Madeleine McCann: The Scenic 17, Dr Denny Says And DNA
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS page 21: “New DNA tests could unlock the mystery of lost Madeleine”
More DNA tests at the Forensic Science Service laboratory in Birmingham And this after the DNA tests proved inconclusive…
“Seventeen human cells could provide a major breakthrough in the Madeleine McCann mystery…The DNA samples are being examined by scientists in Britain and Portuguese detectives believe the evidence could unlock an investigation which is now in its eighth month”
The Tapas 7. The Tapas 9. The Scenic 17…
Guilhermino Encarnacao, head of the Policia Judiciaria in the Algarve, says: “We have asked the laboratory to carry out more tests and exhaust every possibility of obtaining conclusive results”
Says Forensic scientist Dr Ronald Denny (not working on the case): “A cell is negligible – you can just about see it under a microscope. It’s a sample someone would leave behind with the touch of a finger. But when placed with certain biochemicals a small amount of DNA grows to a size that can be analysed”
“GP Kate and heart consultant Gerry” are “both 39”
THE SUN page 15: “Only 17 cells of DNA in hol car”
“Cops looking for Madeleine McCann are banking on ‘a smidgen’ of DNA evidence. Scientists have found just 17 cells on samples taken from a hire car rented by Kate and Gerry McCann and their holiday flat”
Says independent forensic expert Dr Ronald Denny: “It is not a hopeless task. If they have 17 cells then they can carry it off very effectively in Birmingham, one of the leading labs in the world”
DAILY MAIL page 5: “Mission Impossible – Forensic evidence too poor to solve mystery of Madeleine, say police”
But Dr Denny is telling two papers otherwise…
A source tells Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas: “It is highly unlikely they will find a DNA connection…If everybody refuses to make statements, which is perfectly possible, we will be left with our hands tied. This is a case which could hang by a thread for years and we may never be able to prove what actually happened to that child”
But what about Dr Denny. Why don’t they ask Dr Denny?
Says Dr Denny: “A person, or their possessions, have to be present for the cells to come off”
DAILY MIRROR page 7: “Maddy: Smidgen of DNA will work?”
Dr Denny is on the case, or not. But the “independent British expert” does have an opinion which is able to share with all of us
DAILY STAR page 9: “MADDIE: IT’S ALL DOWN TO 17 CELLS”
Dr Denny is talking to Star readers…
“Top cop in blast at private eyes” – Former deputy chief constable of Manchester Police John Stalker says of Metodo 3: “I’m not impressed with these people at all. I’d be very surprised if they get anywhere”
This is the same Stalker who delivered “MY VERDICT” to Express reader back in October
“There’s a world of difference in following a paper chase and finding a flesh-and-blood child”
Or a newspaper chase…
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 11: “Madeleine tests are ‘mission impossible’”
Says a source in 24 Horas: “The samples reportedly include microscopic spots of blood from the Ocean Club apartment where Madeleine went missing and ‘bodily fluids’ and hair from the Renault Scenic hired by the McCanns 25 days after their daughter’s disappearance. The samples are so small that, while it will not be impossible to find a DNA link between the car, apartment and Madeleine, it’s highly unlikely The tests being carried out are extremely complex”
But Dr Denny says…
Says Clarence Mitchell: “Kate and Gerry’s friends have consistently said they are happy to be re-interviewed by police if necessary. Indeed, they are keen to help if it clears up any inconsistencies. They, like Gerry and Kate, have nothing to hide”
THE GUARDIAN and THE INDEPENDENT: “No Madeleine news today

Interesting this is being brought up. In the beginning I thought that the kids were alone ONLY that night of May 3 and found it strange … could have a meaning. Have been asking and checking, but couldn’t get information/confirmation. I think - if it is true - it’s vital information. Who knows more?

Famous scot
William Burke 19th century originally from Ireland was an officer in the Donegal militia good at unearthing bodies and moving them around. Finding ties here Gs parents from Donegal moved to Scotland so did Burke left his children there (dont know if they were supervised) i think they might be related

1122- Postman. Well, what is your theory on why the smell of death wasn’t found by the dogs on Gerry?? Mine would be: Allegedly, because Gerry went to allegedly play tennis, therefore let Kate do the alleged dirty work until O’Brien showed up to remove the alleged body? The theory could go something along those lines, no matter how Madeleine died (IF she died, allegedly, etc).

Much to Mr Parsons chagrin.

i don’t think for a second taht Metedo 3 believe that the Mccanns think their daughter has been abducted - goshe that’s a complicated sentence.
Metedo 3 probably don’t buy the abduction nonsense any more than I do. so, if a person says their dog has been lost and offers me £50 to find it even though I know they’re lying and the dog will never be found, i will take the £50 and send them a report to tell them how well I’m doing in the search.
Please don’t think for a moment that i liken the loss of M to the loss of a dog but as aparent, to even write about the loss of a child is too much like tempting fate and I would rather avoid it.

Don’t bother to analyze and brainstorm: Metodo-3 is a laundering machine. At the same time, they distract the attention and create suspènse, so ….what better?
December 4th, 2007 at 11:41 pm
1111- Trig- yes, OK, now I see. But there’s also the case I pointed out which is, You believe their daughter was abducted, you think you can help them find her, and you take their money. If this agency is not experienced in cases like this, they might fall for this….

Case 1:
You believe in all honesty that they’ve lost their daughter and truly believe that you might find her for them. But you know the truth and take their money anyway. Nope, I wouldn’t do that.
Case 2:
You know that they know that she will never be found, but want to make it look as if they are still looking for her, so you take their money or agree to launder it. Nope, I wouldn’t do that either.
Any other scenarios?
you work with the pj’s secretly and make elaborate tales of finding stuff that would fit the maccan’s wanted theory of abduction in order to both un-nerve them and lull them into making mistakes which hopefully would lead to a conviction.

It should read: (correction in CAPS)
Case 1: You believe in all honesty that they’ve lost their daughter and THAT THEY truly believe that you might find her for them. But you know the truth and take their money anyway. Nope, I wouldn’t do that.
I hope that this makes more sense.

Here is one of the reports of the sniffer dogs’ visit to Devon. ‘Daily Mail’, 26 September:
QUOTE
Madeleine: Sniffer dogs ‘found scent of death’ on one of the McCanns’ friends
————————————————————————————————————
Friends of the McCanns faced fresh allegations yesterday after it was claimed that sniffer dogs had found the “scent of death” on one of them.
The same police dog which reacted to Mrs McCann’s clothes - first causing suspicion to fall on her - was alleged to have smelled “death” on one of the friends who had dinner with the couple the night Madeleine vanished.
Police sources briefed a Portuguese newspaper that two police dogs from South Yorkshire, trained to detect corpses, human remains and microscopic traces of blood, had reacted to some items of clothing.
Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell denied categorically that any such procedure had happened.
The newspaper did not reveal which of the friends’ clothing was meant to have triggered the reaction. Police in South Yorkshire refused to comment.

1088 monstie bags…
Apologies I don’t read all the posts as I can’t keep up… hopefully I’m still allowed to participate as time permits.
As I see it, Metodo 3 are fraud specialists, which probably means that they know how to do it in order to detect it. They are either ethical, in which case they only do detection and not perpetration, or they are not ethical, in which case anything goes.
Given only that information plus that the McCanns hired them (by some unknown selection process) to work on a missing person case, it seems unlikely that they are in league with the PJ.
You say that they’ve been done for fraud in the past? I missed that, please forgive an occasional poster who can’t keep up and enlighten me! That has a material effect on what I think about this situation.
