Madeleine McCann: 4650 Articles, Christian Ridout Was Here And Lawless Morocco
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: Poster blitz in Morocco”
“More than 11,000 letters and posters have been distributed in remote parts of the North African country to jog the memory of someone who may have seen the little girl”
A spokesman says: “E-mail is great within larger towns and cities, but there are still a lot of people who do not have Madeleine’s picture or the phone contact details to report sightings or information”
Do you have Madeleine’s picture? Do you know the phone number?
DAILY MAIL: “Letter blitz on remote Moroccan mountain villages that Madeleine McCann campaign cannot reach”
“Agents [of Metodo 3] have distributed photographs of the little girl with an appeal in French and Arabic to call with information about her whereabouts. But it has proved difficult to reach all of the isolated communities where a child could have been taken, many of which are in lawless, mountainous regions”
Those lawless Moroccans…
“Madeleine: Private detectives hunt for British barman known as DJ Shifty, accused of grooming an under-age girl for sex”
“Part-time barman and disc jockey Christian Ridout, 32, allegedly sent the British girl obscene text messages when he worked in an expats’ pub 200 yards from where Madeleine disappeared. When the 12-year-old’s mother discovered the explicit messages, Ridout - also known as DJ Shifty - left Portugal in a hurry”
A suspect?
Says the paper: “By coincidence, the Ridout family were next-door neighbours of the family of Robert Murat, the chief suspect in the Madeleine hunt, when the Murats lived in the nearby village of Almadena. The night after Madeleine went missing, a British expat walked into the Plough and Harrow pub in Praia da Luz, still owned by his parents Tony, 57, and Jill, 58, and asked: ‘Where’s Christian then?’ Locals have disparagingly nicknamed the pub ‘The Plough and Paedophile‘ and the missing man is widely disliked in the tight-knit community”
So where is Christian? Well, he left Praia da Luz a few years ago. His mother says she has not seen him for two years. Says the girl’s mother: “I went in to see them just before Madeleine disappeared and they confirmed they’re still looking for him. ‘No one knows where he is, but he could have been back to this area”
Or not…
THE SUN front page: “Publicity blitz for Maddie in Africa”
“Many still don’t recognise her”
Help make Madeleine McCann the world’s most recognisable face
“Despite a massive campaign highlighting the seven-month search for their daughter, experts believe many in the north African country still lack the crucial information they need to help trace her”
Many?
“Now a silent army of volunteers from the Helping To Find Madeleine campaign have given their time over the festive period to flood businesses across the nation with 11,500 letters and posters”
Not so silent
“The initiative comes after the McCanns’ Spanish detective agency pin-pointed Morocco as the most likely place little Maddie may have been taken”
Can you pinpoint a “likely place” to an entire nation? Is this detective work or guesswork?
Kate and Gerry McCann are “doctors”. Fact
Kate pins on badge of hope: “ANGUISHED Kate McCann returned to church yesterday – with a badge of hope bearing a picture of missing Madeleine pinned close to her heart”
A new merchandise push?
One “worshipper” at Kate’s church says: “Every mother wants to cuddle her children at Christmas – it’s heartbreaking that Kate has been denied that. The badge is a symbol of hope that could help focus new eyes on the hunt for Madeleine”
“347 new Maddie calls combed” - The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell says: “We are pleased with the calls and they are continuing to come in. Every single call is much appreciated and we are going through them with a fine-tooth comb. Any that need to be acted upon swiftly are being acted upon swiftly. We don’t go into detail because if there is any significant information”
DAILY STAR: “TECS: MADDIE BEING HELD IN MOROCCO”
“More than 11,500 posters appealing for information about the youngster have been sent out to the furthest reaches of the north African country”
Francisco Marco, the PI hired by the McCanns, says: “Morocco is the perfect place to hide a kidnapped girl”. He has said this before. Is Morocco the perfect place? Why not Algeria? Or Malta?
DAILY RECORD: “Maddie Poster Blitz In Morocco”
“Schools, supermarkets and medical centres are being blitzed with thousands of photos of the missing four-year-old. And letters written in French and Arabic are being sent to towns and villages in the most remote parts of the country”
Madeleine in Morocco. Or not. Again… Isabel Gonzalez saw her. Mari Pollard saw her
Clarence Mitchell says: “Anyone who puts effort into assisting us in any way, we are incredibly grateful for, and it sounds like they have done a fantastic job. I have no doubt that it is this kind of effort and initiatives that will lead us to finding Madeleine”
Gerry and Kate McCann are “doctors”
THE GUARDIAN: “From Mr Bean to Shambo the bull, the media obsessions of 2007”
A review: “Almost nine months after she vanished, we know a lot about Madeleine McCann and her family. We know the legal implications of being named an official suspect in a Portuguese criminal investigation. What we do not know is who took her, if she is alive and whether any trace of her will ever be found again. A total of 4,650 articles have appeared in British newspapers since she disappeared on May 3”
THE SCOTSMAN: “Madness, badness, hate and heroism - Robert McNeil continues his unique take on the events of 2007 with a look back at the second three months of the year…”
“Hell also visited the parents of three-year-old Madeleine McCann on 3 May when the toddler disappeared from their holiday apartment in the Algarve. In the ensuing months, Kate and Gerry McCann used the media to keep the case in the public eye. The Portuguese police did the same, but their efforts were directed more at casting doubts on the McCanns and their friends. Supposed sightings of Madeleine were reported periodically, but each time hopes were dashed”
THE TIMES: “Hundreds ring hotline after Madeleine plea”
Yesterday in the latest entry on his internet diary, Mr McCann wrote: “Madeleine should not be spending Christmas away from her loving family. The person who took her has it in their power to end our suffering and will be able to appease their conscience that they have done the right thing – especially at this time of year. Kate and I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to write to us and let us know Madeleine and our family are still in their thoughts and prayers. We still have at least one hundred cards to open! As always, every single one will be read and the support expressed helps renew our determination to find Madeleine”
The story, speculation and sensation…

