as a name, well actually…they probably wouldn’t say anything but I wouldn’t give much for that child’s peace when he started school !!

Couldn’t agree more but what they are trying to do is drag US back to the 16th Century and I am sorry to say so but if they - or any other religious faction - don’t like how we live our lives here, and don’t like what we believe in, why are they here ????…oh !! silly me !! It’s called the Benefits System……

Jesus, pronounced ‘Hay soos’, is quite a common name in Spanish speaking countries. I would have no objection to a Teddy Bear being called it and anyone who did would be as foolish as the Sudanese objectors!

“Think of it this was how about if a muslim teacher was teaching christian children would he/she name a teddybear JESUS…?”
Well, the main difference here is that in most Christian countries she probably wouldn’t be hauled into what passes for a court in sudan, and she certainly wouldn’t be shot.
Islam started out as a peaceful and tolerant religion (read your history) that seems to have been hijacked by raving fanatics. The same thing happened to Christianity in the the dark ages, we had the Inquisition and similar things. We got past it (keep reading that history) and, despite the best efforts of current fundemantalist loonies like Jerry Falwall and his twisted ilk, we haven’t regressed.
So proud muslim, practice your religion and be happy.
Nothing wrong with that.
December 2nd, 2007 at 10:09 am
…and another “furthermore”, there is a very old but true, saying “When in Rome, do as the Romans do” in other words, if you visit / live in someone else’s country, you MUST obey their cultural rules and regs. insofar as you are able. Gillian Gibbons was naive and wrong, not to aquaint herself with the local and social differences and to follow them, but doesn’t deserve to DIE because of it !! DEAD is very final and you don’t come back for a second try !! but the same goes for anyone living over here, whether born here or not, if the culture they belong to has stridently different beliefs to our own. The UK countries are NOT Muslim countries they are, for the most part, Christian, a bit lax possibly, but still Christian nonetheless, and to try to impose the beleifs of a foreign culture on ours, by force sometimes, is unbeleivably crass, high-handed and stupid. I mean…in some countries they drive on the right-hand side of the road, we drive on the left so…if you go to one of those countries and INSIST on driving on the right-hand side of the road because that’s how YOU do it, how long do you think you will last ????

…………….and furthermore, Teddy Bears are a greatly loved, cherished and desirable part of a child’s life in the UK, a comforter and friend, presumably that description doesn’t fit Mohammed ? We all used to have Golliwogs as well, used to belong to the Robertsons Jam Golliwog club, collected the tokens and got the badges until THAT all became “politically incorrect” My school cardigans were “N****r Brown” and I had a dark brown dog called “N****r” but it wasn’t a racial insult when we were kids, it was just a colour which was recognised as being a dark, vibrant brown but I would probably get hung , drawn and quartered for using THAT word these days !! How sad have we all become…..???? “Political Correctness” has a lot to answer for……………………

I assume you don’t live in the UK ? Before you get so excited, how is it that a) the children in the class, who are allegedly 7 years of age, have not been taught up to this point, that you do not insult the name of Mohammed by calling your toys, pets or other lowly things, by the name of the prophet ? in which case they could have told Mrs Gibbons that she was wrong before it escalated to this dreadful point and b) we are given to understand that a child in the class was called Mohammed…… so how does that work ?? We wouldn’t call our children Jesus !! so that smacks of double standards my friend. Quite apart from which, is life so cheap and disposable in your beliefs and culture that you would readily hack the head off someone who makes an innocent mistake of calling a freakin’ Teddy Bear THAT name ???????!!!!!!

LOL. There apparently is a US company already selling tons of Teddy Bears “officially” named Muhammad. I gotta love these guys who take a stand against these wackos. Spread the word, TeddyBearMuhammad.com I want to send a few to Sudan myself. LOL
December 1st, 2007 at 11:42 pm
Reading the papers and i am so outraged at this story of Gillian Gibson. It’s just a teddy for crying out load, I personally think, have the people of Sudan got no common sense at all! What about all the parents who have named their child Mohammed, will they be thrown in jail too…makes you wonder how many of the protesters are called Mohammed or have Mohammed in their name or knows someone who has the name…I mean what about Mohammed Ali…should he be thrown in jail if he ever goes to Sudan? I could understand and sympathise if Gillian called the teddy Allah, Jesus, Budda, God or something along those lines but Mohammed is such a common name…and it was the childrens idea in the first place. GILLIAN SHOULD BE FREED ASAP! I’m sure Britan will welcome you back with open arms.

Of all the countries in the world crying out for good teachers, what a pity that Mrs. Gibbons chose this primitive backwater, otherwise known as Sudan.
Allah da Teddy Bears in the world should protest at this. Will Muhammed now be given away as a not for Prophet Bear?
December 1st, 2007 at 10:54 pm
I have a bear called Bobby. I also had a well-loved stuffed toy called Golliwog.
Don’t stay there Gillian. There are many children in Liverpool who would love you to be their teacher. You are not appreciated over there and your life is wasted staying.
