Madeleine McCann: The Scenic 17, Dr Denny Says And DNA
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS page 21: “New DNA tests could unlock the mystery of lost Madeleine”
More DNA tests at the Forensic Science Service laboratory in Birmingham And this after the DNA tests proved inconclusive…
“Seventeen human cells could provide a major breakthrough in the Madeleine McCann mystery…The DNA samples are being examined by scientists in Britain and Portuguese detectives believe the evidence could unlock an investigation which is now in its eighth month”
The Tapas 7. The Tapas 9. The Scenic 17…
Guilhermino Encarnacao, head of the Policia Judiciaria in the Algarve, says: “We have asked the laboratory to carry out more tests and exhaust every possibility of obtaining conclusive results”
Says Forensic scientist Dr Ronald Denny (not working on the case): “A cell is negligible – you can just about see it under a microscope. It’s a sample someone would leave behind with the touch of a finger. But when placed with certain biochemicals a small amount of DNA grows to a size that can be analysed”
“GP Kate and heart consultant Gerry” are “both 39”
THE SUN page 15: “Only 17 cells of DNA in hol car”
“Cops looking for Madeleine McCann are banking on ‘a smidgen’ of DNA evidence. Scientists have found just 17 cells on samples taken from a hire car rented by Kate and Gerry McCann and their holiday flat”
Says independent forensic expert Dr Ronald Denny: “It is not a hopeless task. If they have 17 cells then they can carry it off very effectively in Birmingham, one of the leading labs in the world”
DAILY MAIL page 5: “Mission Impossible – Forensic evidence too poor to solve mystery of Madeleine, say police”
But Dr Denny is telling two papers otherwise…
A source tells Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas: “It is highly unlikely they will find a DNA connection…If everybody refuses to make statements, which is perfectly possible, we will be left with our hands tied. This is a case which could hang by a thread for years and we may never be able to prove what actually happened to that child”
But what about Dr Denny. Why don’t they ask Dr Denny?
Says Dr Denny: “A person, or their possessions, have to be present for the cells to come off”
DAILY MIRROR page 7: “Maddy: Smidgen of DNA will work?”
Dr Denny is on the case, or not. But the “independent British expert” does have an opinion which is able to share with all of us
DAILY STAR page 9: “MADDIE: IT’S ALL DOWN TO 17 CELLS”
Dr Denny is talking to Star readers…
“Top cop in blast at private eyes” – Former deputy chief constable of Manchester Police John Stalker says of Metodo 3: “I’m not impressed with these people at all. I’d be very surprised if they get anywhere”
This is the same Stalker who delivered “MY VERDICT” to Express reader back in October
“There’s a world of difference in following a paper chase and finding a flesh-and-blood child”
Or a newspaper chase…
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 11: “Madeleine tests are ‘mission impossible’”
Says a source in 24 Horas: “The samples reportedly include microscopic spots of blood from the Ocean Club apartment where Madeleine went missing and ‘bodily fluids’ and hair from the Renault Scenic hired by the McCanns 25 days after their daughter’s disappearance. The samples are so small that, while it will not be impossible to find a DNA link between the car, apartment and Madeleine, it’s highly unlikely The tests being carried out are extremely complex”
But Dr Denny says…
Says Clarence Mitchell: “Kate and Gerry’s friends have consistently said they are happy to be re-interviewed by police if necessary. Indeed, they are keen to help if it clears up any inconsistencies. They, like Gerry and Kate, have nothing to hide”
THE GUARDIAN and THE INDEPENDENT: “No Madeleine news today

Looks like we both had the same thought simultaneously! Except I am thinking of someone who somehow slipped under the radar, not being “officially” part of the known circle of family and friends.