That’s the sorry state of Britain today. My office used to be opposite a post office in the UK. Every Thursday I’d see a long procession of single (teenage) mothers with multiple kids of all shapes, colours and sizes form a line outside their to cash their giros. One day a mother called her toddler a little c**t. Of course, we heard this tirade from across the street because she was shouting and balling at the poor kid. God help the UK in 20 years when all this behaviour catches up with itself.

Oh yes he most certainly did bf, but as you are unable to digest the the meaning of proof further dialogue with you is pointless, stick to your fantasy world and dont give up the day job, unless you have proof to convict someone, anyone ?

Just trying to catch up.
Further to the sedatives post - I am sure a newspaper/spokesperson stated they had been tested negative to /certain/ sedatives/drugs, not all sedatives/drugs. My understanding is certain chemicals/drugs need different tests to detect them.

282 Oh no, another one! No Im definately off! Cant wait for the McScums and their pals to get their just deserts, evil bastards.
I was in town yesterday and some big loud mouthed bastard was having a right go at his little son, actually called him a ‘fucking little shit’ - a total thick Garth type. These people dont deserve to have the gift of children.
In my view, all the people who support the McScums should be investigated - theres something not right about supporting child neglectors which makes one wonder….

i think we have garth worried folks
his “professional” building knowledge has backfired on him with his “gently sliding off window cills” form of “explanation”
so no abduction through the window then
any other “evidence” of abduction
well there’s tanners story
sorry stories
erm
that’s it
well of course it was abduction then…
what fun - i only hopeit lasts a few more months - i want to see them completely skint before they go down
now that would be real fun

As a footnote…I do accept that there are parents out there who just use ADHD labels to excuse their children’s bad behaviour and they definitley are bad parents but also, why would I, who have raised five children anyway, put myself through the torture of raising a child with such a problem when I could have just taken the easy way out and done what his Mother was going to do and give him up to the Social Services ? Not my problem…..all my kids had left home by then anyway, why would I want to screw up my life ? and Best-Beloved isn’t even his kin so he deserves a chest-full of medals for helping take him on.
I shudder to think where he would be now, or what sort of a person he would be, as it is, he is a great kid, very much admired by all who know him for the way he has forged his way through school and is now in College where he also gets support so all you name-callers out there, get educated and don’t be so ready to “dis” something you know naff-all about

