Football’s Shame: Ford And Prison
JOEY Barton is in prison. “CRY BABY BARTON,” says the Sun’s front-page headline.
“You hear him crying in his cell at lights out time,” says an “insider”. A fellow insider has reportedly called Barton “scum of the earth”.
The Guardian looks at other jailed footballers. Cars play a big part. And looking through the list, we note that Tony Adams, the former Arsenal captain, was jailed in 1990 for drink-driving after crashing his Ford Sierra into a wall.
A Ford Sierra. The shame!

He’ll be crying when he gets the sack as well. He doesn’t deserve to be in the enviable position he’s enjoyed for too long. People like him are wrecking the sport with their antics off the field. He’s got no respect for anyone. Too much money. Think he’d fit in well at a certain Xmas party in Manchester.

at the end of the day joey will be feeling it now especially if it is his first time inside. He would have been away from his friends and family over the christmas. He wont know what to do with himself in there he has every right to cry at night. I dont think he will be cryin because he is scared he is a big lad and will be able to look after himself in there. There is nothin to jail its just losing your freedom thats it our prisons are like a holiday camp for most people i dont know how the government expect people not to re-offend on there release from prison. I know people who like to go to prison just for a break. The government need to take a long hard look at our prisons and say to themselves why are our prisons becoming overcrowded with prisoners i bet over 3/4 of them have been in before. They know what it is like and it doesn’t bother them. Three meals a day, bed, tv and music centres they also get the best of facilities like gym and above all that they get to do loads of courses inside thats not because they want to they only do it to get time out of their prison cell. Obviously people ae goin to continue to commit crime all the time because the thought of them going to prison doesn’t bother them in the slightest and sometimes i see why
