But don’t the police waste enough of that themselves?

The Cyber Sleuths website makes interesting reading at times– Apologies if this is oldish news-but reports from Portugal are saying that embalming fluid was found at the disused barn,as well as the bloody towel and a bag. Also they are saying that the police already have the sports bag- GM was followed by the police,GM put the bag into another car and then the police retrieved it from there. It is also being speculated that male DNA was found with the barn evidence.

They have to go through the countries own legal system and the wait for the ECHR is a long one!
An odd thing to be contemplating when there is a criminal investigation underway and they won’t even go to the country in which the alleged criminal activities took place.

i personally think it takes cold and callous people to leave their children alone after being told that one of them was crying for their daddy the previous night, i personally would want all that came to me, wouldnt want to carry on anyway if anything happened to my precious daughter

Stevo I totally agree with you about the issue of distance not being that relevant. The fact that they couldn’t see whoever might have been coming into the flat, and the fact that they couldn’t hear a thing (especially with the quiz going), compounded with the fact that a little bit (or more than a little bit?) of alcohol tends to make people seriously undersestimate danger as well as delaying their reactions a lot in case of an emergency, (as proved in all driving tests) is more relevant.
In the summer, when we all sit and eat in the backgarden, even for lunch, I lock the front entrance of the house, though it is in the middle of a walled garden with a grilled iron gate, as the previous owners have been burgled by day, while sitting in the garden. Anyway, I just don’t buy what they say about leaving the doors unlocked.

National Union of Portuguese Judges President Antonio Martins said that the arguidos could face a long wait to clear their name.
“The problem at the moment is that no one knows what type of crime was committed. For homicide, suspects can still be tried for up to 20 years after the crime was committed” he said.
Kate and Gerry McCann have been warned by their legal team they may have to go to the European Court of Human Rights to get their arguido status lifted.

I have listened to the Youtube Rothley woman talking about how the McCanns are guilty of neglect. She goes on to say that the twins should be placed on the At Risk Register or even taken away from them. Whilst I agree with the neglect point, I do hope she means that, if there is a question of the twins not being safe, they should be placed with another member of their family, such as a grandparent or aunt. Hopefully she is not wanting the twins to be placed in a children’s home or with foster parents who they do not know, as this would clearly not be in their interests.
I am fed up with ignorant people saying that the twins should be taken into care. This could possibly be about the best way to ensure that they do become abused children, if you look at all the evidence available about children in care. They are two completely innocent babies -there must never be any question of “getting at the parents” through them. Depending on what happens in the coming days, if it should become necessary for the twins to be cared for by someone other than their parents, then it must of course be by a family member who knows and loves them. The twins’ childhoods will probably be quite hard enough for them without their lives being completely ruined.
