Madeleine McCann: 4650 Articles, Christian Ridout Was Here And Lawless Morocco
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: Poster blitz in Morocco”
“More than 11,000 letters and posters have been distributed in remote parts of the North African country to jog the memory of someone who may have seen the little girl”
A spokesman says: “E-mail is great within larger towns and cities, but there are still a lot of people who do not have Madeleine’s picture or the phone contact details to report sightings or information”
Do you have Madeleine’s picture? Do you know the phone number?
DAILY MAIL: “Letter blitz on remote Moroccan mountain villages that Madeleine McCann campaign cannot reach”
“Agents [of Metodo 3] have distributed photographs of the little girl with an appeal in French and Arabic to call with information about her whereabouts. But it has proved difficult to reach all of the isolated communities where a child could have been taken, many of which are in lawless, mountainous regions”
Those lawless Moroccans…
“Madeleine: Private detectives hunt for British barman known as DJ Shifty, accused of grooming an under-age girl for sex”
“Part-time barman and disc jockey Christian Ridout, 32, allegedly sent the British girl obscene text messages when he worked in an expats’ pub 200 yards from where Madeleine disappeared. When the 12-year-old’s mother discovered the explicit messages, Ridout - also known as DJ Shifty - left Portugal in a hurry”
A suspect?
Says the paper: “By coincidence, the Ridout family were next-door neighbours of the family of Robert Murat, the chief suspect in the Madeleine hunt, when the Murats lived in the nearby village of Almadena. The night after Madeleine went missing, a British expat walked into the Plough and Harrow pub in Praia da Luz, still owned by his parents Tony, 57, and Jill, 58, and asked: ‘Where’s Christian then?’ Locals have disparagingly nicknamed the pub ‘The Plough and Paedophile‘ and the missing man is widely disliked in the tight-knit community”
So where is Christian? Well, he left Praia da Luz a few years ago. His mother says she has not seen him for two years. Says the girl’s mother: “I went in to see them just before Madeleine disappeared and they confirmed they’re still looking for him. ‘No one knows where he is, but he could have been back to this area”
Or not…
THE SUN front page: “Publicity blitz for Maddie in Africa”
“Many still don’t recognise her”
Help make Madeleine McCann the world’s most recognisable face
“Despite a massive campaign highlighting the seven-month search for their daughter, experts believe many in the north African country still lack the crucial information they need to help trace her”
Many?
“Now a silent army of volunteers from the Helping To Find Madeleine campaign have given their time over the festive period to flood businesses across the nation with 11,500 letters and posters”
Not so silent
“The initiative comes after the McCanns’ Spanish detective agency pin-pointed Morocco as the most likely place little Maddie may have been taken”
Can you pinpoint a “likely place” to an entire nation? Is this detective work or guesswork?
Kate and Gerry McCann are “doctors”. Fact
Kate pins on badge of hope: “ANGUISHED Kate McCann returned to church yesterday – with a badge of hope bearing a picture of missing Madeleine pinned close to her heart”
A new merchandise push?
One “worshipper” at Kate’s church says: “Every mother wants to cuddle her children at Christmas – it’s heartbreaking that Kate has been denied that. The badge is a symbol of hope that could help focus new eyes on the hunt for Madeleine”
“347 new Maddie calls combed” - The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell says: “We are pleased with the calls and they are continuing to come in. Every single call is much appreciated and we are going through them with a fine-tooth comb. Any that need to be acted upon swiftly are being acted upon swiftly. We don’t go into detail because if there is any significant information”
DAILY STAR: “TECS: MADDIE BEING HELD IN MOROCCO”
“More than 11,500 posters appealing for information about the youngster have been sent out to the furthest reaches of the north African country”
Francisco Marco, the PI hired by the McCanns, says: “Morocco is the perfect place to hide a kidnapped girl”. He has said this before. Is Morocco the perfect place? Why not Algeria? Or Malta?
DAILY RECORD: “Maddie Poster Blitz In Morocco”
“Schools, supermarkets and medical centres are being blitzed with thousands of photos of the missing four-year-old. And letters written in French and Arabic are being sent to towns and villages in the most remote parts of the country”
Madeleine in Morocco. Or not. Again… Isabel Gonzalez saw her. Mari Pollard saw her
Clarence Mitchell says: “Anyone who puts effort into assisting us in any way, we are incredibly grateful for, and it sounds like they have done a fantastic job. I have no doubt that it is this kind of effort and initiatives that will lead us to finding Madeleine”
Gerry and Kate McCann are “doctors”
THE GUARDIAN: “From Mr Bean to Shambo the bull, the media obsessions of 2007”
A review: “Almost nine months after she vanished, we know a lot about Madeleine McCann and her family. We know the legal implications of being named an official suspect in a Portuguese criminal investigation. What we do not know is who took her, if she is alive and whether any trace of her will ever be found again. A total of 4,650 articles have appeared in British newspapers since she disappeared on May 3”
THE SCOTSMAN: “Madness, badness, hate and heroism - Robert McNeil continues his unique take on the events of 2007 with a look back at the second three months of the year…”
“Hell also visited the parents of three-year-old Madeleine McCann on 3 May when the toddler disappeared from their holiday apartment in the Algarve. In the ensuing months, Kate and Gerry McCann used the media to keep the case in the public eye. The Portuguese police did the same, but their efforts were directed more at casting doubts on the McCanns and their friends. Supposed sightings of Madeleine were reported periodically, but each time hopes were dashed”
THE TIMES: “Hundreds ring hotline after Madeleine plea”
Yesterday in the latest entry on his internet diary, Mr McCann wrote: “Madeleine should not be spending Christmas away from her loving family. The person who took her has it in their power to end our suffering and will be able to appease their conscience that they have done the right thing – especially at this time of year. Kate and I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to write to us and let us know Madeleine and our family are still in their thoughts and prayers. We still have at least one hundred cards to open! As always, every single one will be read and the support expressed helps renew our determination to find Madeleine”
The story, speculation and sensation…

