Madeleine McCann: The Age Of Jose Anes, Gerry McCann’s Fury And Murat’s Nannies Know Best
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
THE SUN: “No one will ever stand trial”
Because no one has been charged with any crime?
Or: “NOBODY will EVER stand trial over missing Madeleine McCann because cops made so many vital blunders,” says the Sun. And so too says Jose Anes, 62: “Mistakes in the early hours demolished the entire case”
The ex-director of Lisbon’s police lab is “Portugal’s top forensic expert”, a billing the lab’s current director may dispute
Mr Anes says: “If the scene is not preserved in the first hours, all the hours of effort that follow are useless. I am utterly convinced — unless some new, concrete evidence suddenly emerges — the case will never reach trial”
But what of the evidence gathered so far, like the DNA samples found in the McCanns’ hire car?
“Maddie sniffer dog ‘was rigged’” - Gerry McCann is “FURIOUS” – as often he is. He “believes sniffer dogs used to find Maddie clues in the family’s hire car were MANIPULATED by cops”
Says a “source close to the couple”: “Gerry says a dog went up to the Scenic, sniffed around and went to head off. He watched the dog being brought back to the vehicle. Finally, it reacts around the boot area. Gerry was open-mouthed at that, he feels the dog was manoeuvred into a position where it could react”
And smell
“Murat pals ’saw him near flat’” – “SUSPECT Robert Murat was PALS with British holiday nannies who say they saw him the night Maddie vanished, it has emerged”
Good friends? “And at least two of the girls knew him well enough to be on first name terms”
That’s close, eh
“A source confirmed yesterday that he did befriend several girls, adding: ‘A lot are attractive and he made a beeline for them. When they were asked who was near the apartment that night, several mentioned Murat”
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine: Forensics expert says inquiry is ‘complete waste’ because of police blunders at apartment”
Says Jose Manuel Anes: “Huge amounts of money were spent but if, in the first hours, the due precautions for the preservation of the crime scene were not taken, all this hard work goes down the drain. We can spend rivers of money which will all go down the drain if the crime scene is not properly isolated”
The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell says: “It is alarming to hear that Mr Anes has this view. All we want, and have done throughout, is to ensure the operational police side of this has been done in an effective and efficient manner as possible”
And why is Mr Anes – “the 62-year-old” - speaking out now? Because he’s making his comments known in a book called The McCanns’ Guilt – not that the case will ever, come to trial, you understand
“Madeleine: Gerry’s fury at ‘bungling’ dog handlers” – More Gerry McCann fury
DAILY STAR: “MADDIE COPS HIDE WITNESS”
Says the paper: “The key witness in the Madeleine McCann inquiry was in hiding last night after fleeing Portugal” – Jane Tanner? Kate McCann? Gerry McCann? No, the unnamed Portuguese tapas waiter…
“Pals say he is terrified his identity is about to be revealed and claim he is also scared of British and Portuguese government influence in the probe…Friends add that he is worried about the private eyes hired by Gerry and Kate McCann, both 39, to help find their daughter”
One former work colleague of the waiter says: “He does not want to be involved in any of this. Through no fault of his own he finds himself at the heart of this worldwide mystery”
DAILY EXPRESS: “MADELEINE: WITNESS GOES ON THE RUN ‘TO PROTECT HIS EVIDENCE’”
“THE key witness in the missing Madeleine McCann case was in hiding last night after fleeing Portugal”
“POLICE WERE ‘SIDETRACKED’ BY MCCANNS” - Former police crime scene chief Jose Manuel Anes is “ONE of Portugal’s top forensic experts”
The WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER investigates. Mr Anes is “71”
And “last night hinted that Kate and Gerry McCann were partly to blame for the flawed investigation into their daughter’s disappearance”. Although the Sun says it was those bungling Portuguese police (see above)?
“They should not have been thinking of the poor little parents but I understand the human dimension and the pressure which immediately involved the investigators. Sometimes the police are too human. The police must be absolutely objective. Somebody’s suggestions and complaints connected to a person’s disappearance should be set aside while the evidence is being gathered. In the moments immediately following the occurrence the goal is to gather everything and preserve everything”
Not bungling, rather too caring; too human
DAILY MIRROR: “McCann DNA clue ‘useless’”
Jose Manuel Anes is 62. He is the retired head of Portugal’s police science laboratory.
He tells the Mirror, and everyone else: “I fear the case will never reach trial” - and even if it did, no jury would be able to convict anyone.
BBC: Audience for BBC News 24 peaked in 2007 at 8.2 million in the week ending 1 July for the bomb attack on Glasgow Airport and at 7.9 million for the story of the kidnapping of Madeleine McCann in the week ending 13 May

