This was predictable. Robert Murat also remains a suspect
Says McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “They are frustrated and angry. Frustrated because, yet again, there appears to be no movement in the case when they know they are innocent. They will continue to push for their arguido status to be lifted”
The Correio da Manha newspaper “claimed Kate and Gerry, of Rothley, Leics, could be charged with perjury and wasting police time”
But don’t the police waste enough of that themselves?
“They have been warned by their legal team they may have to go to the European Court of Human Rights to get their arguido status lifted”
Human rights? What of Madeleine’s rights?

Not only did they leave the kiddies every (most?) night but it appears that the very next night, after having their knuckles rapped cos Maddie was crying for ages, they leave them again…..according to their version of course, cos all 3 were in the apartment alive & well. Weren’t they?

Speculation also has it that the Ocean Complex employees had to search out the McCs on the night of 2nd May when the group were at Chaplins Bar,this was owing to the fact that Mrs Fenn had reported that Maddy had been crying for 2 hours. Another inconsistency being speculated is that mobile phone traces are locating Russell Obrien in the barn area when he had told the police that he was not in the PD Luz area and was out of the country. All speculation of course.

REPLY: Charyl: It is a criminal offence to ‘waste police time’ e.g. by making up false stories. It has sometimes been used (not often) for example when women cry ‘rape’ when there clearly has been no rape. In actual fact, thinking about it, ‘wasting police time’ is an offence that the McCanns themselves could be charged with, if all this had happened in the U.K.
Harassment may under certain circumstances be a criminal offence: Protection from Harassment Act 1997 Sections 1 to 3. The harasssment however has to be ‘repeated’, which in English/British law means more than once.
coco’s initial approach to Social Services does not seem to me to break any law. S/he’s not the only one to have done something similar. There has been a lot of frustration here in the U.K. with the inability or unwillingness of various child welfare agencies like the N.S.P.C.C. to comment on this case

But they’d see themselves as absolved through the blessing of their sect leader. Its clear from things they say that they do not hold themselves in any way responsible. A certian intellect and imagination is required from guilt to do real damage. I have seen no indication that Gerry has much of either and Kate has thrown herself into her religion.

The ‘Show us the body’ bit was said by Kate in the interview that they did for foreign tv. I think it went out on Sky so you should find it on there. I watched her say it and had to keep rewinding coz I could not believe the tone of her voice - which interestingly was rather like the way we say, ‘Oh yeah! You and whose army?’ in the UK. Or ‘Prove it!’ was the actual syntax. GMcC always made sure he kept a tighter grip on her arm ever after that.