Oh, Tanner’s apparition was certainly about 12 feet tall, wearing a brown smock and leggings, dagger in his waistband, and he shouted, “Fee, Fie, Fo, Fum, I smell the blood of an Englishchild!” as he crossed the road above her.
Yes, she will never forget that moment.

IMO Don’t be drawn into debating the May 3rd sham abduction. Much better to concentrate on the Chaplins’ night. Is that confirmed as May 2nd?

This Father Haynes Hubbard - he’s not the same Rev Hubbard who claims to have psychic contact with Madeleine, is he? The one who says Madeleine talks about “diapers” and “Do not be too hard on Mummy, she didn’t mean it” and Mummy putting “prickly things” in her arm? There seems to be a real play on names in this case - an “unrelated” McCann owning the holiday flat, two Brian Kennedys and two Rev Hubbards. Whatever next - another Amaral or Branson jumping out of the pickle jar?

Question:
The narcissist is not entirely responsible for his actions. Should we judge him, get angry at him, be upset by him? Above all, should we communicate to him our displeasure?
Answer:
The narcissist knows to tell right from wrong. He is perfectly capable of anticipating the results of his actions and their influence on his human environment. The narcissist is very perceptive and sensitive to the subtlest nuances. He has to be: the very integrity of his personality depends upon input from others.
But the narcissist does not care. Unable to empathise, he does not fully experience the outcomes of his deeds and decision. For him, humans are dispensable, rechargeable, reusable. They are there to fulfil a function: to supply him with Narcissistic Supply (adoration, admiration, approval, affirmation, etc.) They do not have an existence apart from carrying out their “duties”.
True: it is the disposition of the narcissist to treat humans in the inhuman way that he does. However, this propensity is absolutely controllable. The narcissist has a choice – he just doesn’t think anyone is worth making it.
It is a fact that the narcissist can behave completely differently (under identical circumstances) – depending on who else is involved in the situation. He is not likely to be enraged by the behaviour of an important person (=with a potential to supply him narcissistically). But, he might become absolutely violent with his nearest and dearest under the same circumstances. This is because they are captives, they do not have to be won over, the Narcissistic Supply coming from them is taken for granted.
Being a narcissist does not exempt the patient from being a human being. A person suffering from NPD must be subjected to the same moral treatment and judgement as the rest of us, less privileged ones. The courts do not recognise NPD as a mitigating circumstance – why should we? Treating the narcissist specially will only exacerbate the condition by supporting the grandiose, fantastic image the narcissist has of himself.

