99 Daisy

Do you really think that lying liars cannot keep a lie going for 9 months?

Especially lying liars facing, perhaps, life or significant time in prison? Or the ruination of their careers, the surrenduring of their "loovely houses," the loss of their surviving children, the ignominy of being a neglectful, or quite possibly homicidal parent?

A 9-month lie is nothing for such lying liars and the people who love them and lie for them.

And they will lie for the rest of their lives if they have to. In fact, it's common for such self-servers to actually convince themselves that they are, in fact, telling the truth (on some level not grasped by those who don't benefit from the lie).

It's a different world, that of the lying liars.

Ferdinand Says:
"and there were NO CHARGES, (although it was obviously a more severe case of neclect than the tapas case)."

That kid was 8 years old. The OLDEST Tapas kid was Madeleine, not yet 4 years old. There was a 10 month old, and an 18 month old too...

Leaving an 8 year old kid is "more severe" than leaving infants and toddlers?

Brilliant, Ferdinand, you must be a logician or a lawyer! Wow, I'm impressed.

"If you are happy with this outcome (as I am), why do you want charges in the McCann case?"

Court cases take account of consequences, and they take account of parental intention, lack of remorse, etc. Plus it was infants and toddlers. That's why the McCanns should be jailed for the maximum 10 years, for child endangerment. Others in the Tapas9 also deserve prison sentences for their unpardonable child neglect.

Stop advocating non-enforcement of child neglect, Ferdinand. Why do you think in Portugal the MINIMUM sentence for child endangerment is 3 years? Is that so that people will freely neglect their children as you are advocating? When in Rome, obey Rome's laws, so to speak.

"61 Tony Bennett Says:
See also Karen’s useful post - Post 52 - where she explains how the existing law worked in a Scottish case.

52 Karen Says:
I don’t know what the actual law is. But in our street (I’m in Scotland) there was a boy who was left every evening on his own while his parents worked late. He was 8 and the police came and took him away to relatives, the social workers were called in and the parents were forced to hire a babysitter or they would be charged. So, it worked."

Well Tony, so the parents have shown some insight, the child has finally got a babysitter, and there were NO CHARGES, (although it was obviously a more severe case of neclect than the tapas case). If you are happy with this outcome (as I am), why do you want charges in the McCann case?

Tony / Stevo:

I had a look at www.truthformadeleine.com website and found a couple of interesting things after reviewing some of the information displayed on that site:

Although it appears that the "Baby Grace" case is solved, I would like to make following remarks.

1. White/Pink Trainers (Baby Grace case) are NOT the same as Maddie's:

The website makes a comparison with shoes that Maddie was wearing in one of the photos of the playground (resort) and the ones in the Baby Grace case, and describes them as "strikingly similar" (fair comment),

http://www.truthformadeleine.com/babygrace.htm

BUT, please have a look at the YouTube video of Maddie "keep hoping, keep praying, keep searching", at about the half way mark (2:09 min), Maddie is dressed up as a pumpkin and she is wearing white and pink trainers "strikingly similar" to the one she is wearing in the playground photo. To me, they actually look like the SAME shoes. If I'm correct, the suggestions on Truthformadeleine are inaccurate and in my opinion, should be rectified/deleted as they are misleading and fuel speculation. Both trainer types have different fastening system and different ornaments.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID2ZNxs-B2k

2. Trip to Huelva by the McCanns on August 3, 2007:

Allegedly Gerry said: "It is exactly 3 months since Madeleine was abducted. Kate and I had an early start as we drove to Huelva, 50Km over the border from Portugal in Southern Spain."

The Truthformadeleine website disputes this distance of "50Km", because the distance between Praia da Luz and Helva is 190 Km (fair remark). BUT, if you look at the link below, the map shows the border between Portugal and Spain and the reference scale for distance, would suggest that Huelva is about 50km from the border, i.e. "over the border" , which is how I read Gerry's comment about the trip: 50 km from the border itself.

http://www.atlapedia.com/online/maps/political/Spain_etc.htm

3. Lack of photographs of Maddie at the Resort:

Could it be that other photographs taken of Maddie in the first few days in May are in possession of the police, because there could be certain people in the background that are of "interest" to them and don't want to alert these individuals by showing those photos to the World? Food for thought.

