Gillian Gibbons Pardoned In Sudan
“I AM sorry to be leaving Sudan,” says Gillian Ms Gibbons, thanking the authorities for ensuring that she was well-treated.
Says Gordon Brown: “Commonsense has prevailed. She will be released into the care of our embassy in Khartoum after what must have been a difficult ordeal. Through the course of Ms Gibbons’s detention I was glad to see Muslim groups across the UK express strong support for her case.”

So Stan is not anonymous? Stan wishes to remain anonymous? John Blake is an undercover Sudanese person?
He has a towel on his head?
I’m confused, but I like the nuking option.
Also, how does Bobo figure into this? Is he/she swarthy? And why Portugal?
I live next door to a Mexican family, nice people but very swarthy.
What does this all mean?
I think it means I should drink less coffee in the mornings

This comment was not written by John Blake, but by the poster formerly known as “Stan”.
Normal “Stan” service will be resumed as soon as possible.
And as for the “swarthy” comment made by the Daily Mail Reader - you are incorrect in your description. This was Sudan, not Portugal!

Damned Teddy Bear Taliban! Send Winnie the Pooh and his lovable brigade to stick honey jars on all those blasted toweled heads!

Quite. WTF are all those nuclear weapons for, after all!
Khartoum should obviously be evaporated just as soon as Gillian is safely back in the UK. Have we lost all sense of proportion? An English woman has been hurt, dammit! And by swarthy towelheads too!!! Nuke ‘em.

Gillian Gibbons seems a very pleasant lady and has experienced a lot of stress over what has been total nonsense from the very beginning. Just like most people I have never met Gillian but sometimes I have had the impression that she had an easy-going personality, and maybe, was also a person who is quick to be apologetic when dealing with people.
The situation that she found herself in while in Sudan, would have shocked anyone, and its by far the best to get out of a threatening position.Gillian should realize(if she doesn’t already )that being too apologetic in this world sometimes is seen as a weakness by some and there are times in life when you have to tell people to get stuffed.
This incident has given clear notice that there are many people in this world who are extreme in their behaviour…..to the point of madness, and that governments with any respect for their citizens shouldn’t put up with this nonsense for a second. The British Labour government should take note because they didn’t come out of the situation with Iran with flying colours and they have to get much tougher when the lives of British citizens are involved.