Ok, so I’m not the tallest person in the universe, but there is no way someone under say 2.5 metres tall is going to have long enough legs to be able to straddle the window sill without disturbing the lichen and to get down onto the pavement level.
Now, someone remind me, how tall was Tanner’s dastardly villain?

That really is the point I was making. The time lines cannot soley be relied on as they can be changed around to suit. I don’t believe that is all the PJ has but if they were to put too much reliance on them then they (the PJ) could come unstuck.

This is why I like to stick rigidly to the timelines provided by the McCanns.
They claim regular 30 minute checks. To do this, they would be clock watching.
Note that they are clcok watching when it suits and not clock watching when it doesnt.
Anyone who has been reading my posts will recall that I said to watch for the McCanns and T9 and their supporters - at some point - beginning to adjust the times when they realise the damage Tanner did when to them when was precise about the ‘abductor’ sighting time.
The fact is, the timelines are as Garth wisely stated, falling apart,. The error he made was to call them Ians timelines! They arent mine - they are the T9’s!
The fact is that the timelines are and have always been a total fabrication and I think the world knows it. I met a lot of family this week - it being that time of year - and was amazed at the strength of feeling about the McCanns accusations against families everywhere.
Not one came out in suppoort of their behaviour and all thought Maddie died in an accident in the apartment and it was being covered up by members of the T9.

I have not noticed anything untoward in Madeleine’s behaviour either, Tony, but we must be honest and admit that we have only seen a few photos (and many of us don’t even feel sure that they all represent what they purport to). We have absolutely no idea how she behaved generally and do not know what problems, handicaps etc she might have had. Of course, however difficult she may have been, there would be no justification in harming her or treating her cruelly, but we really do not know the circumstances and can only speculate.
Of course, we are all speculating at the moment so please don’t think I am just being a hypocrite, because I am quite aware that I have expressed preconceived ideas of my own which might also be wrong. However, if Kate has suffered from depression and needed help with the children, then I don’t think that is a reason to criticise her, as depression is an illness and not something one chooses. In fact, if she did have someone with her because she knew she couldn’t cope well on her own, then I would at least have some respect for the fact that she had tried to arrange some help. I suppose it annoys me that many people still, in this day and age, think that true depression is something that a person can turn on and off at will. It is an illness that no-one would EVER choose to suffer with.
We know the children were not cared for appropriately at times and that does make one cynical of K and G, and I think it is reasonable to speculate that the whole case does not add up and a lot of untruths have been told. Of course, the Fund business has not endeared them to us.
I must agree with Ann, though, that if M was a hyperactive child (and I think there are quite a few pointers in that direction), she may have been very difficult to deal with and, if K or G had lost their temper with her and harmed her, especially if Kate was suffering from clinical depression, then I think that would need to be taken into account. I don’t necessarily feel that K has behaved especially like a person with a typical clinical depression although, having said that, what is typical? - I suppose it can manifest in all different ways. Her pre-occupation with jogging and her appearance suggest to me a possible emotional lability but who knows?
Sorry if I am coming over as being sanctimonious - I don’t mean to be so - but I just think there is probably more evidence to suggest that M was quite a difficult child than an easy one. I myself think that there is far more to the whole thing than someone just losing their temper. The word “scheming” comes to my mind, but then I may be wrong.

