Madeleine McCann: 20 Years Of Fury, Kate And Gerry McCann Prime Suspects, Robert Murat Says Nothing
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “YOU’RE STILL PRIME SUSPECTS – McCanns’ fury at police chief warning”
“Kate and Gerry McCann were furious last night after learning they are still prime suspects in daughter Madeleine’s disappearance”
It is now the 105th time Kate and Gerry have reacted with fury of been furious in a tabloid setting
“The couple’s hopes of being cleared today were crushed when police chief Paulo Rebelo asked a judge to extend their arguido status because detectives are sticking to their belief that they accidentally killed the four-year-old”
This was predictable. Robert Murat also remains a suspect
Says McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “They are frustrated and angry. Frustrated because, yet again, there appears to be no movement in the case when they know they are innocent. They will continue to push for their arguido status to be lifted”
The Correio da Manha newspaper “claimed Kate and Gerry, of Rothley, Leics, could be charged with perjury and wasting police time”
But don’t the police waste enough of that themselves?
“They have been warned by their legal team they may have to go to the European Court of Human Rights to get their arguido status lifted”
Human rights? What of Madeleine’s rights?
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE - McCANNS ARE MAIN SUSPECTS SAY POLICE”
“Kate and Gerry McCann were dealt a crushing blow last night when a police report accused them of killing their daughter Madeleine”
Says a friend: “They are not the prime suspects. As we understand it, the report talks about the police’s continued belief that Madeleine died accidentally in the apartment and that is why Kate and Gerry remain arguidos. It also talks about Robert Murat remaining an arguido and it discusses the possibility of her being abducted. Well, they can’t have it both ways”
No..?
Says Clarence Mitchell: “Throughout 2007 we have declined to comment on speculation in the Portuguese press. We will follow the same policy in 2008. If this report is true, however, and this interim police report exists, then we believe it contains nothing new. It is simply a restatement of the current position of the police. And we note that it not only discusses Kate and Gerry as arguidos, but also continues to name Mr Murat as an arguido. Crucially it also accepts the possibility that abduction took place”
The green shoots of hope…
THE SUN front page: “McCANN AGONY GOES ON – 246 after Maddie vanished, cops name Kate and Gerry as…PRIME SUSPECTS”
“ANGUISHED Kate and Gerry McCann are facing up to living as suspects over their daughter’s disappearance for another TWENTY years, it emerged yesterday”
Maybe…
Kate and Gerry are “both 39-year-old doctors”
Fact!
DAILY MAIL: “Police ’still think McCanns killed Madeleine by accident’ - and they will be suspects for 20 years”
“A secret police dossier has accused Kate and Gerry McCann of accidentally killing their daughter and hiding her body, it was claimed yesterday. The couple faked four-year-old Madeleine’s abduction, according to a leaked report on the eight-month police investigation”
Lawyer Edward Smethurst, who is co-ordinating the McCanns’ defence, says: “Any report about the leaked document we believe is completely without substance. We think it arises out of pure speculation on the part of the Portuguese papers”
Kate and Gerry McCann are “doctors”
THE SCOTSMAN: “Madeleine’s parents could be under suspicion for 20 years, says judge”
“The prospect of the case dragging on for years was reinforced yesterday by the president of the National Union of Portuguese Judges, Antonio Martins, who said: ‘No-one knows what type of crime was committed. If it was homicide, the investigation can only be shelved after 20 years; if it was kidnap, 15 years’”
On we go…
THE OBSERVER: “After a year in which the torment of Madeleine McCann’s family has dominated the British media, the trials of the Lees - and the hope the new image has given them - seem particularly acute”
The story: “Katrice disappeared on her second birthday from a supermarket in Germany, where her father was serving as a soldier. Her mother turned away for a few moments to fetch a pack of crisps for the girl’s party and when she looked back Katrice was gone”
Twenty six years ago…
FOX NEWS: “Missing Madeleine McCann: Irish Witness ‘Clears’ Murat”
Says Martin Smith, who was on holiday in Praia da Luz: “I told police it was definitely not him because the man wasn’t as big as Murat - I think I would have recognised him because I’d met him several times previously. He was wearing beige trousers and a darker top. We all put him in his early 40s and I didn’t think he was Portuguese”

Four-legged sniffers of the truth
If, or as seems increasingly likely, when, the full story of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is revealed, one question will demand an answer: why did detectives wait three months before bringing in sniffer dogs?
Traces of blood were found earlier this week by specially-trained springer spaniels in Madeleine’s bedroom in Praia da Luz. Samples taken from the scene are now being tested by British forensic scientists.
Whatever the outcome, there can be no doubt that the job of linking them to the missing three-year-old girl - and possibly even finding her - has been made harder by the delay.
The wonder is that the traces of blood were found at all. Invisible to the naked eye, they have almost certainly been subject to scrubbing and cleaning agents. But then, sniffer dogs are trained to perform such wonders on a daily basis.
Using simple Pavlovian stimulus-and-reward methods, their handlers train them to sniff out substances ranging from bodily fluids to drugs and explosives. The secret of their success lies in their noses - more specifically, their olfactory epithelium, an area of scent-detecting cells which is 50 times larger in dogs than in humans.
The sensitivity of these cells is astounding, allowing dogs to detect molecules in concentrations 100 million times weaker than humans can manage. This was how one dog deployed in the Algarve nailed the murderer of Attracta Harron in 2006, detecting traces of her blood in her assailant’s burned-out car.
Scrubbing, detergents, masking scents, incineration: these four-legged molecule hunters will take it all in their stride - if only humans give them the chance.