4. Photo of Maddie around the pool (A, B & C) - "The Last Photo"

http://www.truthformadeleine.com/thelastphoto.htm

I could go on and on about "shadow casting" as I have some knowledge about it, but in my opinion, photo A is real. The edge (coving) of the pool is circular, therefore, Maddie is sitting in the proper angle for that side of the photo. When Maddie was "pasted" on the other side of Gerry (photo C), her body angle with respect to the edge of the pool is totally mis-aligned.

Remarks are made about who is she smiling at in that direction, if the photo was taken from across the pool or from inside the pool. Could she be smiling at someone who maybe smiled at her, or at an inflatable pool toy, like a big duck, for example?

Comments about Maddie what she is wearing and that she is not wet, but completely dry: She is wearing a top and shorts and no swimming costume. Could it be that she was ready to be taken to the child minding place, after having been playing at the playground, quickly putting the feet in the water for a while and continue on?

Gerry's legs don't show a shadow because they are illuminated from underneath due to reflection of sunlight on the water. More is not visible on the photo. His legs (knees) protrude quite a bit past the coving and would only cast a shadow well below the water surface.

My point in making these comments is to pin-point that some information about this case is not always the way some people see it and speculate about, but there are/could be other valid explanations for certain things.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Tony, do you totally discount the possibility the child was taken and they may suspect by who and afraid to say and/or actually hoped to get her back from whoever by using that whatever one wishes to call it Group?

This is another piece of the puzzle missing - if this was all a cover-up why would they spend so much money on such a whatever ones wishes to call it Group to find her?

What is happening, Tony, to me at least, there has been so much put on here that truthfully is too far fetched in theories or scenarios, at least to me it appears to be that way, that one can't focus on analyzing really valid points on how, where and why it may have alledgedly happened the way many think it did. Embalming - give me a break! In refrigerator - give me a break! In boot of car 25 days later - give me a break!

If we all didn't have so many different time zones, and could work in unison with no infighting and have what is similar to a strategy forum with a 'leader, chairman' or whatever' (you or someone else) to keep focus on the issue(s) we could take it item one by one and sort it out. But not ad infinitum on each issue - time limit set with viewpoints/thoughts heard and noted.

I have to go to work tomorrow and if not too hectic I'll go into the Library and research various States' laws re Children.

I am also reluctant to jump right or left,
and yes it is nicer here when it is quieter…
Am off now to an afternoon pool party in 41 celcius degree heat …such is life on Boxing Day in Australia.

It is 1:40 pm here and it is a very beautiful country. There is something for everybody here. But the best is that where I am (north-east coast), the weather is just devine all year round.

I do find it difficult to follow certain conversations when the place is very busy, mainly because I have to go back several pages and pick up from where I left the day before. At the moment I have some weeks vacation, therefore it is easier (have more time), but when I go back to work, I will be lost again. But this case has become somewhat of an addiction and will continue to read/post.

Cheryl, I’m with you on this. I have thought over and over again about biological mother/father (adoption/surrogate/donor) possibility and also the fact that I find it almost impossible for 9 people to keep lying after so many months. Even read about a forensic/police guy who does not believe they could be covering up something for so long.

There is something “fishy” about the whole thing, but I don’t think it is what everybody is speculating about. I still see abduction as the most likely scenario

REPLY: Tony, put that 'seed' into my mind about the talk around of maybe irregularities re getting or having Maddie and at first I scoffed at it and then it hit me...just maybe ...so I started taking it step by step in my mind...

TONY - YOU STILL UP OVER THERE?

Reason I'm trying to see if he is up is last night he mentioned to me about the Scottish Mafia and expressed concern about them. It is easier to talk with him one on one than with a lot of other posters on the board, Daisy. Do you find it easier also with less on? I get lost many times following all the many theories thrown out at one time.

Hey it is all most noon in Australia, isn't it? I've always wanted to go there, Daisy, now for many years. So many friends have gone there and raved about it to me.

You like it a lot?

I just hope the the truth will come out one day and that Maddie gets justice.