“I gave you an answer TB like you requested. I then asked for another question which you avoided by stating ‘There was no abductor’. So if you’re so clever as you would have us all believe, let’s hear you discredit my answers without the pathetic retort!”
REPLY: Garth, I have no need to. Your answers themselves discredit the abductor theory far betetr than i could do and indeed, to coin a phrase, your answers ’speak volumes’. Especially the way you believe Jane Tanner’s original version of what the abductor looked like - you know, the one that Gerry told millions about on the world’s cameras on 24 May - and you now believe Jane Tanner’s second version, achieved only with a secret ‘cognitive technique’ and after several sessions with ‘the FBI’s top forensic artist’.
I presume that on your theory that the abductor used either ether, Calpol or an injection to sedate the twins before removing Madeleine, Madeleine slept through this abduction including when the abductor swung his legs through the window?
Let’s just recap what the abductor does in the children’s bedroom, shall we, according to the Garth Abduction Theory:
1. Walks in through the unlocked patio doors about 30 minutes after, from some vantage point, he sees Gerry and Kate setting off for the evening out at the Tapas bar
Not necessarily see Gerry and Kate make off. It could have been purely good timing.
2. Sedates twins using either ether, Calpol or an injection (or some other method which you have not told us about)
I have made no suggestion that she was sedated. But it is possible. And just to add Brandon will like this bit - I have taken my little boy out on holiday whereby he’s has slept through in his push chair through the commotion of loud music, been manouvred around and still didnt wake till the next morning. He’s three. Calpols bloody amazing
3. Removes Cuddle Cat and places it on ‘a high shelf or ledge’
adds to the theory that she wasnt sedated and that the abductor removed madeleine very carefully
4. Hides from Gerry as he makes sure the childen are OK, as he gazes lovingly at Madeleine sleeping in a crouched position (’recovery position’) and thinks how lucky he is, and then has a pee in the loo. Breathes noiselessly behind the door whilst all this is going on
He’s hardly going to jump out and say ‘gotcha’
5. Opens the shutters as silently as possible to avoid being heard - thinks that’s a better way to leave than through the unlocked patio door
well obviously - going through the patio doors would lead him onto the side road whereby he just might bump into someone - remember the top road was dark, quiet, and had plenty of routes to get away unseen
6. Opens the window
7. Grabs Madeleine
8. Sits on windowsill with Madeleine
9. Swings one leg over the windowsill
10. Swings the other leg over
11. Runs off
Dont think i said he runs off - hed wake her up!
12. Seen at 9.15pm ‘walking purposefully’ by Jane Tanner and ‘heading for where Robert Murat lives’.
Yes, but she didnt mention RM’s now did she - a tad cynical?
I have no doubt whatsoever that if this is not what you say happened, you will post any correction to my 12-point understanding of your theory
correct

Hello
I posted something yesterday but It was too late and everybody seemed to be out of Anorak.
It was re the picture of Chritsmas 2005, when Maddie in the middle of a group (left to right: Amelie, Madeleine and a male cousin, whose name I cannot remember now). Its a remarkable picture as Madeleine had “red eyes” and Amelie was “white” eyes, due to flash effect. Madeleine looks really to be 2 years and 7 months in that picture, so the other one (so debated) must be necessarioy from Christmas 2006.
However, in the picture of the red eyes, Maddie does not look like being herself…. there is something strange in her face… I would say that she is one of her female cousins (that we have previously seen in other pictures)

So poor old Ians timeline is becoming less and less credible hmm?
Weve now established that an abductor could quite easily take a child out of the window (and without waking her up - unless he was Frank Spencer) and plod off into the appropriately dark and quiet night.
Also, it has been proved that quite possibly and evenly likley that the abductor was in the apartment on Gerrys check.
We have also established that due to the distress caused by Madeleines disappearance on the night that the Drs McCann didnt automatically turn into police detectives whereby they should have shut off the apartment to any visitors who wanted to help search/comfort them in their hour of need and also that they didnt automatically send the two twins off for tests because they thought they might have been sedated. Hmm…….
———————————————————————
No; you haven’t established anything.
Announcing ‘Make it so’ may have worked for Jean Luc Picard, but Garth isn’t in the same class.
So we have an evil abductor crippled by his/her encounters with inanimate objects in a pitch black apartment trying to find the ’special’ chosen child, not only finding the ‘Chosen One’ in the pitch dark, but also apparently capable of levitating over the window to avoid damaging the lichen growing on it, and swiftly recovering in order to stride off urgently with a child arranged in his/her arms in a manner guaranteed to result in the need for the urgent attention of an osteopath.
It just doesn’t work, Garth…

I hope the PJ have a lot more to go on than the time lines given for that evening. I remember Tanner saying that they weren’t clock watching. I personally would be unable to come up with such definate times, especially whilst on holiday. I would probably not even be wearing a watch. Are some of the times made up from what others have said & known, ie other tapas members & staff etc? If so then the times could be easily discredited if needed / wanted or chosen to be.
Therefor, I believe, the time lines (of the evening) are only of any importance if used in conjunction with more conclusine evidence.