Is someone trying to destroy the Madeleine thread?
Coincidental to the case reaching a particularly interesting phase?
Someone doesnt like proximity to the truth of the primary theories emerging here?
Also the pro-McCanns all admitting that they never thought the McCanns parenting skills were very good but felt an overwhelming urge to protect them from the nasty world (poor parents, pity about the kid of course, but poor parents!).
Whats imminent? Dare we take a breath?

You are behaving like a half-wit!
The McCs did not afford the police the common decency or civility that you are purporting to have. Basically they told the police to f*ck off with their questions which is what made them look dodgy in the first place. If they had answered the questions, the police would not have had this problem.
How dare you waste Tony Bennet’s valuable time by deliberately trying to make him answer you! If you understood the British sense of humour you would see that we are humouring you as it is!

Uhm, in case you didn’t know, Anorak is a satirical web site. We do get overly serious now and then, but it is basically satire, irony, etc.
This is why I try not to worry when overly-long, pontifical writers threaten to murder me for merely yawning at their dreary, boring, sociological posts.

Clarence has said this, interestingly they are now admitting the inconsistancies which previously had never existed.
Clearly they have finally worked out a nice neat little timeline (no doubt at all thoroughly reviewed with their lawyers!) that allows for a nice neat little window of opportunity!
I can’t wait to see it (if we ever do - as Clarence and co will not let it in the public domain - it wouldnt allow them flexibility!).

One thought in mind is Maddie fell out of window-head injury. Taken to hospital long distance away. Left there for adoption later (illegally). Another thought. Everyone’s: Maddie died in rage-for annoying parents’ fun. She has been disposed of to leave no trace, unless someone talks.

Madeleine McCann’s parents attend Southport Theatre panto .
Report from the Southport Visiter.
Kate and Gerry McCann, with Madeleine’s two-year-old siblings Sean and Amelie, visited the Aladdin panto at Southport Theatre. Staff at the show, which stars Syd Little and Lisa Riley, were told the family would be coming before the performance. They were told the couple and their children, who live in Rothley, Leicestershire, would be in the audience, but not to discuss it.
A behind-the-scenes source said the McCanns were there to watch one of the dancers from Formby, who is a relative . The source said the four of them were there and we were told not to make reference to them. “It was a private thing, to help them through this difficult time.”
…A man who saw the family said they were in the foyer before the show. He said people were looking over at them and whispering, but no-one approached them. The man said the McCanns were left alone to enter the theatre and enjoy the panto together with their children in peace…
Questions:
Who decided that the staff had to be told in advance of the suspects’ visit?
Who actually told the staff of this visit, and when?
Why and on whose orders were the staff told not to discuss the visit?
Were the staff threatened in any way, and if so by whom, if they did discuss the visit?
Who is this “behind the scenes source”, and what instructions had he/she received regarding this visit?
If it was a “private thing”, why is the behind the scenes source talking to the Southport Visiter?
What difficult time for the suspects is this behind the scenes source referring to, and why is this difficult time of greater importance than the difficult time being encountered by the searchers for Madeleine McCann, the investigators of the crimes surounding her disappearance, the thousands of people whose lives have been affected or disrupted by this continuing farrago, the other suspect, the priest at PDL, the contributors to the dubious funds, the concerned and conscientious parents trying to ensure their children’s safety against the blatant casualness of the McCanns example and doctrine, the very many who are in near despair at the abject failure of the lawful authorities to lay charges of child neglect, and the millions of people being subjected to manipulative lies and distortions by the suspects’ spokesparrot, aided and abetted by the supine mainstream media?
I ask satirically, of course.

Flip back to the earlier posts. I criticized Judith C, and she threatened to strangle me. It was very vivid writing, although again, a bit overly long.
After I took issue with the notion of her murdering me over a writing issue, she started hurling insults, and making yet new threats!
And she being university-educated and all! I am really quite appalled, and frightened. And then, and then Mike Hondemhurst just, well, can I say, “burst” in, and made some kind of scary innuendo-ish (not sure whether that is actually a word, can some university-educated person please help out?) post that said, basically, WE ARE NOT SAFE HERE.
But he won’t say why!
