Madeleine McCann: The Scenic 17, Dr Denny Says And DNA
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS page 21: “New DNA tests could unlock the mystery of lost Madeleine”
More DNA tests at the Forensic Science Service laboratory in Birmingham And this after the DNA tests proved inconclusive…
“Seventeen human cells could provide a major breakthrough in the Madeleine McCann mystery…The DNA samples are being examined by scientists in Britain and Portuguese detectives believe the evidence could unlock an investigation which is now in its eighth month”
The Tapas 7. The Tapas 9. The Scenic 17…
Guilhermino Encarnacao, head of the Policia Judiciaria in the Algarve, says: “We have asked the laboratory to carry out more tests and exhaust every possibility of obtaining conclusive results”
Says Forensic scientist Dr Ronald Denny (not working on the case): “A cell is negligible – you can just about see it under a microscope. It’s a sample someone would leave behind with the touch of a finger. But when placed with certain biochemicals a small amount of DNA grows to a size that can be analysed”
“GP Kate and heart consultant Gerry” are “both 39”
THE SUN page 15: “Only 17 cells of DNA in hol car”
“Cops looking for Madeleine McCann are banking on ‘a smidgen’ of DNA evidence. Scientists have found just 17 cells on samples taken from a hire car rented by Kate and Gerry McCann and their holiday flat”
Says independent forensic expert Dr Ronald Denny: “It is not a hopeless task. If they have 17 cells then they can carry it off very effectively in Birmingham, one of the leading labs in the world”
DAILY MAIL page 5: “Mission Impossible – Forensic evidence too poor to solve mystery of Madeleine, say police”
But Dr Denny is telling two papers otherwise…
A source tells Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas: “It is highly unlikely they will find a DNA connection…If everybody refuses to make statements, which is perfectly possible, we will be left with our hands tied. This is a case which could hang by a thread for years and we may never be able to prove what actually happened to that child”
But what about Dr Denny. Why don’t they ask Dr Denny?
Says Dr Denny: “A person, or their possessions, have to be present for the cells to come off”
DAILY MIRROR page 7: “Maddy: Smidgen of DNA will work?”
Dr Denny is on the case, or not. But the “independent British expert” does have an opinion which is able to share with all of us
DAILY STAR page 9: “MADDIE: IT’S ALL DOWN TO 17 CELLS”
Dr Denny is talking to Star readers…
“Top cop in blast at private eyes” – Former deputy chief constable of Manchester Police John Stalker says of Metodo 3: “I’m not impressed with these people at all. I’d be very surprised if they get anywhere”
This is the same Stalker who delivered “MY VERDICT” to Express reader back in October
“There’s a world of difference in following a paper chase and finding a flesh-and-blood child”
Or a newspaper chase…
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 11: “Madeleine tests are ‘mission impossible’”
Says a source in 24 Horas: “The samples reportedly include microscopic spots of blood from the Ocean Club apartment where Madeleine went missing and ‘bodily fluids’ and hair from the Renault Scenic hired by the McCanns 25 days after their daughter’s disappearance. The samples are so small that, while it will not be impossible to find a DNA link between the car, apartment and Madeleine, it’s highly unlikely The tests being carried out are extremely complex”
But Dr Denny says…
Says Clarence Mitchell: “Kate and Gerry’s friends have consistently said they are happy to be re-interviewed by police if necessary. Indeed, they are keen to help if it clears up any inconsistencies. They, like Gerry and Kate, have nothing to hide”
THE GUARDIAN and THE INDEPENDENT: “No Madeleine news today

REPLY: But, Taybie the Saxon , we already do know about it.
There was a report in several newspapers back in September that a house in Devon had been searched by Eddie the cadaver sniffer dog from South Yorkshire Police, and that he had found the ’smell of death’ on an article of clothing found in the house. This was in connection with the investigation into the death of Madeleine McCann. Russell O’Brien and Jane Tanner live in Devon.