An ex colleague of mine worked on “Titanic”. He’s the master of the mistake when you talk to him about that film. My friend was only an extra but he appeared in about 6 or 7 places in the film and he knows all the mistakes!

It’s starting to sound as though there was a child-abusing convention in PDL that week, isn’t it? TB is right–kids vomiting, screaiming, crying…sounds like the children were having quite a miserable time. sounds strange….sounds like a very tense group of Brits all around, wot wot?

All the more strange then, isn’t it, that Gerrykins, on Panorama, said that the night Madeleine disappeared, when he was on the street and met Jes, that it was completely quiet…soundless….

LOL!
Yeah, it looks just like pure pretension, but in fact, it is something far more dangerous, isn’t it? And it shows that the McCanns’ “relationship” with Madeleine may have been little more than pure psychological projection of themselves. And they are now doing it with their other children “My lovely house!”
It is just creepy, pure and simple. Bodes ill in the long-run, doesn’t it.

Everyone knows that you quiet a colicky baby by, uhm, singing his favorite song softly, oh, about 100 times, or gently/carefully putting him on top of the washingmachine or dryer.
But who said the child had colic? I just recall the Guardian writer saying the baby was restless. Do forgive me if I am wrong. I will certainly stand corrected.

You missed out pushing them around in their pram, taking them for long drives, and, my personal favourite, drinking a large gin and tonic whilst inserting ear plugs.
And if you read the whole of the Guardian article, you will see that the baby’s long-distance crying was a regular feature; thus:
‘My phone rang as our food arrived; our baby had woken up. I walked the round trip to collect him from the kiddie club, then back to the restaurant. He kept crying and eventually we left our meal unfinished…’

Re: Coma
The reality is that in order to maintain life you would need a lot of specialist kit; paediatric sized venflons, bags of saline and dextrose along with total parenteral nutrition (if you’re talking more than a few days) might be tricky to stumble upon , even if you are a Doctor, especially so in the wake of your child’s purported abduction.
——————————————————————————-
OK, but my wife has nursed patients who have had brain injuries. Some of them could not speak or move but their eyes were open and they could be spoon fed.
So, although I agree I have used the wrong word to describe this state, it does not mean that Madeleine could not have been like this.
i have to say that, like you, I think this is improbable but I have to return to the fact that whatever has happened is improbable. There just isn’t a probable explanation for what has happened.

TB’s theories have become so ridiculous as in 525, that they bear no relevance except in their off the planet thinking. It is embarassing to see posters trying to convice their cyber allies of the McCanns involvement in some mysterious and dastardly plot involving every available organisation in the world, frankly all rather pathetic and says more about the posters than it does about the McCanns and their delightful friend Esther.

THE TAPAS 9 CHILDREN’S HEALTH PROBLEMS ON HOLIDAY
595 Remigius
Also, when you come to think of it, whether true or not, lots of babies crying, vomiting, sobbing, dying…
1. Mrs Fenn - ‘Madeleine crying ‘Daddy’, ‘Daddy’ 10.30pm to 11.45pm on Tuesday 1 May
2. Bridget O’Donnell - ‘Baby crying so badly that Jes went out for an hour to calm her down in the pushchair’
3. Russell O’Brien - ‘Baby so sick she was vomiting, throwing up - had to go and see to her - long time away from the table - so bad I had to order a change of sheets - but OK by 9.55pm, back down to the Tapas for another 250ml of Piesporter 1967′
4. Gerry - ‘Madeleine had a bad nose bleed - maybe that’s why there might be her blood under the tiles’
AND NOT FORGETTING
5. Gerry serves a few tennis balls at 4.30pm on Thursday 3rd May, then says: ‘Look, lads, I’m sorry, it’s my Achilles tendon, I don’t think I’d better risk it after all’ - then abandons tennis game or ’social tennis event’ or whatever.
P.S. Gerry McCann claims to have had *three* tennis sessions that day. All with an Achilles tendon injury?
P.P.S. Day after Madeleine’s ‘disappearance’ - out Gerry McCann out jogging for some distance.
Why, anyone would think ‘The Doctors’ might be lying…