Taybie,
further to my #792.
not at all dismissing the idea of the 7th man as impossible. quite possible, but we’d need that one little clue to know where to probe. it may not be DNA evidence, but maybe an eye witness or CCTV? or mobile phone records?
who knows…

Portia, the photo that Lilith linked to is Amelie McCann.
December 4th, 2007 at 8:20 pm
lilith.
I’ve seen a few photos of Murat’s daughter. In one she was shown at the same age as Maddie when Maddie went missing. Very different little girls. Murat’s daughter had lovely long hair and was wearing a dress. She was the spitting image of the perfect little English girl, most prim and proper…
No way they are related, IMO.

Val
Please could you tell me what witness they are relying on? I havent had time to read all the posts so have missed this one

Was just asking….wasn’t indicating who might have done so.
I was referring to the link posted on 475.
That shows the entry re mark on leg.
But no mention of eye defect.
Yet the Official PJ site does not mention either on it’s page.

565 man on the hill,i have been thinking along the same lines lately to much cover up for accidental death, either they are innocent,or they or someone very close to them,or all together, have been involved in things and committed acts far too sick to think off…
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Recently I’ve been wondering whether another person was involved on 3 May and in subsequent events - someone outside the Tapas 9 etc who’s identity is unknown to the police. I mean, if you are thinking of commiting a crime where you’re likely to be on the suspect list, what better than to enlist a confederate who has no apparent connection with it and who’s DNA and fingerprints aren’t on record? Weren’t there reports of unknown DNA being found in apt 5A? And surely by now if the “scent of death” had been detected on the Tapas 7, Murat, Malinka, the MW staff etc we would know about it and the people in question would’ve been arrested or charged by now - or at least made arguidos.
So beyond the 4 Tapas men, Murat and Malinka maybe the PJ have been unable to identify the “7th Man.” That’s if it was male.
All speculation of course.
——————
Taybie,
The 7th Man would have to be someone they knew VERY well, enough to trust implicitly and who would bend over backwards to help them hide or dispose of a body.
i tend to think they’d want to play their cards very close to the chest and would have kept it pretty much in their circle. which says to me that one or more of them (we’re talking doctors here) knew enough to effectively create a situation where traces of the child were minimized. the objective was to have her Disappear Without A Trace.
the follow-on is the difficult part: who would have known enough about Portugal or Spain (or wherever) to effectively hide or bury a body for it not to be found for 7 months now OR have access to that information?
without the benefit of police intelligence and thriving on the dribs and drabs in the press, you’d tend to think they imagined they’d done a pretty neat job.

I just scanned the Nanny interview and don”t know whether this is her remark, or DM comment”I was feeding her less than 3 hrs. before she disappeared”" If true it throws GM”S
assertion that he asked one of the tennis players to check on Kate at 6.30pm to see
if KM wanted to bring the children out, but they were apparently getting bathed and ready
for bed. AT 7.30pm GM had the children settled. If Madeleine was in the Creche at nearly
7pm being fed what time did she leave? and this is the witness the McCanns are relying on?
December 4th, 2007 at 8:17 pm
What
Yes he is relly Irish - how then apart from misplacing his daughter which appently doesnt go against him- can they nominate him for Scot of the year

LOL This whole thing is absurd. Me thinks he has contacts on this one aswell, another diversion from the truth. How can he be involved in the disappearance of maddie if he is up for an award?

Well…there have been rumours that Tapas No 10 was a Diplomat, or a High Ranked
Businessman etc…..Other suggestions that No 10 was the male companion of Diane
Webester. Fiona Payne’s mother who “disappeared” quickly. There was also rumours
about a family member who was with the party…and who was supposed to have had a furious row with the Mccann’s on the night of the “disappearence”…and he also
departed PDL very quickly.

I hear that Dr David Southall has been struck off. It amazed me when GM was allowed to return I thought that the GMC would have given a suspension until the case was resolved.

Look at this Murat photo…
He’s got strange facial tumours, a deformed ear and he has a glass eye.
“Madeleine” is supposed to have coloboma, also an eye problem.
Murat could be suffering from a genetic disease he passed on to his daughter.
His daughter Sophie might have been the one filling in for Madeleine who was already killed.
It’s possible the real Madeleine has no coloboma at all, as the photo’s of Madeleine without coloboma have shown.