I do not buy so-called ‘ADHD’ syndrome
************************************
Oh Tony !! I respect your views and postings but PLEASE don’t get started on a subject you have no knowledge of. Living with a child like my Grandson who was a classic example of same has been very trying at times, especially when the only solution the “experts” came up with was to put him on Ritalin. I refused point-blank as Ritalin is a hard drug and has long-term, devastating side effects. They even went so far as to say that if I didn’t do that, he couldn’t have a Statement for school, but I persevered with diet, Homeopathic remedies and Omega 3 all of which keep him ” normal” and - in the early days - we used a small electronic device, recommended at the Alternative Therapy Clinic he was attending, which worked so well that the aforesaid “experts” actually used him as a case study, so impressed were they with the results, and they added the device to their list of recommended treatments.
I soon know if he hasn’t been taken his remedies and the effects of not taking the Omega 3 are astounding as he gets worse on a daily basis, and - now that he is 16, I can’t be doing with that !!
All this cods-wallop about “good-parenting” is insulting to the poor beggars who have a child with this disorder. You can be a wonderful parent but if they are really chronically affected it desroys your own relationship with them and within the family circle as well. The High School he went to were quite happy to accept - and make allowances for - the child with Aspergers, the child with Tourettes and so on as they are blatantly obvious but - as anyone with an ADHD child will tell you, these kids are just deemed ” naughty” or “disruptive” and they are the ones that end up with the after-school detentions and punishments so a few other mothers and I got together with the school and demanded they have some instruction in the condition and how to deal with it and they had some people from the Clinic in Norwich come there to give them some advice and lectures and so on, and all of a sudden, the list of children they had to pay extra-special attention to, grew and I am happy to say that these kids are now receiving the attention and instruction they need, and their level of education is rising accordingly.

Yesterday I was looking at why Branson got involved and looked for possible medical connections. I didn’t realise he was so heavily involved in stem cell & cord blood research etc. That’s big business. I think it’s around $3000 to store that cord blood in his “Virgin” cord blood company.
Interestingly because of the discussions on Madeleine’s rapid hair growth I was reading about CAH - a disorder that results in rapid hair growth as one of its many symptoms. Then I noticed that steroids are used to treat CAH. Interesting coincidences if nothing else. But as a sport’s doctor who knows all about drugs in sport, steroids will be something Mr McCann is probably quite an expert on.
I have no conclusions but have wondered about the high-level involvement and have always been curious to know what binds these people together and allows them to be able to “call in favours” as Brian Kennedy said.

I think I see where the problems have arisen here. Since the new building regs concerning the requirement for windows to need toughened glass if below a certain height, UK builders have been making UK windows higher to avoid falling foul of the new regs. Portuguese windows are probaly much lower. Have a look at this

Chenier, of course you can, you aint riding a blinkin horse with both feet on the ground. You pivot on ones bottom and then carefully place both feet on the ground. Remember, the abductor proabably wasnt over the age of 60 as it would appear most of the posters on here.
——————————————————–
Well, the problem with that is that pivoting on one’s bottom can be pretty destructive of the trousers, not to mention the wildlife.
And since Tanner allegedly only got a side/rear view of the Dastardly Villain, you would have thought she would have noticed it.
Hang on a minute, was that version 15 of the Tanner sighting which just dropped through my letter box?

The evil of the world knows no boundaries.
Just taking this one tiny issue we collectively spend so much time discussing here! This is a world in which people argue that its ok to abandon their charges and not accept their responsibilities - and where this is actually - utterly incredibly - supported by other supposedly civilised people. The primary function of the human being is to reproduce and to ensure our offspring survives, yet many of us cant even manage that above our self centred pleasures!
To blindly accept that after death there is some wonderful after life is insanity, yet how many people across this sorry world believe just that? Otherwise intelligent logical clever people - I for one simply cannot understand it.
The only sense I can extract is that we are little more than the apes, nothing more than the ants. One day we too will fade away as did the dinosaurs (who reigned for many more years than we have!).

The old news is the best as it’s set in stone.
From the Telegraph on May 6:
“There was confusion yesterday over early reports that there had been a break-in at the McCanns’ two-bedroom, ground-floor apartment at Ocean Club, a resort run by the Mark Warner travel company.
Trish Cameron, Mr McCann’s sister, said on Friday that she received a telephone call from her brother, who was “hysterical and crying his eyes out”.
She said: “They had put the kids to bed at 7pm and checked on them every half-hour as they had dinner nearby with the rest of the party. Gerry said the window was open, the shutters broken and the door, which had been locked, was hanging open.”
But Robin Crossland, the administrator of the resort said he had been present when the McCanns were first interviewed by police soon after Maddy vanished. “They clearly said that they had left the French windows unlocked as they were using them to access the apartment to check on the children throughout their meal,” he said