Plus we already can see from the playground photo that Gerry is playing with a girl other than his daughter Amelie. For months we’ve assumed it was Amelie so why wouldn’t an eye witness in PDL assume the same? The truth is they wouldn’t know Madeleine and even wouldn’t know the kids names in general. I bet for many, the first they knew about the name Madeleine was well after May 3. You’re right…it has to be explored if only for completeness.
+++++++++++++++++
Nothing in relation to the playground photo per se, but something else that arises from questioning the veracity of that photograph itself.
If we are being suspicious of peoples actions then it seems reasonable to assume that just about everything we have been allowed to see “in public” is/has been for a good reason?
One piece of “information” that at first hand appears to have no good reason for being in the public domain is the phone video footage allegedly showing the family departing for holiday. In discussions here it has several times been suggested that one of the other Tapas members must have released it possibly as some means of getting at Gerry re his alleged grumpiness and use of the f-word.
What however if the footage was deliberately released as some sort of proof that Madeleine did actually go on holiday? What is it about that footage that absolutely confirms the people that appear, in particular Madeleine, and the date and time it was taken? Is there any possibility that two or more unrelated sections of footage are shown? E.g. The children going up the plane step, are they the same children who appear on the footage on the bus?
There was a “rumour” a while back now that the PJ allegedly had DNA proving seven children may have slept in apartment 5A. That suggestion seems to have gone cold? However, if there is any truth to it, why seven? There should be eight children in the party overall surely?
If a living Madeleine was never in PDL, allegedly, that may make DNA matching an interesting exercise? What source materials would the PJ have been given for DNA matching?
How did Gerry travel back to Portugal following his initial visit to Rothley?
Has anyone ever been able to confirm the names/ages whereabouts of Murat’s child? What about that other guy and his wife from Exeter? (The one who had his car tested because he returned it with a child seat in it and who it also transpires knows one of the Tapas couples?)
I’ve no evidence to support this wild theories. I’m just speculating.

You mean Gerry’s creepy, grinning visage?
It is strange to see his “smile” more a grimace, and then to look at madeleine’s oddly subdued face, all in the same frame, being held by him.
If it were a fairytale illustration, he’d look like the ogre just about to gobble up the princess. It is a strange, quite unsettling photograph, really. It doesn’t make me feel sorry for them at all. Instead, it makes me ask–What was going on inside that family, inside that house? Something…not good. That’s the vibe I get.

…It’s a kind of strange thing to do. You’re tired, your baby’s crying, you’d just perhaps change him, burp him, pat on the back and say something soothing….but NO! Lug him out in the pushcart late at night, go clatter-clatter-clatter up and down the tiled walkway, and it’s COLD in Portugal then–JT went into great detail about the “abductor” wearing heavy clothes. This all has to be VERY uncomfortable for the leetle baby!

I hate repeating myself over and over but these photos really do tell a thousand words don’t they? No wonder they didn’t want to release photos from the week in PDL. They give too much away - the weather, the time, the clothing, etc. A single photo is capable of destroying an alibi.

I must be spending too much time on this forum - I had a very strange and vivid dream that I was in Portugal in some sort of farmhouse - not at all dilapidated. Kate was there and another older motherly woman. Madeleine was running around but I felt great sadness instead of elation. Kate was silent and tragic and seemed emotionally tortured. I don.t claim any sort of pyschic vision here, it was just a dream, but I woke up disturbed and it took me some time to shake off that feeling.