“evening all - just reading the earlier posts about the McC’s visit to holland and the anonymous tip off the police received.
Do we know what date the letter was sent/recieved?
It was taken seriousely because it was similar to one that pin pointed the location of two bodies ( little girls) in holland a few years ago.
Does anyone know the names of these girls?
Has someone been charged with their murder?
When did they dissapear?”
—-
Dear Noseycow,
They disappeared in BELGIUM. The bodies of the 2 girls were indeed found quite near to the place which was indicated and inasmuch as I remember the culprit was arrested. They were 2 young girl, left alone by their boozing mother until 3-4 a.m. until she found they were missing. Quite a different story, I guess

As far as the amphetamine like ritalin is concerned, I thought it was widely thought that the increase in diagnosis of ADHD in children in the states had been partly attributed to pushy mothers looking for uppers for themselves rather than downers for their children.

My sister’s a surgeon….shes 30…she still works ER nights!!!!! It was she who told me there was no way a doctor would not know they would be grilled …anything to do with children especially…They are not that much older…..Now the sedation….that she believes!!
Chenier…who knows what Tanner’s angle is.!..I suspected she was providing an alibi for her partner ….only speculating of course…Why??…It’s a mystery…
———————————————
Ah, the joys of life as a surgeon; they do get called upon for ERs for their entire careers, I think. I’ll bow to her wisdom, noting only that the McCanns appear to have extremely large egos; not sure that they really still have grasped that ’sightings’ of little girls doesn’t constitute evidence of their innocence. Particularly when they are paying the detectives…
And yes, I have to say that the sedation thing seems to be accepted a lot more by medics than the general population…
Tanner is indubitably mysterious; your speculation seems as good as any.
Clearly we all speculate; unsurprisingly given the circumstances. The mirror forum has gone very quiet; even the usual suspects worshiping at the altar of the fragrant ones, are either not turning up or are very muted in their comments. Usually if you so much as suggest that the McCanns are not in line for early sainthood you are accused of being a paedophile, but that has tailed off.
Perhaps the money’s running out…

oh i see, hang on, never bothered to read that, no, it doesn’t say that, only says it ’scontraindicated if they are (strangely enough this refers to a child) are abusing or dependant on alchohol or drugs. just noticed most of the whole things written for ‘your child’, i forgot, adhd does not exist in adults in the u.k.

Can anyone explain why K is treated as the prime suspect and not G. As far as I can see they are both at least as bad as each other and personally, I suspect G is a million times worse than K.
what kind of man takes his family on holiday and then spends most of the time on the tennis court - personally, I don’t blame K for putting the children in the creche - let’s face it , it wouldn’t have been much of a holday for her otherwise.

Regarding Metodo 3 potential money laundering - reply to various posters today including Stevo, Peter O, Nemesis, and Sherlock…
The use of the Metodo 3 private detective agency seems to me highly suspicious. They are unqualified for the task at hand, and have made grandiose claims for discoveries in the press that have quietly subsided into obscurity. For instance, the American little girl that they allegedly discovered being held captive in the Rif mountains shortly after they hit the news. I’m still awaiting the huge splash in the news that would be caused by this discovery and the subsequent triumph that they would enjoy in having identified this American missing girl and reuniting her with her family.
I wonder why the press hasn’t picked up on this?
Could it possibly be that it’s all a load of rubbish? Or should I say a load of rotting meat and dirty nappies?
So many people have stated that the poor innocent McCanns are being scammed by the evil Metodo 3 … well, they are FOREIGN, you know. Not like us decent folk.
I believe that this is another example of McCantics. Another spin opportunity to attempt to distract the PJ and all others who are interested from the relevant facts.
I do not pretend to know what the McCanns have done to their daughter… all theories are but speculation because of their obfuscation of the evidence… but I can believe nothing except that they are trying their damnedest to get away with something.
And that is something that we should not, as civilised people, allow.