I know you don’t have carols, but do you have The Nativity Play where you are?
Over Christmas, we went to see ‘The McNativity’!
It’s obvious who took the lead roles of ‘Scary Mary’ and ‘Stroppy Joe’.
RO’B, DP and MO were ‘The Three Lies Men’
Clarrie was ‘The Spinkeeper’. (He wanted to be ‘The Angel of the Gord’, but JT got that part, since she was the only one who had actually seen ‘the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes.’)
Mrs W played The Spinkeeper’s Wife’, but when she was asked if there was any room in the inn, she couldn’t be bothered to get up and check, and just shouted, “STABLE! They should have pre-booked - don’t they know it’s Christmas?!?”
Metodo3 were going to be the shepherds, but they failed to turn up, as they were busy searching for ‘yonder star’ in the east – and west – and north – and south. So instead, the nannies played the shepherds, ‘keeping watch over the kids by night,’ (well, those whose parents were prepared to pay for the service.) RM gave an excellent performance as the scapegoat.
The donkey was played by Amarel, as he was the only one short enough to wear the Eyehore PJ.
Auntie P played the front half and the back half of the cattle.
Cuddle Cat was Molammed, ‘The Lamb of Good’, of course. (He also had his own ‘stand-in’ available.)
No prizes for guessing who took the role of ‘King Herod the Rebel o’ (boo, hiss, off with his head, whoosh/cluck.)
The manger was played by John Prescott and the bedding by Jack Straw.
Baby Jesus was played by R Branson – as it was a Virgin birth!
December 27th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
No stranger abduction - I hthink you will find that the investigation dropped that idea some considerable time ago.
Couldnt have been in the apartment - Gerry was in there - couldnt have broken in the front, couldnt have got in the back - Jes and Gerry chatting.
Gerry in the apartment at 9:10.
Tanner see’s cartoon man at 9:15.
Madeleine would have screamed the place down - Kates mum’s stated.
Tanner is either lying - or there wasnt an abductor. If she is lying, its to cover up, hence also no abductor.

please read the following 5 times and comprehend- BF talking
QUOTE
“Abusers regularly deny the abuse ever took place - or rationalize their abusive behaviors. Denial is an integral part of the abuser’s ability to “look at himself/herself in the mirror”.
by his victims, most abusers tend to shift blame or avoid the topic altogether. Total denial 1. Outright denial
Typical retorts by the abuser:
“It never happened, or it was not abuse, you are just imagining it, or you want to hurt my (the abuser’s) feelings”
2. Alloplastic defense
Common sentences when challenged:
“It was your fault, you, or your behavior, or the circumstances, provoked me into such behavior”
3. Altruistic defense
Usual convoluted explanations:
“I did it for you, in your best interests”
4. Transformative defense
Recurring themes:
“What I did to you was not abuse - it was common and accepted behavior (at the time, or in the context of the prevailing culture or in accordance with social norms), it was not meant as abuse”
Abusers frequently have narcissistic traits. As such, they are more concerned with appearance than with substance. Dependent for narcissistic supply on the community - neighbors, colleagues, co-workers, bosses, friends, extended family - they cultivate an unblemished reputation for honesty, industriousness, religiosity, reliability, and conformity. Forms of denial in public 4. Family honor stricture
Characteristic admonitions:
“We don’t do dirty laundry publicly, the family’s honor and repute must be preserved, what will the neighbors say?”
5. Family functioning stricture
Dire and ominous scenarios:
“If you snitch and inform the authorities, they will take me (the abusive parent) away and the whole family will disintegrate”
Confronting the abuser with incontrovertible proof of his abusive behavior is one way of minimizing contact with him. Abusers - like the narcissists that they often are - cannot tolerate criticism or disagreement”
